OD Group members not synchronized to mailing lists

We have some Groups in the SLS OD that we configured as wikis to distribute Dokuments to the members. Last year the configuration of the wiki vanished from the workgroup manager and I think since then the members of the groups were no longer synced with the mailing lists.
This is what I tried:
I looked after /etc/aliases and found it was an old version (it misses new members and has old ones).
So I looked where it was built from and found /Library/Application Support/Apple/mailinglists/mailinglists.plist. If I delete this file it is rebuild but with the old accounts.
So I think there is missing a actual synchronisation between the OD and the mailinglists.plist file. But how it is done?

SharePoint 2010 permission group cannot have email address but AD Security Group can.
If you want to make your AD Group and members address are created, you may want to use the PowerShell like Set-mailbox “MailboxAddress” -EmailAddressPolicyEnabled $true to enable "Automatically update e-mail addresses based on e-mail address

    I am referring to MS15-009 to MS15-017 that came out on Tuesday. These are the only patches we have applied. On our two node Availability Group setup we had the patches applied to the secondary node and then it was restarted. It came up fine and SQL is running
    as expected.

    Now I see the suspend message. Running the select on sys.dm_exec_requests there are NO DB_STARTUP ones on either node or blocking.
    Next action is probably to have the patches removed from the secondary node and see if all is well and then try patch one by one to see which one causes the issue.

  • Task Assignment to Ggroup - Group Members Not Getting Email

    I have a process with an approval activity with initial user selection set to a group rather than a specific user. I want all selected users to receive an email notification that a new task awaits them. When I assign to a specific user, the custom email template is sent to the user. When I assign to a group, the group members don't get the task assignment email.
    How do I change that so that group members will receive email notification of task assignment?

    One possible solution:
    You can use our Group Lookup component to get a comma-separated list of the emails of the members of the group. Then, in the step before the User>assignTask step, send the group an email. The only problem is that you won't be able to embed a link directly to the task, because the task doesn't exist yet.

  • Receive texts from some group members, not all group members

    Hello!
    I have an iPhone 5S and recently purchased an iMac. iMac is on OSX Yosemite and iPhone is on iOS 8.1.2
    Recently I have been involved in a few group SMS text chains and I am receiving texts from some of the group members but not all of them. I can receive texts individually from everyone in the group.
    I was recently playing around with iMessage on my new iMac and feel like I may have done something in the setup that caused this issue.
    Anyone know what's going on? I reset network settings on my phone and closed out iMessage on my computer (I also signed out of iMessage completely)

    If iMessage is turned off on both devices and you are still unable to receive their texts, it is a carrier issue, the carrier will need to resolve it.

  • Groups does not work in Mail under Mavericks

    Its not just smart groups, by I cannot get any of my Groups to work with Mail under Mavericks.  I am weary of having to type out the address for each person separately.  Is there some better way?

    I don't know why typing he name of a regular group does not work for you, but…
    Another way is to open the address panel, select a group, then select all in the group, then click the two button.

  • Group Titles not working in Marker lists

    I've created a special alphabetical list of markers, using a custom name for the marker.  The list generates just fine and I have the page formated as I want, except for the need to add group titles.
    I created, on the resource page, a GroupTitlesAML paragraph format.  The line on the resource page looks like:
    Symbols[\ ];Numerics[0];A;B;C;D;E;F;G;H;I;J;K;L;M;N;O;P;Q;R;S;T;U;V;W;X;Y;Z
    But it is completely ignored.
    Are group titles even available for marker index lists, or only for actual index markers?  In other words, is GroupTitlesIX only available with files that have the IX suffix?
    I also noticed that doing something like "<Emphasis>maker text<Default Para Font> more marker text" is ignored, in that all of the text appears in the marker list.  The special text is not even parsed as special text.

    Michael is correct. If you want an index, then create an index of markers (IOM), NOT an alphabetical list of markers (AML). A list, being a list, does not have group titles, there being no grouping in a list. Thus, the GroupTitlesAML is meaningless for a list.
    I have a user-defined marker called warning. I also create an index of my warning markers (IOM). Although I do not group them under group titles, the IOM reference page does have a GroupTitlesIOM line that basically groups them all together.
    So, create an index or markers, not a list or markers.

  • Group Policy not populating Compatibility View List in IE 11

    I am currently a domain admin in a large, multi domain controller environment. Our AD was much out of date (2000 mix mode) and we are currently updating it in steps (2003 Native at this point)
    At the same time other technicians have started patch testing, moving us from IE10 to IE11. However, there seems to be one major catch so far. Users require access to a website that will only run properly in compatibility mode.  This was true in IE10 and
    is true in IE11.
    As such, this website was set as a mandatory compatibility mode page in GPO (Administrative Tempaltes\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Compatibility View\Use Policy List of Internet Explorer 7 sites). This has worked fine for 8, 9, 10 for this site and
    others. 
    However, it was not showing in compatibility mode in IE 11 it is showing in normal mode and breaks. The policy is applying normally and the list is accurate in rsop.msc. If the site is added to compatibility mode locally inside IE11 it works fine. 
    Our patch testers are all seeing the same problem. However, I have been unable to establish if it is just this site or others are affected (mostly it's old billing and intranet sites I don't have access to).
    I'm not sure what the disconnect is.

    •Via X-UA-compatible meta tag: The webpage developer used a meta tag to specify a legacy document mode.
    •compatible HTTP header: The web server has requested a legacy document mode via an HTTP header.
    •Via local compatibility view settings: The site was manually added to the Compatibility View settings.
    •Via the compatibility view list: The site is on Microsoft's Compatibility View list.
    •Via intranet compatibility settings: The "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" box is checked in the Compatibility View settings.
    please remove all website from "Use Policy List of Internet Explorer 7 sites" list.
    Remember to run "gpupdate /force" command to apply the new group policy object.
    Then open the websites, click F12 key, check their Document mode status.
    Based on my test, this is also related with web itself. it will adjust status according to its design.

  • Mailing list set-up in OS X Server.

    Dear members:
    I have been looking at different options for setting up a few mailing list groups. One of the best options I have found in terms of functionality and features is Listserv software but it is very expensive and is only available in a Unix version (no OS X available) which would require me to install it using terminal.
    Two other options are DirectMail and OS X Server. According to the info page on Apple's web site setting up a mailing list in OS X Snow Leopard Server is a fairly simple thing to do. At least that is what they say.
    According to your experiences how simple is it to set up a few mailing lists in OS X ? Please consider that I am an advanced user but without any advanced training in networking or programming.

    i have now resolved all my issues with the mail list functions on SL... and i am pretty confused as to why it is done like it is now. done... BUT... there are now TWO ways of creating lists in SL 10.6
    1, the mailman way, which is a proper mail list server and can be relied on and has sensible mail handling and bounce control and aparantly no longer linked to workgroup manager or OD
    2, the apple-wiki tool which uses a postfix alias populated with a group membership on creation.
    SO... if you need a group that is linked to a OD group and you do not mind the complete lack of management and the fact that the mailing list will be called [email protected] then use mailing lists linked to wiki...
    OR
    Use mailman... 10.6 has now removed the link between groups and mailman lists.. and you will soon loose the workgroup manager control (that no longer works) for integration with mailman lists... if you use mailman you have an industrial strength mailing list tool that you can sync with various other DB sources (inc LDAP) and has sensible bounce and mail handling...
    it took me a while yesterday to finally realise what has really changed and what i need to do to work as normal.
    My plan is to create a group in workgroup manager called "Mailing Lists" and then with a perl script interrogate OD for groups that are in my "Master mailing list group" and then sync the OD group user list emails with the list of the same name (as any group in the OD group "mailing lists") in MailMan.... which will give me OD managed group mailing lists again and also give me [email protected] for my list name...
    i object to have to call a mailing list with a "-wiki" extension to the name, and i would like to automatically have people added to mailing lists when they are put in groups...
    i am still working on all of this and i hope my findings are of some help.

  • Delete Ghost Mailing List User (Mailman Config Bug)

    I recently did something stupid. On the up side, I recognized that it was stupid right after I did it, but unfortunately my effort to undo what I did wasn't fast enough to correct the following issue. First, here's what I did:
    I added a new group with the same name as an existing user.
    Immediately after thinking about it and determining that this was probably a really bad idea, I deleted the group.
    I thought everything was working fine until I realized that email was not coming in to the email address of the aforementioned user (the user that I had created a group of the same name)
    Fortunately, I figured out the problem and a temporary fix. The purpose of this post is two fold: first, to submit what I believe is a bug, and secondly to figure out a way to permanently fix this issue on my system.
    I have determined what happened on my system is this:
    a mailing list group of the same name as my existing user was created thus diverting mail from that user to a now non-existant mailing list user. That results in the List Server Log reading the following when an email is sent to the user in question:
    list_server_post[16378] <Error>: missing list GUID
    Here's what I believe is a BUG: OS X Server 4.0 did not delete the mailing list group when I deleted the group. Now that's probably understandable because it's probably a protection against also deleting my user of the same name as a precaution, but it's not the expected behavior nonetheless.
    Here's where I need help: In searching through various config files, I've determined that there entries located in /Library/Server/Mail/config/listserver/prefs which correspond to various lists (including my ghost list). I've also determined that /Library/Server/Mail/Data/listserver/aliases contains the references to the list that postfix uses to handle delivery. Unfortunately, according to the contents of /Library/Server/Mail/Data/listserver/aliases/list_server_virtual these files are generated "automatically" so deleting them does not rectify the problem. My assumption is that these files are generated from Open Directory, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what entry. In any case, I need assistance deleting the entry which should no longer be present. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    In the meantime, I have successfully worked around this problem by issuing:
    sudo  /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/sbin/serverctl disable  service=com.apple.list_server_mgr
    which, of course, disables the list server (which I don't need), but I'm afraid it will be re-enabled if I restart (maybe I'm wrong about that, but I'd prefer to get to the root of the problem so it doesn't pop back up and bite me in the future).

    Where would the error be sent? If you send it back to the originator, you
    disclose membership of the list. You can, however, configure the list
    to have an address to which DSNs and NDNs are directed so that the
    list maintainer (or whomever) can be alerted to these issues. This
    is done with the mgrpErrorsTo LDAP attribute associated with the list
    description. (I myself do not know how to set that via iDA.)

    I have been trying to enable a new (?) feature of Server.app : "Enable group mailing list". Until now, it does not work for me. When I try to send an email to the group [email protected], Mail tells me that the smtp server cannot send my message. Here is what I see on the server's /var/log/mail.log file :

    The log says nothing particular when I (un)set the "Enable Group Mailing List Option". The only difference I see is a line saying mail_groups[127]: sleeping for: 1 hour(s). I have no idea what this means exactly. Googling it did not help me much either.
    I post the /etc/aliases file below. Interesting : every time I (un)set the "Enable Group Mailing List" option, the /etc/aliases last access time changes. But the md5 hash of the file stays the same.
    I guess that the "sudo newaliases" uses /etc/aliases to construct the binary database file /etc/aliases.db ? It seems that this script is run every time I (un)check the option since the access time of *both* /etc/aliases and /etc/aliases.db are changed to the current time.
    Do you have any other option checked ?

  • Group Id mailing list technique

    How to use group id technique (from selection screen) for shooting the mails to respective mail ids after occurrence of some event . I have used the method for sending the mails to respective ids by maintaining a custom table for mail ids, but now i have the requirement to use group id on selection screen. Can anyone please suggest me on this?

    I have puzzled over this a just figured out why ours weren't working.
    Some background...In WGM, all users have a primary group and other groups. The primary group is stored with the user record in the LDAP directory, the "other groups" entries are stored in the Groups container in the directory as a Member list for each group.
    For WGM to list all users in a particular group, it must display the Member list from the Group and then search the Users container for all users with that group as their primary group. (you've probably noticed in the WGM group lists, primary group member are in italic and "other" group members are not)
    I have found that when you enable the mailing list for that group, /usr/sbin/mailgroupexpander is not searching the Users container in the LDAP directory for members who have that group as their primary group, thus if no one in your group has that as apart of "Other Groups" no members will be added to the list, or in the case where all the members are primary members, the list isn't created.
    To remedy the issue, you must add the group to the "other groups" list for each user. Unfortunately, this will cause your groups lists to show every member twice, unless you change their primary group to a group where you don't need a mailing list.

  • Corporate Directory mail group members

    Our installation of Messaging Server (Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7u3-15.01) has a domain in which we have dozens of mail groups (i.e. mailing lists) that are used by many members of the domain. These show up as entries in the Corporate Directory in Convergence webmail. Different people determine the membership of different lists, and in the Delegated Administrator, I have set ownership of these lists accordingly. However, it appears that the only way that anyone other than me can change the group memberships is to make them an Organization Administrator, which gives them far more access that I'd like in Delegated Administrator.
    The question is this: is there a way to edit list memberships whereby the group owner(s) have access to their own groups and nothing else?
    The optimal solution would be to do this via Convergence webmail since our users are familiar with it, but if there's a way to do this in Delegated Administrator, that would be OK, too.
    BTW, this is using Sun Directory Server.

    Thanks for everyone whom viewed this post. I have worked on this solidly for over 2 weeks now. The only solution I can come up with is doing sort of the same thing but with .NET. The .NET solution is seamless, not that I want to use it. But maybe its a limitation of the java packages.

  • I dont receive e-mails with attachment sent to OS X Server 3.0.1 Group-mailing lists

    I have a small company using a mac mini with mavericks and server 3.0.1.
    We are using most of the services available in OS X server (except DHCP, Netinstall and Xsan). One of the services we use the most is Mail server, and the whole company uses that as our primary mail server.
    We have set up several different Groups and activated group-mailing lists on some of them. The setup has been working very good for over a year (started using it with Mountain Lion Server).
    Recently I was going to send a christmas card to all employees using the workgroup mailing list. I was using the stationaries in Mail, and it was sent as normal but never recieved by me or any of the other employees. Below is the SMTP Log

    I did some trial and error and it seems like it is linked to the fact that I have attachments to the email. Sending an email with only text is recieved like normal. Even attacment like PDF or jpg is "blocked" it seems. I have tried using email outside my domain but still the same result. Sending the same email (with attachment) to all reciepients (not using the mailiing list) works and is recieved by everyone. I have turned off all email filtering settings on the server but still the same result.
    Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? My guess is that this is a Server 3.0.1 hickup, so it would be nice to get confirmation from others experiencing the same.

  • Ideal way to report on Nested Groups and their Members - I can get the script to work if there's one group, but not if there is two or more

    I like to keep track of Groups and Users added into our Domain Admins.  Yes, it should always be minimal, but if I can have a daily report just to be certain, I'll sleep better.
    The following works just fine if there is a single nested group.  I cannot get it to work properly if there is more than one.  I'm hoping you'll see what I'm missing.
    Works fine:
