ODI Login Profiles / Connection Info
Where does ODI store the login profile information i.e. username/password + associated connection profiles. Is it in a config file somewhere in the ODI directory structure?
I thought that was the case. In that case how would it be possible to have 2 different lists of profiles? When I access ODI from shortcuts on the desktop I get the list I expect to see and the details present in the config files you mentioned. However when I access any of the ODI modules from the Programs menu I get a completely different list of profiles which I can't find in any of the config files. Any ideas??
My ODI version is 10 -
Hi all,
I am quiet new to ODI and plan to use it with Hyperion Planning to get the meta data in to the planning application.
I have started the demo environment and now need to know the login credentials. I have downloaded and installed the same.
On the login it gives me 2 options - Getting started on ETL and Oracle data repository. What is the password to enter the system so I can start exploring the tool.
Cheers,Hi
No need to enter any password for the Demo environment.
Login name - Getting Started - ELT Project
User name - Getting Started - ELT Project
Password - <Blank>
Start the Demo environment before logging.
Thanks

DB Dumps import/export in ODI
I have Master and Work DB dumps. Now i created two new schemas where i am importing these dumps.
I created a Master rep with the new schema name and login for the same. I didnt see any topology which was there in the imported dump.Moreover when i tried to explicitly create a work rep , its not allowing saying password doesnt match with the existing. SO when i edited the login for the new work im seeing its taking workrep1 by default . so when i tried to remove it , then there is no work rep for the master details given.
what can i do ?Zareen Shaikh wrote:
I am moving from dev->Test. so i have taken expdp and impdp.I have not got any errors while doing so. But when i created master , i assumed , it should have all connection , work rep.If this is the case - you dont need to be 'creating' a master - as you've just imported it from Dev - you should just be logging in. If the schema passwords have changed you need to first change your ODI Login profile to the master repos, login to Topology, change the work repos connection (under Work Repositories) to your new password - You should then have a full clone of your Dev objects into your Test environment.
However I would warn you that you've done x2 questionable things here that might trip you up in future :
1) You have cloned Master and Work repositories, with identical ID's into another environment that is part of your development lifecycle , from this point on you wont be able to incrementally release new / change code from Dev to Test - You are looking at full database (schema) exports and the same list of configuration changes you are doing now, every time you want to release a bit of code (unless you replicate the developments in Test but there is scope for error there).
2) You have created a 'development' type work repository in your test environment , there is nothing stopping people changing the ODI code in Interfaces, Proceedures, Knowledge modules etc. - how will you guarantee that Test is a true release from Dev (and preceeding Production) when they can both go in different directions. I would suggest you create a brand new 'Execution' only repository and only ever release scenarios from Dev to test - this forces changes to be made in the right place (dev) and the code is protected where it should be (Test)
But since it was not there , i manually tried to create Work rep.In doing so , it asked for password , test connection was successful but when it asked for password confirmation and i am giving the same password , its not takingWhere is it asking for password confirmation exactly? The Work Repository data server connection or your ODI Login Profile when trying to log into Studio? -
Hi,
Sorry for asking this very old question now. I have gone through various blog posts and still i am unable to find any proper solution.
I am in OBIEE 11g. I would like to cutomize my answers login page content. I don't want any text fields/buttons in the page . I need a simple plain page in which i want to post my customized message. I am able to locate the logonmessages.xml and other xml files under msgdb.
But i am unable to identify where the code for text fields,buttons are ? I don't see any signin.html file in my installation.
There are 2 files analytics.ear and analytics.war on which i don't have any idea.
Could you please help me to achieve this?
ThanksOBIEE, Endeca and ODI: Login Page Custom Text : OBIEE 11g
Just curious which text fields/buttons in the page you want to take out and why ?

InDesign CC - User not able to drag images into.
ENG:
I can start the software only with administrative privileges;
If you run it as a local user of the machine, which is a domain user set as administrator of the machine, it crashes: freeze of the main windows with no chance of closure; only from task manager i can close it.
But, if i run it as admin (from the local account, using the properties "run as administrator" of the executable file), the software starts successfully but there is another thing that does not work: dragging images. I can only select if from a menu "Insert". If i try to drag the image from desktop to a new Indesign doc, i'm not enabled to (icon of ban).
All these things do not occur if I log on windows with the user "administrator".
Scenario:
Windows 7 SP1;
PC is part of a windows domain;
User Domain set as administrator of the Pc.
ITA:
Scenario:
Windows 7 SP1
Pc facente parte di un dominio windows;
Utente del dominio che esegue il software impostato come amministratore del Pc locale.Hi Dev,
I tried once again and faced the same issue.
This is what I did:
1. ./startdemo.sh all
2. /designer.sh
3.In the ODI login console selected the Login 'Getting Started – ETL Project.' Clicked Ok. Designer Starts
4. Show View ->Projects Projects Tab Opens
5. Demo->Sales Administration ->Interfaces . Right-click on the Interfaces node and choose Insert Interface.
6. Interface ->Definition Tab Name the Interfaces as 'Pop. Trg_City'
7.Click Diagram
8.windows->show View->Models Models Tab Opens
9. In the Models Tab . select Sales Administration -HSQL ->TRG_CITY Draged and Placed it on the Interfaces Diagram Target datastore
Nothing happens then . TRG_CITY doesnt Come onto the Interface Diagram Tab.

Please help me in this Issue.

Error while executing a package in ODI
Hi,
I am new to Oracle technology and when i am trying to execute one package through Oracle Data Integrator i am getting the below error. Even when i am trying to execute the procedure 'GENERATE_NAT_KEY' i am getting the error
ODI-1228: Task Generate Natural Key (Procedure) fails on the target ORACLE connection ORACLE_OII.

ORA-06512: at "OII_ST.GENERATE_NAT_KEY", line 65
ORA-06512: at line 2
I am not able to figure out the issue. Can any one help me in this regards.Hi;
You have to login https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/flash.html and you have to CSI account.
This site is oracle site for tech. documents for can rise SR etc.. for more details please check Re: Installing Oracle Database 10.2.0.4
you need to customer support identifier which is called CSI for can login metalink(https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/flash.html)
If you dont have metalink account there is no way to see that doc.
Pretty simple process:
1) You purchase a perpetual or term license from Oracle;
2) At the beginning of the period, during the valid term you purchase
Support for the period (1 year);
3) Oracle sends you the CSI.
Easy to do at http://store.oracle.com armed with a credit card.

Multiple users accessing the ODI.
Hi Experts,,
I have set up the odi and created the physical and logical schema.
My question is that when i'm creating the physical schema i entered the user name and password for the planning,essbase and hfm as admin id.
How do we differ between the individual user..that mean i want make individual user to his own id to to login to the app thru odi.
And also how do we differ the development done by each user...for example if user 1's code has to be migrated to the next env how do we get his??
My basic req is to have each user has to login with his id and his development code is saved seperately for him
Plz Advise in this..
Thanks in advance.Hi,,
Following are the steps which i followed...And still cannot make any progress..
1.logged in to sec manager as supervisor and crated a user "developer" with psw "developer".
2.added some profiles to him.
3.copied snps_login_security.xml and snps_login_work.xml from the server to the client machine.
4.tried to login to the designer using the developer id.
in the login page of designer i edited the user details as developer and entered the master rep details and the jdbc url details.
following is the error details...
Plz let me know if i have done any mistakes to follow your instructions???

How to configure ODI for server and client correct?
Hi forum,
this is my first post and i hope you guys can help me out ...
i
am new to ODI and WLS and in my case ODI need to run on a server where a couple of clients can connect to, work on the same project with their own workspaces and accounts.
The database will be located on the same server.
As far as i understood, i need to install the the ODI Java EE type (not the standalone type) with a WLS ?!
iI already nstalled
JDK 6u41 (x64),
ODI 11g (11.1.1.6, generic),
Oracle DB 11g R2 enterprise and
WebLogic 11g (10.3.6, generic)
on the Server and now i am trying to connect to the ODI repositories from a client with an ODI standalone installation.
I am now trying to insert a Data Source into the physical agemt (not even sure if i need to do this in my case).
Following these instructions (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/integrate.1111/e12643/setup_topology.htm#CHDHJBAD) i get an ODI-26029 error.

Getting error while importing topology,scenarios from 11.3 to ODI 11.5
Hi,
Recently I had installed ODI 11.1.5.
Now I am importing topology and scenarios exported from my older ODI 11.1.3 via shell script on Linux machine.
There around 25 topology and around 40 scenarios.When i execute the script out of these some topology and scenarios get imported and for rest i get following error.
Imported files are not persistent.Sometimes same file got imported and when I execute next time the same file gives error.

Please guide me in this regard.hi actdi,
Thanks for your guidance.
we have tried this also....but still the same unstable import....
We have another doubt while execuing scenarios using ODI Java EE Agent in ODI 11.5:
We have one customized jar which we use in our scenario at runtime.
In case of Odi 11.1.1.3 Version, there is a location
<Middleware>\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\odi_Server1\tmp\_WL_user\oraclediagent\ev3fsn\war\WEB-INF\lib
where we can put customized jar, so that at runtime oraclediagent picks up this jar from the given location,
but in ODI 11.1.1.5 Version,
at the given location <Middleware>\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\odi_Server1\tmp\_WL_user\oraclediagent\ev3fsn\war\WEB-INF\
there is no <lib> folder for oraclediagent.
Is there any different path for the same lib folder in 11.1.1.5? or is dere a miss ?
Kindly guide. -
