The Import Word Document Wizard cannot locate a supported version of Microsoft Word

Hello guys,
I'm currently evaluating RoboHelp HTML 8.0.2.208. I'd like to import an existing Word document to a fresh new RoboHelp project. Unfortunately, everytime I've got the message below:
"The Import Word Document Wizard cannot locate a supported version of Microsoft Word"
"Please install Microsoft Word 2000 or newer."
I tried with several Word 2003 and Word 2010 documents but with no success.
Could someone help me?

I think it would probably be safe to assume that the next version will support Office 2010. I think logic alone can tell us that much.
The larger question would be to ask when that next version is likely to appear. And my own purely unscientific speculation will be to hold the envelope to my head like the great Johnny Carson did. I proclaim we will see a new version appear some time in 2011. As to whether that will be early or late 2011, only Adobe can actually say for certain. Or even if a version will appear during that year!

Report for material documents with storage location

JS InDesign CS4: save document into specific location on a network

I been able to save my document with new name, but I am not sure how to specify new network location for it. Here what I have:

(Aside: me not a John, me a Theun. [JW] is just a convenient handle.)
"/SPACE"+yourfilename is not a fully qualified path name. For one, with a 'yourfilename' of "foo", it will result into a full string
/SPACEfoo
and this can be taken apart in a path "/" (the root of your current drive) and a filename "SPACEfoo". You need another slash after "SPACE".
Second, you should investigate what a full path looks like. I seriously doubt "/SPACE/" is a valid path on your machine. Use the one line script I showed to check what it looks like for a saved ID document.
A small trick you might want to use is, pressing Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C, on Apples) with a dialog on screen copies the entire text of that dialog. That's how I copied the full path and file name into my previous mail -- I didn't type it in manually.
[EDIT] Sorry, I did not include that one line script. It simply is
alert (app.activeDocument.fullName);

Attach a PDF document to Device Location

Hi all,
We have a requirement to attach a PDF document to a Device Location. Ideally we are looking for an approch to upload a PDF document which would contain some instructions for the Business Users. This would help the user to check the PDF document and perform Activties according to the instructions.
Could you please guide through, if SAP allows for such an option to upload PDF file or any document to a Technical Object.
It would be appreciated if you suggest few examples as well.

One quick question, services for object works find for Technical Master Data but for some reason its not working on Business Partner. The options in it ate grayed out. Any Idea ?
Also, Services for object is not available for another user. Is it realted to any profile settings or will be in default to all users ?

How to document for storage location summary

Dear All,
I am using this how to document and applying it to my scenario. Has anybody implemented this how to document?
My question was supposed I have some additional key figures in the report, say apart from ValStockValue and Total Stock, I have stock in QA, stock blocked, value of stock in QA, value of stock blocked.
What changes do I make changes to the source code of the FM module mentioned in the How to document..
Any inputs please!

Preview on Lion: open document on start / location signature

One annoying change in Preview coming along with Lion is that whenever I start Preview the most recently opened document is automatically opened, and I can't find any option to turn off this behaviour!
On the other hand, now being able to sign (ie. not electronically/digitally as in a PKI environment) a PDF is really cool!
Any ideas where the scanned signature are being stored, as I'd like to use the ones I've created some time ago.

System Preferences > General > Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps.
Ridiculous 'feature'.

Using Document Sets when I add Default PDF the save location is wrong.

Using Document sets you can add "Default Documents" to load when you use this function. The file are stored in a separate document library, template location.
Once the user uses the function the file deploy and show in the right folder. The problem is when someone edits a PDF form from the folder and then tries to save, the default save location is back to the template location. I've lock
the document but it a pain for the user to have to thumb their way back to the right place to save.
Is this just a Adobe vs Microsoft fight?

Windows 8 cannot locate scanned document

hi folks
have a HP Photosmart C7100 series 2 device
after scanning a document, I cannot locate it eg should be in C:\users\wayne\documents\My Scans\scan0001.pdf but all I get is note that Windows cannot locate it and I need to spell it correctly!
what do I need to do please to open it on my PC

Are you scanning from the HP Solution Center application? If yes, you can adjust the settings to specifiy the location where the scans are saved.
Follow the steps below:
1. Load the document you want to scan on the scanner glass.
2. Open the Solution Center application.
3. Choose 'Scan Document'.
4. Select the option 'Document to File' or 'Document to File (PDF)'
5. Click on Advanced Document Settings option and then click on 'Save to file save options'.
6. Specifiy the location to send the saved scans on the computer.
7. If you see the option to enable 'Edit the file name of the saved scan', select it.
8. You may also have an option to specify 'how the HP software completes the scan action'. Select 'Launches file explorer'. This will open the folder location where the scan is saved.

Remember size and location when opening saved document (CS5)

It would be nice to have a preference to remember screen rendered document size and location when saved, then the document opens at the last used size and location; I now reposition and resize every time I open my documents, which is often.
Perhaps this feature has not been forgotten or omitted, maybe I just haven't found it yet?

Yeah, you said it... Which means that 100 times a day I curse Adobe for not including such a basic, fundamental capability.
It's hard to believe that they do any testing by real users at all... How could they have missed this? And why haven't they immediately fixed it in a point update?

Document opens to random location

My friend and I are both using CS4 on Macs, we each ran Leopard and upgraded to Snow Leopard, but he has always had a problem with InDesign opening documents to random locations, rather than the last saved location. I've never had a problem with that... InDesign always opens to the place where I last saved. He's had this problem in both Leopard and Snow Leopard. Any ideas?

My part of the project involves editing 3 separate files that will later be joined in a single multi-paned document. These 3 are being edited against a preexisting 4th, which has the content of an earlier version. The 3 primary files are edited constantly. The 4th is only edited when an error is noticed (i.e., I sometimes stumble upon errors in the earlier version, in the process of referencing it to create the new version; when I do, I fix them).
I am almost positive that I leave the cursor at the last known position of editing when each document is saved and ID is closed for the day. This is something we can easily verify with two people looking. For additional testing, I will try to start making a minor change/change-back at the end of my work for the day, so that the cursor can be clearly seen at the last save point for each file. I will document this process, making a note of the exact cursor position at the final save and close point. Then I will document exactly where the cursor appears for each file when opening for the next day's work.
Can you think of anything else I should track should this turn out to be a bug? (I usually have at least 8 apps and a couple of backup processes running all the time.)

Yes, if you were making them but not saving them as .dcst files in any specific folder, then when you reset or replaced preferences you did lose them.
