Ods and odssm schemas missing in oracle db 11.2.0.1 installation.

Hi,
I'm trying to install webcenter suite installation on windows 2008 R2 server.
As a starting point installed oracle db 11.2.0.1
As a second step, tried to run rcu script and found that the ODS and ODSSM schemas are not created as a part of the installation.
Any idea why they are not created or how they can be created?
Thanks,
Raam.

This might help

  • ODS/ODSSM schema creation

    We have been working with OIAM 11g for a few years now with great success.  This is our first install on Centos6.4 and it's on AWS.
    We have never had an issue running the installs and having ODS or ODSSM get created, but this time on CentOS 6.4 -- and that may have nothing to do with it -- the schemas are not created.  So when we go to configure IDM, the config.sh cannot connect to the ODS schema because it wasn't created.
    Which begs the question -- where should I expect the ODS and ODSSM schemas to be created?   We run RCU to create the OID schema -- where I would expect this to occur -- but there are no errors in the RCU logs indicating that or why ODS and ODSSM were not created.
    Any ideas?

    You did not specify which version. Assuming you are using Oracle Identity Management 11gR2 11.1.2.1.0
    Red Hat EL 6 (UL1+) is supported. Please note this is 64 bit version. So CentOS 6.4 should be fine, make sure it is 64 bit.
    Here is the link to Certification matrix for 11.1.2.1.0
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/id-mgmt/identity-accessmgmt-certmatrix-1932870.xls
    Also make sure you are using below JDK versions
    Supported JDK for Red Hat EL 6(UL1+)
    Oracle JDK 1.6.0_35+
    JRockit 6 Update 37 R28.2.5+
    Oracle JDK 1.7.0_07+
    You can run RCU again, and check the various schema installed when the GUI screen for schema selection shows up.
    If ODS and ODSSM schema are not selected, you can select this time. The schema which are already installed will show up as greyed out. Let us know what the status of ODS and ODSSM show up.

  • Error Missing class:  oracle.dms.instrument.ExecutionContextForJDBCDependen

    I downloaded Oracle SQL Developer 1.5 for Windows from the Oracle website and installed it on my computer. This zip file includes the JDK1.5.0_06. Then I ran Help | Check For Updates. This installed JTDS JDBC Driver 11.1.1.5304 and MySQL JDBC Driver 11.1.1.5304. I am trying to create a new database connection. Below are my settings.
    Connection Name = TEST
    Username = <the schema name>
    Password = <the password>
    Save Password = unchecked
    Role = default
    Connection Type = TNS
    OS Authentication = unchecked
    Proxy Connection = unchecked
    Network Alias = <alias from tnsnames.ora>
    When I click the [Connect] button I get the following message:
    Status : Failure - Test failed: Missing class: oracle.dms.instrument.ExecutionContextForJDBCDependent class: oracle.jdbc.driver.Physica...
    Any help on resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thanks also!!!
    NB ... path for sql dev must be one's own local path ... I copied from this OTN board ... and ... it didn't work.
    When I went to try again, step by step, from a DOS prompt, I realized ... duh ... the path ...
    But it is odd ... it wants its own JDBC class stuff ... why can't it find it when you put it on a short cut with a "start in" directory as itself?
    Sometimes I hate computers ...
    (I upgraded because my older version "just refused" to run one day ... had been meaning to try newer version)

  • Upraded Sql Developer and can't connect to Oracle

    I just updated to the Dec 2009 release and now I can't connect
    When I click the plus or right click on Connections and select "New Connection" nothing happens.
    If I monitor processes in task manager it shows a brief spike in cpus and a small increase in memory usage but nothing happens in the app.
    I also noticed that when I close the application it does not leave memory. I have to kill the process via the task manager to get rid of it.
    If I go back to version 1.5.1 it works fine. It also leaves memory when terminated
    Using winxp r3.

    Hi,
    actually you increment the index
    pstmt.setString(++idx,inrecord.getCommentID());
    which means you never have an index of 0 but always start with 1

  • Using archivelog and control file from other Oracle server

    I am still bothered with my backup process.
    I have 2 AIX boxes (same model, say A and B); both have BAAN 5 and Oracle 10g R2 on. Right now my colleague insists to use the export pump (cold backup) from Prod Oracle server (A) to restore the Oracle server on Box B. The Prod server has the archivelog mode turn on. But it will miss any transaction data from import pump till the crash point of Box A. So this is my confusion.
    Can I pass the control files and archivelog files form Box A (prod server) to Box B and use them to restore the Box B as the latest Prod server? How?
    I tried to convince them to use the RMAN backup? But not successful?
    I think the best way is probably to use the Oracle Data guard. However, there is always one concern to my manager and colleague, that such process will cause the data on the restored server (failover, Box B) not recognizable by the BAAN, which define the objects (tables).
    Thanks

    Performing a logical backup is not useful to restore to the point of failure. The only valid and available option is a hot backup/archivelog mode. Your recovery manager backup perform a controlfile and redologfile backup, so those can be restored at the destination. You must take care of the way you perform the backup, and ensure the paths where your backup is being deposited are visible by the second node. A shared storage with same mount points is suitable in this case. A tape robot configured at both nodes is also a suitable solution.
    Recovery manager perfoms a controlfile and spfile restore, too. This rman command perform the action:
    SET DBID <DBID of the database,for which you want to restore the controlfile>;
    RESTORE CONTROLFILE FROM <name_of_backupiece_which_contains_the_controlfile backup>';
    I don't see any problem on the recovery manager side, and technically speaking, on the Oracle side it is perfectly possible to restore your database at a remote location. I don't know what happens on the BAAN side, if you are required to have it configured to be operative on the target node. You could try to clone your database at the node B, configure BAAN and prepare the proceduere in case of failure.
    Configuring a dataguard is also a recomended action. So it is to think about Cold Failed Over clusters. I have recently performed a CFC configuration with BAAN. No problem it works smoothly.

  • Context,Physical schema and Logical schema

    Hi,
    How the context,physical schema,logical schema and agent are interrelated.
    Please explain
    Thanks
    Jack

    Hi Jack,
    Context:
    A context is a set of resources allowing the operation or simulation of one or more data processing applications. Contexts allow the same jobs (Reverse, Data Quality Control, Package, etc) to be executed on different databases and/or schemas.
    Its used to run the object(process) in different database.
    Physical Schema:
    The physical schema is a decomposition of the data server, allowing the Datastores (tables, files, etc) to be classified. Objects stored in data servers with this mode of classification can be accessed by specifying the name of the schema attached to the object name.
    Ex
    Oracle classifies its tables by "schema" (or User). Each table is linked to a schema, thus SCOTT.EMP represents the table EMP in the schema SCOTT.
    Logical schema:
    A logical schema is an alias that allows a unique name to be given to all the physical schemas containing the same datastore structures.
    ->The aim of the logical schema is to ensure the portability of the procedures and models on the different physical schemas. In this way, all developments in ODI Designer are carried out exclusively on logical schemas.
    Thanks

  • What is another schema name in oracle 1z0-051 exam ?

    hi all
    i want to prepare oracle 1z0-051 , i study SQL tutorial (HR schema) , and i have seen some  questions. but some of tables is like (sales , customers ,promotion ...ets)
    What are the schemas in this exam ? by the way all samples schema install in my database
    and thx advace

    In the exam you will get the snippet of the code that includes table structure and may be data in some tables in some questions. But every time they are different. so my advice is that you need to understand how to read a table definition and interpret. dont just mug up the things. Go to oracle documentation and read and try get the concept right.
    I followed the book 'Oracle 11g- SQL Fundamental Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-051)' it nearly covered all the topics and have good examples at the end of the chapter. happy studying.

  • How to connect sql developer OE schema and Hr schema,

    Hi ,
    I downloaded Oracle 10g express edition and SQL developer downloaded in my computer, I don't know how to connect to OE and HR schema, by default the SQL developer and Oracle 10g has only sytem and sys database. And as well I wanted to migrate datas from third party datas , could anyone please , pllease guide me. I am new to this field and just started to learn. what is listener and how to activate Listener and Repositary
    Please guide me.
    Thanks in advance
    Chan

    The HR schema installs fine in XE, but the OE schema doesn't quite. I've done it, but there will be errors. The reason is that the OE schema uses some features of XML DB that are not supported in XE. If you want to use the OE schema in XE and you don't mind if it isn't a complete OE schema, then you can get the installation scripts from an Oracle SE or EE installation.
    You can also get it from the companion disk for Oracle SE or EE, but this is a bit challenging, because you can't get it by running OUI unless you first install Oracle SE or EE. You need to run an archive utility like WinZip or 7-Zip and look for the scripts inside a compressed file - I forget which one, but I'll look it up if you like. Oh, and since the OE schema isn't really supposed to be installed on XE, Oracle does not support any of the methods for putting it there.

    To start with, since you do not wish to keep multiple rows with same values, why allow them to get inserted in the first place?
    Wouldn't it be easier to block duplicate rows from inserting by creating a Unique constraint on Column(s) that define a row as duplicate, then rather deleting duplicate rows periodically?
    For deleting duplicate rows, there are N number of techniques available. Always remember, you need to have a rigid criteria that marks row as duplicate.
