Ocspd issue, causing repeated log errors.
I'm fairly new to Apple servers and have recently installed a new mac mini server with Lion OS Server.
The server seems to intermittently slow down or refuse to send receive email for a while. Looking at the log files I have noticed the following error being repeated constantly.
Dec 19 18:47:46 markoneserver ocspd[1021]: dnssd_clientstub ConnectToServer: socket failed 24 Too many open files
Dec 19 18:48:16: --- last message repeated 3 times ---

Dec 19 18:49:16: --- last message repeated 3 times ---
Dec 19 18:49:16 markoneserver ocspd[1021]: dnssd_clientstub ConnectToServer: socket failed 24 Too many open files
The log file is just full of this stuff. The system consists of 3 Windows 7 PCs connecting to the server and two iphones connecting remotely.
Any help is much appreciated, even if its just a pointer in the right direction to look.

Hi Guys,
We have created a custom package where in we are trying to call the standard API's of Oracle projects i.e PA_PROJECT_PUB.When we are trying to call these APIs we are facing the below issue.
We have tried testing in two instances ,Initially it worked in both instances.
Using the same API's multiple times we tested the same data set in these instances.
For the first few runs it works fine.But when we go on using the same API's again and again for our testing we face now and then the below issue.

Repeated dyld errors reported in sh.crash.log -- how fix?
On trying to locate where my spare disk space on my boot drive had gone , I found ~user/Library/Logs/CrashReporter had a 274Mb sh.crash.log file...! This seems to entirely consist of repeated dyld error messages (see below). Can anyone suggest a culprit that might be causing this and/or fix for this?
This seems to only occur once in a long while and when it does, a lot of errors are reported. As such in a sense its more "for my interest" than urgent, but all the same something is afoot...!

You can try a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

Pavilion s3012n repeated startup error log message
I have Vista Home 32-bit installed. Checking the Event Logs, I keep getting a repeating ACPI error identified by Event ID 6. The general statement reads: "IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI slot 4, function 0. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance."
I updated my BIOS and have done some research. From what I read, this si not a Microsoft problem. What "fix" does HP have for this?Review this document from Microsoft as it covers this exact error. Microsoft has identified this as an issue in Windows Vista, but it lists a cause. In most cases, it is a false error message and cause for no concern as listed under the resolution.
The only concern would be is if a device was marked with an error in device manager.
Verify that device manager has no devices with a yellow ! next to it and a code 12 for the status message. If the device does have a yellow ! with status error code 12, then it may be something else.
This can be done by going to Start>Right-click computer>manage>device manager.
Let me know what happens.

Hi
I get the following error in my crawl logs
"Error while crawling LOB contents. ( Error caused by exception: Microsoft.BusinessData.Infrastructure.BdcException The shim execution failed unexpectedly - The method or operation is not implemented..; SearchID "
Because of this i suspect, the search results are not including those aspx pages marked as "Hide physical urls from search".
This error is not available in the another environment where the aspx pages are coming in the results.
Thanks
JoeHi Joe,
Greetings!
Reset the index and re-crawl. That usually clears it
If you are using NTLM authentication, then make sure that you specified the PassThrough authentication for crawling
Probably you need to debug the BDC code that underlies the external content types.

Repeatedly, this error code suddenly appears on the screen and I don't have a clue what it means or what to do: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?
No Yes"Hi,
Some "movies' are actually Flash files.
This means the Flash App will play them (possibly in a browser in some cases).
Depending where this item is and how it is playing it may be effected by other things
A web page can include javascript.
Apple uses javascript here to help with creating the posting box, the Edit options, Adding pics/smilies and the like.
Sometimes the javascript can be what is called a runaway process and gets sort of stuck in an endless loop.
If it is a free standing item then it might be triggered by AppleScript on the Mac. (or be modified in some way)
Again if the Script (normally written with a upper case S) is not perfect it can cause problems.

bought a used mac book and can't dowload new OS this error comes up. "You have updates available for other accounts" Anyway of getting around this or fixing issue ? I logged myself as new admin with my apple id already.
the guy i bought it from told me he would take car of any issues and of coarse the first one that comes up he hasn't been helpful at all.
anyway of updating or is there something i did wrong or haven't done as far as switching ownership with apple id and admin.
thxsBoot into Internet Recovery and erase the hard drive, then reinstall the OS.
That will install the original OS that the Mac shipped with. You can then register it under your AppleID and upgrade to Mavericks.

Issue while "log errors into g_logtest_err(1) reject limit 1"
Hi Gurus,
I am trying to log the errors occured during installation using log error into command.
insert into g_logtest(i, col1, col2) values (1, 'col1 23 ',' col2 g ') Log errors into g_logtest_err(1) reject limit 1;
The col1 lenght is 5 and col2 length is 10. when i run the query record gets inserted into g_logtest_err table
but the column values of g_logtest_err are getting truncated means instead of 'col1 23 ', it is inserting 'col1 123' and 'col2 g' for col2.
Could anyone please explain the behavior to me. Is this a default behavior or could be changed?
What changes could be made into query to achieve this? Is their any global parameter setting to achieve this ?
Please help, its urgent.
Thanks in advance

Since the error table definition is based on the definition of the underlying table, I'm not sure that it would be reasonable for Oracle to attempt to solve this problem. Since Oracle has no idea how big the string that would be inserted into the column would be when it is creating the error table (or how big the number you would try to insert into a numeric column), the only options would be to duplicate the base table definition and truncate the data that caused the error or to define every column as VARCHAR2(4000) or CLOB and convert all the data from your INSERT statement before inserting it into the error log. That has its own downsides, of course, since there are lots of queries you might like to run against the error log that depend on the data types being correct that you couldn't run against a table with hundreds of CLOB columns.Justin,
the point is that obviously trailing spaces are getting truncated when populating the column values. So you end up with values that have less length than the maximum length of the target table, although the error message logged suggests otherwise.
By the way, when creating the error log table using "dbms_errlog.create_error_log" the columns are already defined as VARCHAR2(4000) regardless of the actual length of the column.
See the guideline how to create the error log table here:

AdarshHi Mike,
Thanks for your response.
What roles are assigned to the user that is triggering these error messages?
This is our new development server and we have migrated stuff from 11.5 to 12.1 and there are only 8 users on this system and all of them are super admins but of those I am the only one using the system currently and I am not sure it is being generated by any of our 8 users because the interesting point is this error generates on every 49th minute of hour (for eg, 10:49, 11:49, 12:49 and so on) and along with I see two more errors "SR Log error" occurring on same time.
These are the only three errors I see repeating every hour and no other errors.
What version of the JRE is running on the machine accessing MII?
On client machines we have JRE 1.5 update 22 and on server we have JRE 1.5 update 21
What process is being performed at the time of the error messages?
No background jobs are scheduled and even if I don't run any programs still I can see this error on every hour
Regards,
Adarsh -
Since I installed Java 7 update 51 accessing the EMC VNX Unisphere Console cause the following error: java.util.HashMap cannot be cast to java.awt.RenderingHints.
I rolled back to Apple Java 1.6 -005 now I am getting the following error: plug-in failure.
I think this is cused by the fact that the EMC console application has been written for java 7 and not java 6. Has anybody faced and solved the "java.util.HashMap cannot be cast to java.awt.RenderingHints." error ?Hi Yaakov,
The error is thrown from the eclipselink.jar:2.5.1 which is a JPA provider .
Is the above jar bundled in the Oracle Product you are working upon or was this downloaded from external site ?
If the jar is bundled with the Oracle Product, go ahead a log a SR with Oracle Support with Toplink product group to drill down on the issue, as the issue is happening internally or thrown by the Eclipselink implementation and we've no control....
Hope it helps!!
Thanks,
Vijaya -
howdy all,
Could you please help me to resovle the very much odd issue of HP Priner driver on Win7sp1x64 as below.
1.HP Deskjet 970Cse printer connected thru usb to a router and installed to all LAN PCs thru a standard tcp/ip ports works well (i.e. printing anyting w/o any problem) on 3 PCs - 2 of 3 with win7sp1x64; and 1 of 3 - win7sp1x86. All 3 with
IE11[11.0.9600.17041] recently(!) updated from IE8.
2. However BOTH (that is 2 of 3) above PCs of win7sp1x64 return errors to admin log every time when printing any web page from IE11 and/or docs from Office as below:
Error in short:
The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\UNIDRVUI.DLL, error code 0xc1. See the event user data for context information.
This error in log occurs only if printing from IE11 and/or MS Office. None of other printing jobs are affected including a printing from Acrobat, ACDSee, Google Chrome and Opera. The printing of Test Page by printer
itself not affected as well!!!
3. win7sp1x86 PC prints everything w/o any errors in log!
4. Printer uninstall incl. cleaning of Print Server config + clean install doesn't work.

7. I blame IE11 when there was no such error before its update from IE8.
8. This is a re-repost from here "http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-windows_7/print-spooler-log-error-id-808-internet-explorer/f52ff25c-4702-4ce3-827e-e1e9a5d324cf" and here "http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/7b24d6b9-171a-4703-82f9-81cb4732e02f/print-spooler-log-error-id-808-internet-explorer-11-ms-office-20032007-x86-on-win7-sp1-x64?forum=w7itproappcompat"
w/o any good answer!
That's it. Any questions are welcome.
Thank you.
PS: I just wanna confirm that this odd error occurs only when printing from IE11 and MS Office 2003 on Win7sp1x64. MS Office 2007 is not affected!OK, Z COMPLETE SOLUTION FOUND!
Although z cause of this odd issue is yet unclear. However it seems to be z HP driver problem after all.
Actually my printer is not HP Deskjet 970Cse but HP Photosmart 1115 Series. Z very nice working dinosaur, which was officially run out by HP Support from WinXPx86 times. Though it was always working
just nice with either HP Deskjet (DJ) 970Cse Win7driver (better) or HP Photosmart (PS) 7200 Series one (worse – when it works no so good with TCP/IP printer installation).
Well… when I got into z recent problem with DJ970cse driver I happened to check if printer works with z PS7200 one. Oops, same not good as before but NO LOG ERROR! A bit of study gave me understanding
that both drivers are using z absolutely same core files but PS7200 driver uses its own PCL Language Monitor as well as z Print Processor (not a standard winprint of Windows).
And while I unfortunately got no any reasonable ideas on how to solve this issue from IT Pros and others MS MVP during a few days after my posting here and there, except those very smart ones
like ‘uninstall, reboot and install again’, I had no option other than to find solution by myself.
I’ve downloaded a bunch of HP printer models Win7x64 driver pack from MS Update Catalog "http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=hp%20deskjet%20970cse" (x86 also available.
This driver pack is for maybe over 400 HP printer models incl. both DJ970Cse & PS7200) and modded its genuine INF file for HardwareID of my PS1115 as HPPHOTOSMART_11150FFF with use of 970Cse driver but also some DLLs and PCL Language Monitor
of PS7200 one.
This modded by me INF file is attached as a Code Block. Pls be advised that all originally integrated printer devices strings except DJ970cse & PS7200 ones were deleted for convenience and
z 1 new combined string for PS1115 added. Then everybody interested can compare & track z changes done. This modded driver is now installed and working w/o any glitch on 2 of my Win7sp1x64 PCs. Although I’ve maybe spent totally a day or
so on all that fuss of posting about & studying around.
My final conclusion is z very much common one
– f**k HP… and/or MS as well, when it’s yet unknown why this error occurred after z years of no problem use of DJ970Cse driver but after Win7sp1 updating to IE11 and/or KB2775511 and only with x64 version
of OS.
bye for now.
PS: btw, why I’m not able to attach any small text file or post a link to MS site here???!!!
END
UPDATE 2014-06-12-Thu: there is one more small glitch of printing to paper from IE11 only found! now it's about a Print Processor settings...
pls set not any hp oem print processor but z standard windows one aka 'winprint' to be used for printing in Printer properties > Advanced sub-menu, otherwise a printout is incorrect in part of a printed page header &
footer. a page print preview is ok but z printed header is incomplete = cut at right side, and no footer printed at all.
pls be advised that above note is valid for both modded & genuine driver installed and for both x86 & x64 win7...

MacOSX Server administration : system.log errors to be investigated
Hi all,
I have the following lines repeated on my system.log errors. Can anyone tell me how to investigate/get rid of these ?
Does it mean that my server has been compromised ?
At night (when nobody is connected) :
- cp: error processing extended attributes: Operation not permitted
Regularly during the whole day since a while :
- lmtpunix[10096]: warning: unable to post message for user: admin, mail is not enabled for this user
For your information, I do not have any mailboxes on this server, I only need it to be able to send emails from time to time...
Thank you in advance for your helpIf your Mac and Time Machine run normally, don't care about this logs in the Console.
I've deleted the com.apple.mail.plist in Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences, as said in Constant stream of sandboxd Mail error...: Apple Support Communities
and the logs about coresymbolicationd and com.apple.mail.plist have disappeared.
I've the log about stream/token once by day : perhaps, you can search a plist about a software customising Time Machine (like TimeMachineEditor, …) and delete it.
Search in the Preferences of your account, then in the Macintosh HD Library.
(I had hundred of entries about fseventer, and deleting its Preferences plist solved the "issue" : sandboxing seems hating old Preferences plists, and writes the new plists in Containers). -
Does anybody know what causes this SOAP log error?
"Service invocation exception: HIERARCHY_REQUEST_ERR: An attempt was made to insert a node where it is not permitted. "I use datastage Web Service Transformer stage to send Account data to OnDemand. I got Soaplog error "Service invocation exception: HIERARCHY_REQUEST_ERR: An attempt was made to insert a node where it is not permitted." even I sent the valid data. I don't know what that means. Pls. help me to resolve this issue asap.
-
I recently did an upgrade with pacman (the updates included a new kernel so I'm guessing that has something to do with my issue). Since then I've had this error appear at least 43759 times in my /var/log/errors.log files:
localhost NetworkManager[809]: <error> [1322431974.973396] [nm-system.c:1061] nm_system_replace_default_ip6_route(): (eth0): failed to set IPv6 default route: -1
Has anyone else been getting this error? It's filled all my log rotations and I suspect it's causing some other issues as well.
Thanks,
JonPlease see show mod below. The only thing similar is the CSM card in slot 8

CalDAV: Collection has webdav sync support
Warning: There has been an error reading data for calendar: MyCal. However, this error is believed to be minor, so the program will attempt to continue. Error code: DAV_DAV_NOT_CALDAV. Description: The resource at https://server.host.name/dav/home/user@domain is a DAV collection but not a CalDAV calendar
Warning: There has been an error reading data for calendar: MyCal. However, this error is believed to be minor, so the program will attempt to continue. Error code: READ_FAILED. Description:
User reports that Lightning was set up and working a week before these errors started.
Does anyone know what could be triggering Lightning to experience this problem?This is an example technique to protect against this Lightning bug. Essentially, if the server process notices that a single client has requested /dav/home/something/ more than X times during its lifetime, then it issues a 403 error, which causes Lightning to break out of its loop. Keep in mind that the code below hasn't been completely tested.
It requires:
<ul>
<li>Use Apache with mod_proxy in front of the CalDAV server</li>
<li>Use mod_perl (version 2) in order to hook into the early stages of the HTTP request cycle</li>
<li>Apache is built to use the "worker" MPM</li>
<li>MaxRequestsPerChild is configured appropriately in proportion to what you configure "PerlSetVar block_lim" below.</li>
</ul>
Install this Perl module in your Perl INC path:
<blockquote>
package DOSProtect;
use strict;
use warnings;
use Apache2::Const qw(:common :log);
use Apache2::RequestRec;
use Apache2::Request;
use Apache2::Connection;
use Apache2::Log;
# this is a global variable that does not lose state
# during the life of the apache process
my %state;
sub handler {
my $r = shift;
# set this in Apache config with:
# PerlSetVar block_uri /regex/uri/(to_match)/
# (make sure it contains a capture)
my $block_uri = $r->dir_config('block_uri');
# set this in Apache config with:
# PerlSetVar block_lim num
my $block_lim = $r->dir_config('block_lim');
# get the URI and IP from the apache request
my $uri = $r->uri;
my $ip = $r->connection->remote_ip();
# misconfiguration? - bail out
return DECLINED unless ( $block_uri and $block_lim and $uri and $ip );
# return 403 forbidden if the URI is requested from an IP more than the
# limit during the life of the apache process
if ( $uri =~ $block_uri and ++$state{$1}{$ip} >= $block_lim ) {
$r->log_error("Requests to $uri from $ip exceeded $block_lim");
return FORBIDDEN;
# this means that the request continues uninhibited
