OCM problem
Hi,
today I faced strange problem with OCM(Oracle conneciton Manager)
I installed OCM on separete server and I used to manage connection to my databases, however the server crash and we have to reboot that server and start the OCM again, but the OCM didnt register all my database, and on the service section it doenst show any database or service name except the OCM default services, so I have to rebounce all my databases to get them connect with OCM and user can start using it, and it works fine later, but this is not acceptable for me if it happened during the day.
Is there any other way to register database with OCM without rebounce the databases itself?
i tried to change the dispatcher value, maybe if i wake it up, it will register with OCM but no hope.
please advice?
OCM is on 10.2
OS is linux.
thanks.
In CC01,
Wherever you donot have the check box, it is ment to be active.
For the materiail we have a different feature called change -->schedule, i.e. means with out chnage master also we can effect the chnage in the future?
Is it available for BOM?
Material number is general, even when you donot impliment ECM should be in the position to get the desaired data.
When we have BOm/Routing i.e.means we have full data for ECM.
In case of materail the advantage is we can get all data except that if you activate ECM, you can restict the chnage by release key.
In os27, even when you switch off ECM for BOM, in CS01 you cannot see change number field, but in MM01 it is available?
Hence for some objects it is alredy active.
your second questionn is Work centre
In case of work centre, changes are captured in a different way in IMG.
In OP40- change doc activation is there.
Chan ges which will affect the dependent object is the work center caoacity which are controlled by dates....hence may be the case.
This is purely my anlysis.

HI FRIENDS,
IN TRANSACTION <b>CC01</b> WHEN WE GO TO OBJECT TYPE USING <b>'WITH RELEASE KEY'</b>, WE FIND CHECK BOXES IN FRONT OF BOM, ROUTING, REFERENCE OPERATION SET ETC.
NOW MY QUESTION IS WHY THERE R NO CHECK BOXES IN FRONT OF MATERIAL. DOES IT MEAN WE CAN NOT CHANGE MATERIAL WITH RELEASE KEY. IF NO.......... WHY?????? PLEASE EXPLAIN....
AGAIN WHEN WE GO TO <b>CR02</b> THERE IS NO FACILITY OF ENTERING CHANGE NO. ALSO WORK CENTER IS NOT THERE IN OBJECT TYPE LIST IN ECM. DOES IT MEAN WE CAN NOT CHANGE W/C WITH CHANGE NO????????WHY????????????In CC01,

OCMS Installation User Credential Problem
During OCMS Installation at validating the credentials for the administrator account step i am getting this error;
"Oracle Administrator Credentials are not valid. Please re-enter credentials and try again"
but i am giving here UN: oc4jadmin & PW: manager1
through which i can login AS Control but this failed during OCMS installation
Please let me know the reason and solution
Thanks,
Waheed. My intention to reply this thread is just to share my experience with the same error when trying to install OCMS in a Solaris Sparc64 SunOS 5.9 Sun-Fire-480RSystem.
My first attempt was to install TimesTen and OCMS with a different Unix user than Oracle Application Server and I was getting the Credentials Problem, so I read this thread and tried most of the suggestions here.
First I re-installed AS and didn´t work; I tried using Silent mode as recommended in OCMS Release Notes, didn´t work.
With the ocms Unix user I was able to execute succesfully the following commands in the Unix prompt:
$ opmnctl status -port
saturn:6003
$ java -jar /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS/j2ee/home/admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:opmn://saturn:6003/home oc4jadmin oc4jadmin1 -validateURI
URI deployer:oc4j:opmn://saturn:6003/home is valid and connected
$ java -cp /tmp/validation-4.1.1-756.jar oracle.sdp.config.Oc4jAdminPasswordValidator deployer:oc4j:opmn://saturn:6003/home /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS oc4jadmin oc4jadmin1
true
$ java -version
java version "1.5.0_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode)
The results looked OK, then I notice in the file Undefname_Undefpurpose.04140636 that installation script was not getting the correct hostname and port!!
Take a look at the logs:
(Apr 14, 2008 6:37:37 PM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, Performing AS Admin Validation - User: oc4jadmin
(Apr 14, 2008 6:37:37 PM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS/jdk/jre/bin/java -cp /tmp/validation-4.1.1-756.jar oracle.sdp.config.Oc4jAdminPasswordValidator deployer:oc4j:opmn://localhost:null/home /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS oc4jadmin XXXXXXXXXX
(Apr 14, 2008 6:39:27 PM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.DisplayUserMessageAction, msg1, Display Message: Oracle Administrator credentials are not valid. Please re-enter credentials and try again.
If you look carefully, you will see deployer:oc4j:opmn://localhost:null/home ... localhost:null when it should have been saturn:6003
I haven't installed Oracle AS and OCMS other than Solaris, but you should get a similar log file for the installation for other OS, where you can compare or verify what I saw in my case.
So, what I finally end up doing was to install TimesTen and OCMS with the same Unix user as Oracle AS which installed succesfully.
Take a look at the log file:
(Apr 15, 2008 11:05:28 AM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, Performing AS Admin Validation - User: oc4jadmin
(Apr 15, 2008 11:05:28 AM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS/jdk/jre/bin/java -cp /tmp/validation-4.1.1-756.jar oracle.sdp.config.Oc4jAdminPasswordValidator deployer:oc4j:opmn://localhost:6003/home /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS oc4jadmin XXXXXXXXXX
(Apr 15, 2008 11:05:34 AM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, OPMN PORT: 6003
(Apr 15, 2008 11:05:34 AM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, AS TTLib Path: /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS/j2ee/ocms/applib
If you look carefully again, you will see that now I had deployer:oc4j:opmn://localhost:6003/home ... not saturn:6003 as I expected, but at least the correct port and the installation process continued succesfully!!!
Hopefully this helps or gives some new ideas!

Problem getting Dataservices running on OC4J 10.1.3.1
I'm having problems getting the Data services working
correctly on an Oracle OC4J 10.1.3.1
I followed the guidelines as described here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flex/2/install.html#oc4j
and some of the samples seem to work, the Collaborative

But when I try to run the notes sample I get this error in
the console, each time I try to send something:

Can anyone help me with this? I tried contacting Oracle, but
they bounced the ball back to Adobe...OCMS stands for Oracle Communication and Mobility Server and is basically a SIP Container embedded as a hook into OC4J 10.1.3.1. I'm using JDK 1.5.0_12-b04. Wondering if there's any other way to check configuration of the JSP compiler.
Thanks for your help,

Problem migrate zones solaris 10
Hi,
i'm trying to migrate one non-global zone from one machine to another machine. The steps I have followed are:
1) On the machine where I have the zone that I want to migrate:
# zonecfg -z myzone export -f /myzone.cfg
# cd /export
# find zones/myzone -fstype lofs -prune -o -fstype ufs | cpio -ocm -O /myzone.cpio
2) On the second machine, I have copied the myzone.cfg and myzone.cpio, and after:
- I modified in myzone.cfg the option set physical with the correct one for this machine
# zonecfg -z myzone -f /myzone.cfg
# cd /export
# cat /myzone.cpio | cpio -icdm
# cp /etc/zones/index /etc/zones/index.bak
# perl -pi -e 's/^myzone:configured/myzone:installed/' /etc/zones/index
[root@pontevedra]# zoneadm list -icv
ID NAME STATUS PATH
0 global running /
- myzone installed /export/home/zones/myzone
But I have a problem when I boot the zone:
[root@pontevedra]# zoneadm -z myzone boot
zoneadm: zone 'servicio-zone': mount of /proc failed: No such file or directory
zoneadm: zone 'servicio-zone': call to zoneadmd failed
I don't know what happen... can anybody helpme?
Thanks a lot in advance!Hi Darren,
Thanks God I've succesfully installed Solaris 10 to my laptop, after "swimming" for a while in google :)
It said that this was a bug of Solaris 10 when installed in PC with Pentium III or II processors.
Here is the solutions (hope someone with same problem with me could find it useful) :
1. After the GRUB menu appears, edit the kernel line then append -kd at the end (to enter kmdb upon boot), then boot
2. Then type this command when kmdb prompt shows, [0]>
[0]> cmi_no_init/W1
[0]> :c 3. It should boot and run without problem, then follow the installation menu and option
4. After reboot, again follow step 1 & 2 when GRUB menu shows. I promise this is the last time :)
5. To make it permanent, add this following instruction to */etc/system* once the system up
set cmi_no_init=1//Henry -

Oracle Configuration Manager problems 64bit Linux
I recently installed Oracle 11g 64 bit on a 64 bit Linux server. This server is in every way the same as the old server, except this one is running AMD64bit and 64bit version of the OS. I had OCM running great on the other server, but when I try and install it on this one, I get the errors below. I'm guessing this is a 64bit problem as I have run into a few other problems I had to solve due to using Oracle 64bit and a true 64bit OS. Any help on this would be appreciated as I would love to have OCM back up and working again.

Hi,
OCM(outbound connection Mgr) Counters are increasing & we have found that ACE is reseting client connection. I have found following bug. Currently we are running A2(1.1a). Anyone there hit by the same bug. Your experiences on this are appreciated.
CSCsr96168
Connection Free List Corruption
Symptom: New TCP connections are sometimes reset. Conditions: ACE module running A2(1.1a) Workaround: Downgrade to A2(1.1) Further Problem Description: This problem is suspected when `show np 2 me-stats -socm` shows the following counter incrementing: OCM Statistics: (Current) -------------- Drop [out of connections]: 14455 16

Regards,
AkhtarHello Akhtar,
You've probably noticed that the "Drop [out of connections]" counter referenced in the bug is not shown in the output of your commands. This means that this counter is currently at zero. It will only be shown if it has a non-zero value. Therefore, this implies that this counter is not going up.
Also, from the output you supplied, nothing looks alarming to me that would indicate the cause of the resets. Here is how I would recommend you proceed:
If possible, upgrade to a newer software release. The release you are on is quite dated now and there have been hundreds of software fixes since that release. Further, the A2(1.x) software train will no longer have any maintenance updates. Upgrading to A2(2.3) may be the quickest solution for you if you are hitting a bug on the ACE.
If you cannot upgrade, or you upgrade and the issue persists, then you should gather the following information:
Get a showtech from the context in which the VIP resides
Start a capture of the ACE tengig port(see not below)
Run some test connections to replicate the RST
Stop the capture
Get a second showtech
Now you will be able to look at the connections in Wireshark, and compare your two showtechs to see what, if any, error (or Drop) counters increment. If necessary, please open a SR with Cisco TAC for expert analysis.
NOTE: In order to do the Tengig capture, you would need to configure SPAN on the Supervisor. The source interface would be Te/1. So for example, if your ACE is in slot 3, then the source interface of your monitor session would be Te3/1.

Problem with access to SipFactory from jsp-pages in JBoss environment
Hello!
I have an installation of the OCMS 10.1.3.3. deployed into a JBoss (jboss-4.0.5.GA) environment. Unfortunately I have a problem with accessing the SipFactory from a jps-page. Encouraged by the "messagesender" example I tried to get an instance of SipFactory from my jsp-page simply by calling:
SipFactory sipFactory = (SipFactory) application.getAttribute(SipServlet.SIP_FACTORY);
But unfortunately there seems to be no attribute "SipServlet.SIP_FACTORY" and I only get a null pointer. I have also tried running that code in the orignal messagesender example but it didn't work either. So I wonder if this should definetely work in a JBoss environment or if this might be a known problem. Is there anything that I could check/do regarding this problem? I suppose there must be an oracle module which should take care of making the SipFactory availabe after it is deployed. Perhaps something went wrong during the deployment?!
Best regards,
TimHi
On JBoss, OCMS does not support converge applications.
I.e the SipFactory can be retrieved from the servlet context when running on OC4J.
Instead the SipFactory can be found in JNDI as described in the Developer's Guide:
"External Access to SIP Servlets
To enable convergent applications between SIP and HTTP, the OCMS Container allows you to get access to the javax.servlet.sip.SipFactory by looking it up through JNDI. The SIP Factory will be registered under the same name as the display name of your SIP servlet as illustrated in Example 2–12. The <display-name> in the sip.xml in this case must be "My sip app".
Example 2–12 Accessing the Data for a SIP Session through JNDI
InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
SipFactory sipFactory = (SipFactory)ic.lookup("sip/My sip app");"

Hi,
I am installing Oracle9i RAC on ia64 servers RHEL4. I have installed JDK patch 5390952 and clusterware/DB patch # 4547809
Ocm is running fine. When I try to create database with dbca, it stops at 37% and displays messages - "ORA-01503- CREATE CONTROLFILE FAILED" "ORA-01565-ERROR IN IDENTIFYING CWMLITE01.DBF" "ORA-27047 UNABLE TO READ HEADER BLOCK OF FILE". After this installation stops.
I tried changing size of cwmlite01.dbf etc but it does not help.
Appreciate any help on this.Hi user644753
Did you apply also your patch set on your cluster ?
Can you manage to create the database manually?
It seems that the creation of the control file is failing, read that:
Doc ID: Note:1077033.6
Subject: ORA-01503 And (ORA-01160 ORA-01110) Or (ORA-01565 ORA-27406)
Problem Description:
====================
You are attempting to recreate the controlfiles for an existing database.
During creation you may see the following errors:
Case 1:
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-01565: error in identifying file '/u02/oradata/RM805/system01.dbf'
ORA-27046: file size is not a multiple of logical block size
- or -
Case 2:
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-01160: file is not a data file
ORA-01110: data file : '/u02/oradata/RM805/system01.dbf'
Solution Description:
=====================
Adjust the DB_BLOCK_SIZE parameter accordingly:
- If you received the errors in Case 1 (ORA-01503, ORA-01565, and ORA-27046),
you should decrease the value specified by DB_BLOCK_SIZE before you attempt
to recreate the controlfile.
- If you received the errors in Case 2 (ORA-01503, ORA-01160, and ORA-01110),
you should increase the value specified by DB_BLOCK_SIZE before you attempt
to recreate the controlfile.
Explanation:
============
Both cases occur due to an incorrect setting of the db_block_size parameter in
the "init.ora" file.
Case 1: The specified db_block_size in the "init.ora" is too large.
Case 2: The specified db_block_size in the "init.ora" is too small.
The database blocksize must be specified correctly in the init.ora in order
to successfully recreate the controlfile.

OR
The information in this article applies to:
Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 8.1.7.4 to 9.2
This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
Getting
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-01160: file is not a data file
ORA-01110: data file : '/oralce/oradata/TRDPS/rbs01.dbf'
when trying to create a controlfile
Even after setting DB_BLOCK_SIZE parameter to correct value referring to Note:1077033.6
Changes
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-01160: file is not a data file
ORA-01110: data file : '/oralce/oradata/TRDPS/rbs01.dbf'
Errors while trying to create a controlfile.
Confirmed that it is a datafile and is not corrupted.
And db_block_size is set to correct value. (verified from the output of DBV on the datafile)
Cause
Most likely the file will be from a different incarnation after an open with resetlogs.
Fix
Copy all datafiles from the same incarnation as the system datafile and try creating the controlfile again. -

OGG-00868 SQL Server 2008 has problem with ODBC in the EXTRACT process
Hello Everyone
I want to replicate tables between MS SQLServer 2008 and Oracle 10g
I have Windows XP / MS SQLServer 2008 and Oracle Database 10g R 10.2.0.1.0 running on Red Hat Linux
I followed the steps from the white paper (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/datawarehouse/oracle-sqlserver-goldengate-460262.html)
and Installed Oracle Golden Gate Version 11.2.1.0.1 (for Linux) and the Version 11.2.1.0.1 32bits (for Windows XP)
I followed all steps of the white paper without problem and I could do the initial load in
the Oracle Database from SQL Server sucessfully.
But when I tried to set and start the Extract process from SQL SERVER
a error was generated in the file c:\gg\dirrpt\MSEXT.rpt and the process is ABENDING

JuanHello mb_ogg,
Yes, I had created a Data Source HR Driver= SQL Server (second Tab System DSN) and I also had tried with
the driver SQL Server Native Client 10.0 but I faced the same error.
The database by default is EMP
Below is my configuration
Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver Version 03.85.1117
Data Source Name: HR
Data Source Description:
Server: JUAN-XP
Database: EMP
Language: (Default)
Translate Character Data: Yes
Log Long Running Queries: No
Log Driver Statistics: No
Use Integrated Security: Yes
Use Regional Settings: No
Prepared Statements Option: Drop temporary procedures on disconnect
Use Failover Server: No
Use ANSI Quoted Identifiers: Yes
Use ANSI Null, Paddings and Warnings: Yes
Data Encryption: No
I also clicked on the button "Test Data Source" with the below messages:
Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver Version 03.85.1117
Running connectivity tests...
Attempting connection
Connection established
Verifying option settings
Disconnecting from server
TESTS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY!
Then I went to Database Properties (Right Click) /Oprtion and Recovery model field has Full value
I also made a Backup (Backup Type = Full)
The Backups was made to Disk: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Backup\EMP.bak
Today I repeated the same steps and I got the same error (I Copied at the end):
I also have the follow question:
Is necessary define the location of the backup of MS SQL Server to say to GG where it can get it?
