OCS Installation problems - Server 2003

Hi,
I'm trying to install OCS on Server 2003, and receive the following error:
[0x80070011] The system cannot move the file to a different disk drive.
This error is received at the 'Deploy Server' stage.
Microsoft's Tech support is extremely minimal, and most of the Google results point to problems with Windows update.
I would be grateful if anyone had any ideas...

Here are some steps to temporally to make the system not automatically restart when the issue occurs.
Steps.
1. Right-click "My Computer" and select "Properties" on the desktop
2. Click on the "Advanced"
3. Click "Settings" in the area of "Startup and Recovery"
4. In the prompt dialog box, uncheck the "Automatically restart" in the area of "System failure"
5. Click OK.

I would like to evaluate Sinle Box OCS on windows server 2003 but I am having difficulty setting up and starting the OCS services.
I assume I have to remove the ORACLE_HOME env variable as well as place some services in manual per Thread 280554 but when I try are start services such Oracle Calendar Corporate services, and all the other calendar services I get errors as well as with Oracle OLAP 9.0.1.1, and othe webcache services. In the past, I tried to install release 1 of the collaboration suite on Linux...and even if I managed to reach the end of the installation process, i found huge problems running some components.
Now that the release 2 is out i'd like to give it a go again, but this time i'd like to start with the windows version.

Add-on installation problem in Windows Server 2003

Hi guys,
I have a problem when i want to install my add-on in the Windows Server 2003. The server gives me error :
Unable to load AddOnInstallAPI.dll
and when i try install using the same installer at the client station, everything is ok.
Does anybody have suggestion about that problem? I suspect the problem is the Windows' security that did not allowed me to load the .dll. Does anybody know how to set the security?

I've found an answer on the similar question here, on the forum, saying that Windows 2003 is not a supported SAPBO Client OS.
In my experience I could not even set a reference to SAPbouicom.exe with a message "cannot load DLL"...

Java2SDk 1.4.2.06 installation problem on Windows Server 2003

I tried the installation of Java2SDk 1.4.2.06. ,I tried this, but it fails to complete and NO directory folder is created so I cannot continue with the proccess. The OS is Windows Server 2003.

Installation problem with windows server 2003 64 bit

I downloaded all hyperion components from e-deleivery for windows server 2003 64 bit when i tried to install it a message said that some component are not compatible when i removed stratigic finance and FDM components the installation started and completed .in the configuration phase many components failed to configured and here's a copy of the log file:

Hi,
EDGE/Crystal Reports Server and Enterprise are no native 64bit applications. That does mean that they only run in 32bit mode. But you can install it on a 64bit hardware with a 64bit OS.

Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) Installation Problem on Win 2003 Server SP2

Hi,
I tried to install Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) on my Windows 2003 server SP2, however I couldn't manage to succeed this.
I tried on 3 different win2003 server SP2 machines and couldn't able to install properly.
I easily installed and run this HTTP server on my Windows 7 machine. However on the other partition of my PC
windows server 2003 is installed. It didn't worked on this OS.
Once I was somehow able to install OHS on my 64 bit Windows 2008 Server, but again never:((

A few guesses what could be wrong.
- Under which user are you installing, does this user have all the rights to create and start stuff.
- Have you first installed a weblogic server (this should be installed) and did associate any components with the weblogic domain?
I usually do not associate anything with my weblogic domain and configure the httpd.conf file for the Apache server by hand instead of using the enterprise manager.
Once the WebLogic server is installed i follow the following steps
Installation WebTier
Run setup.exe
Select Install Software - Do Not Configure.
Click Next.
Prerequisite Checks --> Next.
Accept the default installation directory.
Click Next.
Uncheck i wish to... click Next (in the pop-up Yes)
Click Install.
Click when the installation it finished and click Finish
Configuration WebTier
Run the file <WebTier-Home>/bin/config.bat.
Click Next
Uncheck Associate Selected Components with WebLogic Domain and click Next
Accept the defaults and click Next
Enter the parameters for the WebCache
Web Cache Administrator Password: password
Confirm Password: password
Click Next.
Select Auto Port Configuration and click Next.
Uncheck I wish to... and click Next. (pop-up Yes)
Click Configure
Click Next and Click Finish
When i follow the above steps an instance of the webtier is running.

Oracle 8 installation problem on windows 2003 server

while installing i'm getting the message "could not delete the windows nt services". The error is coming for the service "OracleTNSListener".
any solution?...
any info whether oracle 8 support has been stopped for all platforms/specific ones ?...where do i get that info ?....

Is there any work around to that? Basically I have to test an upgrade from 8i to 10g on a Windows Server 2003 w/ SP1. I am not sure on what platform that 8i database is running on because is at a third-party location.

Installation problem on windows server 2008 r2 datacenter edition 64bit

hi
today, i tried to install the current maxdb 7.8 release on my virtual server with a windows server 2008 r2 datacenter 64bit edition os. at the first installation, i got an error message something with "rte runtime error". at this point, the installation stopped.
because of this error, i tried to uninstall the failed installation. this was not possible, in the uninstaller, i didn't see any components, so i can't uninstall.
so i tried to delete the files manually: the entries in the start menu, and the application's path under "program files"... first, i need to kill a process named "serv.exe", that creates a tcp daemon under port 7200... after killing it, the deletion of the dir in program files was successful.
this is very very weird, now my server is "contaminated" with an uncomplete uninstallation of maxdb...
why maxdb 7.8 has problems on windows server 2008 r2 datacenter 64bit edition???

Windows 2003 != Windows 2008 - they use a different kernel, a different security system (UAC) and other features that may prevent a succesfull installation in the first place.
I installed a MaxDB 7.8 just today on Windows 2008 R2 and it worked fine.

2. Did you clear the cached files in your browser post patching
3. Generally the first time you access the system it takes time but the consquent attempts should not take much time.
4. Did you increase the Java heap

BPC 7.0 Server Installation Problem - Cannot connect to reporting services

I am upgrading from 5.1 to 7.0 version for SAP BPC. Everything went smooth on the development server (single instance installation including SQL Server 2005 developers edition 32bit, web, reporting and application services on the same server). I tried to repeat the same process on the test server, and the installation went off the rails. I started with clean installations of SQL Server 2005 on both servers.
When I try to install the BPC server software, I get to the point of access to the report server, and everything stops. I get the following message: Cannot connect to reporting services. I have verified the reporting server name, and I have verified that the server name is correct in the installation panel. I have also verified that the reporting server is configured, started, and that there are no errors.
Any advice?

Thanks for the tip, but this was not the case. The problem was solved by re-loading the OS. Using Windows Server 2003 gave an issue during the re-installation of the SQL Server database. The problem was in the installation itself. After a clean install of both the OS and SQL Server, then SAP BPC 7 worked. The installation does require a number of tweaks, particularly, in my case, the entire Management console must be configured, even if not being used.
This problem is now solved.

We have started installing our XI QAS on a MSCS running windows server 2003. We've followed the installation guide and loaded the Oracle binaries onto each node and the latest patches, have installed oracle failsafe (3.2.2) - done all the DNS & TCP/IP checks, installed abap and abap DB on central instance, and started configuring MSCS using SAPInst - all this successfully completed....
The problem we are having are:
In the Oracle Failsafe Manager, when trying to move <SID>.world from standalone resource to cluster service we get the following errors (after completing all actions on Node A - errors appear to relate to Node B) ....
FS-10890: Oracle Services for MSCS failed during the add operation
FS-10778: The database resource provider failed to configure the the cluster resource <DBSID>.world
FS-10040: Failed to create the database resource <DBSID>.world
ORA-01078: failiure in processing system parameters...
The settings are then rolled back......
I've not had any luck on either the oracle site or sap site finding solutions to these problems.
We've checked all permissions - all okay, Oracle homes are correct, Ip addresses (public and private) are all correct, and now running out of ideas...
Anyone have any ideas??

The line in the log right before the error messages reads:
49 09:07:17 > FS-10427: Creating database instance <DBSID> for TNS service name <DBSID>.WORLD
I assume it this part that failed..... It took ten seconds before listing the error messages.....
Any thoughts??

Error running universall installer using Oracle 11g on Windows server 2003

I want to uninstall Oracle 11g on Windows server 2003 and when I run universall installer I receive the following error
Checking swap space: 0 MB available, 500 MB required.
Please advise how to resolve this error and the procedure to uninstall Oracle 11g on Windows server 2003

Problems accessing mails remotely off MS Exchange Server 2003

Hi
I am trying to access my mails remotely off my companies server webmail while using Safari.
The address is normally as follows . Https://thecompanyservername/exchange
When i type this in the Safari navigation bar its comes up that the page cannot be found
I also have bootcamp installed and when i type in the address when i am in windows mode on internet explorer its takes me to the login page no problem.
My company uses MS Server 2003 . Wondering if its a compatibility problem and if there could be a patch etc
Any advice welcome as to how i can access my mails remotely without having to go into windows mode.

iPhone and iPad use a different way of accessing the server.
I don't know the exact details, but we are using Zarafa instead of Exchange and have the same problem:
iPhone and the likes can connect to Zarafas z-push interface, which is some identical interface to the native Exchange interface, while the desktop e-mail application tries to interface with the web front end (via http) of the server.
These are completely different setups and it depends on the actual installation of the server to get this going.
So, you will most likely need different access parameters for the desktop - and the web mail feature has to be enabled on the Exchange server.
In my opinion using the web mail interface is just silly. On the other hand, the native protocol has less features comparedto the web front end, so you are somehow stuck with sins of the past.

Windows Server 2003 Loading Problem

Hi Owais,Thanks again discuss with me. No problem this is a routine problem. Kindly follow these steps for resolving problem. 1- Start the computer by using the Windows 2003 CD. At the “Welcome to Setup” screen, press R to repair, and then press C to start the Recovery Console. 2- Type the number for the appropriate Windows installation, and then type the Administrator account password. 3- To copy the SYSTEM file from the WINDOWS\Repair folder to the WINDOWS\System32\Config folder, type the following command, and then press ENTER: 4- copy c:\winnt\repair\system c:\winnt\system32\config\SYSTEM 5- If you receive a prompt to overwrite the file, press Y, and then press ENTER. (You can also copy all the files one by one, as console doesn’t allow you to use * wild card ) 6- Restart the computer.And you will see your windows booting normally....

Problems with OWB 11.2 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003

i get the following error message after the installation from OWB 11.2 on a Windows 2003 server:
If i want to open the Design Center:

In the command box behind:

First i tried to raise the heap size (with -xmx1024M) ----> don't work

Hi,
We ran into the same issue (on Server 2003) just last week. The problem was indeed the java heap size, but instead of making it larger we had to reduce it.
Instead of passing the value on the command line, you can also change it in the configuration file. This file is to be found in the OWB installation folder: .../owb/bin/owb.conf
In this file, changing the line
AddVMOption -Xmx768m
to
AddVMOption -Xmx512m
did the trick for us...
