ODBC Error, think it's bc of Application.cfm

Ok I'm working on a small e-commerce project and it's been
about a year and a half since I've done programming with CF, so I'm
doing a lot of re-learning, basically everything and only remember
a very small bit, so basically I'm noob again.
OK I built my project, I'm using MySQL as my database
container. Everything runs perfectly fine on my local machine
server but when I go to upload it to my hosting provider. I get the
following error when I try to access the database on the hosting
provider.
Error Diagnostic Information
ODBC Error Code = S1000 (General error)
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'my IP
address' (using password: NO)
The error occurred while processing an element with a general
identifier of (CFQUERY), occupying document position (1:1) to
(1:54).
OK, my guess right now is that it has something to do with
the user and password authentication, and if that's the case, but
to be honest I have no idea whats going on, cause this problem
doesnt occur when I use PostgreSQL. I hope someone on here has been
through this and knows what's up.
Here's the code in my Application.cfm file
<cfapplication name="joecool-ecom" sessionmanagement="yes"
/>
<cfset Request.DSN = "joecool-ecom" />
<cfset REQUEST.BasePath =
GetDirectoryFromPath(GetCurrentTemplatePath())>
I'm completely lost and have been trying to figure this out
for a solid 7+ hours. I'm hoping that it's just something really
really lame and stupid that I'm doing wrong on my side and that it
can be fixed very easily, but part of me questions if my hosting
provider just plain sucks and that I may end up having to switch
providers or something.

well i found a solution and yes it was a b***...
It turns out it had something to do with ODBC on my hosting
provider and MySQL. I ran a test on PostgreSQL and it worked fine,
so I just redid my entire database into PostgreSQL and then changed
all my boolean crap in my code from 1 to TRUE and 0 to FALSE. It
sucked, but at least it works now.
If anyone has any experience with using ODBC with ColdFusion
for MySQL, if you have any ideas of why this error would occur,
please let me know. It has to do with it trying to login
anonymously and not using a PW, but I have no idea how to fix that
on a hosting provider. Talked to them and its just a bunch of
foreigners that don't know anything about computers so....
whatever.
Also if anyone knows any good hosting providers that keep
their ColdFusion current, please let me know. I'm getting away from
mine once my subscription runs out in a few more months. They're
still using ColdFusion 5, which sucks

  • An error occurred while launching/running the application

We've been using Web Start to deliver one of our products for over 2 months. We're getting about 10 downloads of our application a day which is very good considering we're in a very niche market (mapping applications). However, some customers (about 20%) are having a number of problems with Web Start either during installation or during download. For this reason we had to create a stand alone installer for customers that couldn't get Web Start working or more commonly could get Web Start working but couldn't download our application. The most common problem we see is the 'Unable to load resource' problem. I've attached the different errors and different exceptions sent from a customers site. Can you spread any light on this. Is it to do with Web Start not being able to identify the proxy?
    Many thanks in advance

Apologies for the lack of response only I bust my knee a week ago and I've been in agony since. Anyway enough moaning.
Yes users are behind a firewall. From what I can get from Sun the problem stems from JWS's inability to detect script based proxies. This is very frustrating because we have about 25% of our customers that just can't use JWS because of this. Ok so they could type it in manually, however, how many system support people are going to give out those sorts of details to end users, besides most end user don't even know what a proxy is!
To get around this we've provided a standalone installer (which defies the point of JWS in the first place). Don't get me wrong I think JWS is an amazing piece of software, however, I can't see how JWS can be used successful across the internet until this is solved, intranet, extranet fine.
In our experience you can't leave 25% of your customer base behind!

  • OLE DB or ODBC error: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied

    Hi,
I have one client and one server.  In both hosts I created an OS-user named User1.
The user have been given various role under the prefix SQLServer2005.
The default instance of SQL Server and instance (background-process) of
Analysis Service are also run under User1.
I connected via Management Studio to Analysis Service directly in the
server.  I set the permission to access Analysis Service to Everyone.
This means everyone should be able to use Analysis Service.  I have set
ODBC data source to the server.  Testing was successful.
I created a project to create a cube.  The tables are fairly small (total 300 MB, biggest one 290).
On project setting (created at client) I set the server host as
deployment target. I managed to deploy project when all I have are Data
    Source and Data Source Views.
But on deployment I always failed.   The errors remain the same, begins with
OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.; 08001.
I have tried 4 combinations of Impersonation :
    (A) Use a specific username and password
      * in which I supply User1 and the password of User1
    (B) Use the service account
    (C) Use the credentials of the current user
    (D) Default
Why is this? The server does certainly exist.  I think the error message is wrong.
I have seen 3 posting that seems related.  One of them say the solution is giving the right impersonation, but gave no detail.  About the privilege, User1 are granted the role of
    SQLServer2005MSOLAP.  What is the solution?
    Thank you,
    Bernaridho

I just had this problem and solved it by creating an alias in SQL Server Configuration Manager, as below:
Scenario: My SQL server is accessible from the internet under my.domain.com, and from itself at ServerName. But the local network can't see itself through the router at my.domain.com, so the deployed project is unable to process the cube, since that would
require Analysis Services to be able to see the SQL Server at my.domain.com, which it can't do.
So I changed the server in my project from my.domain.com to ServerName, and I created a local alias to ServerName in SQL Server Configuration Manager, under SQL Native Client 11.0 Configuration, Aliases. In my case, I pointed it to localhost port 1333, and
used SSH -L 1333:my.domain.com:1433, but I could have pointed the alias directly to the server, just as well. (Verifying... yes, that worked too, so you can forget SSH if you have no interest in it.)

  • Unknown error 0xE800002E in regard to syncing applications after a restore

I recently had to restore my 2G iPhone. Since then I have had problems syncing and updating some of my applications. I get the message, "Some of the applications in your iTunes library were not installed on the iPhone (name of iPhone) because one or more errors occurred. The arror is always the same and is referred to as "Unknown error (0xE800002E). None of my searches for this error produce results. The four applications referenced are on my iPhone, contrary to what the message says, but when there are updates the sync process breaks down. I visited the Genius Bar and they managed to clear the logjam of unsynced updates but they could not explain how and I still get the error message every time I sync. There have been no new updates since the logjam was cleared so I do not know if updates are still a problem. The fact that I continue to get the eror message suggests that I still have a problem. Can someone explain to me what error (0xE800002E)is and how I might resolve it?

Thank you. The discussion thread that you recommended was very interesting. It started about the same time that I began having problems of another sort with my iPhone and ended up doing a "restore". The first updates after the "restore" would download but not install. The updates began piling up, etc. as I explained in my initial inquiry. In checking my log, I see that I updated to iTunes v.8 on Sept. 11 and started having problems and did the "restore" on Sept. 13 and visited Genuius Bar an the 14th to resolve some issues from the "restore" (iPhone was jittery, jumping from app to app, stirring up icons, etc.). Following that I started having problems installing updates. I was on vacation from Sept. 17 to 29, began getting the 0xE800002E message approx. Sept. 15 and by the time I returned, I had three updates that would not install--Bloomberg, Units and Ecco Note Lite. Back to the Genuius Bar on Sept. 30, got the three updates installed but continued to receive the error message but no new updates. The error message references only four apps, three of which are the ones that would not install plus Sol Free. So there is somewhat of a disconnect between the sequence of events in my case and those described in the discussion that you referred me to. I am a very senior citizen, and since I had problems following my "restore" the first time around, will delay doing another "restore" until I am having an "I can tackle anything" day. I would ask the Genius Bar to do it but it takes too much time and I don't want to wear out my welcome. It is also a chore to lug my computer to the Apple Store. Thank you for your suggestion. I think I will leave my question up a while longer to see what else turns up and will jump into the new discussion as well. One has to also fault Apple in that I was not able to locate that discussion through the search feature before initiating my own discussion.

  • ODBC error generating temp file: "Unable to create file buffer" Server 2008

    Guys:
I have a 32 bit application that has been running for years with no problems under XP and MS Server 2003.
To access the oracle DB we use MFC drivers and ODBC system datasources for Oracle 10g and 11g.
We recently moved from MS Server 2003 to Server 2008 Standard Edition (32 bit).
We also upgraded our DB from 10g to 11g R2.
Now the application gets intermittent errors when accessing the database like the one below:
    "Unable to create file buffer"
I looked this up on other forums and it seems to be a problem with the ODBC driver creating uniquely names temp files
in the system temp folder. This was a documented problem some years ago and was fixed but now seems to have
reared its ugly head for Server 2008.
I'm not sure who the culprit is: 2008 32-bit or the 11g drivers.
I just know that some of our transactions fail because ODBC has problems and this is killing us.
As you see we are still running on a 32 bit OS and have created the ODBC DSNs using odbcad32.exe.
The application connects to the DB and works MOST OF THE TIME but random transactions now fail because of this error.
If I try to kill all of the *.tmp files from the windows temp directory it seems to solve the problem for a while but then the problem comes back rather quickly.
Any help here would be apprciated.

This may solve the issue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/130719
Don't just delete the offending file...it will be recreated eventually. Post a dummy file to prevent the error from reoccurring.
My only question is why you put more info on database and ODBC versions here and not in your SR? I'll note this in your SR for ya ;)

  • Odbc error message customization

    Hi,
I need to customize the message that Answers shows when an ODBC error happens. I saw in OracleBI\web\msgdb\l_en\messages\odbcaccessmessages.xml the error kmsgOdbcAccessOdbcException:
    <WebMessage name="kmsgOdbcAccessOdbcException"><TEXT>Odbc driver returned an error (<sawm:param insert="1"/>).</TEXT></WebMessage>
I can change the message for all the Odbc errors, but is there a way to change it depending on the error that happens (for example, when error nQSError: 10058, it must give a different message)? (depending on the parameter). Where is this message called from? Where is the param set to a value?
    Thank you

I am getting the error message "The ODBC data source returned the following error; (internal error:data not found)" when I try to import photos.
I can view the photos (and tags) I have moved, but cannot add to that collection.
I have seen in these forums (below)solution is to Remove Windows XP service pack 2, and re-install it. BUT I think I can only remove Serice Pack 3 from my version of Windows.
Will the fix work by removing and re-installing SP3? Or is there a better fix? HELP!
I am really keen to get a FIX for this as my wife needs access to the photos for her artwork.
I have just moved about 10,000 pictures (in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter edition) from an old PC (failing hard drive) to a new one.

Please try reinstalling the Service Pack 2 according to the instructions in this Adobe techdoc:

The document is written for PSElements 3, but we have reason to believe it also applies to PSAlbum (SE).

  • Axl Api: ODBC Error

I’m having trouble with Axl Api…
I’m using getMGCP to get the configuration of the MGCP Gateways in the system. It works fine, but I have to know the name of the Gateways…I would like to get the list of all the name of the MGCP gateways in the system so I can call getMGCP for all the Gateways.
It seems to me that listDeviceByNameAndClass could provide me this information. I successfully used it with the phone class, but when I pass Gateway to it I get an ODBC error response.
    So my questions are:
Why do I get this error?
If I cannot use listDeviceByNameAndClass to list the MGCP Gateway names, how may I do it?

You can use the listDeviceByNameAndClass to get the name, you just have to split the name at the @ symbol to get the proper domainName to use. Watch out though, the GetMGCP or MGCP calls in general have problems, sometimes the server doesnt properly encode the soap response (some units and subunits can contain ., /, ) or other special characters) and this destroys the generated soap response between the cisco server and your application... I'm running into this now. (Which is why the executeSQLQuery doesnt work and I have to use the AXL getmgcp.

Looks to me like you are trying to fire a navigation plug within WDDOMODIFYVIEW. According to the rules of the WD Phase Model this is not allowed.

Use Tony's suggestion. I am running it right now and it is awesome. I love Mozilla but they basically screwed all of those older Macs over. Come on Mozilla. These Macs still work, and there are plenty of people with them out there.

  • Powerpivot Report 2010 - OLE DB or ODBC error: Query timeout expired; HYT00

    0
I have report already developed by someone in powerpivot 2010 and deployed to sharepoint in powerpivot gallery library. The data source for this report is SQL Server 2008 r2. I have set the refresh options in sharepoint to run after business hours during
week end. When I check the refresh history it shows this error message "OLE DB or ODBC error: Query timeout expired; HYT00. An error occurred while processing the 'xxx' table. The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the
    transaction failed..
I have tried to run the "Also refresh as soon as possible " just to check but same error message is shown.
This is the detailed error message details:
    03/02/2014 21:06:55 03/02/2014 22:08:15 01:01:20 Failed
OLE DB or ODBC error: Query timeout expired; HYT00. An error occurred while processing the 'xxx' table. The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed
Could anyone guide me on this issue? Truly appreciate your help in advance.

    Hi asritha,
I would suggest you take a look at the following articles regarding how to configure PowerPivot data refresh in SharePoint Server:
Configure and Use Stored Credentials for PowerPivot Data Refresh:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210671(v=sql.105).aspx
Configure and Use the PowerPivot Unattended Data Refresh Account:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff773327(v=sql.105).aspx
Note: Please ensure that the account have sufficient permission access to your data source.
In addition, please elaborate your PowerPivot data soure with more detail. If you are using SSAS cube, please try to increase "ExternalConnectionTimeout" property default value to see if this helps. Here is the similar thread for your reference,

    Hi Sarang,
It seems you are following the two basic pre-req.
It may be now possible that your browser might be not allowing cookies. Which browser are u using? Version etc?
Right now u can try two things:
    1) When you have logged into portal, type the following command in the adress bar "javascript:alert(document.cookie)". This will give u a popup displaying the cookies formed when logged into portal
    2) Use some software like HTTPWatch or ieHeaders and find out the details. It will give you all the cookie details etc.
You should be able to see the JSESSIONID, MYSAPSSO2 cookies...Let me know the result of above..
    Regards
    Gaurav
