ODI Agent - Memory Errors

Hi
I have installed ODI 11.1.1.6.0 - standard build with no patches. I have created an interface for loading data from SQL to Essbase using the IKM SQL to ESSBASE (DATA) KM.
I have installed the agent as a component of OPMN and updated the heap sizes in OPMN.xml to MIN = 1024m and MAX = 2048m
However each time I execute the interface and it fails, I have to restart the service as the agent is not releasing the memory and the next time I try to execute the interface it hangs.
Has anyone come across this before?

Try the setting below option in your odiparams file:
ODI_ADDITIONAL_JAVA_OPTIONS=-Doracle.odi.jdbc.connection.timeout=60000

Obviously something is not right.
I'm unclear as to the entry for ODI_SECU_WORK_REP in ODIPARMS. Is it the dataserver name that was set up in the repository, the Work name in the repository or the actual sqlserver database name for the work repository?

Also make sure you have created the agent in the topology manager before starting the agent up.

Out of Memory Error in ODI

We are working on Siebel to EBiz OIC PIP. This is direct integration using ODI.
When we are trying to move 4 lakh records from Siebel to EBiz OIC for PSR testing, Then the ODI process continue to run for ever and in the back ground (where the agent is started) we saw an out-of-memory error message.
Did any one of you come across such cases

If the issue come from ODI buffer.
You can maybe try to increase the MAX_HEAP_SIZE parameter on the ODIPARAMS.bat (odi_install --> oracledi --> bin).
Then restart your agent.
EDIT:
After taking a look to the documentation, if your agent is a windows Service and after updated the ODIPARams.bat the service
should be un-installed and then re-installed.

Memory error when executing package through SQL Server Agent.

Hi!!
I have a problem with a package (SSIS) when run on SQL Server Agent.
The job is configured
with the proxy and the account has the
required privileges. Runs perfectly
if the job runs manually, but if I let it
run on schedule I get a memory error.
Also if I run the
package through DTExec.exe or VS2008,
everything runs smoothly.
I am using SQL2008R2.
If someone has something similar happened
and have found how to fix it please i need
to know how.

Out of Memory Error in Java Agents running in lotus notes

I have a java agent running inside lotus notes jvm. It runs fine for some days but after some days start giving out of memory error and terminates.
I need to restart agent manager in notes to enable java agent running. Is there a way to catch out of memory error so that on its catch i could restart agent manager.

I need to know a way to enter catch block of 'OUTOFMEMORYERROR'.
My whole code is in a try block with two catches, one for outofmemoryerror and another for exception. When outofmemory error occurs control passes to the exception catch and not outofmemoryerror catch.
Since out of memory is an error and not an exception, is there a way to catch it or run some code when out of memory occurs.

Are you sure the datasources point to the right master/work configuration, and that your repository is correctly up-to-date? This looks like the agent trying to connect a repository, but the repository is not updated correctly, or misses some columns. The whole stack (and the name of the missing column) would help of course.

ODI Agent error

Hi John,
I am using my ODI agent as a windows service. It was working fine.
But now it is not running fine and when i have seen the log for it the following error is given

If it is not working from batch then you need to check the odiparams.bat file, it is more than likely some of the information is not correct in it.

Error Adding ODI Agent to OPM-NModule libopmncustom: initialization failed

I am getting an error when I try to add, remove or start and ODI Agent in OPMN. The Error is as follows:

I can start and successfully test the agent using the agent_DEVAGENT.bat file but the problem seems to be adding it to OPMN.
-This issues seems to be that the OPMN module libopmncustom failed to initialize properly and hence has been disabled. I cannot see how I can enable it and test again.
I have tried the following to resolve the issue
1. Removed the agent and restarted it
2. Restarted the OPMN service
3. Restarted the server
4. Reinstalled ODI as well as the Stand Alone Agent
5. Uninstalled OPMN and installed it to a different location
Has anyone come across this and could you please give me a few pointers of what I can look at. The configs that I have are as follows

Solved the problem by dropping and recreating the user schema and all its objects, reinstalling and configuring both ODI and OPMN.
If you ever come across the problem I recommend the above, you will save yourself hours of troubleshooting

Photoshop CS6 has out of memory errors under Mac OS X 10.7.4

Has anyone who has a 2008 MacBoo Pro with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB graphics card tried running Photoshop CS6 under Mac OS X 10.7.4?
On my MacBook Pro, PS CS6 launches; however, any action results in an out of memory error. The CS6 versions of After Effects, Premiere Pro and Illustrator all launch and run as expected under 10.7.4.
If I switch to my Mac OS X 10.6.8 startup volume, Photoshop CS6 runs as expected.
I have support cases open with Adobe, NVidia and Apple. Adobe thinks I need to update the display drivers. NVidia says display drivers must be provided by Apple. Apple says that the display drivers are current. The Apple support agent said that he can escalate the case if the issue can be reproduced on more than one computer.
I'd love to keep my MacBook Pro running another year or so without having to reboot in 10.6.8 every time I need to use Photoshop. I'd stay with 10.6.8, but of course iCloud requires 10.7.4.
I have not tried 10.8 yet, but it's on my troubleshooting list.
Also, PS CS6 runs fine under Mac OS X 10.7.4 on my 2010 iMac.

It looks like it was indeed the display driver for the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB graphics card inside my 2008 MacBook Pro.
It seems that this driver only gets installed if you upgrade from Mac OS X 10.6.7 to 10.7.4 while the startup drive is connected to the MacBook Pro itself. I had updated while the startup drive was connected to my 2010 iMac. Accordingly, I could have reinstalled Photoshop 100 times without it ever launching as expected. Having used the external startup drive with three other Apple computers (all 2010 or newer machines) with Photoshop CS6 launching as expected, I had just assumed (mistakenly) that it would work as expected with my 2008 computer.
So, this was simple enough to resolve by upgrading the OS on the external startup drive while having it connected to the MacBook Pro. In hindsight, this makes perfect sense.

ODI agent creation issue

Hi,
I am trying to create ODI agent in Windows. I have followed the steps in ODI set up document. It has launched the server. Now I am trying to create that as a windows service. But I am getting following error message.
I ran the followiing the command line
<ODI_HOME>\bin\agentservice -i -s Sched_Agent 20910
The error I am getting is
"FATAL | wrapper | The argument 'Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_12\bin\java.exe' is not a valid property name-value pair."
I have 10.1.3.5.5
My ODI_JAVA_HOME is pointing to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_12. Is this the issue for the error

The reason is becuase you JDK path is some thing like this c:\program files\Java\jdk1.5.0_12\bin\java.exe'
so what is the happening becuase of space between program and files its not picking up the correct JDK path .
Either change the path of JDK installation or
go to your odiparam path and go to this line

or

Hi Ratish,
Following are the things i did and things which are happening .. :)
created a scenario and scheduled it.
And from Topology Man.. Agent Window... clicked on "Update Scheduling"... Output is "Planning Update is Completed" and when i click on Schedule Information" it is throwing warning saying... "Unable to retrieve Agents Schedule"... and my scheduled job is also not executed at scheduled time.
Any idea what could be the problem?

I realized that my odiparams.sh had incorrect commands which came out because of copy paste mistake.

In your output you have :-

It is trying to call "%ODI_HOME%\bin\odiparams.bat
and it can't find the file.
Do you have an windows environment variable set for ODI_HOME
If not create one and set its value to C:\ODI\oracledi
or update it to the path above
It should then find odiparams.bat

If an internal ID is changed for the Work Repository how does it affect objects that are already in it? Will they continue to run or do you need to cycle the ODI agent?

I was having trouble migrating the Master and Work repositories from my QA to my Prod environment. I was getting an error message that the internal id's were alike so I changed the internal id in my Prod Master repository. Then I tried to migrate the Work repository and was getting a similar error. I did a search on the internet for the error message and it recommended that I renumber the Work repository so I did. My concern now is how these changes affect the objects that are already in the repositories? Will those objects continue to run? Also do these changes take affect immediately or do you need to cycle the ODI agent?

Well I cannot completely assure you but so far I have not faced any issues after a renumber. It will affect the exist object only when you have imported the object in synonym_update mode. I believe you have the daily backup of your production repository.

I am trying to load metadata From Oracle to Essbase.In the Essbase data server, all credentails are correct. In the model, I am using OracleDIAgent(not local agent), Context Global, RKM Hyperion Essbase.
In the execution, Start the Reverse is failing and getting the below error.

Actually i have written big reply to u with explaining about the issue. But at the writing reply only, i got an idea to resolve this.
Now i am able to run the Model successfully.
Yes, you are correct. Due to invalid credentials only i am getting this error.
I want to ask you one thing. Actually, at the time configuration i gave password as a password, then my manager wants to change that password to Gxxx@123!
I have changed that password, it is working fine to connect workspace, easconsole and all.
But the issue i seen in creating DataSource(In planning), i am getting error with new password in the Essbase server datails. If i give old password(as password), it is working fine.
So, How can get that new password to work here??
In ODI also, it is the issue. When i am using New password it is not working. With Old password it is working fine.
