OData Service Internal Server Error

Hello,
I developed SAP Netweaver Gateway Odata Service and I get "Internal Server Error" 500 on READ Operation. BAPI Itself does function well.
Where could be the problem?
Regards
Vladislav

Hi Vladislav,
You will get further information about the nature of the error by checking the error logs in the server(s), tcodes /iwbep/error_log and/or /iwfnd/error_log. If you have an embedded GW server, look in the /iwfnd logs.
You may find the list is blank until you use the 'Re-select' button and change the settings, so don't assume there are not errors to see!.
Make sure you have full trace access settings configured in views /IWFND/V_LOGV and /IWBEP/C_LOGV. These views are normally empty, there are two possible new entries that can be made and the possible values are on the F4 lists.
If this is a data translation error, you won't get a direct answer from the log but it can be used to pin down the nature of the exception.
If you can get this far, I can point you on to a technique for analysing the error during runtime - but it needs an error log result to be able to relate to.
Regards
Ron.

• Azure Cloud Service internal server error (500) while scaling up

I experienced multiple times that scaling up a Cloud Service from 1 (small) instance to 2 (small) instances causes a few minutes of downtime with request returning a an error 500. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Thanks for the reply!
Every initialization code is in OnStart() and in case of .cmd scripts, in <Startup> <Task>s inside the service definition... So I suppose until that is run to completion the Azure load balancer shouldn't dispatch any requests to the new instance.
I tested today everything again, this time with Windows Server 2012 R2 (the Cloud Service didn't use R2 before). The issue is the same:
Scaling up the service to two instance.
Second instance is being deployed and starts.
Requests going to the first instance work (i.e. since clients stick to their instance users who visited the site before the scale-up will continue to be serve through the first instance, hence not noticing anything). Requests going to the second instance
don't work (internal server error), but the main issue is that requests start to go to the second instance before it is fully initialized!
(I.e. Azure Management Portal says the role is starting, but still, I can manage to get my request to it, thus I suppose the load balancer does dispatch requests while the role is not fully started yet.)
Failed request tracing doesn't show anything related (it started to trace after the role got full initialized, but requests reached the instance before this). I can clearly see from the event logs that the ARR installation (run as a startup task) ended after
the first requests could reach it.
To summarize, when scaling up the following happens with the second, initializing instance:
The instance's state is correctly shown on the Management Portal and it's busy, starting.
The instance still gets requests before it gets fully started.
After the instance is fully started everything works normally.
Is this normal?

• 500 Internal Server Error invoking web service

I assembled and deployed a (PL/SQL package based) web service to OC4J 9.0.4 like documented in a number of FAQs and tutorials. All went well until I try to invoke a function: I already had to add jasper.zip to the WEB-INF\lib folder to resolve a ClassDefNotFound (and succeeded), but now I receive the following error:
With Mozilla and internet Explorer 6, requesting the address
http://localhost:8888/samplews/sampleWS?invoke=getproperty
results in the error
500 Internal Server Error
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun/tools/java/RuntimeConstants
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:620)
Ok, sun/tools/java/RuntimeConstants can be found in tools.jar (I use JDK 1.5.0_06, Oracle 10.1.0.3 and OC4J 9.0.4), so I copied %java_home%\lib\tools.jar to WEB-INF\lib of the deployed web application, restarted OC4J and verified using ProcessExplorer, which JARs and ZIPs had been loaded by "java -jar oc4j.jar". Among many others, I found all extension libraries, including the two I placed in WEB-INF\lib. But alas, still the Servlet Engine seems unable to resolve the package sun/tools/java/RuntimeConstants, despite tools.jar being obviously loaded by java.exe: the error decribed above persists.
%J2EE_HOME%\log\http-web-site.log contains
http://localhost:8888/samplews/sampleWS?invoke=getproperty HTTP/1.1" 500 3413
The other log files seem to contain no helpful info.
I'm at my wits end - what can I do? Do I miss something obvious?
Any comment or advice is welcome.

Hello,
This class is part of the JDK, so could you clarify which JDK you are using and be sure that when starting OC4J you are using a JDK environment (contains for example javac command) and not a JRE (no javac).
Could you check that and post the result in the forum.

• Sip 503 service unavailable and sip 500 internal server error

Hi guys,could any one help me in the following.
ITSP-->Voice gateway configured as CUBE-->CUCM-->UCCX
I am moving a system from cme and aa enviroment to cucm and uccx
The VGW is configured as CUBE and also is added as h323 gateway on cucm.
When i tested the debug ccsip messages shows
Sip 503 service unavailable or
sip 500 internal server error.
I can't now provide any debugs cause i am not on site,only on Saturday.
As i read in previous discussion that could be the bind source address problem but i had this configured.
Also i tried to configure the gateway instead of h232 to use sip trunk from cucm,but after this the incoming calls didn't even reach the router,the debug ccsip messages showed nothing.
For now can any one advice me to what these 2 errors related to.
What could be missing?
Thanks in advance.

Hi there : can some one explain the reason that i am getting this sip error with itsp:

So I see it is not only a address book issue, though it is the first visible hint you get about it. I also get the Password request window for "Retrieving Response Groups" after the log in.
I looked at similar issues, but what I found was mainly Kerberos issues, but that is not the case here, the user is able to access the folders.

Hi,
Try the way the following thread mentioned:

not being able to understand where i made the mistake. mistake is in the code of web service end or in calling code?
help me to fix this issue. thanks

Hi Mou,
I just tried your win app code about calling web service, but failed. I got the 500 error after I called your service:
The error message I quoted from Fiddler:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"><soap:Body><soap:Fault><faultcode>soap:Client</faultcode><faultstring>System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Failed : Invalid credentials ---> System.Exception: Invalid credentials
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---
at BBAReman.WebSearchIndex.SearchDataIndex.StartIndex(AuthHeader auth)</faultstring><faultactor>http://www.bba-reman.com/Search/SearchDataIndex.asmx</faultactor><detail /></soap:Fault></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>
I am not totally sure that error occurred by the authentication. But I suggest you can try to add this service into your project using this method below:
1.right click the Reference and select Add Service Reference
2.input your service link and click "Go"
And you can use this service as the following:
private async void callService()
ServiceReference1.SearchDataIndexSoapClient client =new ServiceReference1.SearchDataIndexSoapClient();
var Str= await client.StartIndexAsync(new ServiceReference1.AuthHeader { Username = "Admin", Password = "Admin" });
Please try it.

• Changed SP application pool service account - 500 internal server error

Hi all,
Trying to resolve some farm installation issues in our test environment. Long story short is that on install a previous user used our SP_Farm account to install everything and pretty much use this account to run all web applications/services.
So I am in the process of trying to resolve one portion of it by allocating a new managed account for the web application pools. I have created a new account called SP_Pool on the DC. This is just a domain user with no specific rights applied (classic authentication).
I changed the account using CA "configure service accounts" for both our mysite and SharePoint site web apps.
SP applied the new SP_Pool to the appropriate workstation groups and DB rights. Tried to hit the site and got the rather generic HTTP 500 Internal Server error. Put SP_Pool into the local admin rights group to test and was able to hit the site so something
is definitely pointing to a rights/permission issue. I was under the impression the app pool accounts did not require any local SP server rights? I have seen mention of "Impersonate a client after authentication" but that's only for Claims based
auth
I've gone through every scenario which are mentioned below:
Tried to connect from a client machine and server. 500 error
All App pools are started and SP_Pool is running both web apps
IIS bindings are same as before
no changes to the web.config
No errors in the Application event viewer
Checked iis logs and has 500 errors throughout it. The 4th number in the sequence usually changes (i.e. 500 0 0 499, 500 0 0 468 etc)
Turned on Failed Request Tracing and no issue has come up
Tried to clear the configuration cache - same deal
Ran process mon - seen nothing out of the ordinary
So based off the above is there anywhere else I could look to try and resolve this issue? Or is there something so damn obvious I've missed here? Running out of ideas
Appreciate any feedback
Thanks

Hello,
Have you tried to turn your SharePoint server off and on again ( I know , it sounds like a basic helpdesk answer but in the case of changing user account for application pool, it already fixed the issue for me)
Best regards, Christopher.

I'm using SOA suite 10.1.3.3 (incl the latest patch set) on Windows XP.
I've created 3 web services using the wizard interface out of 3 existing WSDL files. The Java code inside the web services is just dummy code.
I'm testing the web services using the Test Web Service functionality in Oracle Enterprise Manager's Application Server Control.
The moment I fill in the data and press invoke, I get back the following fault:
<env:Body>
<env:Fault>
<faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
<faultstring>Internal Server Error (Caught exception while handling request: java.lang.NullPointerException)</faultstring>
</env:Fault>
</env:Body>
I know that control never reaches inside the services themselves.
I've even followed the online demo that shows users how to create, deploy and test a Web Service in JDeveloper to make sure that I wasn't doing anything silly.
What could be wrong? Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Seems to be a problem in serialization??? What do I do?
When I invoke the web service from a web proxy client, this is the stack trace:

--Steve

Steve,
The 500 error is what we get back from the target server.
This is probably not a bug since I don't think that MII has ever supported the SOAP-Fault node to build the response XML.

PS: For those of you reading this we had an offline discussion about this.

• Windows Azure Pack setup - 500 Internal Server Error - failed to configure databases and services

Hi,
I am trying to setup the Windows Azure pack to use the site to configure the Service bus 1.1 installation. When I try to configure the Windows Azure Pack I get the following error:
Admin Authentication Site
500 Internal Server Error - Failed to configure databases and services: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I'm not sure where the logs are to see what is causing this error. I have tried running as admin, running as a different user with no luck.
thanks,
Georgi
