Odd screen glitch
I have noticed that every once in a while when I pull my phone out of my pocket I see the main Slide screen, but it appears without the backlight. I can fix it with just locking sleeping it and reopening it again. Its just weird. Has anyone else experienced this?
It has been reported here. Typical threads:

computer felt hot and while running apple hardware test the screen glitches covered the screen and it froze. Now computer wont boot up. Again AHT code is 4MOT/2/40000004:ADD and I have just seen ODD and HDD codes discussed on other threads. Those were hardrive or superdrive fans, so I am guessing this is a fan issue and then it fried by graphics card. Any help as to whether this is game over or worth repairing would be very appreciated.
You need to take it to your local Apple Store or AASP for a professional evaluation. Apple does not publish the codes from AHT, you can Google the code you got and see if you can determine what it means however the best method is to let a pro handle it.

Why does my iPhone screen glitch up?
My iPhone at times does this random thing where the screen glitches. My screen ends up looking a bit like the crystal have burnt with weird multi-coloured vertical lines all over my screen, making the iPhone unusable for 5 mins before returning to its normal self. Sometimes it fades out onto a black screen and every time this occurs, I have to reset my iPhone and it's back to normal.
I'm unsure if it's coincidental, but many times this happens, I have either lost service or wifi/both. Also this tends to happen when I'm low on battery, just charging my phone or have just finished charging. This usually happens once a day or every 2-3 days sometimes.
I've tried restoring my phone and all but it doesn't seem to have done anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this or know what is happening?I forgot to mention. Usually after the glitch and when my iPhone returns to normal, the apps on the bottom row of the page (on all pages) all go to the next page e.g. if you have 3 full pages of apps pre glitch, after this glitch you will have 6, 3 containg 4 rows of apps and another 3 pages containg 1 row. I don't know if this gives an indication to the root of the problem.

'09 MBP with some odd screen anomalies
My MBP has some odd screen anomalies. They appear as small blotches of greyness and can only be seen clearly on a white background and when the backlight is bright. When viewed from a viewing angle almost parallel with the screen, one can clearly see the overall shape. They exist in an almost perfectly round ring around the center of the display with an average diameter of about 2.5 inches. The greyness is thickest on the top half of the ring. There is a distinct spot about half an inch above center and the lower semicircle is filled with random grey dots. It looks like, of all things, the Death Star if looked at straight on, or as if someone used the screen as a cupholder.
It doesn't look like image persistence or dead pixles. The anomaly does not move around or change colors, nor does it appear to get any better or worse with time.
I have no idea where it came from or why...
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
/Tychodo a pram reset http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379 and then try verifying your icc color profiles with colorsync utility (verify and repair) found in your utlities folder in the applications folder.
This sounds hardware related though and you should take it in to an apple specialist. sounds like a ball hit it or someone punched it and the LCD is broken. can you still see it when you turn the screen/computer off?) -
Macbook Core 2 Duo screen glitch/flickering??
My late 2009 macbook has a bad screen glitching issue anytime you move the screen. Sometimes I even have to hold my screen in a certain place for it stop from glitching so i can use my computer.
If I took my computer to the apple store for a repair.. how much do you think it would cost?If your capable of doing your own repair you can replace the inverter board using the step by step directions here

13" MBP Screen glitches and computer freezes when I hold it wrong...
Sorry for the newbie question. I just got my MBP and ordered the Kingston 8gb deal on buy.com last week. After install I noticed if I pick up the computer and hold it on the right hand side almost underneath the option button, the screen glitches and turns into a bunch of colored lines then crashes. I have to hold the power button down to shut it off then restart. I kind of feel a little bit of give at that area...is that a known issue or does it have anything to do with the new 3rd party ram? Please help!
Hi c,

When using safari 6.0 full screen mode in ML, if i press "open link in a new window" for any links, it makes screen glitch. Any solution?
What fonts did you install?
Fonts known to cause problems:
Helvetica Fractions, Times Phonetic and Alien.
If you have them, delete them!

Iphone5 screen glitch after update to iOS 8.1.1
my iphone screen glitch after updating to iOS 8.1.1.
You need to be patient. There is no need to post again within minutes of the first post. Try force closing the App Store app and then reset the iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
After upgrading to Leopard 10.5.5 I've been experiencing MANY issues which I think are related to how 10.5.5 works with my video card (see below for system details):
If I shut my computer down it takes about 20 tries before it will boot completely without video glitches and freezing
Each time I start the computer it gets a little farther in the boot process before freezing
I have tried starting in Safe Mode but the computer never gets past the Apple logo and spinning wheel
I have tried Zapping the PRAM and this seems to help get a little farther in the startup process but doesn't do much else
All applications will freeze up randomly, giving me either a glitchy screen, spinning color wheel or both
If I ALTCMDESC during a application freeze, the Force Quit screen appears and the frozen program will work okay again (without me having to quit it)
Sometimes the computer will freeze and the screens will completely and flash different colors. This requires me to hold down the power button until shutdown
Repairing disk permissions gives the same error after every time I startup. As if every time I shut the computer down some disk permissions get messed up.
I have uploaded images of the screen glitches I have been getting as well as a text document with my Disk Permission Repair Report here

If anyone has experienced problems similar to these and has any suggestions on how to fix it without rolling back to 10.5.4 please share.
Thanks

Message was edited by: DarkForestFilmsScreen glitches and system crashes that still persist even while booted from the Install Disk points very strongly toward a hardware problem, even if AHT can't find it. Things to consider:
AHT asks that you disconnect non-essential pheriphals to run the test, & it doesn't test them. But you can just by removing them temporarily. (Note the the installer disk will boot the system even if no hard drive is installed.) Extend this to everything that can be removed without making the Mac Pro non-functional, including anything non-essential in its PCI slots.
Even though third party RAM is more suspect than Apple-supplied RAM, the latter can go bad as well. Try every combination of the minimum number of modules needed to run the OS on your Mac Pro to see what happens. You can also try extended RAM testing with Rember. You may also find the "Press" links at the Rember web site useful for more info about this, for example Troubleshooting Tools: Memtest and Remberfrom MacFixIt.
Physical inspection of the hardware sometimes also helps: are all cables & connectors (both internal & external) tight & in good condition? All covers in place & properly oriented? Any foreign objects lodged anywhere in the case, especially small bits of metal or other conductive substances? Mac Pro's are very cleanly designed inside as well as out, but it is still possible that the problem is caused by something like this. -
Screen glitch on macbook pro when opening
When I open my Macbook Pro after it has been closed for a while the screen glitches. It happens for a few seconds and then goes back to normal.
I couldn't get a screenshot of it but it looks kind of like this (except filling the whole screen and slightly less dense):
I'm interested in how to fix it but more interested in making sure it isn't going to lead to greater problems. I can honestly live with it if I have to but I want to make sure it won't get worse.Just select Print in Safari and then, in the bottom left-hand corner, select PDF and you can save it to whichever flavor pdf file you like.

Screen glitches and macbook pro crashes
I have a 2012 15" MacBook Pro running Lion. Sometimes the screen glitches out, gray lines appear on it then my computer freezes and must be restarted sometimes it will beep 3 times when restarting and other times it won't. It happens mostly when I open programs like iMovie, Photoshop, VMware Fusion, and one time, Spotify. Is this a virus, software issue, etc? An error message usually appears after being restarted. It does it all the time please help.
It asked if I want to report the error to apple. I did and I coppied the report.

It sounds like a hardware problem, but you can try resetting the SMC and PRAM:
SMC

PRAM

On the SMC reset, use the option for a battery you should not remove yourself. -
Hello,
My iMac is displaying an odd screen rendering error that I so far have not been able to resolve. There is a black line that runs over 2" along the bottom right corner of the display. It does not appear when on the grey Mac boot screen, but shows up after log in. I tried to take a screenshot using CMD+OPTION+4 and the line does not show up. If you look closely at the picture attached you will see that the mouse cursor renders over the line.
I have all the latest updates installed. This iMac is also out of the AppleCare Warranty period.
Any recommendations on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated. I work in IT, so don't hold back on the technicalities.
Thanks,
KenAs others have said, this feature is called "screen zoom". Hold down the control key and scroll up or down on your mouse to zoom in or out. Right now you are zoomed in. This also works on the trackpad.
If you don't want that feature enabled you can go to system preferences>mouse and uncheck "screen zoom" there. -
I have a MacBook Pro running mavericks. Sometimes the screen glitches out, gray lines appear on it then my computer freezes and must be restarted sometimes it will beep 3 times when restarting and other times it won't. Is this a virus, software issue, water damage, etc? An error message usually appears after being restarted. It does it all the time please help.
No Virus. You have a Hardware Problem. 3 Beeps means a RAM problem. You could try Reseating the RAM is its sockets.
But that wouldn't necessarily cause the screen to Glitch Out, as you say. -
Odd screen corruption only with admin account?
I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm having an odd screen corruption issue on my Mac Pro 2.0. As the cursor passes the mid point of my midpoint of the screen, the screen will "jump" or "shift" and add a row or column of pixels to the monitor. Any text or graphics around the these newly created rows will become corrupt or appear doubled. Also the cursor will behave very oddly. When rolling over a text field in an application sometimes the arrow won't convert to the text entry icon, the entry icon will appear superimposed on the arrow icon.
At first i thought it was a hardware issue (video card going bad ) but Hardware Test came back clean. As a last resort I created a new user and voila! the corruption goes away when logged in under the new user! I'm assuming there is a corrupted file somewhere associated with the admin user account. Obviously I can't delete the user as it's the owner/admin account. Any place I can start looking where the offending file might be found?
MarkHmm, I've got screen zoom turned off so I don't think that's it. Now some of my icons are coming up corrupted, but again, only when I'm logged into my admin acct. Is there a preference file that in the user/~/library/preferences file that i could toss and see if it helps? I could always just toss the whole preference files folder after backing up and then try replacing them one at a time but I'd rather not do that if I have a choice.

Problems with Closed Captioning (subtitles)
The last upgrade of the STB software fixed many of the problems with closed captioning. However, there are still a number of problems. For those of us with hearing impairment, it would really be nice if they got it right. Now, at least all of the
