ODS Failed

I'm working in BW 3.1c,
Failure: I got an ODS failure Issue. The load is a full load,the loading was successful, but only the ODS activation got failed.
Error Message:
Request xxxxxxx, data package 000001 incorrect with status 5 rsodsacstreq
Request xxxxxxx,data package 000001 not correct
Inserted records 1-;Changed records 1-,Deleted records 1-
No confirmation for request XXXXXXXXXXXX when activating the ODS object XXXx
Error while exporting data
Steps Taken:
I manually activated it ,but it again failed.
I treiggered the load again,but it again failed in the ODS activation step.
We did runstats and table re-org and then triggered the load , but it failed in ODS activation
Please help me in this issue

Hi Kicha,
Error 5 in table RSODSACTREQ (error RSMPC 128) means that there was an error during an rfc-call in the activation.
The problem is often temporary like no resources available. Normally you can find further information in sm21 or st22 at the time
of activation.
The solution is simply to restart the activation of the particular request.

Activation of ODS fails

When manually activating ODS Data from the target the process is failing. This is confirmed in (SM37) and in ST22.
When we run the "Check how up to date the generated programs of an ODS are from (RSRV) the results (without the option of a correct button) is saying
> Activation program is not current,

> Lines in temporary program :L_S_chgdata type /bic/b0002712000,
> Lines in active program L_S_chgdata type /bic/b0002714000,
> Activation program has to be generated again.
We have tried to force activation using (RSODSACT1) but get a similar reference to the messages in RSRV and have used (RSODSACRREQ) which shows our request has a status of 0 which is inferring the request has been activated??
In the end our request is green in the data target and the load monitor but remains inactive and is not available for reporting. Does anyone have any suggestions to help?

Thanks to all for your responses, we have solved the problem.
For completeness of the thread:-
Per my earlier posting the load status via manage the data target is green but the data is not available for reporting we can also see the new data in the ODS Table
The load monitor technical status is also green and indicates that the data requires manual activation
When we tried to manually activate the data in the target the process fails but the load remains green
(SM37) indicates that load activation was cancelled stating the reasons given in earlier postings.

Thanks for your responses, yours was the most help.
Resolution:
We effectively added a new field to the ODS then checked, saved and activated the ODS; watching the system talk in the bottom left confirmed that the program stated in the error messages was regenerated. We were also lucky in that the problem was in or DEV client so we could empty the ODS, reload it and the regenerated program enabled the activation to complete with no errors. We removed the dummy field and checked, saved and activated it again before transporting it to QAS. Not perfect but it worked.

Activation of ODS fails: Change-Log Request ODSR_... does not exist in ODS

Hello Experts,
I have a problem loading in an ODS object in Release BW 3.5. This load is in parallel to loading in a Cube and InfoObjects from 10 different SAP sources monthly.
Everytime, I load data, Activation fails. The Error message is "Change-Log Request ODSR_... does not exist in ODS ..." These Requests (30 requests) are very old starting with the Go-Live date of the application in 2005. If I search for the first Request in Reconstruct, a request without a InfoPackage-Name is found and if I reconstruct the request, all other new loaded Request are activated and everything is fine. The next month, the same error appears, but without the one old request in the list reconstructed the month before of course.
A few months before I had to repair loading and deleted also requests in the ODS. Then I realized my mistake, that reconstruction is not possible, because the request was gone in the reconstruction list. So I searched for the PSA Request in the ODS reconstruction list, found the requests and reconstructed these. Could this be the reason for my current problem?
But how can I stop this error? Reconstructing all of the requests did not work, because one request says, no active update rules exist for this request. So I stopped reconstructing every request of the long list.
Please help me, I could not find any helpful information until now ...

Hi,
For the old requests that you don't want and that are not valid, goto the monitor for those and mark them red. After that you won't face any problems while activating the new requests.
The reason this is happening is that during activation BW thinks that these old requests are valid as they are green and tries to activate them as they are in squence. When it dosen't find them then it gives the error. If you mark them red, they are ignored and the next request is taken into consideration.

Load to ODS failed from flat file

Hi Gurus,
We have 4 flat files to be loaded in the ODS.And this ODS is giving the data as an delta to upper ODS. 3 got loaded correctly.But the 4th load was taking too much time.In RSMO request was Yellow for a long time.After some time Request became Red giving an error as follows.
Processing in Warehouse timed out; processing steps mising
Diagnosis
Processing the request in the BW system is taking a long time and the processing step Update rules has still not been executed.
System response
<DS:DE.RSCALLER>Caller is still missing.
Procedure
Check in the process overview in the BW system whether processes are running in the BW system under the background user.
If this is not the case, check the short dump overview in the BW system.
Can anyone explain me what is the meaning of this error ?
As a corrective action., I tried to reconstruct the request from PSA, but reconstruction also failed.But the PC turned to GREEN and got completed.i.e. Data Mart Status set for these 3 requests.
Now this request is showing status as RED in the Manage Tab And it has 3 successfully loaded requests above it.
I want to have this 4th request to get updated in lower ODS and also delta to be pushed in to upper ODS.
Kindly tell me what should I do?

Hi,
Go to Details tab in monitoring.
Just check for any packages are in yellow.
If any package i yellow then right click and take the Update manually option for that package only.
Or else you have to delete the request from the target and make the request in to red in monitor under Status tab.
Now you can try to load the data.
This is because of IDocs not processed successfully.

Flat file data upload to ODS failed

Hi guys,
While loading the flat file data to ODS, it gets fails immediately without loading single record. Error message shows ::
" Error when opening the data file <file name> (origin A)."
"Error in the data request"
"Error occurred in the data selection"
I am trying to load the data manually thru Infopackage and file is lying in the Application Server and full access given to it. But the important part is when we try to load the file again without doing any changes, it run fine and loads the data without any issues. This happens with every load & everyday.
Any solutions?

Deletion ODS failed

Hi!
I'm trying to delete an ODS completely. This fails with a message that describes an info object is still in use in a communication structure.
The content of the ODS has been deleted before successfully, no update rules towards the ODS nor any update rule to receiving objects do exist anymore.
Has anybody an idea what the problem is?

Hi,
I think Rohit is right.
Your ODS has an export datasource 8<ODSNAME> and used for another data target load. There are transfer rules and communication structure for this load, maybe even data target and update rules in it.
Try to locate all chain segements of the dataflow:
Make sure that in menu Settings-Dispaly generated objects you set 'Show generated ODS objects'.
In RSA1, Infosources area, try to find 8<ODSNAME> datasource under the Datamarts node. Under the DS you'll see Source System, and under it - Infopackage(s). Right click on the package - schedule. In the opened Scheduler goto 'Data targets' tab and look at data targets names.
Goto Infoprovider area to the data target(s). Make sure that this data target may be deleted or changed. At least you have to delete the target content and remove the IO from the target.
Go back to your 8<ODSNAME> datasource and delete it.
After that you'll be able to delete your ODS.

URGENT: Initialisation load to ODS failed

Hi,
In both scenarios you need to delete the failed init and reload.
Not just deleting from target but in Infopackage level.
InfoPackage > Scheduler > Initialization options for soucre system. Here you have to delete the init request already loaded.
Init without data transfer is useful when you want to initiliaze the data transfer process, but dont want to transfer all the data in one go, because may be you are dealing with a huge volume of data. So you can init without the data transfer and later do selective full loads...very useful for increasing perf when loading from an ODS to a Cube as the full load takes from the Active data table of the ODS.
Also in scnearios where you are having delta running and due to some reason you need to reinit you go for init without data transfer.

Init with Data transfer will load a huge volume of data.
As we need to stop the postings in R3 during this activity it will lead to a big downtime if we give this and load all the data in one shot.
Yes you need to stop postings in R/3 during init.
Else it may create an issue.

Activation of ODS failed ( error brain 60)

Hi,
Data is loaded with status green in ODS.But during activation of ODS,it gives message for one of the characteristics :
1.Value 'RFI 773371 NAT ' (hex. '52464920373733333731204E4154A0A0A0A0A0 ') of characteristic ZABC contains invalid (BRAIN60)
2.Error when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT table ZABC
Info Object 'ZABC' is gettin only transaction data.(No master/text table created)
No error records are shown up in PSA.

The string you provided contains ivalid symbol. They are not acceptable by ODS. You need to remove or replace them.

Load to ods failed

Hi Experts,
I have one ODS where we load delta from source(R/3),now I have deleted last request from the ODS and when I am doing Full repair to ods it is not getting any data from source system ...since 2 hours it is showing 0 records...is it because I deleted last delta??

Probably your load is still running in R/3 system.
In RSMO under your request go to the menu:
Environment->Job Overview->In the source system
There you can check if your job is active, finished or cancelled.
If is active click on the glasses icon, display (F5) and click then on job details (F7).
Memorize the executing server parameter name and WP number.
Now go to transaction sm51 in your R/3 system and double click on your server name you've seen before. Check the WP number activity to see what is being done.
It is taking too much time probably because your full load don't have any restrictions or have few of them, and all the data will be brought from R/3 system.

I am running the a process chain and during the process, activation of data in ODS fails with error 9.
any suggestions to correct the issue?

Hi,
open the Process Chain if the load is through PC.
right click on the failed task and click repeat.
in the pop-up window leave the seconds field blank and click continue
you can find the activation has started again.
this muct help resolve your issue.

Error while activating ODS Object

-Error when assigning SID (details in long text)

I could see that Calendar Quarter as 20060 in PSA. How should i get rid of this error. Any idea would be appreciated.

you are getting this calender qurter from SAP right... check in RSA3 fro the your Datasource. if you are getting same value like '20060'. you can do one thing... you can set 'No Update' in Transfer Rules. you can write a routine in Update Rules for populating the data for calender Week.
you can call some standard function modules or you can write a small routine. If you want to write a routine check this thread...Re: Date to Quarter

Error during ODS activation- request deletion

Hello Gurus,
We had a problem during ODS activation, could you please help?
We are on BW 3.1
Activation of an ODS failed with the message, "Fiscal year variant MC is not maintained for calendar year 2009u201D, u201CError getting SID for ODS object ZODS_O02u201D and u201CError when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT table 0FISCPER."
The expected data for 2009 didn't arrive, so the activation step in the proces chain has failed.
What I've done is, just deleted the request from the ODS.
But while this job was running, there was a short dump, and the same job was shown as cancalled under SM37. Though the request was successfully deleted from the ODS, it is showing as cancelled in SM37.
I've given below the log details of the job.
Job started
Step 001 started (program RSDELPART1, variant &0000000003334, user ID ABCD)
Delete running: ODS object ZODS_O02, from 310,818 to 310,818
Delete is scheduled; Selection conditions were substituted

Could you please clarify the reason for the short dump and for the job getting cancelled?

Hi,
As an help i suggest you can first check the corresponding message for the "Message type X" in transaction se91.
Follow the below procedure for the same :
1.Execute ST22 > Double click on any entries
2.Go to Source Code Extract
3.Locate u201C>>>>u201D and you will see Message
i.e Message X041 (XX) in this example.
- XX is the message class
- 041 is the message class no. in the example above.
4.Now open SE91.Enter the details we found from Source
Code extract in ST22.Click Display
5.Find the corresponding message.
May be the message could much more elaborate your problem so it could be handeled properly.

Urgent: Data Load Failure

Hi,
Delta from cube to ODS failed. It gives following error:
DataSource 8SL_ODS5 has to be replicated (time stamp, see long text) @35@
DataSource 8SL_ODS5 has to be replicated (time stamp, see long text)
Message no. R3016
Diagnosis
DataSource 8SL_ODS5 does not have the same status as the source system in the Business Information Warehouse.
The time stamp in the source system is 17.11.2006 11:23:08.
The time stamp in the BW system is 25.03.2006 22:01:19.
System response
The load process has been terminated.
Procedure
Copy the DataSource again and then activate the transfer rules that belong to it. You have to activate the transfer rules in every case, even if they are still active after the DataSource has been copied.
How should i solve it? I mean wat data source to copy

Once you are done with the replications & activatation or export data source.
Try running the delta it might ask you for repeat delta.
If not check the no of records transfered. If you get 0 then the data mart status of the Recent request in the ODS that was supposed to go in will be checked. Now delete that data mart status and try the delta again. It should bring the records in.
Or if you get all the records then you're fine... No need to dele the data mart or anything.

Process chain automate trigger

i have one process chain , it contains around 10 process types. in third process i got fail, for example ods activation failure, then i activated manually . but from next process onwards it should trigger automatically how it is? there is any function module programmme or no? if it is there what is that
