OCI compliance with SSP4

I need to know if SSP4 is OCI compliant (Open Catalog Interface) because I will need to connect to a Central Catalog from a distant entity. And, in order to connect through a direct line (leased line or Private Network), I have been told that my eProc solution in local must be OCI compliant.
Can anyone help me on this subject?

  • ADA Compliance with basic phones

It looks like Verizon is out of compliance with the ADA as far as basic phones are concerned.  By requiring a data plan to use a phone with a larger screen (4" and up) they are limiting people with impaired vision to obtain a usable phone.  I am bringing this issue up with my congressmen and the ADA office as well as the ACLU to see if we can get better phones for people with visual impairment.  Verizon must comply if they provide contracts to any federal government entities.

and vzw will say they have alternatives
    you wont win
    they have teams of lawyers
i dont think the ada says they have to provide large screen cell phones with no data
    do they have other alternatives?
maybe smaller screeens that have bigger text? i bet yes
look into a jitterbug, text is huge
why not go after the manufacturers and force them to create the phone you want?

  • Installing 8.1.6 OCI drivers with 8.1.5 RDBMS

    Hi,
I developpe an application in java 1.2.2 which have to connect to an
    Oracle 8.1.5 Database.
Or 8.1.5 OCI or thin Driver don't support java 1.2.x so I try to use
8.1.6 OCI with 8.1.5 Database as it is said in JDBC FAQ :
    "JDBC 8.1.6 drivers can talk to RDBMS 8.1.6, 8.1.6sdk, 8.1.5, 8.0.6,
    8.0.5, 8.0.4 and 7.3.4."
"8.1.6 OCI and THIN Driver - JDK 1.1.x and JDK 1.2.x"
I would prefer to use OCI Driver due to performance so I would like to
know how can I install 8.1.6 OCI Driver? Should I install a 8.1.6 Client
to connect to an 8.1.5 Database?
    Thanks,

all jdbc oci drivers require the matching client install on the same platform.
(i.e. The 817 JDBC oci driver requires the RDBMS 817 client install, etc.)

  • Can OCI work with Dot Net

    Hi Friends,
Can OCI be used to develop program in VB.Net or/and ASP.Net with Oracle like the way C or C++ can be used along with OCI - Oracle.
If this can be used, It will be great if you can help in finding out the websites providing more information on this subject.
    Regards,
    Vinay

You can look at Mono's source code to their System.Data.OracleClient provider which is written in C# and platforms invokes into OCI library.
    http://www.mono-project.com/
    Here are your options:
With Microsoft .NET 1.0 / Visual Studio 2002, you can download Oracle provider.
    .NET Managed Provider for Oracle
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/downloads/tools/
With Microsoft .NET 1.1 / Visual Studio 2003, it is included as System.Data.OracleClient.
There is ODP.NET (Oracle Data Provider for .NET) available for Oracle 9i Release 2.
Oracle 10g for Windows includes the ODP.NET
There is also System.Data.OleDb and System.Data.Odbc if the above does not suit your needs.

  • HT5423 Does Apple have anything official documentation listing compliance with UN38.3, UL 2054, and UL 60950-1?

While it's nice to claim compliance in a Press Release, does Apple have anything official backing this up, like a test certificate, or at lease a Statement of Conformity listing UN38.3, UL 2054, and UL 60950-1? These aren't listed in Apple's "Important Product Information Guide."

Obviously aviation is a special use of the iPad.  You come to a forum of regular users with an attitude about Apple and it takes numerous posts before you so much as give us a hint as to your (alleged) real needs.  Perhaps if you're really interested in the information, rather than simply trying to make some sort of a point, you would ask United Airlines or American Airlines why they chose the iPad.  Naturally, you could also ask the FAA why they gave their approval.  In fact, you could always ask Apple, which apparently you never did.
On the other hand, you could simply stay here foolishly trying to make a point about Apple.

  • OCI calls with hardcoded literals

    Hi All,
I am on Oracle v11.2.0.2 on RedHat. Oracle client 11.2.0.3 used by OCI client.
We have a third party software running on our database. The component I want to discuss here is, batch processes written using OCI running on another Linux node. This batch process runs lots of SQLs with hardcoded literals (not using bind variables).
In v$sqlarea, I can see 100s of thousands of SQL like
SELECT a, b, c FROM table1 WHERE some_column = 'VALUE1' with only VALUE1 replaced by different values (nothing else changed).
Third party software cannot be changed (no surprise there !!).
Is it possible to get around this issue using database settings? OCI settings?
I know, if we change the database parameter CURSOR_SHARING to FORCE, this issue can be addressed. But that will affect all database and we will need to do impact analysis of this change on everything which runs on the database.
Are there any OCI settings or parameters (or something like that) which can do same effect as CURSOR_SHARING=FORCE, but only for the OCI processes/batches ??
    Any thoughts are most welcome.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The whole problem is, I don't have access to the code which uses OCI. I cannot modify the code to set CURSOR_SHARING=FORCE, as it is third party code.
Is it possible to achieve the same with some setting in some configuration file?
E.g. if you have a glogin.sql file in $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin, every time you run sqlplus, after you login, this glogin.sql file will be executed automatically
Is any such thing possible with OCI programs? i.e. when a program using OCI starts running using certain client installation, we want to run some commands.
If that can be achieved, my problem is sorted.

  • OCI Interface With PM

Hello good afernoon, we are trying to setup a OCI interface between Plaint Maitenence to be able to punchout catalogs from a external vendors into workorders.
The problem I´m facing is with the parameter USERID, because the SAP field,  FIELDVAL has only 30 Characters long and I need to introduce here a string with more than 30 Characters, I thought this will be just the same as URL when I can capture the URL on several lines. Íf I use several times the parameter UserID  the URL to get into catalog interpret the second part again as another UserID parameter.
Is there an alternative to be able to captute more than 30 characters on this field?
The IMG Path I´m using to do this is:
*Maintenance and Service Processing > Maintenance and Service Orders > Interface for Procurement Using Catalogs (OCI) > Define Catalogs.*I also assigned the catalog to work order class I am Using on transaction IW32, when I hit the CATALOG button I´m getting

  • Account Password Changed When Using OCI Drivers With WebLogic 6.0

    Hello all,
Could be I am losing my mind but I saw some strange bahavior and I was wondering if anyone could offer an explination. We're running BEA WL6.0sp2 on an HPUX box with both an 8.1.7 client and server installation for development. We noticed that when we try to use the OCI driver to connect to our database, the password for our account is being changed on connection. This is definitely repeatable as we demonstrated it for the DBAs while they yelled at us. I highly doubt there is anything in WL that would cause the problem and everything works fine with the Thin drivers, with the JDrivers provided by BEA and with the credentials from SQL+.
Our problem is we need the Layer 2 OCI support. Is there something in the OCI client installation that would cause this behavior?

  • The efficiency of oci program with OCI_COMMIT_ON_SUCCESS

I have write a demo program to insert 1000 row data into a tab.

As wel the commit in the pl/sql block is executed as part of one pl/block executed on the server.
If you do the execute in oci from a client app, you have as many roundtrips as execution...

  • Compliance with Oracle HRMS HeadCount Budget

    Hi All,
Hope all of you are doing great in your lives,
I have done a minimal set up of Headcount Budget in Core HR at both position and organization levels and now I need to set up compliance/encumbrance for these budget values. As I have studied and researched so far, core HR provides this through configurable

Secondly can we create our own configurable business rules, how?

  • OCI Application with 1000 threads

    Hi All,
I just created a simple OCI program which creates 500 threads (using OCIThreadCreate call) . The threads do nothing except sleeping for sometime and then exitting. After some threads are spawned (number very non-deterministic) the application aborts. The debugger say the segv was received in pthread_join indicating some problem in OCIThreadJoin. Anyone having seen similar issues and would like to share thought/suggestions here would be great. Amazingly, the application runs well with number of threads set to 301. If this number is increased to 302, thats when the application starts aborting. The machine I am using is a linux machine with a reasonably good configuration so I dont think number of processes etc could be an issue here.
Any inputs ? Bug in OCI ?
    Thanks,
    Sumit

Actually, there is quite a huge bug in my sample code (which also exists in the original post). There is no counter for the actual number of threads created. The reason the crash is happening on pthread_join (both naturally and beneath OCI) is because we're trying to join threads which haven't been created.
Corrected code, with a thread counter, resides below:

Technically other than some [XCM settings and configuration|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/2f/86653fac7ab21ae10000000a114084/content.htm] that define the external catalog URL, there isn't much needed to integrate a OCI compliant catalog - provided, you already have a OCI compliant catalog.

    Any suggestions?
