OCE with metadata - display problems

<p>Hello,<br><br>I'm having problems with an OCE that retrieves metadata informationon Hyperion Intelligence Designer 8.3.2.138.<br><br>I have 2 databases on the same server, both are MS SQL Server 2000.One holds application data, the other holds Metadata [for severaldatabases].<br><br>My OCE basically connects to the application database to retrieveapplication data and uses the same connection to retrieve Metadatafrom the other database.<br><br>What I then do is:<br>- Create a new document with the OCE described above<br>- Table names are shown with the correct metadata aliases<br>- I add one or more tables to the query<br>- Column names are also shown with the correct metadata aliases<br>- Column remarks can also be viewed and are correct (no tableremarks have been configured)<br>- I add one or more of the columns to the request line in thequery<br>and hit process.<br><br>What I see is:<br>- The correct number of rows are retrieved but the display isincorrect (the text at the bottom of the screen will typically say'50 of 50 rows' or similar; this number is always correct)<br>- Any numeric columns of size > 4 are displayed as blank<br>- Any varchar columns are displayed as blank<br>- All datetime, date, decimal and text fields are displayedcorrectly.<br>- If I take any of the non-displayed columns and make it a computeditem it displays. For example, if I had a varchar(50) column calledBrokerName, if I put BrokerName in the request line of the query, nothing is displayed. However, if I do an LTrim() or an RTrim() ora Lower() or an Upper() or a Reverse() or a Substring() etc... onBrokerName, the result displays as you would expect. I get similarresults with numeric columns and the associated numberfunctions.<br><br>All rows of data, no matter what the type, are displayed correctlyin a query that uses a (different) OCE that connects to theapplication database without also connecting to the metadatadatabase.<br><br>I have been trying to resolve this issue for a day and a half andam hitting a brick wall. Can anyone out there help?<br><br>Many thanks,</p><p>Keith</p>

hi bob robson,
for installing 10,4 tiger, you need an Apple which has built-in fireWire. this means that at least iMac 400 or a later model. 640 MB RAM is enough for installation. By the way, iMac G3 (640MB) is not an enough explanation to classify your mac.
skype 1,4 needs:
Macintosh computer with G3, G4, G5, or Intel processor
Mac OS X v10.3.9 Panther or newer. (The widget requires Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.)
128 MB RAM
20 MB free disk space on your hard drive
Microphone
Internet connection (either dial-up: minimum 33.6 Kbps, or any broadband: cable, DSL, etc.)
so if your iMac is 400Mhz or more and have 10.3.9 or 10.4.x installed, yes you can use skype.

  • Bridge - Exposure Camera Data (Exif) metadata display problem

I'm working with raw files with thumbnails displayed in Bridge Content.  In Bridge preferences > Metadata I have Exposure and Exposure Bias Value checked on. (These are the first two lines in the metadata panel.)  When I select a raw file in Bridge the Exposure and Exposure Bias Value metadata are displayed in Bridge Metadata panel as expected.  When I open the raw file in acr 7 and make some edits, click Done in acr and return focus to Bridge, the Bridge thumbnail is updated  but the Exposure line in Bridge metadata panel disappears -- the Exposure Bias Value is the first line of the metadata panel.  If I clear the settings, the Exposure line and data return to the metadata panel.  I also have 'Exposure' selected for one of the additional lines in thumbnail metadata, where the exposure data is correctly displayed even when the exposure metadata line is not shown in the metadata panel.
I do not see this problem in pscs5 with acr 6.7 beta.  Is there some setting I need to check or is this a bug?

For anyone who may find this post wondering why they can't see the specific EXIF data for each photo... "Show Metadata Placard" may be what you're looking for. Click the drop down at the top right of your Metadata panel and tick "Show Metadata Placard."  This will display a panel that looks like the info. panel on your camera (shutter speed, f-stop, iso, white balance, etc.).
I had to figure this out after getting frustrated by the fact that Camera Data (Exif) in the Metadata panel only shows the "Max Aperture Value" of the lens instead of the aperture value that you actually shot.

  • Having some problems with t61 display problems..

i am using a intergrated graphic card for the t61...
but what i dont understand is when i install the latest drivers through lenovo download site for the graphic card, there will be some display problems when i set to screen resolution to 800x600 or 1024 the whole screen will tend to be very small and not stretch properly according the the screen..
however i uninstall the latest drivers and went to intel to install the older drivers for the intergrated gfx.. after that everyday work properly..
when i had the latest drivers when i play games like warcraft or counterstrike the screen will also go very small however after using the old graphic card, the problem did not occur... can anyone tell me how do i install the latest drivers because i believe the older driver is not really expanding the gfx to the max.. thanks..

    random reboots are quite common
try updating the software before you do anything else.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Problems with Metadata displaying in bridge.

all of a sudden my raw files shown in bridge do not show the metadata info.  It does show the information in camera.  If I make any changes to any files in bridge it does not show the changes in the thumbnails but if you open the file the image is changed.

This would mean you are using embedded thumbnails.

Ive tried everything i can think of. I ended up plugging in another monitor and everything on that display is fine. Is my iMac CRT toast?

  • Image slideshow with filmstrip display problem

I'm not sure whether this is the right discussion group for this and therefore if it is wrong I apologise.
Using Dreamweaver CS5 under Windows XP I've developed a new website and tested it to my satisfaction. I've now started to deploy the pages to my new live site. The majority of the deployment has been just using the Synchronize Sitewide facility. As far as I can see everything is working as expected except for one page.
This uses the Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip - Basic:#ImageSlideShow. In my development site the varying size pictures display with the picture and black background. In my live page when selecting a new image parts of the previous image are still showing. Can anyone please advise what I should change or need to do for the pictures to display correctly?
The live page can be found at http://baughen.co.uk/HarryBaughan.html
The above snapshot illustrates the error.
    Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion but this code was already in at line 4.
The pan and zoom seems to have kicked in since my last change (I went back and deleted the widget and then reinserted). The problem is less noticeable unless you click on the individual thumbnails. Is there any straightforward documentation on how to manage the pan and zoom, even if it is just to remove it?
    Thanks

  • Soldier in Afghanistan needs help with MBPro display problem

My son is in the Army Infantry (Airborne). His unit is currently stationed in southern Afghanistan on a small Combat Outpost (COP), where he will be for about 8 more months. He has had a MBPro since mid-2008, and his AppleCare Extended warranty is still in affect. This is his description of the state of his MBPro:
"hey dad, an update. I got the mac to boot using PRM reset. Now, it makes the boot noise and the keyboard lights up but the LCD screen still wont come up. From my online research it seems my nvidia graphics card has gone out. Something which can be repaired cheaply at an apple store. However, i have no way to mail back my computer and the repair involves tearing apart the logic board to replace the video card."
I called Apple and was told Apple must receive the laptop stateside. As my son said, it is impossible for him, a lowly Specialist, to ship anything home. The guys in his unit are resourceful, and they do have the tools needed to attempt repairs (spuds, etc.). However, we would have to get a replacement logic board to him (at our expense), and we've looked at www.ifixit.com and found the tutorial for replacing a logic board. I personally would never attempt such a repair, even though I have myself replaced a hard drive in my PB and the power port in my wife's laptop. The logic board is WAY under everything else, and the chances of a screw-up are great. And, of course, the Apple warranty would be voided.
Does anyone have enough experience with logic board repairs to say they SHOULD attempt the repair on site? OR, is there anyone in the military who can suggest a way to actually get this Apple "brick" stateside for repair under the warranty?

To be fair to Apple, their warranty does state that the need for a repair/replacement must be shown to be necessary to their satisfaction. That means they have to have the MBPro in their hands to examine it. At this time, we cannot prove that the Nvidia card on the LB has failed. Over the 20+ years I've used Apple computers, they've been very good at honoring their warranties. It's not Apple's fault that my son is in a rather faraway place. How many other high tech companies do you know of who have coverage arrangements in this kind of situation? We're not expecting Apple to do anything more for us right now. If we can get the MBPro stateside, I'm sure Apple will treat us well.
As for a cheap PC laptop, well, that probably wouldn't be a good solution, either. My son is a gamer and uses Windows on the MBPro only for games not available under OS X. The MBPro is an OK, but not great, PC game laptop. However, a cheap PC laptop would probably be WORSE for gaming, so it wouldn't be a good buy. An expensive gamer PC is not an option, as my son hates Windows!
So, there's our conundrum. Right now, it looks like our best solution would be to get a used MBPro (non-Nvidia!), ship it (hoping it gets there in one piece), then swap the memory from the broken machine into the replacement. This will not void the Extended Warranty. Then my son can re-install his data (and Windows) from the external drive that he uses for Time Machine. That's the current idea, anyway.
All-in-all, while this is a complicated problem with no easy solution, it's not that big a deal, relative to everything that's going on in my son's life.
    Thanks for your suggestions!

  • Can anyone help with unstable display problem

I have my InDesign preference set to High Quality Display.  When I open a file it displays fine.  But a few seconds later it reverts to Typical Display mode.  The High Quality display checkbox is still checked and there is nothing I can do to have the file display in high quality.  Any suggestions?

I am afraid your suggestion did not solve my problem.  I renamed the two files suggested, but the problem persists.  Any new suggestions would be really appreciated.  I am just unable to see my documents in high resolution.
Again, they start out looking good and slowly every image transitions to low resolution.  It's really wierd how it's transitioning, almost unnoticeably.  But within about a minute they are all pixelated.

  • Please help with a display problem.

I plugged in an external projector.  It is now disconnected but I can't get the screen to return to normal.  Help please.

    1. Attempt to put the system to sleep and wake it back up and see if that doesn't correct the issue
    (Command + Option+ Eject)
    2. If that doesn't work Click on the  in the upper left hand corner of the display and go to system preferences and check your display settings there.
    3. If that doesn't work attempt to restart the machine with the projector not connected
    I hope this helps!
    GL!

  • Snow iMac 600mhz with crazy display problems

my Snow iMac starts up fine, but after a short time the screen turns to bars of various colors and the cursor shows as a one inch square (which I can still move around with the mouse)
If I unplug it for a few hours it will start up fine again, then become whacked after a short time.
I'm thinking this is obviously some component over heating causing this. My question is which part has gone bad?
I've done all the typical stuff: (re-set PRAM, booted from Disk, ran hardware test (everything passed) tried different RAM, swapped harddrives.
Is there a cooling fan thats not working? (I don't suspect there is)
Are there any other checks or test I can try before I write this one off?

I also have a Snow 600 mhz and I have the same problem but with mine it will change from yellow to green to red and then to normal again. In fact it just did it to me right now! It just started happening this morning. Another thing, I bought a power surge protector with all the switches at a yard sale for 3 bucks and since then my fax machine has died and my mac is on the blitz all within a period of 1 month. Could this be a coincedence or possibly a problem with the power surge protector. I am very worried about the mac. The fax machine was give to me and this could be a serious problem with my mac.

  • Display problems - cables?

hello there everyone. I have a tangerine Clam with a display problem. when I boot up the display lights up (grey) but nothing appears on the screen. I know it is the screen as I have tried hooking up another clam display to it and it works perfectly. As the screen is in very good condition I would like to save it. I am assuming it is a faulty cable, which one - out of the two it has - is likely to be the culprit and need replacing? Any ideas?

When the display lights up you only know that the integrated CCFL backlight lamp as well as the extra inverter board are intact, the rest could be stone dead.
The display panel has some integrated electronic components which of course can be toast. You can see some chips on the back and a whole lot of connections leading to different parts of the display - but if you think it might be a cable i would think it could be the left one which leads the signals from the graphic chip to the panel.

  • I have Problem with my new macbook with Retina display

my new macbook with Retina display i have Problems
(Suddenly Stuck) stop working don't thing move even mouse even caps lock light in keyboard it not work it is totally Stuck till shutdown it from keyboard and restart

Hmm sounds like a saved application state issue and memory related.. I hate to ask are these graphic intensive apps. ?? games ??
Try these two things and restart if it still occurs then i recommend contacting AppleCare
disable the Resume and App Restore feature completely in Mac OS X 10.7.
Launch System Preferences and click on the “General” icon
At the bottom of the “Number of recent items” list, uncheck the checkbox next to “Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps”
    - Click on the Apple on the top left. Choose shutdown "Uncheck" Reopen windows when logging back in
**use your mac normally just like you were if the issue reoccurs then contact AppleCare..  Enjoy..
