ODI11g, Console and Enterprise Manager(EM) integration

Hi all,
I need some information on the integration of ODI Console with Enterprise Manager.
Any links or documents will be helpful.
Thank you

Hello,
For BAM console you need to hit http://hostname:portname/OracleBAM for example http://localhost:9001/OracleBAM
Only IE will support BAM.

  • Using dcmctl and enterprise manager with OracleAS 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi
    I know that in OracleAS 9.0.2 there were problems when you tried to use dcmctl and Enterprise Manager at the same time. Does OracleAS 10.1.2.0.2 has the same problem.

    hello,
    somewhere (i really don't remember where, but it was in the oracle documentation) i'm sure i read that already in 9.0.4 you could use dcmctl when enterprise manager was up. but i've never experienced it and i prefer not to try!!!

    Hi
    Try to increase socket limits
    Normally you can do this within the admin console , Servers -> Configuration -> Tuning -> Socket Readers
    For you, since you can't login, set the ThreadPoolPercentSocketReaders in the config.xml to a higher value than 5
    kind regards
    Michel

  • Oracle 10g and enterprise manager

    Hey;
    I'm obviously fairly new to the oracle arena, just having passed through a number of courses. I seem to have run into two problems with the installation that have me perplexed. Here are the details for one of them:
    I have oracle 10g up and running on an oracle enterprise linux server:
    SQL> select instance_name, status from v$instance;
    INSTANCE_NAME STATUS
    oci1 OPEN
    The listener is up and running and the oci1 database is dynamically registered:
    $ lsnrctl status
    [[snip]]
    Service "oci1" has 1 instance(s).
    Instance "oci1", status READY, has 1 handler(s) for this service...
    [[snip]]
    I started the dbconsole w/ emctl start dbconsole and it seems to be running:
    $ emctl status dbconsole
    TZ set to US/Central
    Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release 10.2.0.1.0
    Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
    http://ocidb1.olearycomputers.com:1158/em/console/aboutApplication
    Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g is running.
    When I hit the web page, though, I'm never presented with a login screen and it says my database is down and that the agent can't connect to the instance. When I examine the log that's referenced in the dbconsole status, I see a number of errors such as:
    2009-06-09 18:37:10,367 [OmsServiceDriver thread] ERROR conn.ConnectionService v
    erifyRepositoryEx.433 - Invalid Connection Pool. ERROR = ORA-01017: invalid user
    name/password; logon denied
    I saw errors in the emoms.log file related to the sysman user so I unlocked the account.
    SQL> select username, account_status
    2 from dba_users
    3 where username = 'SYSMAN';
    USERNAME ACCOUNT_STATUS
    SYSMAN OPEN
    That didn't do the trick because not very long after, the account is relocked:
    SQL> select username, account_status
    2 from dba_users
    3 where username = 'SYSMAN';
    USERNAME ACCOUNT_STATUS

    Hey;
    Thanks again for the response. I tried dropping the repository and got a whole bunch of errors. While attempting to enable the sysman account, I realized that my password contained some characters that have special meaning for oracle and I think that's what was throwing it. The errors with the repository convinced me to try one more reinstall. Bit overkill, perhaps, but that's the whole point of a practice box. Once the database was up and running, teh enterprise manager is fully functional.
    Now that I think about it, I wonder if that password could be responsible for my other schema issue as well...
    Thanks again; I appreciate your time and patience.

  • Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5 64bit and Enterprise Manager 10.2.0.3 Install ?

    Appreciate specific steps to ensure that Oracle Enterprise Manager 10.2.0.3 is installed as baseline for upgrade.
    Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5.2 64bit.
    The major problems are with the Configuration Assistant Web Cache during the Install. It fails with OUI-25031.
    The configToolFailedCommands script contents is:
    oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn

    The root cause of Oracle Grid 10.2.0.3 did not install successfully was because of a Network Configuration Issue. i.e., some strange IP was being referenced over the internet and mapping it to my hostname of my server. I performed a "dig hostname" to see what ip was being associated with my so-called unique hostname. After fixing that problem and removing all of Oracle, I only had one warning with OPMN not starting. I discovered additional rpms that needed to be installed and all is good now until the next opportunity.
    Learned Lesson: Pay Very Careful Attention to all configuration components and document as you go to ensure that you have your process documented.

  • Custom UserManager and Enterprise Manager administration

    Can Enterprise Manager be used to Add/Remove Users and Groups for a Customer UserManager? I remember reading somewhere that Add/Remove only worked for the XML-file based implementations. Now I can't find where I read that.

    Not likely. That is the reason why they published the Apex 2.1 'database management' pages.
    Express Edition doesn't support Java in the database. Enterprise Manager is based on Java. You CAN use Grid Control for some of the stuff, but it's incomplete.

  • Cohost P6R8 and Enterprise Manager ?

    Both these products rely on the Fusion Middleware infrastructure.
    For a small installation, is it possible to leverage the Middleware installation from Oracle Enterprise Manager (12c) to also host EPPM R8 ?
    I'd really prefer to manage only one production instance of Weblogic.

    As a replacement of TOAD you can check SQL Developer (it is free, but lacks many option that can be found in TOAD espacially related to administration tasks).
    It is enought to install database but, if you install Enterprise Manager Console you will have GUI tool for managing your database.

  • Intelligent Agent 8.1.6 and Enterprise Manager 8.1.7

    I installed the Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise Manager on Windows 2000 and want to connect to a database on a Dec-Unix system. My Problem: On the Unix-Server there is installed an 8.1.7 Database, but the 8.1.6 Intelligent Agent. Is it possible, and how can I get the information, wich Agent is running?
    I think, I cannot connect with a never version of Enterprise Manager to an older Agent. Is this correct?

  • OS authentication and enterprise manager

    Hello,
    I have configured my oracle 8i server to use OS authentification (windows NT). How do I have to fill in the prefered credentials to make it work? The only user I've managed to work with is 'internal' but enterprise manager gives the error 'VNI-2015' if I try to export my database with this user. Filling in no user doesn't work

    you can restore the sysman password.
    But you can acess to OEM WITH sys or system username.
    do you need restoring these passwords

    Hello Guys,
    I have installed OEM a million times but just couldn't
    understand your installation process.First did you create New
    user to own the OEM repository with a separate Tablespace and
    created a repository???????
    If you didn't do that just mail me but before you mail me
    uninstall your oracle and I iwll give you a foolproof
    procedure.Hope that will make you smile.

  • Figures in Grid Control and Enterprise Manager Console don't match!

    Hi,
    I have just installed Oracle 10g Grid Control and it is managing an existing database on another server. It appears to gather information as expected in most areas (I can look at the alert log through grid control and it is up to date to the nearest 60 seconds as I expect) but today I looked at how full my undo tablespace is and the figures seemed completely wrong. When looking through grid control it showed me that Undo was 20% full. When I looked in the old java console, it showed it was 30% full!
    Is there any reason why figures in Grid Control would not be accurate or up to date? I have no error messages and it seems to be gathering data fine.
    Is it more likely the old java console is not accurate? (I've always found it accurate in the past I think!).
    These are Solaris Sparc servers, Oracle 10.2.0.3 Grid Control monitoring an Oracle 10.2.0.3 database on a remote server via management agent.
    Thanks,
    Paula

    And this morning my old console says 21%, and the new Grid Control says 14%. So they both seem to be gathering the info and putting it out but they have completely different opinions on how much space is used. I think that makes the whole thing fairly useless. Not so glad I spent an age trying to get grid control set up now!!!
    Any thoughts much appreciated!!!!
    Thanks,
    Paula

  • I want to use EM console and grid manager both

    Hi,
    i installed Oracle 10g with Enterprise console.
    EM via www works.
    Now i wanto to see this instance from a grid Console.
    What to i have to do that is is recognized?
    Anybody doing this?
    Greetings,
    Toni

    I'm not sure (I still haven't tried it) but I think that if you install 10g grid control agent on that machine, it should works. It's available for downloading on OTN.
    Anyway, you can search at the documentation of OEM 10g to check if there's any kind of problems related to install EM agent and dbconsole on the same DB
