ODI 12c No Oracle Technology Under Logical Architecture

I have installed ODI 12c (Enterprise and Standalone) on XE 11g database. I have create a master repository and successfully logged in.
However under: Topology\Logical Architecture\Technologies there is no Oracle option only File and In-Memory Engine.
I have tried importing the Oracle technology XML file from: C:\oracle\middleware\ODI_Standalone_Home\odi\sdk\xml-reference twice and according to the import log it is being imported (and duplicated).
Have I missed a step? According to the ODE tutorial the Oracle technology (and many others) should exist under Topology\Logical Architecture\Technologies.

What about Physical Architecture?. Do you have Oracle under Physical Architecture?
You can view/hide unused technologies, may be you selected that option.

Hi Experts,
I am trying to install ODI 12c on Oracle database 12c. Where the ODI initial installation is good. But when I am trying to setup the master and work repositories on database 12c it is failing. The scripts generated by the RCU is working on 12c. I think it mainly about schema creation and roles that it it trying to create on the database.
Did anyone of you have gone through this issue, can throw some light. Thanks in Advance.

Yes, ODI 12c is certified for Oracle database 12c.

Whats the exact error that you are seeing while setting up the repositories. You can try creating Master & work repositories through ODI Studio as well.

1-logical architecture -> I assume the technical architecture for deployment of Oracle Applications (Single node, multi node, HA, DMZ configuration etc)
2-best practice -> Best Practices in each function within maintaining and implementing Oracle Applications.. like best practice for Upgrades, Coning Patching etc

ODI Reverse engineering for Oracle technology Custom views

We are using ODI (10.1.3.6) version and database oracle 11g.
Here we are trying to do reversing tables and views from oracle EBS database (11g).we used apps schema for database details. for oracle technology in the physical arch.
But views or tables are not visible to do reverse for oracle technology.
We have crated model and select the technology as oracle and corresponding logical schema , in the Reverse Tab we selected Standard ,selected views ,tables options and moved to select reverse Tab, and selected the 3 options of new datastore , existing.
But views or tables are not visible at all.
Please Anybody help me on this.

Instead of Standard reverse go for Custom reverse and use RKM E-Business Suite for this purpose.

Is ODI 12c included in 12c Oracle Server License?

Hello,
I'm looking into the licensing information and the only thing I was able to find out about ODI 12c is for Data integrator Enterprise Edition, that costs some 23k per CPU.
Plus Golden Gate for access to non-Oracle data sources.
Can someone please let me know if there's a basic version of ODI included in Oracle Server 12c license and if possible provide a link? It would be very helpful, since my current customers are using basic OWB and if they got to shell out 23k+ per CPU for ODI I think they'll look into the alternatives on the market.

No, ODI license is not included with Oracle DB license.

Create new Master Repository - oracle technology exist in logical topology

I have created a new master repository using the 'Create Master Repository' function in to an ORacle database user. This was all successful and I can sign in to topology manager as SUPERVISOR.
However I notice that the physical topology includes the 'oracle' technology in the list but this is NOT present in the logical topology.
When I import our models and projects that were developed elsewhere they fail becasue they are based on the oracle technology and this does not exist in the logical topology.
If I try to create the oracle technology or import it I get an error index violation on AK_TECHNO which is the index on the SNP_TECHNO table.
In the physical topology the oracle technology is shown as being both 'physical' and 'logical' (both check boxes are checked).
Any ideas ?

Turned off the hide unused technologoes and there they all are - including Oracle.................
So that explains why it appeared at some point before - once some data servers had been defined etc...........
I have my dataservers and schemas loaded now in the physical topology - but they are still not shoinwg in the logical topology - I think this is due to the data server in physical not being in the correct context. When I click the physical dataserver and go in to the contexts tab and choose global I get the error message (logical topology not configured for this context).

Why Logical Architecture in ODI

I am new in ODI and started to learn ODI. I understood some basic concept of ODI.
Now I am stuck here with Logical Architecture.
I know that in Logical Architecture we create a logical schema and assign it with the Context.
But I have to know that :
1. what is the purpose of Logical architecture and why it is come into the picture of Topology Navigator.?
2. why we use Logical architecture.

I can't attach any file, the buttons are inactive and I don't know the reason. I added full(sip) value to IKM Oracle Incremental update km ORACLE_HINT option. However; in designer tab, sip is in default container. Should I write full(default.sip) or full(sip). Also, under knowledge module tabs (IKM), I added many IKM incremental update modules (for SQL, MSSQL, ORACLE). In this case, which one ODI is uses is determined by the data server connection type? I want to guarantee that, these installed modules does not affect the others operation.

ODI 12c - Set staging table on source side

Hello All,
In ODI 12c, is there any default options I can choose if I want Staging Table (C$ Table -EXPRESSION_AP) be created on Source DB instead of Target DB?
Or is it possible to skip creating the staging table with default IKM/LKM?

In 12c the concept of specifying where to execute expressions has changed somewhat. You now have hints which ODI may override internally if there is a better execution plan.

JDK for ODI 12c on AIX

I am going to install the ODI 12c to AIX, the minimum requirement is JDK1.7
May I know which JDK I should install on AIX, the oracle one or the IBM one?
