OEID 3 - Endeca Server Installation Issue

Helo,
I am in the process of installing components of OEID 3 in my Windows7 machine.
I installed Weblogic and ADF as per the instructions given here - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37502_01/server.751/es_install/toc.htm#Installing%20WebLogic%20Server%20and%20Application%20Developer%20Runtime
I installed Endeca Server as per the instructions given here - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37502_01/server.751/es_install/toc.htm#Installing%20Oracle%20Endeca%20Server
There is no error while installing the Endeca Server but the Oracle Home Size is only 44MB while it should be 470MB as per the instruction.
The problem is while creating the WebLogic domain, Endeca Server is not appearing for selection.
Did anyone get into similar situation? Is this related to Windows7? What am I missing?
Thanks,
VJ

Hi VJ,
Are you referring to this step in the installation procedure (Creating the WebLogic Domain for Endeca Server)?
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37502_01/server.751/es_install/toc.htm#Creating%20the%20WebLogic%20domain%20for%20Endeca%20Server
If so, this indicates that either the Endeca Server, or the ADF were not properly installed. Are you sure you are using the WLS and ADF packages as indicated in the documentation? Are you using Sun JDK 6?

  • Endeca Server performance issue: dgraph is slow and not always available

Hi, I'm experiencing a problem with Endeca Server. It's very slow and the dgraph process takes about 97% of the cpu without doing queries.
When I try to open the Studio Page, the cpu utilization of the dgraph process increases up to 200%, and if I try to launch a simple query from Integrator the result is:

If I try to ping the Data Store by visiting the url http://192.168.2.16:7001/endeca-server/admin/SocialIDData?op=ping sometimes the response is positive, and sometimes it's negative.
I've also checked the log file in ${ENDECA_SERVER_DOMAIN}/EndecaServer/logs/SocialIDData.out and I've found that message:

  • Wireless Print Server Installation Issue - HP 2101nw

I have been using the 2101nw for the past year with my HP printer and Qwest DSL (Actiontec Wireless modem / router) without any issues. Well I made the switch over to Comcast so I needed to use a new wireless router (the Linksys WRT54G). For some reason I wasn't able to get the 2101nw to work, it just wouldn't connect to my computer. So I decided to uninstall the software and reinstall it. Well that isn't working very well. Everything loads up fine while the print server is connected to my computer. The instructions then tell me to discount the cable from my computer and plug in the printer, nothing happens at all after that. No connection and the software therefore won't complete the installation. I've spent two days trying to figure out what to do, since the guide really doesn't offer any help.  Any suggestions or recommendations?

  • Oracle VM Server Installation Issues

The Oracle VM Server 2.2.1 installation hangs after I pick US keyboard and does nothing after. I’ve tried other options including an old version of VM Server and I receive an error that states "isw: untested metadata version 1.2.04 found on /dev/sda", although the installation hangs in the same place. I’m not sure what the issue is and need some help.
Also, just as a test, I installed Oracle Enterprise Linux R5-U5-Server on the hardware without any issues. I see everything, and it is a nice OS.
    Hardware details:
    I had Fry’s build a U4 server.
Six 300 GB 10k rpm SATA on a raid 5 stripe
Two 1.8 TB 7200 rpm SATA on a raid 0 mirror
    Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
    24GB of DDR3 memory
    Intel Core i7-980X 3.33 GHX 12MB 6Core processor 64Bit
    Thanks for any help!!

In order to get your HDs detected you will need to create a driver disk. Check this link out so you can create one.
    http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-8.0-Manual/install-guide/ch-driverdisk.html
What the driver disk will do is load the driver disk image you need, and once you do that it should auto detect your drives.
This should at least get you headed in the right direction :)
Of course steps before creating the driver disk you will need to find out what driver you require and get a driver disk image of that driver to load to your bootable floppy/usb. In the example page they use a floppy, but any bootable media will work.
    Good luck,
    Roger.

  • Webcenter Sites 11g: Mobility server installation issue!!

    Hi ,
I am trying to setup Webcenter Sites Mobility Server standalone ( Webcenter Sites CS and CAS up and running).
I am facing some issue, trying to setup the same. Can anyone pls. help me on the same?
I am getting the folloing error in the apache log -
File does not exist: /opt/MS/msadmin/web/adminpanel/allProperties, referer: http://admin.ms1.coedomain.com:8001/
The default properties are not getting populated on the MSADMIN UI.
It says "Loading..." but never loads.
I can see them in the database but not getting populated on the msadmin UI.
The mapper url http://admin.ms1.coedomain.com:8001/mapper is also throwing 404 error.
I can see the modules present under "/var/www/html/mobilityserver/apps/frontend/modules".
Can anyone pls. let me know that apart from the installation steps mentioned in the Installation guide did I need to do anything else ?
Please help. I am stuck on this for sometime!!
    Thanks

    Hi,
Yes I have followed the same document.
I have followed the steps exactly as mentioned in the document ( Only I have configured OCI and its working fine).
At the end I ran the below command to test-
    sudo php symfony mobilityserver:testInstall env=prod host=ms1.coedomain.com:8001
    OUTPUT:
    mobilityserver:testInstall Task started at 2012-09-24 17:15:46

mobilityserver:testInstall Parsing XML from Content Server was successful
mobilityserver:testInstall Task ended at 2012-09-24 07:45:47 (1.696 seconds)I do not find the file "writetest.php" anywhere.
I can see the errors in the log as "File does not exist: /opt/MS/msadmin/web/adminpanel/allProperties, referer: http://admin.ms1.coedomain.com:8001/"
Do you have any file named "allProperties" under "adminpanel " directory?
Probably because of this its not able to load the properties.
    Thanks,
    Dev.

  • Search Server installation issue

    Dear all,
I installed Peoplesoft HRMS 9.1 with Peopletools 8.52.11 on a Windows 2008 x64 server and Oracle 11G database.
I'm installing the Search Server now from PSAdmin.
After setting the configuration, I try to boot the server, it is giving me the following error:
    exec GWADM -A -o ".\LOGS\stdout" -e ".\LOGS\stderr":
    Failed
tmboot CMDTUX_CAT:827: ERROR: Fatal error encountered; initiating user error handler
    tmshutdown -qy
I tried deleting the cache, Cleaning IPC, I even opened the port (7778) and restarted the server, and I'm still getting the same issue.
The Search server log doesn't show any error, but the Tuxedo log file shows the following error:
CMDGW_CAT:3250: Error: Cannot send config to GWADM group=GWTGROUP
    LIBTUX_CAT:250: Error: tpsvrinit() failed

    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thx

    Fixed it.
I had put the port wrong in the configuration.
    Thanks.

  • What is the default User Id and Password for Endeca Server Console

    Hell All,
I have installed Endeca Server 7.6.0.0.0 in Windows 64-bit. When I try login to http://localhost:7001/endeca-server/console/ it asking Login id and Password to for "sh_sample" datadomin that i imported from SampleApp. I tried using Admin Server user id and it did not work.
    Please help.
    Thank you

    Hi,
It is possible that you are asking about these two issues:
    1. SH sample data set is a data set that can be used with the Endeca Server, outside of the context of Studio. In particular, this data set represents an already created index, and thus can be queried by using SOAP UI, or other tool for working with Endeca Server's web services directly. This data set does not include collections (in v.7.6.0.0), and thus cannot be viewed or worked with, in Studio (which, like Integrator, requires having collections, as compared to Endeca Server 7.6.0.0 in which collections are optional at ingest time).
    2. The Endeca Server Console that you are trying to use is packaged with the Endeca Server because it is part of the Data Enrichment Module. Data Enrichment Module includes the Console and plugins. You can use the plugins within Studio. The Console, although it is installed with the Endeca Server, is not intented to be used in this release (because the Data Enrichment plugins are available to users through Studio).
To get back to your questions, if you would like to use SH data set, please see the instructions in the Endeca Server Installation Guide. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40521_01/server.760/es_install/toc.htm#Using%20the%20SH%20sample%20data
As for the Console, it should not be used. Instead, use Studio's Enrichments. For information, please see: Enriching Data Set Attributes

  • May I install Endeca Server 7.6 on an existing weblogic 10.3.6?

I would like to install Endeca Server 7.6 on an existing weblogic 10.3.6 using JDK 1.6U45 based Window 2008 R2 SP1. I notice the install guide, just chose 3 options when install weblogic 10.3.6, while the existing weblogic 10.3.6 in real life was fully installed. So May I install Endeca Server 7.6 on this existing weblogic 10.3.6? Thanks!

    Hi,
Yes you can install Endeca Server in an existing WebLogic 10.3.6, although it is preferable to dedicate a WebLogic domain to hosting only the Endeca Server application. See this topic about the Endeca Server and WebLogic integration, from the Endeca Server 7.6.0 doc.
    In it, it is stated:
"Important: For performance and troubleshooting purposes, it is preferable to dedicate a WebLogic domain to hosting only the Endeca Server application. In this case, the endeca-server root context is used in the URL pointing to any of the WebLogic Server instances hosting the Endeca Server application."
Additionally, the Endeca Server Installation Guide provides instructions for installing the generic version of the Oracle WebLogic 10.3.6. installer package, and not any other WebLogic packages. Specifically, it states:
"This procedure relies on those components that are available in the WebLogic Server installation under the Oracle Restricted Use License. If your site already has access to the fuller version of the WebLogic Server, additional components may be available to you. However, the instructions in this topic do not guarantee that any other components of the WebLogic Server can be used with the Endeca Server. Additionally, certain components, such as the Enterprise Manager, are not discussed in this guide."

Instead of installing SQL server instance you selected add node which is to be selected when SQL server installation is to be made on Node which is being added to cluster. Since your OS is not clustered I am sure you selected worng option.
Please right click on setup file and select run as administrator. Now installation window which pops up on that on left hand side select
installation and then on page that appears select 'New server standalone installation or add feature to existing installation'.
You already have SQL server 2008 installed on your machine as per feature discovery report

  • Offline installer for CC Desktop / Server availability issues.

This is a follow up to the issue described here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5620240#5620240
As we have to install CC Desktop on each of the systems deploying CS6 packages, I'm looking for an offline installer for it. Is such a thing available?
The reasons I ask are that A) There's no guarantee that the machine will have internet access during the installation. and B) Half the time I run it on a desktop, I get an error message telling me "The remote server is not responding in a proper manner"; my response to which was similarly improper...
My "Deployment" such as it is now relies on users copying the file form a network share on to their desktops, running it individually and hoping that the server is online. Not fun when you've got 50 artists across 5 studios wanting to get these packages installe; and that's only so I can proceed to the wheel-of-fortune that is the AAMEE-produced MSI package.
Are these server availability issues commonplace? Is this just one of those things that afflicts all software launches that rely too heavily on online components?

    Hi Terry,
If it's helpful, you can find and use all the original offline installers for all Creative Cloud and CS6 tools (including the CC Desktop App) here:
    Adobe CC Direct Download Links
    and/or
    Adobe CS6 Direct Download Links
If you have those files in hand then you can install the free trials anywhere while being offline.  In most cases the Internet is used to activate the software longer-term, although Adobe still provides procedures for offline activation:
    Activate your software offline
If the computer on which your software is installed cannot connect to the Internet or to Adobe’s activation servers, you can activate your software offline.
    For instructions, visit www.adobe.com/go/getactivated.

Please note that this is NOT a question about fixing this one installation. This is an SQL Server Express install as part of my application install and MUST WORK FIRST TIME, EVERY TIME. Please direct me.
    Paul T.

Here are the parameters used with the SQL Server Express installer EXE (both x86 and x64):
    /q /hideconsole /action=Install /features=SQL /instancename=SQLEXPRESS /enableranu=1 /sqlsvcaccount="NT Authority\Network Service" /AddCurrentUserAsSqlAdmin /skiprules=RebootRequiredCheck /IAcceptSQLServerLicenseTerms
I presume that TCP/IP is not enabled by default for Express installs. I THINK that named pipe should be enabled.
