OE links will not o[en Firefox and locks up OE. It worked up to yesterday. Followed all instructions I could find and nothing works.

Ever since I've been using Firefox I have never had a problem following links with Outlook Express. Now when I click on a link Firefox does not open (nor does Firefox respond even if browser is open). OE locks up and I have to close it and then I get error msg "program is not responding". I found hints about making sure Firefox is default browser and setting program defaults from control panel. I have not found anything that would cause it to begin working normally. I did go so far as making IE the default and the links then work from OE.

EDIT - Now that it's fixed, I shall remove my negative comments where I can. Oddly, the final reset fixed it...

I also have this problem. I cannot open links from a discussion board I frequent nor can I open links from my email. Also after opening my email, I cannot go to any other sites except my home page. I can then go no where else.
When I close Firefox and try to reopen it, it does nothing! I have to bring up the Task Manager and end the Firefox process before I can get back in.

Apple Mail links will not open in Firefox. The address bar and page are blank.

I have just upgraded Firefox to version 4.0 and when I receive an email with a link in it, the link will not work. Firefox will load but the page is blank and the web address bar will sometimes show the link and sometimes not. If I cut and paste the address from the email it will not work.

In mail.app preferences there is a setting for RSS that lets one choose which program is the default RSS reader. Whichever program is set to be the default RSS reader is used by mail.app to open any urls in mail messages.
I really like my Mac but this is the most un-userfriendly, un-"it just works" thing I've run across in the 23 years I've been using Macintosh...

Incredimail Links will not open in Firefox, how can I fix this?

E-mail links in Incredimail (secondary client)
When I click a link in Incredimail nothing happens if'f Firefox is set as my default browser; whether FF is already open or not. 
If another browser (i.e. Chrome, Opera, Idiot Explorer) is set as default, the links work fine.
Issue started with FF22. Worked OK with older versions.
Links in Thunderbird (default [work] client {whether default or not}) operate properly at all times.
Links in Incredimail (personal client) work unless FF is default. makes no difference if InM is temporarily set as default.
Can I add other tags to this question? i.e. Incredimail, links

I got the links to work. But it's aggravating, first time. 
Need to open Incredimail as a sub-process of Firefox.
From the FF "File" menu, select "Open file" .
Then locate the "Icmail.exe" file and select it. Please note that FF may or may not open the file automatically. 
If it does not, then click "save file" (in original location) and overwrite existing file. Next Click "Tools" , "Downloads" and open from there. Links will now work. Use last step next time.

Why can I download Gmail to my mac's mail - but I can not send? I have followed all instructions I can find but it still won't send. Any thoughts?

I have a strong desire to use the native apps on my Mac for mail and calendar - but my new position is using Gmail.
I can send mail and calendar works fine - but I can not send mail. I have followed all the directions and still can't see to get it to work.
Is there a step I am missing? Has anyone else successfully tackled this issue?

Are there any error messages to give us a clue?
There is no 'issue', millions of people use Gmail with a Mac, they send mail so the 'issue' is with your machine so we'll concentrate on that. Post the SMTP settings that are in use for this account, post the authentication method as well, tell me whether you have activated Google's '2 Factor' authentication method if you have.

Incopy link will not update in InDesign and XML Story files

So I have a couple of questions.
I work for a publisher and we have a standard InDesign to Incopy workflow. Recently we have started having issues with InCopy links. First some basic info would probably be helpful. We use Windows XP =(, and we are using InDesign and Incopy CS3. All of our files are on a server. When I or people on my team sometimes attempt to update Incopy links, they will simply not update. Then when we check the link it says that it is zero k in size and is pretty much fried, cannot open in Icopy or InDesign. Why this is so nasty is because if the file cannot be updated all the work in the story that was done in InCopy is lost. Then to make matters worse, if we unlink the incopy file sometimes when we go to save indesign completely crashes. Is this a permissions issue as our IT department is fairly ignorant about design workflows on servers and has been inconsistent about the permissions. Also these .xml files seem to be populating the folder where we keep our InDesign files, when we open them they have basic information on the story links. I have attempted to find out more info on these files but have had very little luck.
Any info would be helpful.

HTML Page with Flash Video will not load in Firefox and Chrome

When going to the page http://www.airsept.com/linespliceanimation.html in Firefox (latest version) I am prompted to either open or save the file as if I clicked a link to download a file. Going to this web page in Google Chrome displays the code.
What the crap is going on? I can't figure it out. It works as it should in IE 7.

It looks like you fixed it. You should close it now so so it won't be listed as open.

CS3 will not install, double click and nothing happens

Hi,
I attempted to install CS3, it failed due to not enough RAM. I installed more RAM. Next when I attempted an install I got a Java Script error.I used the CS5 removal utility. Now when I attempt to install, nothing happens.
Any help?

After doing a Google search for web sites, the reultant links will not open, a 'Firefox not responding' shows in the URL bar.

I had the same problem and my solution was to disable the PDF extension that came with Firefox 4 which belongs to another company. I found out that it wast interfering with ReaderX. I unabled it and restarted Firefox. I have had no problems since then. Go to Tools, Add-On and click on Extensions and disable the PDF extension. I hope this helps

there is nothing more to add.... links from a wide variety of sources simply do not open up firefox and open the website like they used to. I can copy the links and paste them into firefox and they will open.

this answer does not help at all. It tells me how to change my mail client for outgoing mail. I use iCal from mac, which is the default mail program, and it works well for me. The problem is with INCOMING mail that contains clickable links that will not open the page in firefox. When I click them nothing happens. iCal and Firefox used to play together just fine; now firefox doesn't answer when I click a link sent to me and received in my iCal.

Links in Mac Mail will not open in Firefox. This recently became an issue.

When I select a hyperlink in Mac Mail the courser changes shape but will not open in Firefox, my default browser. I have used Mail with Firefox for a couple of years & it worked fine, until now. I can change the default to Safari & it works fine with Safari.
Also periodically Firefox hangs up & I have to force close it. That started to happen only recently too.

The operating system has to have information about what the default browser is in order to open a link in a browser.

Pandora will not play in Firefox, but it will play in Chrome and IE. In Firefox, it loads the initial Pandora page, which just says Pandora. In Chrome and IE, it then loads the player automatically. In Firefox it just sits there on the initial page that just says "Pandora," and it never loads the player. My Flash Player is updated, and I cleared all the caches... not sure what the problem is. It means what the message says. The format of the song can't be converted to a format compatible with the iPod.
Does it play in iTunes?
Where id the song come form?
Try deleting and reimporting into iTunes.
