ODBC error in BI Launch pad

hi,
am very new to SAP BI/BW/BO
i am getting error while running the query in BI launch pad, which i imported from the UDT
in UDT the values are being displayed and all the parameters were clearly defined
the query is being running perfectly in RICH CLIENT but the same query unv file is not been running in BI launchpad
where would be the actual problem ????
NOTE:
its showing ODBC error and no default drivers specified.
but as i mentioned above , its displaying the values in UDT and Rich client ( Enterprise ) mode but not in BI Launchpad.
please help me out..?

SAP business intelligence 4.1
32 bit windows home premium

Create the same ODBC connection in server also, so that you will be able to view in BI Launchpad also.

  • Login Error in BI launch Pad as user, BOBJ 4.0

    Hi Expert,
    I am not able login as user in Business object launch pad in order to check the folder assignment to user, error as follow upon login,
    "Account Information Not Recognized: Enterprise authentication could not log you on. Please make sure your logon information is correct. (FWB 00008)"
    Imported the Role from BI to business object environment after assigned to test user and performed the folder assignment to group in CMC, i am using BI logon Authentication for BI test user.
    Note: As a Admin i am only able to logon with the Authentication as Enterprise, not as SAP not sure if that has any thing do for the error.
    I am new to Business object 4.0 security, your help to resolve the issue will be greatly appreciated.

    To get you right:
    - you have imported the roles from your BW system
    - you have imported the BW users within this role into BO
    right?!
    What is important is that you understand that there is different type of users. The one you imported from your BW system is a SAP user so this is normal that you have to use SAP and not Enterprise as authentication medthod. Administrator is an Enterprise user so SAP will not work.
    SAP User are formatted like this when you import them (can be changed):
    <SID>~<CLIENT>/<USER_NAME>
    Then you have a concept of ALIAS, it means that your SAP User could have a enterprise or a AD alias for example and this enables you to use additional authentication method.
    However I think for your test user, you should use the SAP authentication and the error you are getting is just by-design.

  • Send Mail Error through Collaboration Launch Pad

             I have a problem with configuring a Groupware Transport with Exchange Server.
    Step 1 - I created a Groupware System using SAP Standard Template and Specified the
    ystem Parameters like Server and Domain.
    Step 2 - Created System Alias for the Above System.
    Step 3 - Navigated to Groupware Transport and Configured Exchange server and Mail Transport.
    Step 4 - I did User Mapping for the Created System with Parameters like user Id,Password and Mail Server .
    In my case Exchange server,Mail server and SMTP are same parameter (XXX-EXCHANGE)
    When i send a mail from Collaboration Launch Pad,i recieved the following Error
    "The mail could not be sent to the specified recipients"
    When i Checked the log Defualt.trc file,I got the follwing Error.

    Hi santosh,
    I guess, your mail server is not accepting relay from your application server.i mean, Your SMTP server is not set for relaying.
    You have to authenticate yourself to let your SMTP server relay your mails.
    (or)
    Talk to your SMTP server admin to configure in the allowed IP for relaying. Admin will add your app server IP to the allowed/authentication list.

  • Status error in Collaboration Launch Pad

    I still got always an exeption message
    "Service not found: RTCClientAwareness"
    if I try to change the status of my account in the Collaboration Launch Pad. I had everything done described in nw04 help administration document to run RTC although RTC is not working. Any ideas? (by the way, I had used Rapid Installer 2.0 to install EP6.0 on WAS 6.40.)

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
    OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
    Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
    Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
    Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
    Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
    How much free space on it now?

  • Error in viewing a flash snapshot of dashboard via BI Launch Pad

    Hi,
    We currently have a dashboard developed using Dashboard Design (v4.0, SP2).  We generated a flash snapshot and imported the said swf file in BI Launch Pad.  When viewed in BI Launch Pad, an error message appears:
    "Could not connect to BusinessObjects server; Check your network connection. (XLS 000003)
    Could not connect to BusinessObjects server; Check your network connection. (XLS 000003) The object with ID AdMOi,pfn9CjQaXTYnVr0o does not exist in the CMS or you do not have the right to access it."
    When OK is clicked, the dashboard can be viewed but with some data missing from the dashboard snapshot.

    I. Following are the best practices you should follow while migrating dashboards from Business Intelligence 4.0 Feature Pack 03 to Support Package 04:
    Check the version of Dashboard Design and Business Intelligence where the dashboard was created.
    It is recommended to have Dashboard Designer and Business Intelligence on the same patch (including Support Package and Patch).
    Use LCM to upgrade the Dashboard. Check if all the dependencies are seen in LCM while migration.
    If the UNX universe does not show up in the dependencies, include dependent UNX universe manually.　
    After migration, if the destination is on Higher patch (i.e moving from Feature Pack 03 to Support Package 04), Open the dashboard using Dashboard Design (e.g. Support Package 04) and save back to BI platform (without any changes). Alternately, before migration you can re-save the Dashboard to BI platform using destination patch level of Dashboard designer (say Support Package 04 when moving from Feature Pack 03 to Support Package 04). Use LCM to promote Dashboard to destination.
    II. Restart Dashboard Design Cache Server and Dashboard Design Processing Server.

    I am encountering below error when I click on 'Home' button under BI launch Pad in BO BI 4.1 (Operating system - Linux, SP2) but able to log in successfully and can able to run the reports successfully.     Hi Ganesh,
    The issue seems to be related to user security in BI 4.1. It looks like a known bug in some scenarios and has been resolved in BI 4.1 SP03

  • Error in MSS Report (Using MSS Reporting Launch Pad)

    Hello,
    I'm currently using the convert manager's desktop data to MSS report launch pad for the portal.
    When trying to run the report in MSS, I'm getting the error below:
    "Error in Manager Self Service.  When calling the report, the following error occured.  Error when executing query Z_ABCD."  This is from an SAP Query report and I could not determine what caused this error.
    Have anyone encounter this and if you are able to resolve it?

    To set your own Web template as a standard Web template for BEx Broadcasting for queries for the generation of documents, enter the technical name of the Web templates under Query Precalculation.
    To set your own Web template as a standard Web template for reports, enter the technical name of the Web template under Enterpr. Reports.
    Note that if you change settings, you have to restart the J2EE Engine before the changes become effective.

  • An Error Occurred during CHART Generation in BI Launch Pad 4.0

    Hi Guys,
    I am creating a report on BI launch Pad, the query result shows fine in the "Table" format but when i "Turn Into" chart it gives me an error " An Error Occurred During chart generation, The chart cannot be displayed".
    I created the same report in Rich Client and everything is working fine but on the portal the charts cannot be displayed.
    Let me know if anyone has faced this error or has any solution for it.

    try the following:
    1) We created a new Adaptive Processing server by stopping the existing one.
    2) Enabled and Started the new server.
    3) And now you were successfully able to Create, Open and Modify any web Intelligence reports in BI Launchpad.
    It worked for me.
    But the problem is that i had to re create the charts in BI launch pad, the old charts didnt work.
    If you have any other solution let me know.

    We have newly installed BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0 with Client tools.
    When we are trying to open WebI documents from BI Launch Pad we are getting the following error message.

    Did you ever find the solution?  By the way, you should not concern yourself with the AIX system.  You should be able to connect with client tools from your local windows PC usng the corresponding DB 32 bit drivers.
    I am having the same problem only with webi.  Crystal reports work.  Issue was not present on BO4-SP2, but getting this issue on BO4-SP4.  BO4-SP4 webi worked with other clients; but not on this particular install.
    In the past, the issue was fixed by performing a re-install, since there are so many variables that I have seen on this issue.  In this case, I've ran out of options that I know to fix the issue.  It would be helpful to circumvent a new install.

    Hi Yuri,
    the problem with the ConfigComponent also should be fixed with Hotfix 1 (also worked for me).
    See note 792995: Major problems fixed with this Patch 27 Hotfix 1: [...] Config : After upgrading to Portal SP2 Patch 27 the configuration iView did not work.

    What Browser and version ?
    What BI 4.0 SP version, and which Patch2.x ? (2.6 min required for support. Patch2.12 recommended)
    When you say another session,  do you mean a different IE window, or Tab ?
    Are you trying to open multiple webi reports? You can do this in tabs from a single BILaunchPad session .
    --> this error "Expected ')' in regular expression"  isn't know to SAP.  but when i do a Google, it seems to be a java script error in IE.

  • Clean installed 10.8 but it the notification bar has errors, launch pad launches at the speed of a frame a minute.

    I clean installed os 10.8 from 10.7.4 which my iMac came with. Now launch pad launches at a frame rate of like a frame per minute, the notification bar pops up with red unstable looking stuff... Sorta like red snow but now so much. Don't know what to do as I have nothing on the computer. Please help

    How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.

    In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?
    Have you blown the dust out lately?
    Get Temperature Monitor to see if it's heat related...
