ODDC - Importing PDF documents

I need to get ODDC to be able to import PDF documents.
Has anyone had any success using VBScript, attached to the scan profile to do this?
I am currently trying to add code to the ecNet_ImportFilesSelected( Files, Cancel) method, to convert a pdf file into an image and replace the file name in the Files object. Unfortunately I am getting "Permission Denied" errors when trying to modify the Files object.
I would appreciate any suggestions or pointers.
Thanks

  • Can i import .pdf documents?

can i import .pdf documents to iPhone 4 (CDMA)?

The question is, can i import .pdf documents to iPhone 4.
Answer, Yes you can, it's called Dropbox.
Once you have downloaded Dropbox on your iPhone and on your Mac (one is an iPhone App, the other is a Mac Software), open an account it's free.
Look on the right hand side of your Desktop menu bar for a blue box icon, click on the icon and chose "open Dropbox folder", drop any pdf file into the Dropbox folder (lets say the Public folder) the document will Sync, once that is done it's now available on your iPhone, simply open Dropbox on your iPhone, located the folder, open the document and read it. For those who don't know, the iPhone 4 can read pdf file by default, no other software required.
PS : Another great App for the iPhone and Mac is Evernote, it has very powerful features.

  • Importing PDF document

    Hi,
I created a new form by importing an existing PDF document. All content in the PDF document has been converted to text objects. I need some of these to be editable. How can I convert text objects to text field objects.
I am new to this product and therefore appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I guess another way to ask this question is - How do I import a PDF document into Designer and make some parts of it editable?
    Thanks.

  • How to import PDF document to Pages

I am attempting to import a LaTex created PDF book into Pages so I can add and introduction, etc.. to the book and further refine some of the paging and print style.  This used to be possible in AppleWorks but seems to be missing in pages and now requires all editing to be done by purchasing full Adobe Acrobat which is extremely costly for a non corporate user.  I have also attempted to use several applications that purport to be able to edit PDF Doc direct but NONE of them, so far, retain the original paging information therefore rendering them USELESS for any practical use.
Does anyone know of a widget/etc that can be added to Pages that would open the document as a Pages document while retaining ALL paging information?

I would dearly like to be able to fix LaTex to output a Pages document but that is waaayayyayayay beyond my capabilities and I doubt the developers of LaTex would even want to try so that is totally out of the question.  The next possibility would be to develop some kind of macro script that would do the same thing but again that is beyond my capabilities.
I just check DataViz and they show an old MacLinks that seems to be able to convert PDF to CWK (WP) file.  I also remember one from my OLD Apple IIGS (1992) days that had the same capability but that could not be proted to the Mac and I used it quite a lot somewhat later after I started genealogical research for downloading page files.
Thanks to all who answered and we may as well call this one unsolvable.

  • HT4059 I saved approx. 50 important PDF-Documents in ibooks-App. Now all of them are disappeared!

I did the last update at 7th of Nov. 2013 before I update my Ipad Mini to IOS 7 (V7.0.3) from IOS 6.
After the update all my PDF-doucments were available in ibooks-App.
Yesterday I would like to check one of the documents and the PDF-Folder in ibooks was empty.
    So what happens??
If I restore my IPAD Mini with the last backup (07.11.2013) and I open the ibooks-App again I can see all the doucments, but only for a few seconds.
After that, it looks like they will be deleted and again no objects available any more in the PDF-Folder!!!
Further I did the update to V7.0.4 but nothing changed. After restore - same result!
Could it be, that there's is a bug in IOS7?
If you have any idea please let me know.
The documents are really necessary for me.
    Thanks!

Are you backing the iPad up to to an OS X-based computer?  Knowing more about the systems involved will help troubleshoot.

  • When I open an imported PDF document that contains maths symbols ,those symbols are read incorrectly

In particular, there are systematic errors so that ,for example,  equals signs in the orignal become minus signs in my opened version and minus signs appear as blanks..
Here is an error message that I receive
'cannot extract the embedded font EFNJGD+AdvP4C4E46 Some characters may not display or print properly'
I am using Adobe X reader with recent updates, Windows 7, A new PC with Word,
Other UK users don't have the same problem when I forward the guilty PDF files to them
    Any help appreciated !

It could be the case that the particular font is not available on your system and is not embedded in the PDF either. Hence, some symbols specific to that font are not displayed in the PDF.
The font could be avilable on the other user's machine, which would be enabling them to see the PDF contents corectly.
Try and install the same font on your system and see if the problem is resolved.

  • Importing PDF into Indesign

Is it possible to import PDf documents into the current version of Adobe Indesign ? I am currently testing the software and was wondering if it would be possible to import around 50 of my already published PDF docs to work on it and redesign it with Indesign ?
    Thank you in advance.

Hi @plummerdesign and @MasterStudios - indeed, it is a crying shame our website does not work in IE and they are looking into this. Thank you. We do not have a demo for several reasons and can understand your point. We do have numerous forms of detailed video demsontrations on PDF to InDesign via PDF2DTP here and we have some awesome testiominals from graphic arts industry experts, Frank Romano, Michael Jahn, Joe Marin and more (click on the hyper links on their names to view what they say about PDF2DTP).
One of many customer quotes we have include this:
"Really pleased to have this product [PDF2DTP for InDesign].  The Beta version was really good and saved me loads of hassle with amends to pdfs."
    Graham Bell - http://www.absolutegraphics.co.uk
    Another quote is:
“We have a lot of PDFs from „Word“ ;-) Before PDF2DTP, we used PitStop for the corrections, now we can do it better! As a recent example, we had come in an advert in PDF for a meeting. The ad was in RGB, Fonts not included, the trim and bleed were not correct, etc. I open it with the PDF2DTP plugin and it works very nice. A little bit of touching-up work on the pictures and the colours, but not much… Thanks for the app!”
    Dirk Rosenplänter
    Blueprint Werbeagentur e.K.
Hopefully this helps you see how useful and yet still affordable PDF2DTP for InDesign is. It is truly a gem, especially when all you have left is the said PDF! Thank you for the feedback and we will strive to better that side of it, for sure.

  • Importing PDF fillable forms

    Hi all,
I am using RH7 and I am tryuing import pdf documents (some
are fillable forms) in to my Webhelp project. I have tried
    different options.
    1. Import as a PDF Document itself
which doesnt solve the issue as its either creating HTML or
    an image .
    2. Import as a Baggage file.
Drag and Drop the baggage file to create a link in the
    topic.
the second option is working but only when i preview it .
When I preview the topic and click on the link it does open in pdf.
But when I generate the webhelp and then click on the link " There
is no reaction - it just doesnt do anything. Nothing at all. "
So if anyone of you can give me some solution it will be
great . Thank in advance .

You can use form you create in Acrobat, with certain limitations. Have you tried it?

  • Import multiple records into a PDF document?

I'm not sure I'm using the correct terms, but let me spell out my problem.
I have a PDF document with several text forms named with the same names as columns in an Excel spreadsheet saved into txt format.
The forms are duplicated onto several pages so if there are five records in the spreadsheet, there are five pages in the PDF.
I am able to open the PDF and choose Import Form Data and point to the Excel txt file.
But in the Import Data from Delimited Text File dialog box, I am only able to choose one record at a time.
I was hoping to be able to import multiple records onto multiple pages. This way I could do a bulk printing of the spreadsheet data into the PDF. But doing one record at a time is cumbersome and won't work as we expand the project.
Any clues as to how to do this better?

    John,
I don't have the actual client's data as that is proprietary.
I do have two silly little test files that I put together, but I think you've answered my question.
I've already told the client to use Word (gasp) and Excel with a mail merge and then export to PDF or print directly.
Ironically this could have also been done with InDesign.
But as much as I had to recommend Word, it was nice that the client started out by wanting PDF.

  • How to import and make the content of the original PDF document editable and preserves the pdf appearance and retains existing fields and formatting in LiveCycle

Can someone tell me how I can see my content (artwork and text) after I import  it into LiveCycle Designer ES4?  I like to import and make the content of the original PDF document editable; preserves the pdf appearance and retains existing fields and formatting, then allow me to do the modifications and save it back into the original PDF document with changes. I have tried everything but still cannot see my content(artwork and Text) of my original PDF after importing it into LiveCycle. All I see are is a blank page with the formatting and layout of where my artwork and text should be. • Why can't I import the u3d file as a view onto my pdf document?

After searching the web I finally found the instructions on how to import a 3d view onto a PDF document using Acrobat 7 Pro.
I created the .u3d file and clicked on the TOOLS menu, then ADVANCE EDITING and then 3D Tool. I highlighted an area where I want the 3d view to be and the ADD 3D content window shows up. I then brouse to select my .U3D file and click the OK button. But nothing happens, why? Maybe I need to install more options? Does anyone know?

with what app did you create this file?

iM09 is no 'all purpose' editor, supports a very small range of codecs, and is meant for camcorder imports..
download the free converter tool *Mpeg Streamclip* www.squared5.com
convert your file to 'mpg4' , or AppleIntermediate, or h264, or motion jpeg..

How do I create a document with an imported PDF in 300dpi using a FOGRA27 colour profile?
I can import the PDF by creating a new document and finding the PDF in places, but it's bad quality.
The only colour profile I can find under View - Proof Setup is FOGRA39, but I need FOGRA27!
Help help help, I need to get these files printed in two days!
    Thanks so much..
    xx

Proof Colors doesn't change the file's color management, it just lets you see what the color values would look like if they are printed unchanged on different output devices. If you want to actually convert the color from one CMYK space to another, it's probably better to do that in Acrobat—Tools>Print Production>Convert Colors.
There's very little difference between Fogra27 and Fogra39—Fogra27 allows more total ink 350 vs. 330.
There's nothing you can do to improve the quality of low res images
