OEM 10.1.0.3 vs 10g 10.1.0.2

I have downloaded OEM (10.1.0.3) and need to use it against Oracle 10g (10.1.0.2) for windows X386. But it seems like getting conflict due to version mismatching.
Can anyone guide me a right place to have either Oracle 10g(10.1.0.3) for Windows OR OEM (10.1.0.2)
Advance Thanking for Early Anticipation

Not sure what exactly your problem is, are you talking about using a 10g database as repository database? If you want to choose the option 'Install repository in an existing database', it must be at least version 10.1.0.3 . But there's no problem to monitor databases with version 10.1.0.2 .
First available version GridControl (OEM) for Windows is 10.1.0.3 .

    Hi ,
I am new with oracle enterprise manager grid control ,
    I have 3 questions ,
    1. My customer is using windows server 2008 with oracle 10g R2 database , can I install OEM 11g R2 to monitor all the 10g databases ?
    2. I found only 32 bit installers for windows , where as they are using 64 bit OS , is it fine to install 32 bit OEM in a 64 bit OS ?
    3. Do they require any separate license for OEM 11g , they have license for oracle 10g database ?
I will really appreciate if someone can help me with these details , thank you.

You don't need any license to use OEM 11g, however you do need licenses to use Management Packs

  • OEM client (oracle 10g)

If anybody knows OEM client for oracle 10g ,Please provide me free download link
    thanks a lot,

If you are looking for the same interface as the 9i OEM Java Console - get the Database 10g Client CD. Be aware that the interface is deprecated and Oracle recommends you use the new browser-based client.

  • Monitoring Dataguard on 10g through OEM

    Please,
Should I need to install a version of OEM to monitore my dataguard on 10g.
I configure Dataguard with Oracle 10g running on windows, but the GUI of OEM doesn't show a tab related to dataguard.
How should I get it ?, there is a link of that should help me to resoleve this issue?
    Thanks

we monitor from console using SYS userYou have to monitor it using a SYSDBA user not necessarily SYS. So you can create a user e.g. SYS_MONITOR which has different policy than SYS. Although it is best to change that password on regular bases too, maybe every 3 months.
so is any way we can change SYS password on console using command line utility?I don't get your question. Are you asking if it is possible to change the monitoring username/password using some command line utility? If so, I haven't heard of such tool. But there could be a package like MGMT_TARGET which you can manipulate the credentials if you know how to use it.

  • Native/StandAlone OEM  for 9i, 10g, 11g Databases for EBS

    hi hussein/helios,
How do I install the standalone OEM web, for EBS with 9i, 10g, 11g database? I just can not stall GRID coz
    its so complicated.
I have seen it here in a forum before , which is done thru a patch, but I can not find that link anymore :(
Hussein give me that patch link before :), Can you help me find the link again please....
It is so hard to search key words in the forum.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
By the way, If I use OEM GRID... Let's say we have 10 branches having each own distributed database on Linux, with
different database version (like 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g). And we are located at the Main Office. Is the ff. steps the way
    to manage them?ff steps means?
    1. Install OEM Grid at the Main Office (10.2.0.5). My Main Office version in on Windows XP PC. Is it ok? to manage
Linux servers using central Grid on Windows?Refer to the certification matrix in My Oracle Support website to find out if OEM is certified on XP or not (most probably not).
    2. Install OEM linux control agent at the 10 branchces which are on Linux.
    3. Each branches connect to Main Office via VPN like once a week, just to get/send updates. The above should be OK.
    Regards,
    Hussein

  • How to monitor various databases using 10g OEM

I have Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g Databases. How can I configure Oracle 10g OEM to monitor all these databases. In Oracle 9i OEM it was easy. But I didn't find the method to add it in 10g OEM? Can we access the 10g OEM only through browser?
    Regards

If you are installing Database and you choose to use Database Control, it is a different thing from Grid Control. Database Control comes with its one agent which is different from Grid Control's management agent.
If you install a database on different host and you do not have Grid control, you can use the database control for that database for that host. If you have grid control, then you can install the Management Agent separately on that new host to manage the new database as a Grid Control target.

  • Running logminor from OEM java based console

    Hi,
I don't see a few applications when i launch java based OEM from my Administration Client (Oracle 10g). For example i don't see logminor viewer in it but from the web, i have searched that i can use "oemapp.bat lmviewer" command to do this. How can i launch tablespace map viewer which was available with oracle 9i OEM. I don't see this with 10g. What are the other applications i can invoke by passing some parameter to "oemapp.bat" file.
    Thanks

  • Can not run OWB Mapping automatically by OEM? .  Very urgent. Pls help me

    Hi all,
    Pls help me.
I am using OWB 10g under Oracle 10g. I want to run OWB Mapping automatically by OEM.
I installed Oracle Database 10g fully but don't have OEM in this. After that, I installed Oracle Client 10g. In this product, there is OEM 10g. I read some topic as "want to run owb mappings thru job schedule" and also read http://otn.oracle.com/products/warehouse/htdocs/oem_scheduling_viewlet_swf.html
But my OEM not as same as in this . It don't have job menu and OEM Console Login window and don't have also where I can put username/pwd to login into OMS???
    I don't know this problem.
    Pls help me.

    Hi,
    Here are two possible solutions:
    1) If you have OEM 9i anywhere in your environment you can use this for scheduling the OWB jobs.
    2) If your environment is 10g only you need to install 10g Grid Controll. This product has replaced the OMS / Java console of earlier releases, and contains the same functionality for scheduling jobs.
Note that if you are using the sql_exec_template to execute your mappings you can schedule and run these from any machine on the network, not just the target server.
    Hope this helps,
    Roald

  • How to connect 10g database through Enterprise manager???

    Hi All,
I want to connect the database through Enterprise manager.
My database is on 10g. Version is 10.1
Please tell me the procedure to connect the database through E.M.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Prathamesh.

Are you thinking of the Enterprise Manager supplied with Oracle9i? If yes - it doesn't work quite that way ... and the 9i java OEM is not compatible.
Use the enterprise manager supplied with the 10g database, called the dbconsole (look for a service or start it using 'emctl start dbconsole') and access it using http://{localhost}:5500/em
If that doesn't satisfy you, load the updated version of the OEM 9i java standalone from the 10g client disk.

  • Problem trying to Initiate a restore through OEM

    Hello All,
I seem to have a problem when trying to initiate a restore from a cold/consistent backup using OEM. I am running Oracle 10G on Windows 2003.
I go through the first through screens of the restore/recovery process and am able to shutdown the database and then start it back up in NOMOUNT. When I refresh OEM and then attmept to 'Perform Recovery' I am prompted to enter a host (i.e. O/S level) user id that is part of the DBA group (I assume that this refers to the windows level Ora_Dba group ?). So far , so good .
I have three user accounts that are member of the Ora_Dba group on the machine I am working on :-
    1. DCMROOT (This is the Windows Administrator account)
    2. UserX
    3. UserY
If I supply the DCMROOT name and password in OEM I get an error, saying it is unable to start SQLPLUS. If I supply the name and password of either UserX or Usery as the host account for OEM I get a different error, namely 'ORA-01031 Insufficient Privileges'
I am therefore unable to get any further with initiating the restore via OEM.
What prvileges are missing ?? Is there anything else I need to do to get this to work.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shaun

    Hi,
The users you are trying to login as may be missing the 'Log on as batch job' and/or 'Log on as service' system privileges.
Check to see if the user you want to login as has these privileges, if they don't then they will need to be assigned, simply being a member of the ORA_DB group doesn't seem to be enough to allow tasks to be run from OEM that require O/S privileges.

  • OMS 10g?

    hi,
just wanna know, is there a console for OMS 10g? if yes, where can i launch it? i manage to install OEM 10g, but there's no option to launch OMS. i can start/stop the service.
I need it to schedule the process flows i've build in OWB. I know how to do it in 9i but not 10g. or do i still use OEM 9i to connect to a 10g db in order to perform the scheduling? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Yes, these files are deleted automatically by OMS.. As OMS receives the files they are processed by OMS loader and files are deleted automatically. If due to any reason OMS is not able to process the error goes to error directory.
    please read :
*Understanding The EM 10g Grid Control Loader System [ID 550615.1]*
    Process is :
Once the data has been uploaded by the Agent, the OMS is responsible for processing it and uploading it to the Repository. Below is a high level overview of the processes that take place at the OMS side:
Agent sends data to the OMS
OMS checks for version, key validation, and time zone.
OMS saves the file to the disk for all non-severity uploads
If asynchronous upload type, then return success to agent. The file is processed by a background loader thread
If synchronous upload type, then processes file using SAX parser, blocking the agent for the duration of the process
Load the data to the Repository
Move files to errors directory if errors encountered
Send an appropriate response to agent for both sync/async cases.

  • Oracle9i OEM acting weird

    Hi all,
I know this is for 10g grid control but for want of a forum for the 9iOEM, can anyone please help??
I have Oracle 9i OEM (Java based) installed on my XP client machine. It is accessing oracle 11g database on an AIX machine. however when I log on to the standalone console (as sysdba, can't even log on with my username!), it shows that I am connected to the database but I can not click on the + sign to expand the database view hence can not see or browse the schema, instance, storage etc. I have tried re-installing the oracle 9i client to no avail. This behavior is funny, it has logged me in twice in 3 weeks, so its the norm for the console.
Has anyone ever experienced this? Any suggestion would be appreciated
FYI: I also have an oracle 11g client installed on same machine but did not install the OEM.
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated

My best suggesstion is use Oracle 10g OEM (Java Console) for all Oracle 9i,10g and 11g databases. Oracle 11g client doesn't include OEM Java console. You need to use HTTP DB Control. Oracle 10g client will include OEM Java Console, but not Oracle 10g database installation. Where as, Oracle 9i database and client can provide OEM Java console.

  • OEM install

    Hi,
1-can we install OEM Grid 10g and OEM 9.2.0 on the same server ?
2-I'm looking for the link to download OEM9.2.0.
    Many thanks for your help.

Sure...just use different Oracle homes. However, instead of going thru the process of using 9.2 OEM, why not just install the 10g Java OEM Console (found on the 10g Client CD) which is similar in format to the 9.2 OEM version?
