OCMS Installation High Latency sending messages

Hi, I have installed OCMS a VMWare Virtual Machine With Windows 2003 Server SP1. OCMS here is on JBoss Application Server. Everything work ok, but, when i send messages with remote clients it takes too much to get to the other communicator side. What can it be ? taking into account that im working a LAN network.
thanks for any help

Thanx Jeff!
and sorry for replying so late
like with many other things, reading notes carefully can help a lot
problem was solved by setting
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1
for sapinst as described in sap note 722273

  • I feel 8.02 is less responsive and has higher latency!

After installing 8.02 and 10.5.3, Logic feels less snappy, has higher latency and has graphical glicthes when a big project is loaded.
Also, when recording in loop mode and when the playback cursor goes back to the beginning of the loop, the recorded notes are all messed up (like Ableton Live)
Also, when dragging a selection in the arranger, the (dragged) selection jumps all the way up or down? (bug?)
8.02 has various other tiny glitches.
Also, the Sculpture synth uses way more CPU since the update!
Good thing: projects load up extremely fast
I have no problems with the Overload Message but then again, I never saw them, ever in 8.0 or 8.01
I did a repair permission before and after each update (update OSX, Logic and Apogee Duet) and flashed the PRAM after all the updates.
I do not use third party plugins.
What am I doing wrong? Because I read all good things about the new Apple updates. However, I am not experiencing them, except for the faster loading times

I have the same latency problem since updating, and only in Logic (not Cubase). I reduced the midi latency when I uncheck, "Universal Track Mode," which is supposed to remain checked, in Audio pref., and turning off any sends on that track while recording.
Now there's a whole new problem of rerouting outputs to high number Double busses (bus 29-30) that never existed before when I reopen a project or start a new one from a template.

  • ISE 1.2.1 Complaining about High latency - can´t figure out why.

    Hello!
my 2 node (16 core, 32 GB Ram, SAN) ISE installation on VMWARE is, complaining about High latency. I have about 250 Test clients connected, and the VMWARE guys can´t seem to find anything wrong. Is there anyway to get a more detailed test WHAT actually is causing this high latency? CPU´s are idling, ram is at 2% and disk I/O is almost not messurable.. but the software is still complaining. (the Dashboard shows latency at 100+ ms) I think this might be the external CA, againt which the client certificates are run. but I don´t know if I can test this theorie!
I have 2 Hardware Appliances coming, but I thought my Test enviroment should be more then enough to handel 250 clients.. I am abit concerned about the going live with 5000 clients in the future.. if it is already complaining with 250 active clients.
and yes, I will be splitting the tasks up between the 2 Physical Boxes (Profiling and such) and the 2 VM Boxes (Management) but at the moment, for 250 clients the 2 VM´s should be enough.

I have a couple of my customers complaining about this as well. I believe it is cosmetic and it is due to this bug CSCup97285
The suggested action for this alarm in ISE is:
Check if the system has sufficient resources, Check the actual amount of work on the system for example, no of authentications, profiler activity etc.., Add additional server to distribute the load
I have confirmed with both clients that the appropriate resources were allocated and reserved in VM. In addition, neither client is reporting any issues so this leads me to believe that it is just a cosmetic bug.
Thank you for rating helpful posts!

I can receive and send messages just fine to individual people, but in the group my messages won't send.

I just want to be able to IM people. I already updated IE/re-installed skype. This isn't a problem on my end, it just started breaking randomly. My internet connection is fine and skype isn't broken, as you can tell by the fact that I can still send individual message.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi. Due to the skype customer service system being total and complete astronomical **bleep** my friends and I struggled with this for ages and found some easy fixes and an answer to what we think is wrong.
    First the answer:
Everyone in your group has to have a fully updated skype, everyone, even on their phones, or laptops or tablets or w/e. Every single person has to be fully updated.
I won't even start explaining why that's stupid or begin to question why skype, in all their glorious incompetence, didn't force roll this update.
That being said if you're still having trouble update internet explorer, because skype is dependent on outdated, unused, insecure technology.
    The reason:
As far as I can tell skype switched recently how they control chat rooms with multiple people in it. I believe originally skype would randomly choose a host and a co-host (not the ones assigned as roles in the room).
When skype released their most recent update they changed their groups from being ran by your peers (the host and cohost) to being cloud hosted. This means that if not everyone is updated some people are referencing the cloud chat, some people are referencing the regular chat.
These skype roles are invisible to the users and if one (or maybe both) are not updated then the skype group won't work.
This is just a guess based on what I've observed. I don't care enough about skype to properly research it but
TLDR: Everyone in the group must be fully updated ON CREATION OF THE GROUP.
Seriously how many programmers does it take to write a group message room, basically my high school computer science final project.

  • Error when sending message: Method not implemented

    Hi, All:
We have newly setup system and when we test sending test message from RWB, (RWB-Component Monitoring-Integration Engine-Test Tab), we got following error:
"Error when sending message: Method not implemented", I know this is related to post configuration issue, I just know someone has come cross the situation and how it was resolved.
    Thanks
    Liang

    HI Liang
Yes it looks like post installation problem. I have not come across this but i think you should check with the RFC created for IE while installation. To connect IE & AE and even the exchange profile if something is missing
    Thanks

  • Extremely high latency from 4am - 12pm in Baltimore, MD

Lately for the past month I have been getting extremely high latency 1500ms+.  I am directly wired to the Actiontec router using a new cable on a confirmed working lan card.  I believe the problem maybe at the POD card.  How would I go about proving to Verizon without going through numerous transfers of people that don't have a clue?

I had the same problem since Mid-June. Seems like it's anywhere in North Eastern United States. I myself is located about 20 Minutes from Washington DC. I get the latency right around 12~50 ms on first hop to Google or verizon.net on a good day with trace route test. The people in Verizon tells me that's normal but I don't buy that because my neighbor gets around less than 20 ms, never higher. It gets progressively bad around prime time and onward. Around 12 AM it can reach from 100~400 ms on latency to Google or verizon.net server.
I am a late night gamer and need that low latency badly. Seems like most of the people I have talk to from FSC (Fios solution Center) had no idea what is the difference between Bandwidth to Latency. They just call it "Speed". I have spoken with these people for almost every night for a month and a half, when I get a hint that they have no idea what they're talking about, I just hang up and call another one up or just request a supervisor to speak with.
Here is my trace route result, I have highlight the part that are unacceptable.

I'm going to list the things I have done so that perhaps if you are having the same issue, maybe you can anticipate or maybe save you time with this issue.
    Replaced Router
This will be my 3rd Router in my possession. The odds of having 3 bad routers are astronomical but yet FSC will try to keep sending you more.
Replaced coax cable (twice), ONT, and splitter.
Once again, the problem still persist. To get these fix, I had total of 4 dispatchers. From the word of their mouth, they stated it's beyond their level and when it comes to latency the tech at verizon server will be the best people to help you.
Reset ONT by unplugging it for 5 minutes or more to pull up a new Gateway IP.
Appearently, someone were able to fix their latency issue this way but the results are mixed. Either it's a permanent fix or temporary fix or it made the problem even worse.
    Optimizing connection/wired connections
I have a gaming PC, when they ask to clear the cache to solve my problem, it's an insult. Not only it's irralavent, in order for the computer to bog down because of cache overload, I must possess a computer that is less than of Pentium 2 back from 1995.
    Anti-virus and FireWall
If these were actually the source of my problem then the high latency should be constantly bad.
Potentially hacked or other connection to your router.
While this problem can be an issue, I can see who uses the internet and even turned off the wireless. There's no way an uninvited person can slow down my connections.
The server that I am connecting to such as website and gaming server is not guaranteed by the verizon.
Yes, that is true but what are the odds of having google, verizon.net, altavista, gaming server from Steam, etc are having the latency issue all at the same time? It is as if they are blaming traffic problem on I-95 for having bad congestion on I-66. It's not relevant at all!
    Verizon in-home Agent
    Must I continue?
I will now list the solutions that others have found. Please keep in mind that these problems may not be relevant to you.
    1) Bad PON card
Good luck convincing the verizon that this is the issue. For this to be the issue, people from your neighborhood must experience the same problem. Sadly, the problem is the latency and most people will be completely unaware of the problem as long as they are "online". There were cases where group of people resolved the problem but unfortunately the problem came back again the next day because the network tech at Verizon decided to switch them back to the old one.
    2) Faulty hardware on rack
As far as I have been told, couple claimed that this has been the issue and was permitted to move their line into another rack.
    3) Switching Gateway IP
One have claimed that certain Gateway IP they have been assigned are bad. For example, the house you're trying to drive away from has a huge pothole so you have to go around it by taking a detour.
    4) Resetting the ONT by unplugging the battery
There has been claim that doing this for 5 mintues clears it up. What this actually does is it allows you to get a new Gateway IP and re-establish connections.
    5) They blocked my IP
Yes, this can happen. I have been blocked once or more perhaps because sometimes I like to purchase and download games from Steam. When I do download, it does so for about an hour to 3 hours depending on the size of the game. Whilst this is going on, my room mate watches movie on Netflex and perhaps download music on the side. Also I watch On-Demand (requires internet). Also not to mention sometimes torrent and other P2P downloads. Check to see if you are blocked.
    6) Last but not least, Verizon is purposely gimping our latency to squeeze budget.
There has been talks and speculations that since many primary account holders are not advance users. In otherwords, many would settle for just being "online". This supports the claims for having such a low standard for latency management in verizon. If so, Verizon must stop advertising their "fast" gaming gimmick that they display on their commercial.

  • Very high latency in fetching static files

Problem : Really high latency in fetching static files upon first request.
Environment : Weblogic V8.1 App Server and Web Server running using jdk1.4.2_13
    Mem Setting: -Xmx2048M -XX:MaxPermSize=1024M
Situaton: Restart the weblogic server, fetch a static file using " wget hostname:port/script.js". Comes back in around 100 ms for us. Then from browser we request "http://hostname:portname/Logon.do". Then again we do " wget hostname:port/script.js" and now it comes back in 400 ms. The above times are in our TEST environment. In PROD it is really worse 1300ms for one file !!!
    Tests:
Wrote a servlet to handle all static file (CSS,js,gif, jpeg etc) and all requests would go through this servlet. Did not solve the problem, latency is still high.
Wrote a test servlet to load about 1000 classes explicitly (Class.forName) and then fetched the static file with out accessing Logon.do from browser. Latency was high after loading classes. This lead to conclusion that it is number of classes we are loading which is causing the problem.
Ran application under JProfiler, Took a heap dump right after starting server. About 1300 classes loaded. Took a heap dump after fetching Logon.do. About 2100 classes loaded.
    Question :
    1) Isn't 1300 too high for just the server to start? (there are some classes loaded because of our references in ejb's)
    2) We use prototype factory to instantiate classes. All the interface and implementation definitions are specified in config file and it seems to load all the classes. May be we can change this. But what confuses me is that the response time was okay when we had 1300 classes loaded how come it became so bad when there were 2100 classes ?
If any body is using these same set of technologies, what is the average number of classes loaded on initial start up?
I am running out of options to test?

There's no way from what you posted that you could draw a conclusion that you are infected.
I totally missed that tracert, but from a ping response time, it looks healthy.
The packet loss, could easily cause your problem.
Does it consistently loose packets there ? Cause I've pinged it from here and got no loss.
Also remember that in this case, ping is also the time it takes the blizzard servers to response to your network message, so it could be local to blizzard, and ping might not detect that.
Have you tried a netstat -p tcp -b command too see whats active on your PC ? That could point you towards something local.

  • Enter and send message from portal

    Hi
I am able to allow user to enter rejection reasons using task TS20000139 (Enter and Send Message) when the user clicks the Reject button in SAP Gui. However when the user clicks Reject from the portal, the Enter and Send Message does not appear immediately. Instead it appears as a new task in the portal. Is there a way for the Enter and Send Message to appear immediately in the portal when the user clicks on the Reject button ?

    Hi Ronaldo,
    Also, as Jocelyn says...
    <i>Hi folks,
Actually advance with dialog will work under some specific scenarios from the UWL.
    1. If you are launching work items using WinGUI.
    2. If you are launching work items using SAPGUI for HTML and are on a high enough release .
In other words, it depends on the launch mechanism - not the UWL.</i>
    Try checking the launch mechanisms.

  • High latency causing problems... and frustration w...

I have a femtocell that requires the latency on any single hop on the internet to be less than 240ms, any longer than this and it drops my phone call. On contacting the supplier of the femtocell, they asked me to use Traceroute to see how long the path to a server was (I used Google.com) and many of the hops were over 240ms, some as long as 4922ms.
On scanning this forum, there are other users out there (mostly gamers) who are suffering from latency problems. Has anyone had any success resolving the problem? I can send copies of the Traceroute outputs that clearly show high latency between routers with addresses such as interconnect2-gig1-0.manchester.fixed.bt.net, core2-pos0-6-1-0.ealing.ukcore.bt.net and core4te-0-7-0-0.telehouse.ukcore.bt.net, to anyone that may be able to help.
The best I've so far had from BT is that:
    - It's a problem with the femtocell supplier: no, the supplier requested from ISPs their longest expected latency prior to releasing the femtocell and set the timeout to be equal to this
    - It's a problem with my Mac mail: the fact that I use a Mac has absolutely nothing to do with network latency
    - There's interference between my mobile phone and my wireless: this isn't the case (I'm a wireless communications engineer by background) and, if it was, almost no-one would be able to use mobile phones given the number of wireless access points in homes and offices.
Every time I get a call from the call centre it's someone different, who doesn't understand the problem, doesn't know what a femtocell is and hasn't read the notes which clearly state that I want to be called on my mobile, not on my home phone. It's looking like my best option may be to try to find another ISP who doesn't have this problem.

I think you have the result of what is maybe a 2 fold issue.
Femtocell technology is still a relatively new technology as you;ll  know from your job.
If you think about the security issues of running a femtocell, that;s to say what it actually has to fulfil,
Security for femtocell networks spans several distinct requirements. The service provider must authenticate users as they arrive on the network. The RF link between the handset and the femtocell must be secured for both user and control plane traffic. And lastly, the mobile network traffic must be placed into a virtual private network as it traverses the wired ISP network to ensure that the traffic is protected while transiting this public network and only authorized users can forward traffic to the mobile operator's network.
There is however one very important element of femtocell security which makes the implementation significantly more complex. This relates to latency as you say, which must be carefully managed especially for applications such as VoIP/SIP. Compounding this challenge is the unknown nature of the latency across the ISP network, which has resulted in service providers requiring latency in the femtocell to be minimized, as you say.
If you add to that the fact that the BT broadband system is based on an algorithm packet handled system to ensure data quality across maybe noisy telephone lines, it all compounds to add to the problems of the running of the femtocell.
In other words if you have a highly error corrected and interleaved broadband line, it's not going to help the femtocell out by adding additional latency to what is already a fairly complicated situation where data handling is concerned....

  • What can I do to fix Mail software, which does not allow me to move messages around, save "drafts", receive or send messages?

My "Mail" software looks to have become corrupted, as I can't move messages around, save "drafts", receive or send messages.  The problem occurred after my Mac crashed and was re-started. Any ideas on what can I do to fix this? Any good suggestions appreciated!

The Mail program is probably not what is corrupted. That would be extremely difficult because it is not written back to disk. The problem is likely in your user data.
You could check that by logging into a different account (make one if you don't) and set up Mail in that account. If it works fine in that account then you have a problem in your user data.
To reinstall Mail, you'll have to get out your Snow Leopard install DVD and check if it is part of the Optional Installs. If it is not, you could use a program called Pacifist to extract the Mail installer. You'd then have to install the 10.6.7 combo Update to bring Mail up to current version.
What are the permissions on your Mail folder? Post output of this command you run in Terminal (just copy and paste):
    ls -ale ~/Library/Mail
ls is List. -a tells it to show hidden files/folder. l tells it to make a list with details. e tells it to list Access Control List entries.

  • Sync of send messages from iCloud to Mail blocks

    Hi all,
Since Apple had some problems with their iCloud service on June 18th, I experience very annoying problems with Mail.
When trying to sync mail with my iCloud account the "Send mail" box does sync everything properly, but the strange thing that happens every time is that the sync process as shown in the activity windows stucks. The progress bar remains halfway, the CPU usage of mail goes up to 200% and the fan goes crazy. I then can only "Force quit" the Mail program.
When looking at the "Send" box all send mail is shown, but only the headers, not part of the content.
When clicking on a message the contents shows up properly in the separate mail windows.
(sorry fot the Dutch text :-)
So everything syncs properly but it looks like a specific process hangs.
    I've tried several things:
Disabling Mail in iCloud system preferences
Deleting my iCloud account in Mail
Rebuilding all in- and out mailboxes
    Rebuilding only the "send mailbox"
Restoring the complete Mail directory in the Library with a (Time Machine) backup from an earlier date
Deleting info.plist in the Mail directory
Creating another user on my Mac and initialize my iCloud account in Mail again for that user
    Nothing helps.
So now every time I start Mail the normal steps are processed (as seen in the activity windows) but after a while it all ends up again as shown in the first image. (the progress bar pops up immediately halfway).
And I can only for a very short time check my mail, send messages before the CPU usage goes up again and the fan accelerates to a very high speed.
The only thing I can do then is "Force quit" the mail program.
    Any idea what causes this?
    Thanks for the help!
    Gert

There are ways to get Thunderbird to use the correct Sent, Trash, Drafts folders for iCloud mail. You'll need to google how to do that. Not super straightforward, but it works. Note that unless you correctly map these folders, the mail you send using Thunderbird will not appear in Sent items on other computers, I don't believe. It will remain local to the machine that sent it.
Anyway, there are a few other things you could try to fix Mail. I was about to do this myself, but my problem seems to have gone away.
Open System Preferences and create a new user account with Admin priveledges (i.e. call it Test or something). Close System Preferences
While still in your account, go to ~/Library and copy your entire Mail folder to /Users/Shared (make a copy; don't move it).
Log out of your account and log into the new account you just created.
Browse to the Mail folder in Shared and copy it to ~/Library on the Test account. If you have never launched Mail before on that account, I don't think there will be a Mail folder in that location already
From this point, since you are working from a COPY, you can start experiementing. Start Mail and see if it works normally (if it does, then there is probably something wrong in your Prefs in your account). Try deleting some of the mail folders and starting Mail again to see if one of them was causing a problem, etc.
I don't have any specific tips related to step 5 -- I was just planning on experiementing to see what was causing Mail to hang. And since this is a COPY of your mail, it should be completely risk-free.
Good luck and let me know if you make any progress.

  • Very high latency on my MBP 3,1 (mid 2007) with airport extreme card 0x168C

Obviously, my Mac has very high latency where my PC works as expected.
I tried resetting the PRAM, but i didn't affect my results.
I tried updating Airport with the latest AirPort Client Update (http://support.apple.com/downloads/AirPortClient_Update_for_MacBook_and_MacBookPro), but my hardware wasn't eligible for that update (Mid 2007 MacBookPro).
I believe this isn't a hardware bug because i get acceptable ping results when next to my router or in other rooms of my flat.
Can you help me with that bug ?

    Laurent

  • High latency in NLB unicast mode

    Hi Folks,
I have setup Exchange organization with two HUC-CAS physical server which are managed by NLB in Unicast mode.
facing issue with High latency on mailbox servers (database are equally distributed on both MBX server, mail queue's are normal, all ports are enable in NLB...)
Please let me know to reduce traffic without any service failure.
    Thanks in Advance = Kapil

    Hi,
As per the information and details provided by you, to solve the high latency in NLB Unicode mode, please follow these steps: -
    • During packet reception, Netork Load Balancing’s fully pipelined implementation overlaps the delivery of incoming packets to
TCP/IP and the reception of other packets by the network adapter drive.
    • This speeds up overall processing and reduces latency because latency because TCP/IP can process a packet while the network driver
interface specification (NDIS) drive receives a subsequent packet.
    • It also reduces the overhead required for
TCP/IP and the NDIS drive to coordinate their actions, and in many cases, it eliminates an extra copy of packet data in memory.
    • During packet sending, Network Load Balancing also enhances throughput and reduces latency and overhead by increasing the number of packets that TCP/IP can send with one NDIS call.
    • To achieve these performance enhancements, Network Load Balancing allocates and manages a pool of packet buffers and descriptors that it uses to overlap the actions of TCP/IP and NDIS driver.
    Network Load Balancing Performance.
The performance impact of Network Load Balancing can be measured in four key areas: -
    1. CPU overhead
    2. Response time
    3. Throughput
    4. Switch occupancy
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • OCMS Installation User Credential Problem

    During OCMS Installation at validating the credentials for the administrator account step i am getting this error;
"Oracle Administrator Credentials are not valid. Please re-enter credentials and try again"
but i am giving here UN: oc4jadmin & PW: manager1
through which i can login AS Control but this failed during OCMS installation
Please let me know the reason and solution
    Thanks,
    Waheed.

My intention to reply this thread is just to share my experience with the same error when trying to install OCMS in a Solaris Sparc64 SunOS 5.9 Sun-Fire-480RSystem.
My first attempt was to install TimesTen and OCMS with a different Unix user than Oracle Application Server and I was getting the Credentials Problem, so I read this thread and tried most of the suggestions here.
First I re-installed AS and didn´t work; I tried using Silent mode as recommended in OCMS Release Notes, didn´t work.
With the ocms Unix user I was able to execute succesfully the following commands in the Unix prompt:
    $ opmnctl status -port
    saturn:6003
    $ java -jar /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS/j2ee/home/admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:opmn://saturn:6003/home oc4jadmin oc4jadmin1 -validateURI
URI deployer:oc4j:opmn://saturn:6003/home is valid and connected
    $ java -cp /tmp/validation-4.1.1-756.jar oracle.sdp.config.Oc4jAdminPasswordValidator deployer:oc4j:opmn://saturn:6003/home /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS oc4jadmin oc4jadmin1
    true
    $ java -version
    java version "1.5.0_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode)
The results looked OK, then I notice in the file Undefname_Undefpurpose.04140636 that installation script was not getting the correct hostname and port!!
Take a look at the logs:
    (Apr 14, 2008 6:37:37 PM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, Performing AS Admin Validation - User: oc4jadmin

(Apr 14, 2008 6:39:27 PM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.DisplayUserMessageAction, msg1, Display Message: Oracle Administrator credentials are not valid. Please re-enter credentials and try again.
If you look carefully, you will see deployer:oc4j:opmn://localhost:null/home ... localhost:null when it should have been saturn:6003
I haven't installed Oracle AS and OCMS other than Solaris, but you should get a similar log file for the installation for other OS, where you can compare or verify what I saw in my case.
So, what I finally end up doing was to install TimesTen and OCMS with the same Unix user as Oracle AS which installed succesfully.
Take a look at the log file:
    (Apr 15, 2008 11:05:28 AM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, Performing AS Admin Validation - User: oc4jadmin
    (Apr 15, 2008 11:05:28 AM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS/jdk/jre/bin/java -cp /tmp/validation-4.1.1-756.jar oracle.sdp.config.Oc4jAdminPasswordValidator deployer:oc4j:opmn://localhost:6003/home /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS oc4jadmin XXXXXXXXXX
    (Apr 15, 2008 11:05:34 AM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, OPMN PORT: 6003
    (Apr 15, 2008 11:05:34 AM), Install, com.oracle.ocms.is.actions.CustomWizardLogAction, msg1, AS TTLib Path: /home/oraAS10g/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS/j2ee/ocms/applib
If you look carefully again, you will see that now I had deployer:oc4j:opmn://localhost:6003/home ... not saturn:6003 as I expected, but at least the correct port and the installation process continued succesfully!!!
Hopefully this helps or gives some new ideas!
    Cheers,
    Antonio
