OD offers incorrect e-mail account settings
I heve an issue with OD.
After binding, client it receives the e-mail account settings with address [email protected], but it should be [email protected]
The Sserver has its name "hostname" in "domain.com" domain.
How to correct the settings, so users get approriate settings?
Solved by myself.
Addeed "A" record in DNS with name "domain.com" and with its IP address, then changed the hostname of the server to "domain.com".

After the i-cloud server issue yesterday, November 26, 2012, my i-cloud mail account on my Macbook Pro stopped receiving mail. I changed some mail account settings to fix the issue, and was able to start receiving e-mails. However, all of my historical e-mails are gone. How do I retrieve all of my old e-mails from the server?
What settings did you change, what were the changes, have you visited www.icloud.com to see what mail is actually there? and do you have a backup?

Hi All,
I have two machines:
MacPro OS 10.7.2
MacBookPro OS 10.7.2
I am using iCloud to sync info between them.
Me.com used to allow you to syncronize mail account settings, and iCloud does not, so I have two questions:
1. Is there anyway to sync mail account settings between two computers?
2. If not, can you export a file that contains the settings from one computer to import it into another?
Thanks for you time!
RobHi Illaas,
Thanks for your response.
You don't mention whether you are looking in iTunes or Finder. However, it does not really matter: either way I do not see emails as a sync option.
Under Finder, my iPad is not showing as a separate device.
Under iTunes under Devices, when I click on my iPad, I see lots of tabs (Summary, Info, Apps, Movies, Music, TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunesU, Books and Photos) but no Mail.
I ended up creating each Mail account individually, so this issue is not really resolved but I found a workaround.
Thanks for your input. -
i get an error message saying itunes could not sync mail accounts. because the mail accounts are in use by the iPhone. It asks that i close the mail accounts settings on the iPhone and sync again. Is it requesting that i delete my email accounts?
just as i've posted the same issue here hope that someone could give us a hand. I have just swtched from nokia to iPhone for my company cell and i have more than 1000 contacts... it would be murder to create those contacts one by one )))))

Is there a way to transfer my mail account settings to my iPhone
Is there a way to transfer my mail account settings to my iPhone - via Itunes or icloud?
I use apple mail Version 7.2 (1874)I know how to do it on the phone. Just wondering if there's another easier way to do this. Reasoning: we change our password for our emails frequently.

unable to sync mail accounts to Outlook because email accounts are in use by iPhone. How to close mail account settings on iPhone.
I've rec'd a few errors related to syncing Mail, but none have had this specific wording. If you haven't already, try quitting Mail before syncing. Also, make sure that you're not in your Settings areas on the iPhone before syncing. Hope this helps!

Unable to acces e-mail account settings after restoring a back-up
Hi all,
I’m helping my uncle regarding problems and requests he has about his BlackBerry Bold 9000. We made some (unsuccessful) sync tests (with BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac, last version as of 2010-02-25). We back-upped and restored all his data several times. After that, we realized that it was impossible to change his e-mail accounts settings. We searched everywhere, but it was impossible to find back the menu. Even worse, when going to the help web page from his BlackBerry to try to set up e-mail from start (which worked previously), we got a message like “Desktop browser not supported. Please access this page from your BlackBerry”.
Does anyone know where to change the e-mail account settings ?Try this to regain the on-device personal email setup:
On your BlackBerry device, go to:
1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
From your handheld device: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.
From your desktop PC: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American Carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list
3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

Cannot get mail using iCloud. Says no password provided for iCloud, to go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password, even though I've already done this. Very odd. Am I doing something wrong?
I doubt you are doing anything wrong. First day glitches
Reset the device.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Make sure you have Mail selected here > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ -
Syncing mail account settings on iPhone 4?
I'm getting my iPhone 4 replaced today and was going thru a sync. Everything is working fine as I use iCloud however...when I went to plug in my iPhone and over to "Info" and down to "Sync Mail Accounts" it won't let me check mark the box for syncing mail account settings.
I want to sync the mail accounts (not messages or anything) just the mail account settings so that I won't have to manually put them in on the new phone.
Ideas?User error: I had enabled the selection to dis-allow changes under the password lock and restrictions options then disabled the passcode lock with still stopped me from making any changes to my email account settings.

I am trying to export my E-mail ACCOUNT settings from one copy of Outlook 2010 so that I can import them in another copy of Office 2010 on a different computer. Again, BOTH computers have Office 2010 on them. While I can move the PST file, my
E-mail account information never comes across. How can I do that without having to enter each account separately. Also is it normal for the E-mail accounts to show up as DATA FILES rathan than E-MAIL FILES? I've never come this in the past.
Thanks. As JHarris1993 said, this is BOSS! Thank you.
I used this solution to recreate a profile I was using under one Windows 7 account in another account on the same machine. The profile was successfully recreated but I noticed that the email accounts in the profile were still pointing to the data files from
the other account, which is not surprising at all.
Unfortunately no easy way exists for re-pointing email accounts to alternate file locations. I have five different email accounts in this profile (2 IMAP, 2 Outlook Hotmail Connector and one Exchange), and looks like there are solutions and workaround for
each type of account which work with varying degrees of success.
Changing location of pst data file for
IMAP email account
Changing
location of ost data file for an Exchange email account
Changing location of ost data file for a Hotmail Connector email account
Thanks Again,

IPhoto'11 changing Apple Mail account settings
When sending a photo from within iPhoto'11's share/mail option, iPhoto requests I enter my email account password (which I do). The photo is then eventually sent, however when then accessing the separate Apple Mail application 'Mail' cannot send or retrieve email because it repeatedly requests my POP & SMTP passwords. No matter how many times I input the correct info Mail will not send/receive.
I think that iPhoto11 is rewriting/overwriting the Mail account settings within the Mail application itself.
The only way I can get Mail to work correctly again is to use my Time Machine backup and replace Mail's Library & preference plists settings from the day earlier.
Mail works correctly before using iPhoto11 but when I then use iPhoto11 the above error repeats itself and it's Groundhog Day again! Aaagh!!
Anyone have a workaround/solution to this please?I, too, am having this problem...as I just found out. I have been trying to email a picture from my iPhoto '11 library for the better part of an hour now. It still hasn't worked. I have verified and reverified my settings. Still no luck. I have had nothing but trouble since upgrading to '11. I'm at a loss right now--All I would like to do is email this ONE picture!

Under Settings and the Mail account settings, there are two separate settings for my Gmail account. Which should I delete?
I would like to attach a screen shot I took, but I don't see where I can add an attachment to this post. Thanks for the reply.
A camera icon on the toolbar? I don't know what toolbar, and I do not see a camera icon.
This ID mess started because I was seeing Apple messages that all IDs had to be email addresses, so I created a second ID. The problem is that some apps and purchases were under one ID, and some under the other ID. now, I never know which ID to log on with, and it takes at least a couple of attempts to log in, where Apple accepts the ID and password.
Also, I have iTunes Match under one of the IDs. -
Mail account settings on iPad 2, using Proximus provider ?
I've entered the same account settings on my iPhone 3G and on my iPad 2. Everything works fine on iPhone.
On the iPad the message i get when sending a mail is: "A copy has been placed in your outbox. The sender address xxx was rejected by the server"
Anyone knows what the reason can be ... And how to solve it ?
Is "server port" 110 correct ?
I'm working with OUTLOOK on my business PC and need to sync between both.
Many thanks,
MarcoApple suggests deleting your current Mail settings on your iPad and configuring Mail from scratch. Make sure you know your settings before continuing.
Under Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars, start entering your data. Start off with your email settings, and confirm they're correct and fully working. Next, recover your iCloud Mail settings, also making sure it's correct and working fully. Make sure it's the me.com account.
