ODS error

Hi all,
Iam getting error while activating ods.
error is - your client is not defined.
due to this ods is not activated.
but iam creating info cubes with the same client.
iam not getting any errors.
iam facing errors only when iam activating ods.
iam enable to understand the error.
so pleasehelp me in forward.

go to your source systemselect your source system(myself bw system). context menucheckif it's activated means no problemotherwiseright click it-select restoreit will ask restore and activatego with it--it will take some time to install. then check it out.
if your extracting from r/3 means check that particular source system and check it out.

Go to Infosources , in the Menu Bar you can find Settings --> Display Generated Objects --> Show all Generated Objects . Select this and refresh the Entire Screen for Infosources, Then press Cntrl + F , to search your Data mart 8(Techname of ODS ) .
Note : all this applies only if your Myself system is properly connected, So just Goto Source Systems and Check the Connection for your BW System which is indicated with as Myself Connection .

While loading data in to ODS error?

Hi,
I trying to load CRM datasource in to BI system with ODS.Which i use ODS was relaesed bi BI connect. when i load data from source to ODS...data was transfered up to PSA but failed in "SUB-PROCESSING AREA" with errors as follow:
1)Value of 'M'of characteristic 0DATE is not a number with 000008 spaces.
2)No SID found for value'*000'of charatristic 0currency.
3)Error when assigning SID:Action VAL_SID_CONVERTtable0CRM_EXCDAT.
4)process000108returend with error
5)process 000008 returned with error.
Please advice to reslove this issue.

Hi,
1. Date values are not with 8 digits like 20112007, bocz of that its showing this error correct the date values to aviod this error.
2. there is no value in 0currency info object as *000, that is why at the time of activation its showing this error, correct the value here to avoid error.
3. check is this info object 0CRM_EXCDAT is active or not.

Error in transporting ODS(Error when creating the export DataSource.......)

Hi All,
 When I try to transport ODS from dev to quality i m getting the following error.
DataSource 8XADDR1 does not exist in source system BQ1CLNT355 of version A
Error when creating the export DataSource and dependent Objects
Error when activating ODS Object XADDR1

 XADDR1 is my ODS. BQ1CLNT355 is myself source system. When i checked the connection in the source system tab in Quality,it is ok.
Please Suggest solution,if any body encountered same problem. It is very urgent for me.

Replicate your source system in qual and then try to transport the ODS and the datamart object 8ODS ....

ODS error in production, job failed what to do now ?

I have a sales ods and there is no more space in it and the data is there in the psa and the job is abend because there is no more space for the new records in the DSO. Can anybody suggest something, its in production and live data. What are my options now ? How to check the space of the internal tables in ODS & CUBE to know that they have reached the red alert ...like less space in them/ How can we find that out ?

If you are looking for automatic alerts for the job failures, Process Chain status, Its very much possible by the usage of solman. But related to ODS and Internal Tables i don't think you have an solution ready at first place.

ODS Installation from BC Error

Hi,
We are trying to install ODS 0PY_PP_C1 from Business content. It gives me following errors .
1. "Error while Creating Export DataSource and dependent Objects"
2. "Data source 80PY_PP_C1 not maintained in BWSYSTEMNAME version A."
And we have tried with generating custom ODS as well ,but was not successful.(Same Error Messages)
We feel that somewhere there is default system setting, and system is taking source system as bw system itself instead of R/3 . So its trying to create export data source. But Generation of export datasource is not needed in our scenario.
Please let us know how do we solve above said issues.

base on that note, the activation error coz dependent object(s)-infoobjects not active, to eliminate the error we have to first have all the objects active. you may try in business content installation, collection mode 'manual', put 0CFM_O01, grouping 'only necessary objects', right click 0CFM_O01 and choose 'install all below' then 'install'. hope this helps.

Data Federator ODS Problem

Hi All,
I´m building a scenario in SAP BO Data Federator where we connect to a table in BW (ODS) and with a jdbc connector we get the data to build a universe in UniDesigner.
The problem is that the data returned by data federator doesnt match the data in BW, we always get less records in Data Federator when we perfom the query in data federator query tool.
Can anyone give a clue whats happening and where to start looking? we already did a trace in BW (ST05) and the SQL statement seems to be right.

For Goodwill Data two indices are created which are completely identical. This leads to an error. How to solve this problem?

have you checked the keys of the ODS...chaeck if it's any fields are empty...if yes then it is not possible to activate it.....all the key fields of the ODS should be populated.

Activate ODS

Hi All
I made the mistake of removing the BEX Reporting indicator from an ODS because the reports were being run off a Multiprovider rather than the ODS I thought this would improve load performance. There are roughly 12m records that we've split up into a number of loads by fiscal years and each year into a number of periods. Data is active.
However I now can't run the reports off the MP because the ODS isn't set up for BEX Reporting. I've added back the BEX reporting indicator but when I try to activate the changes on the ODS maintenance screen the process is timing out.
When I check the ODS after adding back the indicator I'm getting an Amber warning (which I understand) that because the SID's now have to be created runtime might take a long time so run the job in the background. Ive set up the job using SM36, monitored it in SM37 and the background job is released and finishes but the ODS still isn't activated. Basis reran the DB02 Stats and DB13. Is there something I'm missing?
Won't make this mistake again and will only switch this off if the ODS is subsequently loading a cube!

Activation progress.
Hi,
There are a couple of places where you can see the activation progress.
1) To start with SM37 job log > (give BI_PROCESS_ODSACTIVAT or BI_ODSA*)
and it should give you the details about the activation job. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals. If its completed check the log for ODS activation.
2) For very huge number of records SM37 job log may not get update frequently. In that case you have a workaround.
Go to contents > Active Data table > No. of entries > This will keep on increasing at frequent intervals.
3) SM66 > Get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
4) Go to Activate button in Target > Request tab. Inside you can see a job log button. It will also show some log regarding the last activation.
5) If the Reporting icon has appeared near the request id in ODS. If it appears that may indicate that request is available for reporting
6) Check the request status in these tables.
Table RSICCONT table contains the requests that are actually loaded in a target.
Table RSMONICDP contains the request id of the fact table.
Table RSODSACTREQ contains information if an ODS is available for reporting/deleting inactive requests also possible.
Table RSODSACTUPDTYPE.
Check OSS Notes 494639 & 595104 (if they are applicable to your system)

ODS activation errors
Activations are VERY IO intensive.
Here is a list of ODS Error codes from table rsodsacstreq via SE16:
0 = Activation Completed
1 = Update Failed
2 = Activate Failed
3 = Rollback Failed
4 = RFC Started
5 = RFC Error
6 = RFC Completed
9 = System Error
status 4 and 5 are for RFC Started and RFC Completed with Error. It usually happens because of your aRFC hold that means your job is waiting for the completion of dependent activation,varify that in sm12.
For checking it in more detail goto se16 and check table rsodsactreq. Give your request number and watch it carefully during the activation of ODS.
1. Check if there is any lock entry for the same DSO. Use t-code sm12.
2. Run RSRV check on the DSO, it could be an SID problem. If you found so repair it.
3. Activate the DSO object fields with the help of program RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE.
T.code RSCUSTA2 . Here you can change the no.of records and no.of processes to use for activation job with this you can increase your ODS activation process, here the no.of processes can be increased based on no.of processes available in your server, check in SM50 or SM51.
Runtime parameters of DataStore objects
To improve performance when processing data in the DataStore object, you can make a number of settings for each DataStore object in the runtime parameters or maintain general default values for DataStore objects. You navigate to runtime parameter maintenance either in Customizing by choosing SAP Customizing Implementation Guide ® SAP NetWeaver ® Business Intelligence ® Performance Settings ® Maintain Runtime Parameters of DataStore Objects or in the Administration area of the Data Warehousing Workbench by choosing Current Settings ® DataStore Objects.
You can define the following:
Parameters for activation:
○ The minimum number of data records for each data package when the data in the DataStore object is activated. In this way, you define the size of the data packages that are activated.
○ The maximum wait time in seconds when data in the DataStore object is activated. This is the time that the main process (batch process) waits for the split process before it determines that it has failed.
Parameters for SID generation:
○ Minimum number of data records for each data package when SIDs are generated in the DataStore object.
○ Maximum wait time in seconds when SIDs are generated in the DataStore object.
Parameters for rollback:
○ Maximum wait time in seconds for rollback in the DataStore object.
Process parameters:
○ Type of processing: serial, parallel (batch), parallel (dialog)
○ Maximum number of parallel processes
○ Server group to be used for parallel processing of data in DataStore objects. You have to create the server groups first using the following path: SAP Easy Access ® Tools ® Administration ® Network ® RFC Destination, RFC ® RFC Groups. If you do not specify anything here, processing runs on the server on which the batch activation process was started. If a server in the server group is not active, processing is terminated.

Can't activate ODS because of the older request..

Hi All,
I loaded delta from PSA to ODS, but I can not activate it in ODS, error is 'Request xxxx (12345) has not or not correctly been updated. Please edit'. The point is that there is an older request that was loaded to ODS (I can't say if it was activated or not). I checked for this old request number in the change log and it is not there.
Where can I find it if it is not in the Change log?
