A message recently appearred on my iphone in the text box (ie the one you write in to send a text) I did not write this message and no one else had access to my phone , so has anyone any ideas how it got there ? I have and I phone 4gs and the message appeared in the box of the last person i was texting please help I am baffled

If your partner has an iOS device and uses your AppleID to log in to iMessage, then you are sharing the same iMessage account.
Just have your partner get a different AppleID and have them use that one for their iMessaging - log out of iMessage with the old AppleID and log back in with the new one.

Odd message on startup

I have had no kernel panics or unexpected shutdowns of my computer. Whenever I start the computer normally and enter my password, I get the following popup:
The only problem is, there was no odd shut down nor did I ever shut it down because of a problem. No matter which button I click, the issue persists.
I have seen questions similar to this one, but none of them address this specific issue or this specific circumstance. The computer runs normally and this popup seems to cause no issues or problems. It is just rather anoying than anything else. Does anyone know how to make this popup disapear?

Odd message when trying to save to alias of Pictures folder

Hi. Maybe someone can help me. When I try to save an image to an alias of my Pictures folder that is located on the desktop, the image *does* get saved to a folder *within* the Pictures folder called Original Images. Then I get an error message reading "File alias [path to alias] [name of picture file] wasn't found." I click OK on this dialog box and it reappears seven or eight times. Note that this occurs *both* when I save to the Pictures folder itself as well as when I save to its alias. I deleted the alias and made a new one, again placing it on the desktop, yet the problem persists. This usually happens when I come across a picture file on the Web that I wish to save.
I am running Mac OS 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro with 4 GB of RAM. I've recently repaired the file permissions. This behavior started a few days ago. The Web browser I use is Firefox version 15.
I'm just really puzzled about why all of a sudden these new, saved images are now automatically being placed in this subfolder called "Original Images." And the error messages are disconcerting. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, everyone, but I fixed the problem. I had accidentally turned on an Applescript to keep the Pictures folder organized.

Odd message when i try to sync music

hi all,
i get this message when i try to sync music to my blackberry storm:
The blackberry media sync failed to initialize. Please run the BDM with admin priviliges and try again?
dont know wot this means and so far iv tried all things suggested in other forums so i hope someone here can help please?

you need to run Desktop Manager with administrator privileges.
If you cannot do that, you can install the Roxio Media Manager standalone.

System Preferences Bluetooth WONT OPEN/ ODD MESSAGE.

Hi,
I just purchased a new wireless keyboard for my iBook G4. When I go into system preferences and click "Keyboard & Mouse" a message appears that says, " Preferences Error- Could not load Keyboard & Mouse." So I tried to then go into bluetooth and got the same message. Any thoughts?

That means there was never a Bluetooth Module ever installed.
What you can do is get a D-Link Bluetooth Adapter. http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=34
Also available at Amazon. Very inexpensive and uses a USB port. I have been using one on my iBookG4 for years.

Odd message when trying to install 10.7

Unable to install 10.7 though I get the message that my HD is the drive used for TM-backups

Please clarify...
Are you trying to install Lion on the external drive that also has Time Machine backup or is the drive empty?
If it has Time Machine backups on the drive, you would need to partition the drive.
BTW, have you considered installing Mavericks rather than Lion?

Odd Messages While Repairing Permissions

Had that annoying spinning beach ball today, so I used software update and then repaired permissions after. Never had a message like this before in all my mac years:
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/OwnerGroupTool" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Warning: SUID file "usr/bin/lppaswd" has been modified and will not be repaired.
No other permissions were repaired.
Um . . . HUH? I have two firewalls on this thing and have to approve even outgoing print jobs manually. I'd be surprised if I had anyone get n here, but anything is possible. I sync to mobileme and my iphone and ipod video. Have a wireless keyboard and mouse, but no other bluetooth devices. My wireless network is hidden and secured with a password. . .
I'm the only user, the computer is only a few weeks old.
Should I be worried? Should I be deleting something? Would love some thoughts and opinions!

itunes is playing away fine, however when I try to connect mini I get this message (after long, long delay);
UPDATER 2006-01-10 (with two options to restore/update).
Pick either option and I get;
INVALID IPOD SERVICE VERSION
Any clues how I restore my little pink chum and lose the annoying message ?

Odd message about missing file when opening Logic

Hi there
I've just done a fresh de novo install of Logic Studio 8 on my imac. When I open Logic Pro and select a new guitar tones project, before it opens I get a message in a new browser
"please locate missing 2.8sSpring_reverb.sdir" and at the bottom of the browser "audio file selected".
I don't know where this file is, if I click cancel I get a similar one for a plate reverb and then it opens.
Is there a way to rectify this? OSX 10.4.11 and a full install of all of Logic Studio plus main updates.

Odd message when copyying to another disk

I'm trying to copy from one FW drive to another. I tried moving some .mov files but something screwed up, now they're grayed out and when I try to trash them I get the message file in use by another application, but no other application is open. Now when trying to copy another clip it stops copying. Hmm. Any ideas?

Or even just logging out and back in (basiclly restart the finder).

I don't get it. I use <servlet-name> three times in web.xml: twice in

From my understanding this is not what you should do. The Welcome page is used when no specific page of the application is given in the url. It can either be a jspx page or a html page. A task flow may contain a page, but is not a page. From this definition I conclude that you should not do this.
One other reason is that is you use security you secure a task flow (as a whole resource) and the welcome page is the entry point giving the use the ability to log in (so it is not secured). The welcome page might also be the landing page after a logout.

Odd message when attempting to open iTunes

After installing the latest iTunes I attempting to open it so I could import some music. I got a message saying
"Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires Quicktime version 7.0.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes."
So I redownloaded the install file and ran it for a repair check but I got the same message. I tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it with the latest .exe file off of the website but I continue to get the same message. What do I need to do?

Odd messages when creating text object (se75)

I am trying to create a text object and text id's for an application. I go to se75 to do this and make a text object called ZABC and upon save I get an informational message saying the following:
Observe name ranges: Y,Z for customers, J_NC for partners, A..X for SAP
When I click the green checkbox, it pops up another box saying the object is not within the valid name range. Save anyway?
I tried creating one with Z_ABC and that came up with the same thing. What am I doing wrong here?

Odd message about iTiunes during Permissions Repair...

I have recently installed iTunes 5.
Repairing permissions after a kernel panic, I saw the following message:
"Started verify/repair permissions on disk disk0s3 Macintosh HD
Determining correct file permissions.
: object: ./Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes malformed object (inconsistant sizeofcmds field in mach header)"
(the misspelling of "inconsistent" is Apple's, not mine)
Has anyone seen this? what could it mean?
EDIT: This message appears every time I repair permissions.
