OCP DBA Certification

dear friends.
I want to certificate OCP but i taked 2 exams in 9i and i will want to take two exams more in order to certificate.
If i will approve the next two exams. I will OCP but in 9i.
Can I will take only the exam in order to certificate in 11g, without take exam for 10g ????

Most questions about Oracle certification can be answered by going to http://education.oracle.com, clicking on the 'Certification' link to get to the Certification Portal, and following the appropriate path.
However, THIS question will only be answered once Oracle has published the rules for Oracle Database 11g Certification. I expect to see that information around mid-October.
In the past, Oracle has allowed OCP-8is to to skip 1 version and get tested for OCP 10g, so it is reasonable to assume they will again. But that is an assumption and you would be better off to monitor the 'Upgrade requirements' page periodilcally.

App. server Certification for OCP DBA

Greetings !!!!!!!!!
I am OCP Database Administrator in 10g,9i,8i and now I am planning to take the certification in App Server.
Can someone please tell me which exam should I write to get app server certified?
Do I need to write two exams or only with one exam I can get the app server certification?

There are two exams to get OCP Application server 10g DBA similar to the OCP Database 10g exams. The exam names are
Oracle 10g Application server Administration I
Oracle 10g Application server Administration II
If you clear the first exam you get 'Oracle Certified Associate OCA' certificate and after clearing the second exam and attending a Application Server Administration training from Oracle University will fetch you the 'Oracle Certified Professional OCP' certificate.
This is similar to the Oracle Database 10g OCP DBA program.

OCA11g to OCP 11g certification !

I have completed my OCA 11g certification. I would like to go for 11g OCP (i.e. IZO-053)
The constraints for 11g OCP are that candidates must complete one of the instructor-led online or in class courses below

SatishRightly or wrongly, as far as i know some WDP providers are provding WDP courses at 11g ... this may only be in some countries. (I think WDP only provides Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop I and II), but WDP programme can be a law unto itself). It may be an eligible 11g SQL is now available via WDP ... which might make a mockery of hands on training).
( My understanding back a few years ago at 9i WDP has to complete a complete end-to-end training track .... he width of the training perhapa compensating for possibly more guarenteed quality training from OU.
Anyway to answer your question .... a 10g course will not be acceptable for 11g DBA certification. (However in general most 11g courses should be acceptable for 10g DBA or 9i DBA certification).

Need infos on Oracle DBA certification exam

Hi all,
I want to pass an Oracle 1àg DBA certification exam but i don't know what exam should i have to pass. on 2005 i've already passed teh exam IZ0-001 SQL and PLSL for oracle 9i but now i want to pass an OCA or OCP certification. can some recommand me which exam should pass.
I mean can i directly pass exam for OCP or i have to pass the OCA exam befvore OCP.
I want to know if OCA is prerequisite exam to pass OCP.
Is there a documents or any link which explain that process.

Firstly, you must pass anyone of the below exams, they are non-proctored exams and you can take them by online. Take an account from http://www.pearsonvue.com/oracle/ and register anyone of the below exams.(Note:Enough only one exam you want)
1Z0-007Introduction to Oracle9i SQL or
1Z0-047Oracle Database SQL Expert or
1Z0-051Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I
And later yo will take "Oracle Database 11g: Administration I 1Z0-052" exam. If you pass this exam you will be an OCA.
After all you must complete one of the approved instructor-led online or in-class courses. This course is mandatory. After the course is finished you must take
"Oracle Database 11g: Administration II 1Z0-053" exam.
And the end you are an OCP, congratulations! :)

So can I attend Oracle 10g DBA course (Mandatory Course) and attempt DBA Certification for 11g. (1ZO-052 and 1ZO-053)

Vikrant PatilYou can do these thing, and Oracle will take your money for it, but you will receive neither 11g DBA OCP certication nor 10g DBA OCP Certification at the end of it. So it isnt what you would ant to do.
Oracle Unviersity would provide the 11g DBA training courses ... No problem.
however I suspect what you term oracle education centers are probaby institutes offering WDP Courses at 10g DBA (on the cheap). See http://workforce.oracle.com
If you do 10g training then that will only be valid for 10g DBA OCP Certification .. so you would need to take 1z0-042 and 1z0-043 (I guess you already have an SQL Exam pass). Then 1z0-050 can upgrade it to 11g DBA OCP.
(Note that it does not affect you, but the converse is typically true .... version X+1 training will often be acceptable for a version X certification.)

OCE: 1z1-054: passing beta exam without being 11g OCP DBA ?

I've question: can I take beta exam 1z1-054 (OCE performance tunning for 11g) without being 11g OCP DBA certified ? After sucessful passing of 1z1-054 I would go for 11g DBA OCP certification, and then submit hands-on-course... is it possbile? I'm aware that I wouldn't be allowed to claim that I've passed this OCE certification until I've gained 11g OCP DBA.

You do not have to be an 11g DBA OCP prior to sitting for the 1Z1-054 beta exam. As a matter of fact, you do not have to be an 11g DBA OCP to obtain this certification. You may also obtain the certification by completing the required training course. 10g DBA Certification Question

Back in August 2008, I passed the 2 DBA Certification Tests but as part of receiving the OCP certificate, I had to take one more course. Well, I never found a time to be able to take the course to receive the OCP credential. I was wondering if I can still take one of the approved courses and receive the OCP credential still. If so, I will take it this fall.
I have the OCA credential when I passed the first test. I passed the 2nd test a couple months later. I just never found time to take the class so, I'm hoping I can still do this and receive the credential.
Any feedback is appreciated.

ChrisYou may choose a course off of the course list for 10g DBA OCP ..... if these are becoming rare an equivalent 11g DBA may be accepted instead ... check first if you think you have specific case (but not vice versa for those seeking 11g DBA OCP a 10g course would not do).
You have until the certification expires to submit a course and get it verified.

How to prepare for OCP DBA exams

I am a graduate of geology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I got intereted in OCP DBA when i saw Jason Couchman book 'Oracle8i certified professional DBA certificaton Exam Guide' with a friend. i never had any experience in database before but when i started reading the book i could do one or two things.
Now, my goal is to get certified one day but the only constraint right now is how to. Can i prepare and pass by reading this book alone or do i have to get other materials?
If i have to get other material, i will appreciate it if it can be sent as getting them here is realy hard.

There may be several kind of interviews, when I conducted technical interviews I let the guy talk about a topic, and I start asking about particularities. For me it is very important how accurate and documented is. Need guidance for dba certification

I am new to the forum,I completed my Msc(comp) and joined as a trainee in one MNC company and they given training on Datawarehousing ETL tool (datastage)
now iam working as a developer on datastage.
and what my question is,i want to become a datawarehouse admin.
for that the Prerequisite is should be a database administrater.
So for that i decided that i want to do oracle9i dba certification.
So plz i am asking the opinions regarding my decision else give me the road map for datawarehouseing admin.

Reg Oracle Apps DBA Certification

Hi,
I am Certified for DBA on both 9i and 10g. Now I am planning to do Oracle Apps DBA Certification. Is that necessary I need to the Database Funda I and Funda II Exam again. Is that 11i Exam is alone is enough to be Oracle Apps DBA?

Since you are an Oracle 9i & 19g Certified, then you are directly eligible to write the Apps DBA Exam - 1z0-233.
Pre-requisite for 1Z0-233 exam is that one should have earned Oracle9i and 10g Database Administrator Certified Professionals can achieve an upgrade to the Oracle 11i Applications Database Administrator Certified Professional credential through passing the exam Oracle 11i Install, Patch and Maintain Applications - 1Z0-233.

You will have to take the following courses and eventually pass exams in each of these. I presume you are thinking of Oracle 8i DBA certification.
a) Introduction to SQL/PL-SQL
b) Oracle architecture
c) Backup and Recovery
d) Performance and Tuning
e) Network Administration
You can either attend Oracle classes or study on your own.
