ODI Scheduler

Hi,
I'd like to schedule a scenario with ODI scheduler ( ODI V. 10.1.3.4.0 ) .
I performed the following steps :
- Under the scenario , right click on scheduling , and click on ” Insert scheduling ”. I apply my schedule setting and then click "ok".
- To apply Scheduling : Topology – > Physical Architecture – > Agent .
- Right click on Logical Agent and Click on the ” Update Scheduling ” .
- Scheduler agent is running and I verify that it works.
But I don't view any sheduling...
Why ?
thanks in advance

But I don't view any sheduling...
what do you mean by the above statement.
Did it run as per schedule?
or You mean to say ..you didn't see the schedule process in the window ? refresh the window
please be clear

  • Suddenly ODI scheduled executions taking more time than usual.

    Hi,
I have set ODI packages scheduled for execution.
From some days those are taking more time to execute themselves.
Before they used to take 1 hr 30 mins approx.
Now they are taking 3 - 3 hr 15 mins approx.
And there no any major change in data in terms of Quantity.
    My ODI version s
    Standalone Edition Version 11.1.1
    Build ODI_11.1.1.3.0_GENERIC_100623.1635
ODI packages are mainly using Oracle as SOURCE and TARGET DB.
What things should i check to get to know reasons of sudden increase in time of execution.
Any pointers regarding this would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    Mahesh,
Use some repository queries to retrieve the session task timings and compare your slow execution to a previous acceptable execution, then look for the biggest changes - this will highlight where you are slowing down, then its off to tune the item accordingly.
See here for some example reports , you might need to tweak for your current repos version but I dont think the table structures have changed that much :

color is fine indicating your special conditions.
You should be able to see the schedule in the job list in view schedule dialog after updating schedules on the agent.
Make you you adjust the from and two schedule filter ont eh view schedule dialog appropriately and click on refresh to make the change effective in window.

  • ODI Scheduling Not Running

    Hi,
We recently updated to ODI 10.1.3.6.0. The Scenarios are not running at their scheduled times. They only run when manually executed. Old schedules work fine, but all new changes aren't taking effect. We are not receiving any error message, we check the session and it isn't running.
    Thanks for your help.

    hi,
when you execute the interface manually, current time is written on operator tab and related line.
    is that time is true?

  • ODI scheduling issue

I was scheduled one agent, for the first time it took only 20 min to execute,
but 2nd time onwards it is taking 7 to 8hrs,
I'm unable to find the why it is running more time.
what is the issue? can any one help on this?

    Hello,
What kind of scenario did you run ?
How many interfaces with which KMs ?
A first tip would be to check the CPU usage on the server side. You have maybe a deadlock or something ;).

  • ODI Scheduled Jobs

    Hi,
I have more than 100 jobs scheduled in my work repository.Difficult to maintain a spreadsheet and keep track of scheduled jobs and their scheduled timings.
Are there any database tables at back end which has list of all scheduled jobs and their corresponding scheduled timings?
Any help on this would be really appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi 2755523,
You can query the repository :
    SELECT * FROM SNP_PLAN_AGENT;
You can find the repository structure in Doc ID 1903225.1 on My Oracle Support : https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?_afrLoop=545729001970661&id=1903225.1&_adf.ctrl-state=8ftus7sby_5…

  • ODI Scheduler - Restart Retries

    Hi All,
    I would like to make a change in scheduling of a package. Here is what I would like to accomplish;
-Run it once a day at 4:00AM (currently set)
-If it fails during execution, try restarting it up to 5 times (how?)
Can I accomplish the second task by setting the Execution Cycle Constraints "Number of attempts on failure" to 5? or is there additional tasks I need to perform?
Thank you all in advance for all the help and insight you might be able to provide.
    Kind Regards,
    Emrah

  • ODI Scheduling - Biweekly

Does anyone know how to schedule a scenario to run on a bi-weekly basis, like every other Thursday at noon. I tried a Simple schedule using Execution Cycle/Many times/Interval between Repetitions/336/hours but there are two problems. First, the cycle begins when the previous run ends. So, for a 2 hour scenario the start time floats forward 2 hours for every run. Second, the cycle is broken when the agent is stopped, and when the agent is restarted it begins the cycle as of the agent start time. So if the agent was stopped on the weekend for server patching and restarted on Saturday at 5 PM the scenario would immediately kick off and the cycle would be based on Saturday at 5 PM instead of Thursday at noon.

If i use the monthly (week day) Execution and pick first Thursday and third Thursday then it works for the first couple of months then goes awry as the 14 day period floats backwards through a 30+ day month. Are you suggesting I end date the first schedule when it goes wrong and follow it with another schedule that picks up say on the second and fourth Thursday, and then end date that one and follow it with another etc., so that i have many schedules covering as far out as i am willing to create schedules?

  • Problem in Creating and Scheduling an ODI Scenario

    Hi,
while Creating and Scheduling an ODI Scenario with the help of the following link:
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/odi/10g/10135/creating_scheduling_scenario/creating_scheduling_scenario.htm#t2
Oracle DI Agent is not listed in services window(Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools > Services).
    What shall I do?
please tell me.And in addition please tell me the use of the Oracle DI Agent and why should we stop its service before creating the schedule??
    Thanks
    Anindya

Please also look into this link http://odiexperts.com/agent/
First of all did you got any Error why creating Agent Server else the agent service should be visible.
    Else please try this step.
    Update Odiparams
    agentservice -i -s <agent_name>
Go and look for Services starting with Oracledi_Agent_<agentNAME> and start it  Finally test the agent and you should be able to schedule.
you dont need to stop the Agent for every new Schedule, but you will need to right click on Agent and click on Update Scheduling -http://odiexperts.com/scheduling-using-odi-scheduler/
If you are getting an error please provide us the error info and step at which you got the error.

  • How Does the scheduler works with ODI engine

    Hi All,
I am new to the ODI and I was going through the documents over the web regarding the scheduling.
Can anyone please let me know how does the Scheduler in ODI is coupled with the ODI engine.
How does the internal scheduler works and how does the external one works. What are the processes the it calls while invoking the scheduler.
Your help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sumit

Scheduling in ODI is controlled by a special type of ODI agent, strangley called the ODI scheduling agent. This agent is installed as a service and as well as being responsible for all tasks associated with a normal agent is also responsible for managing ODI jobs based on any scheduling information associated with an ODI scenario. All scheduling information is stored in the ODI repository and the scheduler agent reads from this to determine which jobs/scenarios need to be executed and when.

  • Running Multiple ODI Agents On The Same Server

Is it possible to run multiple ODI Scheduler Agents simultaneously on the same Server?
As we provide Work repository name in ODI params file and if we have different work repository
and we want to run schedular agent on same server how can we point to the other work repository.
Do we need to create another installation of ODI agent files on same server?
    Thanks
    Kashi

    Hey Kashi,
You do not have to instal a separate Agent files again. All you need to do is to make sure that each set of agent has all the required parameter files which inclues, odiparams.bat , agentstart.bat and agentstop.bat(names may not be exactly same). Here is a website that gives you more details regarding creating multiple agents on same server

  • ODI...stamming !

    Hi
ODI had a strange behaviour when running a package :
the first steps run normally and then, each steps runs twice.
Luckily, it ended with an error (duplicate key in a table) but I'm worried about this behaviour because I can't explain it.
    any idea

Thank you Zak for your workaround
Actually, we have found out the reason of the double run :
the scenario was launched by the ODI scheduler. At the same moment, another scenario was running and it was using some of the same datastores as mine.
The problem occured with the work tables created by ODI (when you are using a workspace between source and target) : ODI was using the same names for both scenarios and the second scenario was reading rows created by the first one !!!
We fixed the problem by ticking off the "workspace different from target" in the flow tab of the interface.
Another way of fixing (when it is absolutely useful to have a work environment) is to change the name of the work table in the KM in order to have a unique name.
So be all careful with shared datastores and use of workspace !!

  • Scheduling .bat File to Execute SFTP

    All,
We are trying to schedule a .bat file to run SFTP via either the Windows scheduler or the ODI scheduler. When we try both ways they don't work. It seems to be something to do with the system not having a user currently logged on (for a current session) when the .bat file is ran. Is it possible to schedule a .bat file to execute SFTP via ODI? If not, does anyone know a way to accomplish this goal?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Josh

    Hi Josh,
Not sure this is what you meant, but if your doubt is whether or not you can run your batch in ODI, then the answer is yes, you can run any .bat.
ODI offers several alternative ways - please refer on Metalink Note 423761.1 "Best practices when embedding Operating System Commands in ODI": just for example you can embed your batch into a Jython procedure and run this via os.system (your_batch).
I find this method quite handy, as in a procedure you can set up several parameters into a single shot (e.g. using "options").
    Hope this helps,
    scagliaf

  • ** Is it possible to run a windows .bat script job from ODI between server?

    Hello Friends,
We have ODI 10.1.3.5 on a Win2003 Server.
Have a windows Batch script job .bat(this is a related to a different program - DRM) on a different Windows 2003 server...is it possible to execute .bat job thru ODI between servers?
    Appreciate your suggestions...
    Thanks.

    Hi AJ,
    Here are more details:
    Server-A: ODI Server (Win2003)
    Server-B: Oracle DRM Server (Win2003)
Server-C: ODI scheduler agent is installed (Linux)
We have a .bat batch script job on Server-B which we are planning to run from Server-A (as part of the ODI package execution flow)
This .bat job exports the DRM hierarchy data to a table that ODI uses to process next steps.
So, you are suggesting to install ODI agent on Server-B? If we do that...not sure if there be issues if we have to run the package with other scenario's (interfaces/Procedures) that refer agent isntalled in Server-C??
    Any feedbacks are appreciated!!
    Thanks
