ODI Integration with SAS

Hello Gurus,
I need to connect ODI to SAS Warehouse. Can somebody guide me through the process or help me with the documentation.
Thanks in Advance

There is a KM for SAS but I think it needs any special SAS installations/modules on the ODI server to be able to connect with SAS.
I mean to say that ODI cannot connect with SAS out of box.
We looked into connecting to SAS but dropped the plans realizing these dependencies.

  • ODI Integration with Siebel

We are from Siebel Marketing team and are evaluating if we can use ODI to move the data from staging tables to Siebel Base tables including Party tables like Contacts/Prospects/Accounts etc.
In order to do that, we need answers of the following basic questions.
    1) How does ODI take care of Validations like LOV etc at the table level?
    2) Are user key validations configurable?
    3) Are Parent Child validations possible like one address (child) mandatory for a contact (parent) to exist?
    4) Can an external web Service be called to do the dedup matching? Will that perform? We want to use this essentially for Dedupe logic when moving the data into Party tables.
    5) In that case how do we specify the matching guideline like Reject/Update/Insert the record if a match is found?
    6) Is there any Siebel team which integrates with ODI currently?
Any inputs would be really helpful.

  • ODI integration with JMS Queue

    Hi,
I've been searching for some instructions on how to integrate ODI with JMS Queue but there's a distinct lack of information on the internet.
Can anybody point me to a step by step guide they have come across?
    Any help is gratefully received.
    Thanks
    Gav

    Hi Manish,
As of now there is no out-box-adapter for JMS queue.
If you don’t want JNBridge adapter (I hope you’re referring to same. There is no “jt” adapter as you mentioned), you can create a custom adapter which access the JMS queue.
Use WCF LOB adaper (WCF Lob
    Adapter Wizard)and create an adapter.
Following article details about the .NET code for messaging with JMS queue, try the code.
Use JMS Messaging in your C# Applications
And following articles give details about using WCF LOB adapter/Wizard:
What Is the WCF LOB Adapter SDK?
    Sample:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb798102.aspx
    http://geekswithblogs.net/michaelstephenson/archive/2009/02/10/129302.aspx
Use similar code (one from above codeproject article where how to do messaging between JMS queue is shown) to wrapper it around custom WCF LOB adapter.
Give it a try, if you don’t want to spend anything on a 3rd party adapter.

  • ODI Integration with MQ

    Hi,
I have a requirement to integrate ODI with an MQ. Is this possible? if yes, please let me me know the steps required to configure an MQ with ODI using JMS queues. Any documents on thsi will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    harsha.

ODI natively supports the use of JMS as a source or target.
    - Which JMS are you looking to use?
You simply define the JMS broker (data server) in topology in the usual way - but normally using JNDI to get the Queue/Topic ConnectionFactory to make the connection.
You then with the standard JMS KMs read and write, not forgetting the transactionality in JMS relates to the commit or rollback in the JMS environment.

  • ODI integration with SAP HRMS

    Hi,
We got a requirement to fetch the data from SAP HRMS and store in SQL Server. I have knowledge in ODI. But I don't have any idea about SAP. In Topology Manager we have technologies like SAP, SAP Java Connector.
Under which technology do we need to add the server? Do we need to download any adpators for connection?
Can any one guide me how to connect to SAP HRMS, any pre configuration required in ODI, what are the requirements to connect to SAP.
    Thanks,
    Naveen Suram

    Thanks Guru for prompt response....
I have gone through that doc....in this one...they are importing the SAP ABAP technology.
Like the same way, do we need to download any technology for HRMS module or under which technology we need to add.
    Thanks,

  • Oracle BAM –ODI Integration Installation

    Hi,
I am new here in BAM and need to do the fresh installation of BAM in Linux. In my search I have found this document <http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/11g/technotes11g/technote_bam-odi_installation.pdf > which actually tells us about the ODI integration with BAM, so could anyone help me the difference about ODI & BAM and is ODI a mandatory requirement for BAM installation in Linux?
Can anyone guide me the high level steps for BAM -linux installation and if there is any document with the detailed steps ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Sam

    Hi Payal,
Thx a lot for your quick response!!! Yes for now I would only need to install BAM with WLS and I am trying to open that oracle link to understand the complete steps but no luck, seems none of the link is working at my end or taking long time/stuck:- <http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/soa.htm>.
The mentioned steps is for Oracle BAM with Linux ? I am still doing my research on this but in the meanwhile if you could pls help me with more detailed instructions on this for ex:-
Install DB ---- which version of Oracle DB shall I install for 10.3 wls, any other pre-requisites before installing DB or etc.?
Run RCU .--- what is this ?
Select BAM schema to install. ------- From where ?
It will auto select the pre-requisites.
    install WLS
unzip and install soa extension ----- from where would I get this zipped file?
    run config wizard.
Select BAM and FMW console -- what is FMW console ?
Sorry as I very new to this, my questions may not be very appropriate. Please let me know if I am wrong anywhere. And also if we have any other links/document for complete installation of BAM w/h Linux as I found many documents for windows but none for linux.

  • ODI metadata integration with EPMA Shared library

Is ODI integrates with Oracle and EPMA shared library or not.
if not then we have some other tool to integrates the same.

I believe John Goodwin wrote a series of blog-posts to show exactly this integration.

  • ODI integtation with e-Business Suite Release 12

    Hello,
Has anyone successfully used ODI to integrate date into e-Business Suite Release 12?
I notice that the only e-Business Suite IKM is specific to Open Interface tables. Is this a problem in R12 where the documented interfaces in the Integration Repository (iREP) no longer list Open Interface tables as a means to get data into the product? iREP in R12 lists mainly PL/SQL or Java APIs and XML Gateway as the integration options.
Also, as I would expect there to be significant functionality differences between Release 11i and 12 - how is this reflected in the Knowledge Modules? I can only see one IKM for e-Business Suite. Is it generic?
Are any separate knowledge modules available for R12 and/or the PL/SQL or Java APIs?
If not, has anyone attempted to build a custom integration with the APIs instead, and what feedback do you have, in particular around performance?
    Cheers,
    John

    Hello again!
I've located the open interface tables in e-Business Suite Release 12's Integration Repository - for some reason they were only getting displayed if I drilled down on 'interface type' rather than the standard product view.
    Anyway...
The open interface tables that are documented do not have the same module coverage as the PL/SQL APIs.
This means for some areas I am forced to extract a set of records from a source table and integrate a single record at a time with a PL/SQL procedure.
As there is no supplied IKM for e-Business Suite APIs how can I approach this? Can you create a data store that is a PL/SQL procedure?
Again, if someone has managed to integrate into the e-Business Suite APIs can you please offer some guidance?
    Cheers,
    John

  • How to make 2 Node File Cluster with SAS Disks

    Hello,
I cant fine any detailed, specific information and answer on this question
I have 2 Servers, Say HP, with 4 SAS disks each,  1 for OS (2012R2Data) and 3 available.
I want to create fault tolerant SMB 3.0 share for my Hyper-v nodes, to make hyper-v FT cluster afterwards.
So, I see inr equirements that SAS disks will work, but during creating cluster, I can not manage Cluster to see disks from both servers (total 6 free units)
If it is made via ISCSi target, both servers have access to that targets and cluster sees all available through iSCSI disks, but how to mnake SAS disk available to other server?
Is it possible what I need with this configuration?  is it a option to make each server iSCSI target and initiator? (but it would be way complicated and slow, I think).
so, what I have misunderstood, how to make FT file Cluster with 2 servers with SAS drives?
Any info about this SPECIFIC config would be welcomed, or any general step-by-step guides  (please, do not link me guides with other config, like iscsi or with additional servers, I have seen a lot of them :()
    thanks

You cannot do what you want with a Microsoft built-in tools. MSFT require you to take your SAS disks away from your servers, buy a SAS JBOD (better more then one to get advantage of a so-called "enclosure awareness" and avoid single point of failure) and
configure Clustered Storage Spaces with now *external* SAS drives. See:
How to Configure a Clustered Storage Space in Windows Server 2012
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/clustering/archive/2012/06/02/10314262.aspx
    Prerequisites
A minimum of three physical drives, with at least 4 gigabytes (GB) capacity each, are required to create a storage
    pool in a Failover Cluster.
The clustered storage pool MUST be comprised
of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) connected physical disks. Layering any form of storage subsystem, whether an internal RAID card or an external RAID box, regardless of being directly connected or connected via a storage fabric, is not supported.
Windows Server 2012 R2 had flexed out some limitations so now ReFS is supported (but useless as VMs cannot be integrity checked and protected) and now you can use parirty spaces (also useless as they are DOG slow with a typical VM workload dominated by small
writes, say 4KB write initiates 256KB+ parity stripe read-modify-write update). Core requirements "SAS everywhere" is still there.
So if you don't want to mess with SAS JBODs you may give a try to a virtual SAN solutions available on the market. They can cluster a pair of hosts (even with a single port SATA drives) w/o any external hardware, only Ethernet required. There are even free
    options available. See:
    Free Virtual SAN
    http://www.starwindsoftware.com/native-san-for-hyper-v-free-edition
Also Google (or Bing?) for DataCore and SteelEye as they have very similar native (Windows-based) offerings. + there's bunch of a VM-running storage doing more or less the same.
Hope this helped a bit :)
StarWind VSAN [Virtual SAN] clusters Hyper-V without SAS, Fibre Channel, SMB 3.0 or iSCSI, uses Ethernet to mirror internally mounted SATA disks between hosts.

  • Hyperion and ODI Integration

While integrating Hyperion Essbase and ODI (oracle Data integrator) , can ODI directly read from Hyperion or does Hyperion generates csv through which we can make ODI read .
Can some one through some light on this process. since the Oracle documentation talks more abt the flat files like Csv etc. So i got this doubt.?
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can perform the following task at the time of integration of ODI With Hyperion Essbase
    i) Data Loads
    ii) Dimension Loads
    iii) Data Extracts
    iv) Dimension Extracts
Available Knowledge Modules for the Hyperion Integration with ODI are:
    RKM Hyperion Essbase
LKM Hyperion Essbase Data to SQL
LKM Hyperion Essbase Metadata to SQL
IKM SQL to Hyperion Essbase (Data)
IKM SQL to Hyperion Essbase (Metadata)
3 types of Data Extract possible
    Report Scripts
    MDX Scripts
    Calc Scripts
    2 types of Load possible
    Rule file based load
    API based load
There is no limitation of using csv file you can load metadata or data from RDBMS (ISO 89 Syntax Supported E.g. DB2,Oracle,SQL Server),text file even from xml

  • Oracle GL Integration with Hyperion Planning

    Dear All,
I need to integrate Oracle GL with Hyperion Planning.
    My Question are:
    1) Without any adapters, we can do this integration(Using PL/SQL). It is Possible?
    2) Any document is available for intergration using the adapters(DIM/ODI).
ODI - Using ODI, one way of integration is possible(Oracle GL to Planning)
DIM - Using DIM, two way of integration is possible(Oracle GL to Planning & Planning to Oracle GL)
can u guide me in this situtation.
    Thanks,
    PC

    H John,
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I am using Hyperion 9.3.1 with Oracle 10g. This is the first time, i am trying to do the integration with Oracle GL. My client dont have licenses for DIM, they are not ready to buy the licenses.
There is anyway to load the essbase cubes through Oracle tables.
John, This is my idea(Can u please suggest me on this). I am doing this in a test environment.
    1) From Oralce GL server, I am taking the Trial Balance values into flat files
    2) I am creating one Oracle table for TB_ORAGL(In Planning Server)
    3) In Planning server, i am importing the flat files(TB_ORAGL) to the Oracle
    4) From oracle table(TB_ORAGL), i am trying importing the data to essbase cubes using data load.
Vice versa steps for Hyperion Planning to Oracle GL.
can u guide me in this situtation.
    Thanks,

  • Demantra RTSOP Integration with Siebel

    Hi Gurus,
I have come across a requirement in which Demantra RTSOP needs to be integrated with Siebel Application to collect the Sales and Marketing Forecast from Siebel.
How can this be done? Do we need to use ODI or some other way is possible?
    Demantra Version is 7.3.1.2
    Thanks in Advance
    Sunil

    Hi,
First create the series where you want to load the S&M forecast in Demantra. Create the Import integration interface (through business modeler) in terms of what levels you want the data to be brought it and map to existing levels in Demantra. This will create a staging table for you (BIIO type table) and it will create a workflow also to load the data from this staging table to base table of Demantra.
All you have to do now is to create a custom program to extract the data and load it in this staging table and trigger the workflow to load the data in Demantra.
