ODAC - 32bit only?

I am trying to download ODAC for a Win64 bit web server from Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) for Windows Downloads
I can only find 32 bit for the following: ODAC 11.2 Release 5 and Oracle Developer Tools for Visual   Studio (11.2.0.3.20)
Is there a 64 bit out there? Or do I have to install this and use 32bit ODBC??
Thanks!

Select the 64-bit download from the main page:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/dotnet/downloads/index.html
Also, the ODP.NET forum is located over this way:
https://forums.oracle.com/community/developer/english/oracle_database/windows_and_.net/odp.net/content
Probably a better forum for ODAC questions rather than Database/General.

Mark

• 2010 macbookpro + 32bit Windows7Ultimate - only 2.18GB available

I bought a 17" 2010 Macbook pro with an i7+8MB of RAM. In bootcamp, Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit shows that it has only 2.18GB available. Why so little? I would expect 3 to 3.5GB. How can I get it back?
I also found that the generic PnP monitor and nVida display reportts:
Adapter string: Geforce GT 330M
Bios Information: Version 70.16.58.4.0
Total available Graphics memory: 1370 MB
Dedicated Video Memory: 512MB
System Video memory: 0 MB
Shared system memory: 858 MB
hmmm. What? 1.37GB ????? Did I miss something? Whats up? Is this the cause?
Skip

The win7 32bit only recognizes 3Gb and part of it is shared with the on board intel video card. If you want to use all the ram then you'll have to get the a win7 64bit.

• Windows 7 No 4GB (32bit) and in 64bit BootCamp drivers do not work!!!

Hello. I have a MacBook 3,1 (late 2007 model) with 4GB RAM. Under Windows 7 32bit, only 2.96gb Ram is useable and the Boot Camp drivers run fine. How do I get Windows 7 to recognize the entire 4GB? I have used bcdedit /set pae ForeceEnable and that doesn't do anything, still 2.92gb useable not 4gb although W7 recognizes the 4Gb as available? How to enable to fully?
Second, 64bit Windows 7 recognzes the full 4gb but the Boot Camp drivers do not install at all! Hence, no mouse, sounce is crap/unusable, and the rest of the Apple devices are crap. I have downloaded BootCamp 2.1 update but in 64bit Vista, when I run BootCampx64.msi it sells me "Bot Camp x64 is not supported for this model." Hence, the 64bit drivers do not install DESPITE a 64bit OS.
I went to the Genius Bar but the guy was an oaf and didn't know anything helpful. Help please!?!!!
Help please.

That is because 32bit version do not support 4 gigs of memory. It only supports up to 2 gigs even though it can read more than that.
Windows 7 is not fully supported as it is not released yet. You might be able to find some Windows Vista 64bit drivers for it but there is no guarantee that it will work.
You are incorrect! I am UPGRADING from Vista 32bit which supports 4GB of RAM with SP1. If you read my original post, you will see that I already tried the Vista 64bit drivers in Windows 7 64bit.
Windows 7 is downloadable from Microsoft and also supported already by Parallels v4 and the latest Fusion.
Hence, my original questions stand: How can I enable fully enable 4GB in Windows 7 32bit? Or, install, with Windows 7 64bit, install the correct Boot Camp drivers?
As I said, when brunning the Vista 64bit Boot Camp drivers in Windows 7 64bit, it says "Vista x64 Boot Camp not supported on this model."
Anyone have any suggestions?

• Adobde Document Services only on 32 Bits ?

Hi ALL,

         Available on Windows 2003 Server/2000 Pro//XP on 32bit only ( Slide #  9 of PPT dtd. 08 May 2008 )
..so, if We want to Integrate Adobe Document Services with ECC 6.0 64 Bit ABAP + JAVA - is it Possible or not ? or we MUST
have separate 32 Bit Server Exclusively for Adobe Document Services ?
Any / ALL Inputs are most welcome.

Thus, Windows Server 2003 x64 should be supported.

• I have a new tower in 64bit and need to reinstall photoshop cs6 from 32bit

Is it possible to reinstall from adobe site in 64bit?

The original Install media shoud have 32 and 64 bit installers. If the system is 64 bit, it gives the option to install both. If it's 32bit, only that one will install.
If you don't have your original install media, you can download CS6 here: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html
You must follow the instructions VERY CAREFULLY. There's a link to login with your Adobe ID and then you have to refresh the downloads page or the download links WILL NOT WORK.

Wish you and England all the luck to beat Portugal in World Cup this time. Looking at the way Portugal has performed in their first match, I think Rooney and boys have a real good chance!
On the DW side, I wanted to understand what is typical file sizes(No of lines of code present) of files that you are generally using in DW.
This would help us design and create features around it much better.

Old apps that run under Snow Leopard will not run under Lion? That's cruel.
Two problems: Snow Leopard has the Roseta-environment, that emulates a PowerPC. Lion does not have this any longer, so you can only run Intel-Applications in Lion (or universal binaries).
My PowerPC Applications look like this in Lion - I see quite a few "ghost busters" - mostly device drivers for my Nikon Scan, Panoramamaker, etc.
Since MacOS 10.7.4 the next generation of Applications is approaching - 64bit-only-applications, and 32bit plug-ins will be  left out - all 32bit-only external editors. The newest version of Aperture requires a 64bit Intel processor and will not except 32bit plug-ins- all older NIK plug-ins are a problem.

• Only Pentium 3's do not support running 64 bit operating systems Or there are others processors as well

Hi,
I was told that 'Unfortunately Pentium 3's do not support running 64 bit operating systems.'
However, I really noticed many other people say that I should run a hardware reading program, such as 'SecurAble' to be sure that my processor will be capable to run 64Bit operating systems or not.
Thus, if only Pentium 3's do not support running 64 bit operating systems, then there is no need from running such a program(screen shot below).
I really run this program using Windows 7(64Bit) with HP Laptop Core i5. And this is the reslut:
64-Bit Processing Available
This processor does offer 64-bit modes of operation. This means that this system is able to run the significantly more secure 64-bit versions of Microsoft's Windows XP and Vista operating systems.
The biggest challenge for 64-bit Windows systems is the fact that existing 32-bit device drivers cannot be used by the 64-bit operating system kernel. So if you do plan to try switching to 64-bit Windows, you should be sure to have a means for reverting
to 32-bit operation if your system's hardware turns out to be incompatible with 64-bit operation. Many people have reverted to 32-bit operation after bravely giving 64-bits a try for a short time.
A man should convert his anger and sadness into strength to continue living in this life.

Pentium 4 CPU s may or may not be 64bit capable depending on the specific model.  Intel introduced 64bit versions after a number of 32bit only models. All mainstream later Intel CPU's are 64bit capable.  The Atom processor may be 32 or 64 bit capable.
There is similar path with AMD CPU's, e.g. early Athlons were 32bit only, with later models 64 bit capable.

• 32bit program on 64bit

Hi friend, I have one program wich run on 32bit only.
There's a way, like VM option, to run the program on 64bit as if the machine would be 32bit??....thank you

A Java program? A pure Java problem should not care at all, if it's run on a 32 or a 64bit Machine/OS/JVM (except maybe for the amount of memory that's available).
If the program loads native libraries, then this might indeed be necessary.
Try the -d32 switch, which should tell Java to use a 32 bit JVM. Alternatively you need to download the 32bit JRE.

• 32bit and 64bit Apps using Crystal 2010sp1 with a recordset

Hi
I'm using Crystal 2010sp1 with VS2010. I have some code that I did not write, which obtains a recordset and passes that to the ReportDocument. It then goes on to .Export() the report.
When my app is compiling as 32bit the .DataSourceConnections on the ReportDocument contains 1 item with the following properties:
DataBaseName=""
DBConnHandler=0
IntegratedSecurity=False
LogonProperties = { "ADO.Net DataSet Object", "0,4AFECC" }  { "ADO.Net DataSet Object", "0,4AFECC" }
{ "Internal Connection ID", "2e3b2f7f-0c31-472a-9773-f301a7ba9a3e" }  { "Internal Connection ID", "2e3b2f7f-0c31-472a-9773-f301a7ba9a3e" }
Password = ""
ServerName = "NewDataSet"
Type = CRQA
UserID = Nothing
And it exports perfectly!!
When compiled as "Any CPU" and running on a 64bit machine, the properties are:
DataBaseName=""
DBConnHandler=0
IntegratedSecurity=False
LogonProperties = { "Field Definition File", "BL_Extras.ttx" } { "Field Definition File", "BL_Extras.ttx" }
Password = ""
ServerName = "D:\EntaV4\ENTAReports\rpt\BL_Extras.ttx"
Type = CRQA
UserID = Nothing
And the export fails with the exception:
"Failed to load database information. Error in File BL_Extras {9D634275-70C4-42E8-B7EE-C2A69C0CDD2B}.rpt: Failed to load database information."
Why under 64bit is Crystal setting different connection details? And where is it getting the path for the ttx file in the ServerName property, my app and report are on my C drive in a totally different location. That folder on D had never existed on my machine.
I do happne to have the ttx file for this report, but putting it next to the rpt or in the above path makes no difference. I don't have the ttx for other reports though anyway and running as 32bit it works even if I delete the ttx though.
I have searched the error and found several pre-SP1 and non-recordset scenarios. I also read a little about create XML files for the reports but that is going to be too much work as there are hundreds of reports. It's not a lack of a 64bit ADO driver is it?
I thought i'd ask here for other solutions before I step back in time 10 years and make this app 32bit only.
I'm pretty sure this all worked on 2008 with CR2008.....

I exported the data as XML from my datatable like you said. I did it both running as x64 and x86, the output was the same.
I thought i'd eliminate any bad code that might be in my main app by writing a little test app that loads that xml and drops it in a viewer control. I started a new project in VS, added a form with the Crystal Report viewer. I then wrote code to load the rpt file, and read the xml into a dataset, and then setdatasource on a report object to the first table of that dataset (which is what my main app is doing).
Dim crReportDocument As New ReportDocument
Dim filePath As String
Dim ds As DataSet
filePath = "c:\64crystal.xml"
ds = New DataSet()
ds.ReadXml(filePath)
crReportDocument.Load("C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SchedulerManager\rpt\BL_Extras.rpt")
crReportDocument.SetDataSource(ds.Tables(0))
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
Running it in x86 I am prompted for some parameters that the report required, and then the report renders in the viewer perfectly, no problems.
Running this app in x64 prompted me for the parameters, and then I get a msgbox saying:
Failed to load database information
Error in File BL_Extras {CD6C5C52-744C-433E-9297-87ECC3834262}.rpt:
Failed to load database information.
So then going back to what you asked, I went to the viewer control and click 'choose a crystal report' I get a 'Bad forumula result' error. If I select 'Create a new Crystal Report' and then 'From and existing report' and select the rpt file i'm working with. It then shows the rpt file in the VS designer with all the fields and sections and looks fine, though returning to the viewer gives the 'Bad Formula result' again. Seem to get this on several reports so am assuming its just because there is no data yet.
On this report now in my project I went to set datasource location and selected the XML it then shows NewDataSet with Table under it in the treeview. The update button is disabled if i select the table. If I select the dataset and click update it tells me:
"Some tables could not be replaced, as no match was found in the new data source. Please specify the table required for any unmodifeid tables". The top pane of this window is showing the file details of the ttx that it thinks is located on the D drive.
If I go to database expert and move the table over it then prompts me to find the ttx file. It doesn't let me skip this so I give in and tell it where it is. I then get the link tab. It shows the ttx with 23 fields and my xml table with 27 fields. It has 11 fields linked automatically,
A comparrison of the ttx and XML in notepad shows the following, the bold fields are the ones that did not auto link.
DateOption, ttx:Number, xml:unsignedByte
StartDate, ttx:dateTime, xml:dateTime
EndDate, ttx:dateTime, xml:dateTime
VenueGroups, ttx:Memo, xml:string
Profiles, ttx:Memo, xml:string
Users, ttx:Memo, xml:string
Extras, ttx:Memo, xml:string
RepGrouping: ttx:Number, xml:unsignedByte
IncludeDiscount, ttx:Number, xml:unsignedByte
VgrDescription, ttx:String(50), xml:string
CurSymbol, ttx:String(3), xml:string
CurName, ttx:String(30), xml:string
CurScaleFactor, ttx:Number, xml:short
ProDescription, String(50), xml:string
UseName, String(30), xml:string
TransactionDate, ttx:Datetime, xml:dateTime
StxCode, ttx:Number, xml:int
StxDescription, ttx:String(100), xml:string
MrwID, ttx:String(3), xml:string
MrwDescription, ttx:String(100), xml:string
Sales, ttx:Number, xml:int
Returns, ttx:Number, xml:int
Reserved, ttx:Number, xml:int
GrossSalesAmount, ttx:Currency, xml:decimal
GrossReservedAmount, ttx:Currency, xml:decimal
SalesVAT, ttx:Currency, xml:decimal
ReservedVAT, ttx:Currency, xml:decimal
Right clicking on all of these bold items on the table side (in the link tab) says that those bold fields are type Number. So not sure why the first 8 don't link as they are looking for Number. As for the last 4, in SQL these fields are type money, once read by vb.net into a datatable they are of type decimal. Not sure what crystal is expecting here.
I can manually link the 8, but it tells me for the 4 currency fields that the "data types are not compatibile"
I still don't get why if running as 32bit and passing the datatable from xml or sql to the rpt, even without the ttx, works without issue.
I think for now that i'm going to have to simply compile my main app for 32bit, but would still like to understand what is going on here. Thanks for helping to look into this.
Tony.

• Junos Pulse 4.0 not working in Windows 8.1

Hi,
anyone got a Junos Pulse 4.0 release version working on 8.1? After the upgrade from 8 to 8.1 both my Cisco VPN client and Junos Pulse client stopped working because of resp. a yellow triangle for the Deterministic Network Enhancer and the Juniper Miniport
WAN driver. Via the Citrix page I updated the DNE and this solves the problem for the Citrix VPN client, but this Juniper Miniport WAN driver problem remains and actually totally destroys the network stack. It adds the faulty driver to all NICs making them
unuseable.
JP4 is not officially supported for 8.1 until release 4.0R7, however release 4.0R6 should take care of the most critical probleems. But the problem with the drivers existed from release 4.0R3.
I've tried removing drivers, registry entries, software and reinstalling many times but unsuccessful thusfar.
Much obliged
Marcel
PS version 4.0R7 won't be available until december.

Hi ctaggart,
thanks for the follow up. From the Supported Platforms Guide (http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/pulse/releasenotes/j-pulse-5.0r1-supportedplatforms.pdf)
I do get the impression the 32bit Windows 8.1 is not fully supported. For some reason IE11 (standard in 8.1) is not on the supported browser list for 32bit, only for 64... A bit odd but maybe not relevant in my case.
But, I've received the 5.0R1 version (32bit) and installed it (created a restore point to be safe).
First try: immediately a blue screen of death when installing the drivers.
Second try; the software installed successfully but unfortunately the thick Junos client still is unable to secure the connection. The Juniper Networks Virtual Adapter (still) cannot be loaded. I verified the version of the driver: jnprva.sys which seems
to be the same as earlier releases: 5.40.0.27939.
The Junos Log files do not really help.
When I look at the Device Manager I still see that annoying 'Juniper Network Agent Miniport' appear behind each network adapter. But at least the warning sign for that thing is gone everywhere! The only warning that remains is the JNVA, however I'm pretty
sure that all those 'duplications' are not a good sign.
Another good sign is that my other VPN clients (Junos built-in and Cisco) still work(!), so a restore is not required at this point.
The reason I need to get this client working is that the Built-in client cannot access VPN urls such as
https://vpn.mysite.com/employees and this is (unfortunately) how it is setup by our admins.
Frustrating....

Hello. Toshiba NB250-G, part no. PLL2XE-001001EN originally with win 7 32 bit.
I'm trying to install Vista for reason of compatibility with family machines. The installation proceeds to collecting files and then stops with the following message:- Error code 0x80070070 Windows cannot copy files required for installation etc etc. I suspect the need for a driver to precede the windows files.
Can anyone help me, please?

Hi
I have checked Toshiba download page and, as I can see your machine is not supported for Vista. It is supported for Win7 32bit only so, in my opinion it would be better to stay with Win7.
I don't know what kind of compatibility is important for you but there is no big difference between Vista and Win7.
I presume you have created bootable USB stick with Vista. When Vista setup wizard starts is HDD recognized properly? Can you create or choose partition where OS should be installed?

• Boot Camp - Which Windows XP? Partition size?

A long fan of Mac's, I'm now going to use a new iMac primarily as a Windows computer using Boot Camp for my office which uses Windows-only software.
1. Which versions of Windows XP Pro are compatible? Windows XP Professional x64 Edition? Microsoft Windows XP Professional with SP2? All of them?
2. How much partition space should I leave for OS X with a 1 TB hard drive if I will use that for browsing, iChat, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop?
Thanks.

From experience I have 4gb installed and XP 32bit only recognises 3gb on my macbook, although it is generally between 2.75~3.5gb for any system, depending on the devices installed, motherboard's chipset & BIOS. This is because of the IO reservations overlaying the physical address space and mask out those physical addresses so that it cannot be used for working memory (i.e. your PCI may use 0.5gb, thus your windows in bootcamp only shows 3.5gb ram available).
As for 32 and 64 bit XP, go 32bit as there is little support for 64bit applications. Use macdrive on windows and get the NTFS kernal hack to allow you to write to NTFS partitions. That way you can read/write to your windows partition from mac and read/write to your mac partition from windows. Although I would suggest getting two smaller hard drives, or a couple of them and not partitioning (use 1 for mac OS and applications, 1 for windows + apps and 1 could be a backup).
