OCR: urgent

Hi,
Scenerio: My robot have to use the images it acquire of the surroundings and LabView will have to be used to perform OCR operation on these images and upon spotting the target(for example: the target is No:1) wanted, it wil then cause my robot arm to push the "number 1".. So i waswondering
how does i actually use OCR? what i did in NI vision currently.. Firstly, i Acquire the image then i threshold it, regarding thresholding( i was wondering how do i know what is the min and max values i need to set for the RED, GREEB and BLUE?? Then After that i WEnt on to OCR.. I kind of unsure what values i need to put in most of the settings.. I Knew i need to set the character file which i draw a ROI around "number 1" and saved it.. Then i use the NI Vision Assistant >> Tool >> Create LabView VI... Upon running the program , i'm not sure how do i know the program is functioning according to the way i wanted?

Hi Sena_Scott,
Starting with your question about how to set the min and max
values for a threshold. This is kind of
a trial and error. What values you
select is going to depend on your image.
My best recommendation is to try different values and see what seems to
work best.
As for how to use the OCR I am going to assume you don’t
have a charter set file. You will first
select the “New Character Set File.” In
the following menu you will highlight the region of interest (ROI) you would
like to recognize. The program will then
recognize the chanters but you must tell it what they are. On the right side of the screen there is a box
called Training. Select “Train All
Characters” from the list. You can then
type what the charters are in to the “Correct String” dialog box. Click train and then you can save the
file. This should set your OCR up correctly.
When you run the program does it seem do what you want it to
or not? Does it give you an error or simply
not work. Your best bet is to test it
and see how it responds.

Why can't I interact with Acrobat Pro XI while it is performing OCR on a set of large files?

I am running Acrobat Pro XI on a beefy MacBook Pro with lots of RAM and CPU to spare. I need to perform OCR on hundreds of pages of text spread across dozens of files. That understandably is time consuming and is not perfectly parallelizable.
However, why am I prevented from doing *anything* with Acrobat while the OCR process runs?
Two suggestions:
1. Allow the user to perform OCR on discrete files in parallel. (I realize this will consume additional CPU and memory.)
2. More urgently, allow the user to access non-OCR features of the application while OCR is in progress.

Maybe it should be 64-bit and have multi-threading capabilities . Understand the problems associated with that though and I won't hold my breath.

Shared partition creation (SAN EVA 4400) for OCR/Vote andASM on linux RHEL5

Hi all,
We are going to install database (Oracle 10g) with RAC on Linux Red Hat Enterprise 5. The storage we are using is SAN shared storage, out SAN vendor has finished to configure and present the dsk storage (500 Gb) to the 2 servers, the name of the volume group is VG_ORADATA. this volume will be used for OCR, VOting disk and ASM (database file).
Our problem is to create and configure the shared partition for the 2 servers.
Here is what i want to do, i want to create:
ocr_partition (25 Gb) : for OCR
vote_partition (25 Gb): for Voting disk
oradata_part1 (150 Gb): for database (ASM)
oradata_part2 (150 Gb): for database (ASM)
oradata_part3 (150 Gb): for database (ASM)
The problem is how to create these partiton an dto mount them for the 2 servers, what is the tools we have to use for this tasks. Can i use LVM (Logical Volume Manager) in linux for this tasks.

My thoughts.
1. Your OCR partition size is too high by several orders of magnitudes. Read the docs and size it appropriately.
2. Your Voting disk partition size is also far too large. Again read the docs and size it appropriately.
3. If you have RAC you have one and only one database (not 3)
4. ASM is not a database and requires no room on your SAN. ASM is an instance that must reside on your servers (nodes).
5. Where are you putting your flashback recovery area, archived redo logs, flashback logs, etc?
6. Where are you putting your online backup files?
7. If you have ASM throw the LVM away. It will do nothing for you other than eat CPU.

Logical command in ABAP.....Urgent

i am pretty new using ABAP program so i neeed help urgently. i am trying to move a file on the application server from one directory to the other and i was using the open dataset function to do that. but the file i am trying to move is pretty big and because i am using internal table to store, it is causing problems with the space.
i have consulted the basis guys and they have managed to create a logical file for copying from one directory to the other on the application server. to help you furthter. i am enclosing the mail sent to me.
I have created a logical command which should copy the file from one location to the other but you need to pass it the source dir and file name and the destination dir and file name.
The logical command is ZCOPY and uses cmd /c copy
Copies one or more files to another location.
COPY [/V] [/N] [/Y | /-Y] [/Z] [/A | /B ] source [/A | /B]
     [+ source [/A | /B] [+ ...]] [destination [/A | /B]]
source       Specifies the file or files to be copied.
/A           Indicates an ASCII text file.
/B           Indicates a binary file.
destination Specifies the directory and/or filename for the new file(s).
/V           Verifies that new files are written correctly.
/N           Uses short filename, if available, when copying a file with a
               non-8dot3 name.
/Y           Suppresses prompting to confirm you want to overwrite an
               existing destination file.
/-Y          Causes prompting to confirm you want to overwrite an
               existing destination file.
/Z           Copies networked files in restartable mode.
The switch /Y may be preset in the COPYCMD environment variable.
This may be overridden with /-Y on the command line. Default is
to prompt on overwrites unless COPY command is being executed from
within a batch script.

We are using print program SAPF130K and SAPF130D for vendor and customer respectively.
My query is can we bring even the cleared items alongwith the open items in the same print program???
Now we have line items of open line items only?? As per our exploration into the program... we get only open items..
Also we are using SAP10 and SAP11 as the correspondence type.Kindly advise as to correspondence type should be changed so that it can print both the open and cleared items?

FUNCTION IS NOT WORKING WHEN RUN IN SRW.RUN_REPORT, URGENT

I have a report. it has got 1 Query and 2 groups.

The Query looks like above. Now In the report I have a 3 User parameters . For Each record in G2 the functions Func4,Func5 and Func6 adds the value to the user parameters at the report level.
Now the Func1,Func2,Func3 takes the value of last 4 record for each item at each G1 Level and devides it by 4 and prints . As an example given below

This report takes an parameter which is part of the Where condition of the Query Q1. If I run this report from the report builder and provide the value for the parameter then the report runs fine printing the exact values. If I run the report from another report(which I have to do, due to circumstances) using SRW.Run_Report and pass the parameter in the same command. The the function FUNC4, FUNC5, FUNC6 does not do the addition, as a result the Func1,Func2,Func3 returns 0. I dont know why this is happenning .
This is very very URGENT, My project manager is on my head to finish it ASAP. Please help.

One reason that I sometimes get 'NoSuchMethodError' is when I make a change to a
java class that is imported into another java class. When I go to run the
importing class, it will throw a 'NoSuchMethodError' on any methods that I've
changed in the imported class. The solution is to recompile the importing class
with the changed classes in the classpath.

OCR with HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g

Hello: I have the "HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer model N911g" and read in the manual that it comes with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software. I can't find any OCR software on the accompanying optial disk "HP Officejet pro 8600 series, Windows XP, VIsta, 7, 8 version 28.8".
I'm using an HP Pavilion dv7 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium ver 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 build 7601.
I found an entry in All Programs called I.R.I.S. registration but can't figure out what to do with it. Any help is appreciated.

Urgent OSX data recovery question

Hello,
I am in urgent need of assistance with recovering some data. Long story short I have a XServe that had two 40gb ADMs in it. I successfully backed up each disk to DMG files, then upgraded the ADMs to contain 500gb modules. I then blew out the megaraid config and set the new drives up as mirrors. I am finding now however that one of the DMGs that wasn't supposed to contain anything critical actually did, and when I try to open it I get an error that "no mountable file systems" are in it.
To top things off, earlier today the original drive was readable, but I wanted to try and boot back to it to see how the server was set up before. I popped it back into its ADM, and via the Install CD in Terminal I ran "megaraid -create auto" to try and make it boot to it again. The problem is that not only did that not work, but since then the drive cannot be read via any means.
Essentially, I have a drive that thinks it isnt even partitioned any more and a DMG file that won't open, and it is critical that I get some data from it. Does anyone know how I could possibly repair one of the two? The files I need are under the Library folder in a very specific location.

The problem is caused due to the spaces in your directories
