ODS - Activation Problem

Hi All,
There are two ODS in our scenario. One Standard and One Custom ODS.
For this standard ODS ( for Region - 1) we performed an Init long before for which the Deltas are running everyday smoothly.
Now we have built a custom ODS for Region - 2 which is extracting from the same datasource.
Before we could actually perform an Init to the custom ODS, the deltas of the Standard ODS have run and due to selection of Update all data targets" in Infopackage, a delta request has come into our custom ODS also.
Before performing an init we deleted all the delta request from the custom ODS
After performing init (Without data transfer) when we tried to activate our init request our custom ODS throws an error msg " ODS Object was built incorrectly." On further help window we found that it asks to upload the Init request of Standard ODS ( Region - 1 ).
Also we tried to delete our init request and create a new init but we are unable to delete the init selection which we created for the custom ODS. When we tried to delete the init request it prompts us to delete all the init request for that datasource.

Hi,
Yes, but some times when you delete a delta loads from the ODS and do some init or full loads it will show ODS was build incorrectly, you can try this option, there wont be any major problem by doing this.

Hi All,
I am facing the problem while activating the request,
"Error getting SID for ODS object xxxx.i know lot of threads are there in forum but those all are taking about while loading the data to ODS,Here i loaded the data into my first ODS(here fine) and then transferring the data to another ODS while activation of Data in second ODS i am getting problem.the second ODS checked the Bex reporting.
If masterdata not existis then it can be a problme in my first ODS but i didn't face any problem in First ODS.First ODS loaded the data from R/3 and second ODS using the datamarts.
Any ideas how to solve this problem.

ODS Activation Problem (with SIDS) BIG PROBLEM !!!

Ok we have a situation in our project but first a few facts: -
1: For ODS we do not use keys but have a infobject that creates a unique ID for each entry with a bit of ABAP in the update rule (yep not very good I know but too many to change now)
2: The SID table keeps growing so we have deleted it four or five times with SE14.
Now I am not sure if these are related to our problem as we have used SE14 before and it hasnt created prolems??
THE PROBLEM
Some of th ODS that use this unique Info Object (we will call this A1) that creates unique entries will not activate with SID creation. It doesn't give much information apart from whatever process A1 is it is returned with errors.
We get the following message
Process 000034 returned with errors (process 34 is the one that tries to get a SID for A1)

Yep right click and delete data then set up new initial etc with very small selection.
Reloaded and exact same error message.
when I check the /BI0/SBBP_OBGUID table it only has one entry whilst the other infoobjects are getting filled in their SID tables so is there any way to sort of kick this table up the butt and reset it or something??

I do think it is somethign to do with the fact that we have used SE14 too many times and it hascaused in consistencies but if you have any ideas how to resync it or somethign it would be great

Data activation problem at ODS

     I am not able to load the purchasing data 2lis_02_scl (init load) in to ODS, Actually I am getting error message at data activation in ODS level.
The error messages are
1. Activation of M records from DataStore object ZP2_PSCL terminated
2. Error during confirmation of process 000001
3. Caller 09 contains an error message.
4. A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage.
5. The material PBG600 does not exist or is not activated

ODS Activation - Background Job in SM37 is still active

Hello Gurus,
When I try to activate an ODS Request, the START button is disabled. Then when I select JOBS button on the same screen, it shows the previous ODS activation job with ACTIVE status. But the previous job is already showing as ready for reporting with no problems. Is there any setting where the START button is enabled after the completion of the background job

Hi,
There is no setting to enable to START button , it will be enabled automatically once the activation job is completed. Did you check if the activation job that was running was for the latest request? You can check this by looking into the job log where the request ID will be available. Sometimes even if the activation job is running in the background, the request in the ODS will still be in green status-not available for reporting and you tend to think that the activation has not started or the activation for the previous request is still running.
First check the request ID in the job log to ensure which request is being activated and if the activation is completed. After this you can either stop the job or let it run based on the situation.

ODS ACTIVATION ERROR IN BI 7.0

Iam Facing the problem in activation of ODS....
When i loaded the data in ODS manually..The data was succesful and activation also ran well...
But when see the same in the processs chain ....Activation of ods is in red...
I repeated it...but still stays in the same red status...and gives the message
ODS ACTIVATION FOR 'ODS NEME' TERMINATE.
This is in BI 7.0...
Can anyone p[lease guide me what is the actual problem...

Error during ODS activation- request deletion

Hello Gurus,
We had a problem during ODS activation, could you please help?
We are on BW 3.1
Activation of an ODS failed with the message, "Fiscal year variant MC is not maintained for calendar year 2009u201D, u201CError getting SID for ODS object ZODS_O02u201D and u201CError when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT table 0FISCPER."
The expected data for 2009 didn't arrive, so the activation step in the proces chain has failed.
What I've done is, just deleted the request from the ODS.
But while this job was running, there was a short dump, and the same job was shown as cancalled under SM37. Though the request was successfully deleted from the ODS, it is showing as cancelled in SM37.
I've given below the log details of the job.

Hi,
As an help i suggest you can first check the corresponding message for the "Message type X" in transaction se91.
Follow the below procedure for the same :
1.Execute ST22 > Double click on any entries
2.Go to Source Code Extract
3.Locate u201C>>>>u201D and you will see Message
i.e Message X041 (XX) in this example.
- XX is the message class
- 041 is the message class no. in the example above.
4.Now open SE91.Enter the details we found from Source
Code extract in ST22.Click Display
5.Find the corresponding message.
May be the message could much more elaborate your problem so it could be handeled properly.

ODS Activation Issue in Prod - Critical

We are in BI 7. We have a huge ods ZXYZ in Prod. It has more than 400 million records. BEx reporting - off.
Over the last weekend some data was added the requests were being activated and there was master data activity in parallel. The ODS activation failed with SYSTEM_EXCEPTION. Unfortunately not investigating the root cause, the ODS activation was resumed and it returned SYSTEM_CANCELED again as there was master data activity going on.
The problem is that request is now partially activated and it became in faulty status. When trying to activate, we get the following error message.

When trying to delete that request which was partially activated, it fails complaining about Faulty status of the ODS.
The problem is we are not moving forward as the request cannot be deleted/activated due to this.
RSODSACTREQ table has Activation status 2 - Activate failed for this request.
Can you experts please advice.

Hi,
I see that your message was not answered and you may not have this issue any more. But for future reference you could refer to note 947481. You might be able to use step 1 from this note to clean the failed request and reload your data.
Hope it will help some day. It did work for us.

Error in ODS Activation

Hi Friends,
I got error when the ODS activating in Process Chain.
The Error Messages are
1. Inconsistent aggregation behavior - activation will be terminated.
2 Activation of M records from DataStore object 0PUR_DS03 terminated
in the data target (ODS) the request are in Red but activated as it is showing Request For Reporting Available flag having Query symbol..means the requests are available for reporting.
What should be the possible reason
How should i rectify it.

I have activated ODS manually yesterday. the chain ran today.
But today i got the below error while data is loading into ODS.

     at and manage termination messages, and you can also
     keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
     A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLRSSM" raised the exception
     condition "NOT_EXIST".
     Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior
     program, processing was terminated.
     Short description of exception condition:
For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use
Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called
function module from the display of active calls.

ODS ACTIVATION Failure frequently......

We r loading data from ods to cube , but ODS activation process for 3 ods is happening parallely.
This ods activation failed sequence two times , but in logs error mesgs
are "Activation of data records from ods object terminated,Qm status is in not green before ODS activation"
we are loading approx 10,000 records
The chain is like this
          START
ODS1          ODS2          ODS3   à these 3 ODS are Parallel

CUBE1     CUBE2     CUBE3
Can anyone tell me what might be the reasonfor failuring frequently.. this is a monthly chain

1) I said "conflicting" because I thought you were loading all data to ONE ODS.. so I thought they might have some "locking" problem..But since u had confirmed me that 3 different ODSs.. this is out of scope for us..I am taking back my words..
I do not see "technically" issue with Process chain design as all are 3 different tables now..
It has a techincal issue, if you are loading 3 ODS parallely and Activating all 3 ODSs at a time..
in the above scenario.. say ODS1 completed 1st and it tries to start the Activation node..( which tries to activate ODS2 and 3 also..) but still 2 and 3 are loading.. can lead to the mentioned error..
generally.. if u schedule too many parallel jobs at a time it will occupy all available system resources and can lead to some ewrrors..

ODS activation failures after new hardware installation..urgent

Hi All,
I am working in PRD.There are 10 process chains which i need to monitor daily.Daily ODS activation fails in 4 of the 10 chains.The error message for two of the failures are,
Task 0040 during SID specification without confirmation
and for another process it is showing "DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR" error.
manually I am doing steps and the activation is successful.These type of errors we are getting after the new hardware installation.
Could anyone let me know are there any patches to be applied inorder to avoid such type of errors.
Please advice me what to do.

What is the patch your currently on at the moment.
It could also be some of the settings in RZ11 have been changed. You need to work with your basis people to resolve this.
DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR is a common problem and usually due to not enough processor's available and the database gettings into a knot.
Check SM21 and ST22 for the more information on the issue.

ODS activation process random error in process chain

Dear All,
In my process chains, the process of ODS activation is sometimes in error. It is a random error, it is not always the same ODS and process chain.
The message error is DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR.
I noticed that, on right-clic -> Change variant to the process of ODS activation, I have the following message:
"Not all infoobjects can be read".
For information, in the processes of activation of the ODS, the unique parameter is the name of the ODS to be activated.

Reason and Prerequisites
In SAP BW, there are two fact tables for including transaction data for Basis InfoCubes: The F and the E fact table.
Unlike the E fact table, the F fact table contains the information about the request from where the transaction data originates.
Therefore, transaction data is always written to the F fact table and the package dimension contains the request to which the loaded data belongs.
Using 'Request compression', the system reads the data of a request from the F fact table and writes it to the E fact table without request ID and compresses.
For good reporting performance, you must keep only the data of a few requests in the F fact table since the F fact table is partitioned according to the key of the package dimension and the data of all requests is always read. Therefore, you should compress the request if you are sure that the loaded data is correct and that you no longer have to delete the request.
When you install BW on an ORACLE database, BITMAP indexes are created on the fact tables to improve the reporting performance of the system.
These have a negative effect on the performance when loading data and the deadlock mentioned above (ORA 60) may occur as a result. The DEADLOCKs occur during parallel insert operations because ORACLE does not support a blocking concept for BITMAP indexes at data record level.
Solution
Before loading movement data, delete secondary indexes from the F fact table and create them again after the loading process. If the F fact table is small, no performance problems occur.
Alternatively, you can also load requests serially into InfoCubes by first loading the data only into the Persistent Staging Area (PSA) and then serially into the InfoCube. If you use the data transfer process (DTP) for loading in BW 7.0, this option is no longer available.
NOTE
This avoids the deadlock problem. However, you should note that after some loading processes, it is necessary to reorganize the BITMAP indexes because they degenerate very heavily and, therefore, the read and writing performance deteriorates dramatically.

ABAP/4 processor: RAISE_EXCEPTION error while ODS Activation

Hi all,
We are facing the problem with ODS Activation.
While ODS activation, we are getting error - "ABAP/4 processor: RAISE_EXCEPTION" very frequently .
Could anybody please guide me why this error happened and how we can recover this error and is there any precautions to avoid this error.
