    Hi Manuel Dias,
I believe those information would be easily found out through SQL Server 2005 references or guides.  There may not have any special needs for B1 database.

  • Siebel Database Configuration Wizard closes automatically

    hi all,
Siebel Database Configuration Wizard closes automatically at step when asked if the GRANTUSR.SQL script was alredy run. Before running the Wizard I already installed the Siebel Enterprise, Siebel Gateway, Siebel Server, SWSE Logical Profile and configurated them. The Siebel Database is available, tablespaces were created and I run the grantusr.sql and everything was OK.
I chose the option 'already run the grantusr.sql'. By doing this the Wizard closes automatically. No idea what's going on here.
Can anybody please help me? I've been sitting for hours trying to find out what happens.

I don't think, that that is the cause of my problem. Even when I started the Siebel gateway, the database configuration wizard doesn't work appropriately.
Sievel server and Oracle Database are in the same machine (a Windows XP Professional, 32-bit-virtual machine). I haven't installed the Oracle 10g Enterprise edition. Should I install the Oracle client as well?.
In my case the ODBC connection, the DSN Name is Enterprise Name_DSN: Siebel_test_DSN and points to the Driver: Oracle in OraDb10g_home3. The connection works for siebel/siebel, sadmin/sadmin, but not for sys/mypassword (sorry I am not a Database crack).
I also tested the connection with the odbcsql as in your email indicated. The connection works when trying with siebel/siebel and sadmin/sadmin (user/password).

  • Siebel database Configuration wizard unable to identify index tablespace

    Hi,
I'm installing Siebel CRM 8.1.1 on AIX platform. We have RAC enabled database at backend and in that two tablespace has been created, one for data and another one for index. Now in the database configuration wizrd where we have to provide the name of both tablespaces; we provide the name of data tablespae in the Table Tablespace filed and index tablespace in the index tablespace filed of the configuration wizard. Now when we click on the next button. The configuration wizrd gives error of unable to identify index tablespace.
Why is this happening as index tablespace is properly created in the database. Please help me in this. You quick respance will be highly appriciated.
    Regards,
    Abbasi

I thought it might be. grantuser.sql generally needs to be modified to suit the underlying database configuration. Glad you got it working.

  • Siebel Database disk failure

    Dear Members,
We have a major disk failure on our development environment's data base server.
It seems to be, the data base has got corrupted. But our Siebel server is installed on a different machine. I have the backup of the repository .dat file with me.
We do not have the full backup of this DB server as this is a DEV environment. In our Client's Organization, as per policy no DEV environment are included in backup process.
Once our DBA re-install the DB. What all the steps we need to follow to make the environment as earlier.
As per my knowledge, I am planning to do the following things.
    1) Create the SBL_DATA and SBL_INDX table spaces.
    2) Execute grantusr.sql script.
So after these things, what I need to do.
    Please suggest.
    Regards
    Vamshi

    Hi Vamshi,
This is a very serious issue and probably you may try the following approach:
    1. Install the Siebel Database and select new database.
    2. Once installed add a developer user on the database and execute the grantusr.sql
    3. In the database execute an update statement and update all the Object Locked columns and Object Locked By columns with value as 'Y' and developers' row_id respectively.
    4. In the Developer's Local DBF file lock all the projects and tell him to do a check-in.
I am not sure whether the above will work well for you as I have tried this only once and that too in a proto environment. Also the developer should be having a reasonably recent DBF.
Please update if this approach works for you.

  • ODBC Error while Siebel Server try to connect to Oracle 10G

We have managed to get through with the configuration of siebel server on HP Unix. However before we get to the Database configuration, we are encountering errors with ODBC connection to oracle 10g database. We are able to connect to oracle using sql plus but odbc connection is failing. We verified for patches, missing files, directory access rights - but no clue as of now.

This has become a show stopped for us and we are strugging with this for the past three days without much direction.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I guess your DataDirect Driver which gets registered during Database Configuration has some problems.
Can you check whether the DSN is using the proper Driver?
Also, the username through which you are logging in to start Siebel Services must have proper rights.
Many times on Windows platform i have noticied this error in ODBC due to improper user rights. If the rights are not proper, the DataDirect Driver fails to get loaded & throws similar error.

  • Database Configuration problem

I am brand new to Crystal (1 week) so bear with me please.
I have created a crystal report from an access database. Although this access database doesn't have any security itself one of its tables is linked to a SQL server through ODBC. When i create a report in Crystal using the Access database it works great. When i publish this report to the server it wants some type of login information.
Under Database configuration (CMC) for the report i seem to have two options.
1)Use original database logon information from the report.
Server = Location of my access database
        Database = ""
        User: ?
        PW:?
    or
    2) Use custom database logon information specified here.
         Select a database driver
Server: ? Is this the SQL server or the server where my access database is contained?
         Database: ? same question
User: ? Is this the sql user?
I have tried both can't get it to work. What login information does it want? Does it want the sql login information? What am i missing? Any help would be great. I know this is a lot of questinons but i am stumped.
    thanks

    Hi Jesse,
Because your .mdb file doesn't require a password, I would check if Page server can access to .mdb file first. When viewed from Enterprise, Page Server needs to be able to access to .mdb file. Where is .mdb file located? If it is on the network share, Page Server service needs to run under the user account which has access to the share. By default it is running under System Account.
Test the report in Crystal Reports on the server(not from a client machine). If you can refresh it successfully, check what user account is logged on the server, then use the user account for Page serer service. Restart Page Server and test the report from Enterprise.

    Hi Naveen,
We would like to migrate our Siebel database from Sql Server 2005 to Oracle 11g RAC. Can you suggest the best way to do that ?You will need much more which suggestions.
You will need a Siebel professional which has done this type of migration. Migrating the Database is not a task so hard, after migrating your environment should be functional and healthy it is usually the task problematic.
The hardware can be changed if needed. Can you please suggest the best approach ?We can recommend the minimum recommended, but this documentation already does, you need to do a analysis on your environment and ask a vendor Siebel tell the which is recommended for you and how to find the best "number" for you, in your case is very hard because everything changes.

  • JReport Database configuration

I just downloaded an evalution version for the JReport in order to know and experience the features its provided. however, im encountering the db connection problem so just stuck here. would like to seek help from you all.
As for your info, i've installed JDBC Ms.SQL Server 2000, I am having the problem in setting up JDBC driver and do not know how to edit the %installroot%JReport\bin\JReport.bat to append the achieve file of the driver to the classpath.
    Anyone can advice?
    Thanks,
    Veasna

I went with the Tomcat install for the server.  Our reports all work fine in the client.  The databases that we are using are Oracle and Foxpro...I have an ODBC for the Foxpro and Oracle client and ODBC for those databases as well.  When I put in my paramters I get Error in File Donor Activity: The table could not be found.  The ODBC on the server matches my computer.  The report DOES prompt me for the paramters and I can input them, but the I hit OK and it gives me the error.  I am using original database login with no data in the username or password field (database configuration).  Any ideas...I am totally stumped have been working on this for days...

  • Install failing when running Database Configuration Assistant

I am trying to install Oracle 9i on a new Solaris 9 box. Everything goes fine until oui tries to run the Database Configuration Assistant. It is at the "Creating and starting Oracle Instance" stage that I get a popup which says:
    ORA-27302: failure occured at: skgpwreset1
ORA-27303: additional information: invalid shared ctx
    ORA-27146: post/wait initialization failed with
    status:28
ORA-27301: OS failure message: No space left on device
    ORA-27302: failure occured at: sskgpcreates
I don't understand the "No space left on device" as I have ~30 GB available. I am hoping it is a result of the invalid shared ctx above it. Other than this, the installation completes without any errors.
I have been banging my head against this for over a week! Does anyone have any suggestions. I am sorry I waited so long to post the question, but I could use some assistance urgently.
    TIA,
    Steve

    Solution:
For Solaris 9 the (recommended) /etc/system parameters look like this:
    set semsys:seminfo_semmni= 100
    set semsys:seminfo_semmns= 1024
    set semsys:seminfo_semmsl= 256
    set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=4294967295
    set shmsys:shminfo_shmmni=100
The other parameters are not needed in this Solaris version.
    I hope this is useful.

For the timeout error, the most likely problem is that Access is putting a timeout on the call, and requesting that the driver cancel the query if it takes too long. Ideally, you'd be able to adjust the timeout parameter in Access, but I'm not aware of a way to do that. You can disable query timeout at the DSN level, though, there's a checkbox in the configuration screen for the DSN. This will disable query timeout for every application that uses the DSN, though.
For the table not found error, that's indicating that there's no table named MSysConf in whatever schema you're connected to.
