I bought a 364 XL cartridge for my Photosmart 6510 printer, but it doesn't fit—it's too wide. Yet the User Manual I downloaded from HP (helpfully called c02983796) clearly shows an illustration of the XL cartridge fitting in the printer. Advice?

    Hi,
The HP 364 XL Black ink cartridge been updated in September 2010.
Take a look in the following document:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02750681&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en
If your ink cartridge is the older ink cartridge you shoulf contact the retailer to replace it.

  • New cartridge for HP Photosmart 6510 appears faulty

I have just replaced the old magenta cartridge in my HP Photosmart 6510 printer with a brand new one, from a 4-pack, and it is now telling me that one or cartridges appears to be missing or damaged. The new catridge appears fine and is vented, and repeat re-installations or switching off the printer do not help.  I have tried cleaning contacts but all looks very clean. I managed to get the printer working again with the old magenta cartridge until that definitely ran out, but now the same error is detected, leaving me with a printer which will not work even to print black-only.  I bought the original cartridge as part of a 4-pack from Amazon, so have little chance of returning the fauly cartridge (even if they accepted it was faulty).  Looks like I will have to get a new magenta one and hope that works, but in the meantime, has anyone any ideas how I can persuade the printer to work using just black?

Hello,  There could be two possibility for this issue,  Ink cartridge that you bought or the Printhead .  Try installing the old cartridge and check if the error shows up.If yes, then its an issue with the printhead, and the printer need to be replaced as the printhead is fixed part in this printer. If No, then the new cartridge is a faulty one, contact HP Tech Support for further assistance. If the new cartridge is HP Genuine, then iam sure Tech Support should  help you out in getting the cartridge repalced ( if you are in USA ). Please call HP Tech Support for further assistance.
If you are in US , the toll free # is 1-800-474-6836 .

  • Driver update for HP Photosmart 6510 e-All-in-One Printer - B211a using Mac OS X 10.10 YOSEMITE

Since I installed the last Mac OS X Yosemite ver 10.10 my printer is out of the driver update, besides the driver dowload page says it exist, but when I click on the version of my operating system 10.10, it only delivers for 10.9 which is Mavericks, missleading to dowload the wrong driver, Could somebody let me know how and when this issue is going to be fix? Are we going to be notified as this driver is available? That would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Hello, You can try Installing the OS X v10.10 Yosemite HP Print Driver from Apple Software Update. Hope this helps!

  • HP Photosmart 6510 not printing black after cartridge cchange

I see the issue of not being able to print in black after a black cartridge change is not new.  This is not the first time I have change the black cartridge but it is the first time I had this issue arise.  I have followed the various peices of advice and troubleshooting suggested to no avail.
    Troubleshooting done thus far:
Remove and reseat black ink cartridge
Run Clean Printer head tool several times...first used printer menu and then a few times using HP tool on PC
Run align print heads several times...first used printer menu and then a few times using HP tool on PC
Black either does not print or is very light, almost illegible.  Any other troubleshooting techniques?

For the Photosmart 6510 the troubleshooting steps in the document here may help.  Especially make sure the vents are cleared.  If that does not resolve the issue then resetting the printer as described in the post here may help.  If this does not resolve the issue then read the entire thread here and try requesting reset instructions.

  • Is HP Photosmart 6510 compatible with Windows 8?

Will windows 8 have drivers for Photosmart 6510 printer?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Windows 8 RTM  has already printer support for the Photosmart 6510 included without your CD.
    Step 1: on the Start screen, you know with all the Tiles, click Windows key+ C, to open the  side bar;
The side bar opens with Search
Step 2: enter "printer" in the search field (without quotes); you will see that there are 17 hits under Settings
Step 3: click now on Settings, you will see 17 tiles appear on the screen
Step 4: Turn on your printer that you have already conected to your router; since you migrate now from W7
Step 5: Select Advaced printer setup
Note: You may receive a warning from Windows about Network sharing, Turn Network sharing On.
If you want to verifiy: double click the Network icon bottom right on the task bar, the green sidebar opens, right-click network,  Then click Turn network sharing On or Off, follow the instructions
Step 6: a window opens that shows your network printer is on 192.168.xx.xx
Step 7: follow the onscreen instructions.
All in all, it is so easy, but difficult to find, that Microsoft may have included it in the W8 setup routine. Or at least some hints. Enjoy printing! -Eric

  • How to scan multiple pages with Photosmart 6510?

I am a new user of Photosmart 6510 All-in-One printer. Does anyone know how to scan multiple pages into one document?
    Thanks!

You can do multiple pages to one file by selecting Scan to PDF. You will have to start the scan using the HP Software. Follow the steps below to do a multipage scan.
    1. On the desktop, look for the Photosmart 6510 icon. Double click it
    2. Click Scan Document
    3. Click Save as PDF and the click Scan. The all-in-one will do a preview scan.
    4. Load the next document page on the scan bed
    5. Click the button with the plus sign on the lower left hand corner of the preview window. The all in one will scan the page. Keep doing this until you have scanned all the pages.
    6. Click on the Save button and follow the instructions on the screen.

  • How do I fix an error message of "failed to open a session on this devices" for my HP photosmart 6510 scanner?

how do I fix an error message of "failed to open a session on this devices" for my HP photosmart 6510 scanner?

    Hello Kwastfamily,
It sounds like you are unable to print from your computer to your printer. I would run through the troubleshooting steps in this article:
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3147
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Is there an OCR app for the Photosmart 6515

Is there an OCR app for the Photosmart 6515?

There isn't a iBooks application for Mac yet. However, Apple showed a preview of iBooks for Mac at the WWDC with OS X Mavericks, that will be released in fall, so you can be sure that iBooks for Mac will be launched

  • How to change the font on headers and footers for printer HP Photosmart 6510

How can I change the size and font style of the headers and footers on my  HP Photosmart 6510 e-All-in-One Printer series - B211

    Hi friend,
it's a really really strange tip... May be it's a Forms bug? I've tried with set_item_property..and.. you're right, it doesn't work..
So.. you can try making this:
    - create a visual attribute with an specific font size....
    - use the
    SET_ITEM_INSTANCE_PROPERTY('block.item',CURRENT_RECORD,VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'you_visual_attribute');
    and call it from psot-change....
    It works
    Hope it helps,
    Jose.

  • Photosmart 6510 e-ALL-IN-ONE Series offline

I can't get my 6510 all in one to go back on-line.  I have windows 7 on my hp laptop and use my android phone as my wireless connection - this has worked perfectly for the past two years.  I ran a wireless network test and the printer indicates PASS on connected.  I've shut my printer off and turned back on.  I did scan some pictures last weekend so I'm wondering if that has changed something.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Williamstw
I understand you are unable to get the Photosmart 6510 back on line.
I have provided a document for the printer being offline to take a look at.
