Odbc driver for DG-UX TRU 64 -please HELP

can anyone tell me where to find one that will anable unix process to talk to oracle db?,
also since i telent to access the DB from a pc(win 95 do i need to instal for both for client i.e win 95 and also for the server (DG-UX)or would just server be fine?
Thanking you
alka

I suspect this is going to be a rather tall order. Oracle's ODBC driver is a Windows-only product, so your PC would be able to connect to the database easily. I have heard of Solaris ODBC drivers, but I'm not sure who produces them (possible Merant). I've never heard of a company releasing DG-UX ODBC drivers.
The reason our ODBC driver is Windows-only is that ODBC relies on a number of components, i.e. the ODBC Driver Manager, which Microsoft provides. ODBC drivers for other products requires that these components be rewritten for the new platform, which is a very difficult task.

    Hi Satish
It could be an issue with the driver.
You can try with the OLEDB n Oracle native connection to test if the issue persists.
Also you can refer to the [Troubleshooting Database Connectivity for Crystal Reports|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/d05b3bb7-0f28-2c10-4ea3-84dbdc4e414e&overridelayout=true]

  • Where can I find the ODBC driver for ORACLE XE

    Hi,
Please help me in urgent. Where can I download the ODBC driver for Oracle XE?
The OTN site I had visited but cannot find the suitable ODBC drive for Oracle XE, or (but, I am not sure) the ODBC 10g is suitable I had downloaded it but require Oracle Universal Installer to install.

Have you checked the OTN site?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odbc/index.html
Update: Drivers for 10g should work with XE. Can't say anything about the installation procedure, since I don't use/install ODBC.

  • Unable to see ODBC driver for Oracle on ODBC Administrator

    Hi,
I have installed oracle client 11g (64 bit) on window server 2008 (64 bit). I am trying to create 32 bit ODBC DSN for 32 bit application.
So from syswow64 folder, i am running odbcad32.exe but i am not able to see Oracle for OracleClient in driver list.
    Can you please help me?

You need to install 32 bit client software to get the 32 bit driver. Make sure to install it into a different home, and copy over your tnsnames.ora. Unlike multiple homes of the same bits, a single 32 bit home and a 64 bit home play fairly well together.
    Hope it helps,

My iTunes won't open! It keeps saying 'The iTunes Library.itl is locked on a locked disk or you not have write permission for this file.' Please Help!

this may happen on external drives if:
The external drive was hotpluged (removed) without going the correct "eject" way
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
    First Aid for external drive
    Close iTunes
Unmount (eject) external drive the right way.
    Mount drive again
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up" This will force the filesystem to rescan the file structure of the drive and rebuilding the file system table and journaling file.
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive) restart iTunes
If your iTunes library is on your internal drive, this may happen
The system was not shoot down correct, e.g. "pulled the plug"
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
First Aid for internal hard drive
    Close iTunes
    Reboot system
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up"
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive)
    Reboot system, restart iTunes
If none of the above fixes your problem, post here.

  • Been stuck for over  a year, please help me do this

so i have this laptop with 8gb ram and core i7 as well as 2 hdd (no raid).
Now i heard about premiere (cs4) and my laptop is ready to take most of the advantage but the hard drive is the bootleneck.
Basically, all i want is to do few cuts in a video that was filmed by sony hdr-sr11 camcoder in hd 1080 60i settings. Now i heard i need 3 hard drives etc, but at the moment, i only have 2.
So is there anyway i can do simple cuts in premiere without losing any quality and slowdown in fps or is there any other software that can be better? I really don't want to lose any quality or fps with the g73jh-a2 asus laptop i have?
i also have ati 5870 video card

The lowest was 19mb, but was floating arond 30mb. Still that aint good..
I can't afford the partition magic and i heard its not good to partition after installing windows. I am thinking of fresh install, but if there is a workaround, it would save me tons of time as not installing apps etc.
    For the setup
1)Can i have the programs in secondary drive? What about just a game or 2?
2)By projects, do you mean the videos that im going to edit?
    3)what is scratch?
    4) By media, do you mean videos im going to edit?
Lastly, what about a bit of data? Like <50gb.. Pictures documents etc

i did hdtune and was the os drive was 100mb-19mb in the end and the
    secondary one was 105-45~mbps
Those figures are disturbing. For any reasonably modern 7200 RPM disk these figures should be around 120 - 60 MB/s. If it goes down to below 20, something is seriously wrong. Now that may be caused by your partitioning or something else, hard to discern from here, but these results are worrisome.
Maybe Partition Magic can help you get rid of all these partitions, otherwise a complete reformat and fresh install of OS & programs is all that is left.
Setup should be something like this:
    C: OS & programs & projects
    D: Pagefile, scratch and media
It depends a bit on the nature of your projects, your workflow, but in general you set up your disks in such a way that disk accesses are spread over the available disks as much as possible.

  • ODBC Driver for 64 bit not visible

Hello, I have installed the instant client for odbc followed by the odbc driver for 10.2 (64-bit). However, when I look for the odbc drivers only the default SQL driver shows up. Am I missing something?

    Hi,
Can you please specify the version of operating system along with the bit version.
Also, specify the path of ODBC data source administrator (odbcad32.exe).
    thanks and regards

  • ODBC driver for Win Server 2008 64-bit.

I need help with installing the ODBC driver for Win 2008 64-bit. I'm not really familiar with Oracle products but anyway I was asked to install the driver. I downloaded Oracle 11g ODAC 11.1.0.7.20 which includes the Oracle ODBC Driver 11.1.0.7.0 from this link http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odpnet/index.html. I only needed the ODBC driver so that's what I selected during installation (plus one other required component). The installation was successful but when I go into ODBC admin to add a new data source I don't see the Oracle driver. I probably downloaded the wrong software. Can someone point me to the right direction? Thanks.

I need to install the developer suite first in order to get tnsnames and sql plusThat's wrong, you need to install the correct client:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10203vista-087538.html
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10204-winx64-vista-win2k8-082253.html
Note: If you have Windows 2008 R2, you need patchset 10.2.0.5, which is only available from MOS/metalink.

The above link is a comprehensive "How to get set up and on my way" that I made for someone else learning Oracle/jdbc. Kind of a self-help resource page. I would start from the beginning and download the newest drivers, then set up your environment,...etc.
    hope this helped,

Can anybody please let me know if Oracle provides such ODBC Driver?Never seen an ODBC driver for Oracle on Linux. Perl uses its own abstraction interface. PHP uses its own abstraction interface. Ditto for Java. (keep in mind that ODBC is a Microsoft invention)
And the OCI is not that more complex to use than ODBC. In fact, OCI is a lot more powerful. And the Oracle® Call Interface Programmer's Guide has numerous source code examples you can essentially copy and paste and modify for your needs. See Appendix B. Demonstration Programs.
The resulting code is also a lot more portable - relying directly on an OCI client driver, instead of an ODBC driver that runs on top of an OCI driver.

  • Specifying Partner Failover in odbc.ini for Linux ODBC driver for SQL Server

    Hi,
We are trying to specify the partner failover when making connections via Linux ODBC driver for SQL Server. Do you know a way to specify partner failover in the DSN entry in odbc.ini?
We are using Linux ODBC driver for SQL Server and unixODBC DriverManager.
    Our DSN is:
    [MyDSN]
Driver=ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server
    Description=MyDSN
    Server=MySERVER,<port>
I also tried to use the following connection string in Python (via pyodbc) bypassing the DSN and connecting using the server name.
    cnxn = pyodbc.connect("Server=server1,<port>;UID=sa;PWD=<pwd>;Driver=ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server;Failover_Partner=Server2,<port2>;Database=MyDB")
If the standby DB is on server1 connection fails. It doesn't try server2. If the DB is principal on server1 connection succeeds.
    Thank you,
     Liviu

    Hello,
Did you use ODBC Driver for SQL Server to connect to database that uses database mirroring?
    According to
the BOL,it does not list "Failover_Partner" as ODBC Driver for Linux connection string keywords.
But ODBC driver for Linux supports
AlwaysOn Availability Groups or Failover Cluster Instance by specify MultiSubnetFailover=True when connecting to a SQL Server 2012 availability group listener or SQL Server 2012 Failover Cluster Instance.
The following case is about similar issue and it seems that ODBC Driver on Linux does not recognize Failover_Partner in connection string. (Not test myself). You can refer to:

    Hello sir..
    thanks for ur reply...
for oracle 10g -----> we use XE as datasourse
    name..What?
now i am using oracle 8i...Not so from the code you posted. Didn't I see "jdbc:odbc:..." in your first post?
    so what should i
    write...in the datasourse name...that means.......
    Connection
    con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@loc
alhost:1521:????????","scott","tiger");Do you really use the default username and password?
What should i write in place of ?????????..The name of the database you wish to connect to, of course.
Do you have your tnsnames.ora set up properly? Did you install this database?
None of this has ANYTHING to do with the error you posted, of course. Fix that first and then worry about the thin driver. At least it appears that the code you posted managed to connect to the database.
