Hi,
I am planning to give OCP certification. For paper code 1Z0-146 i am aware of the topics to be covered. I need some e-books using which i can prepare for this exam.
Can anyone tell me where can i find e-books for OCP certification?

OCP Certification booking

Having known the contents of the exam, the right material, blah blah, I would get down to the ultimate questions. What is the best way to schedule/book for my first OCP 9i exam? Is Oracle website's certification section the only choice or are there any other ? New Set of Books Required?

We are working on release -11.5.10.2
The structure is 1 OU,Multiple SOB since the currency is different,No MRC.
Due to certain additional business activity client want to split the business and hence thinking to create a new SOB with all the 3C's same .
My question is :
1)Is it required to create a new SOB in this case?Or is it possible to have the business activity separated in the same existing SOB?
2)What are the changes to be made if we have to make the necessary changes in FSG?
If we have to create a new SOB then what are the approaches to be followed and how does it will impact the FSG ?

anyhow. Hence you will be creating security for those
responsibilities.

Thanks for your reply .Here only one OU is defined and multiple SOB due to change in currency.So,no new OU is created with a SOB.
I just created 2 responsibilities for the 2 business and attached the same SOB for India operation.
The SOB retained earning and Translation adjustment account uses only one company value.
My question is " How does same SOB will take care of the new responsibility in terms of
1)translation,
2)retained earning account,(SOB have other company value)
3)transalation adjustment account,(SOB have other company value)
4)FSG report since the company value is different at the new responsibility."

OCP 9i Certification Requirements

Hi All,
i had finished all the following exams
1z0-007,1z0-031,1z0-032 and 1z0-033 along with all the below courses
ILT - Training
Oracle 9i Introduction to SQL Course
Oracle 9i fundamentals I Course
Oracle 9i fundamentals II Course
Oracle 9i Performance Tuning Course
i have submitted the Course Hands-on Requirements Form and it got Approved From Oracle on 26/06/2012
currently i'm an OCA 9i and still i'm not able to see my OCP on Certview , am i missing something here?
is there any more courses or training i need to attend or exam to finish?

If the course just got approved on June 26th (yesterday), then I believe the only thing you're missing is time. Give them a couple of days, maybe even a week if you're feeling particularly generous, in order to get all of the records updated.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Can 10g course be used for 11g ocp hands on requirement?

I recently cleared 1z0-051 and 1z0-052 and awaiting OCA certificate.
Can any one please assist and guide me on how to proceed to 1z0-053 as Oracle University in my area is not offering any 11g course yet; they are still offering 10g courses?
I do not see any 10g course on list of courses for 11g hands on:

My question is, should i invest on 10g hand on to pursue 11g ocp?

and checked your country and selected course schedule. I dont know what your country is but i see both India and Saudi Arabia are offering 11g courses.
You could try contacting your local Oracle university by phone, other options might be a Live Virtual Class instructor led course which i believe still satifies the requirement, or attending a course out of country / area.

In my opinion probably not. But I dont know your exact situation.
One option would be to sit 1z0-042 .. ( i think the topics are 80% common with 1z0-052) , so if your head is currently filled with 1z0-052 then its possilby not too difficult to adject to 1z0-042 ... checkout the topics. You could then take 1z0-043 , take 10g training to get your 10g OCP, then take 1z0-050 to get your 11g OCP. Thats a long way round and a lot of exams to get to 11g OCP from where your are, and if you've not much experience of earlier versions of Oracle you might want to stick with 11g so you dont get confused between slight differences between the two.
Another thing to note is that the 1z1-053/1z0-053 has today 30-jun-2009 finished beta ... so it will not now be possilble to take 1z0-053 until the production exam is released which should be sometime in september, and you may want to plan round that.
If you really cant see any 11g courses , and have contacted your local Oracle University, then you could go to [www.oracle.com/education/certification] and look up the FAQ's under support and if your're really stuck then use support/contact-us.

9i OCP hand-on requirement fullfillment

Hi ,
I have completed all the 4 oracle exams for OCP from prometric. For the hands on requirement I am trying to submit it through Pearson VUE and in the last screen it is asking for a 7 digit enrollment number.where as the training partner where I took the training has given a longer alpha numeric registration number.
Any of you know a solution to this please let me know.

I have one more question for you , I have also completed the "1Z0-040-Oracle Database 10g: New Features for Administrators" exam.But certview only shows my 9i OCP and the 10G OCP is not showing up.Does it involve any other prcocess to acquire the 10G OCP.

10g OCP hands on Requirement

Hell All,
Is it okay to have this (Oracle Database 10g : backup and recovery) course as hands on course to fulfill 10g OCP credential?
from below website i can see they have given it in the list but one of Oracle Office, to whom i'm communicating is not sure though.
Actually they have not (Oracle Database 10g : backup and recovery course) displayed it the main list but just below the list, there is SHOW/HIDE text, in that list they mentioned it saying if you do it for OCP exam then you cannot use it for OCM.
Bit confused. Any clarification would useful.
BTW i'm enrolling for LVC( Live Virtual course).

Yes, you can clear 1z0-042 first and then complete the course.
I Cleared 1z0-042 and 1z0-043 first and now enrolled for the above course.

Modification to SQL Scrap book requires query re-creation

In CR4E, SQL Scrap book is used to write the query and the select fields can be added to report. This is the equivalent option of Add Command option as windows version.
But we have encountered issue using the SQL scrap book in the eclipse version of plugin.
Issue description:
A report is created with 5 set of fields mapped out from SQL scrap book to layout. Now when developer needs to modify the query such as adding a field, when the query is modified in the scrapbook, new sql is created. There is option to delete the initial query. But all the associated that was made to the layout are also getting deleted. This means the data field from the query has to be re-laid out in the layout again.
This issue is currently only the eclipse verion of crystal reports and the windows version "Add Command" option works for the modification of the query alone. Thus we had to switch to the Windows version to get full developer productivity.

Generally speaking this is something in common with most of our SDK's. If you modify fields in your database query, such as adding or removing them or renaming them, it is likely that the fields from the report will be dropped when this happens. Since the Eclipse designer is based on the Java Print Engine, this is probably why you are seeing this behavior.
Using the Crystal Reports Designer to modify your query at design time makes sense as a work around for you because Crystal Reports has the capabilities of allowing you to do this.

OCP 10g/11g Required Course

I just submitted my Course for OCP11g (Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop II ), and got my OCP11g certification.
I whish to achieve OCP 10g also, but I have a question?
Since I submitted my COURSE ID for OCP11g, can I use the same course ID for OCP10g? Shoud I complete another course?
Can anyone help me?

I passed the 10g OCP exam... (1z0-042 and 1z0-043) However the certificate was not recognized.
My 11g OCP is ok...
Are you sure I do not need to submit the 11g Administration Workshop 2 for 10g OCP cert. Path??
Should I review any step? Can I submit the same course twice for different 11g and 10g certification path??
