OEM 10g shows DB Instance status as unmounted

Hi All,
I have recently refreshed a DB from Prod instance but did not create a black out in OEM before starting the refresh of DB. After the refresh, the status of DB in OEM is showing up as "Status: Unmounted Details:The instance is open
The instance has been started in no-mount state" but it shows the listener status as "UP" and also shows the status as "UP" in the general section. I have tried clearstate agent and upload which did not work. I have also tried cleaning up all the collection files, upload files and state files and restarting the agent by unsecuring and securing it again but none of this worked. Does anybody have any ideas how to trouble shoot this?
Thank you.

Search Bug 6073721 in support. That fix worked for me using OEM 10.2.0.5 on AIX.
To summarize: Find the metric and policy settings for the DATABASE (not the global ones for OEM) and change the value for unmounted to 1 (or anything > 0). Then go back to the database home screen and refresh. The fix might not take effect immediately, so try the refresh more than once.

  • The OEM is showing the instance and listener down but they are up

    Hi,
    I'm facing one problem with my OEM. On the OS level, I checked that the listener and the instance are running. But when I put the information on the file portlist.ini adding these info on the address http of the OEM, on the browse on the Windows environment, it show me that the instance and the listerner are down.
    The instance and the listener are running on one unix machine. no problems to connect using sqlplus.
    Any idea about this?
    Thanks,
    Serg

    Sorry the delay Rob,
    follow the message that I see on the : Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance. The state of the components are listed below.
    Then bellow on the same window open on my browse I see that for OEM the database instance and the listener are down status. On the right side the startup botton is able.
    Any idea?
    Tks,

  • OEM 10g - Job Status - Suspended on Agent Unreachable

    Hi,
    I have checked out a few post on this forum which is similar to my problem.
    But could not get the exact workaround.
    The scheduled backup is not getting failed / successful since 29th January 2010.
    We have not made any changes on the database level. But there was a patching activity at application level.
    and as soon as I try to schedule a backup it shows the same status "suspended on agent unreachable"
    I have checked the emctl status and dbconsole status.

    LSNRCTL> exitWhy does the service "prod01.sr.net" have/show 2 instances? There is only 1 instance running on this machine/host/box?
    During my troubleshooting the EM problem, I had added the following code to the listener.ora SID_LIST_LISTENER section, and re-started the LISTENER service. I was thinking that my EM problem had to do with the database not registering itself with the listener:
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = prod01.sr.net)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1)
          (SID_NAME = prod01)
        )How can I correct this?
    I think I should somehow remove the instance with a status of UNKNOWN (see <<<<<<<<<<<<<< ???? above).
    Any recommendations please?
    Thanks,
    Bob

    It is nothing to worry about when you see the same instance showing up twice, once with status READY and once with status UNKNOWN.
    READY means listener knows this because PMON of that instance told him so (dynamic registration)
    UNKNOWN means listener knows this because of SID_LIST entry in the listener.ora (static registration)
    Both is useful. Nothing broken here, so no need to fix it :-)
    Kind regards

  • DSCC showing instance status as stopped or unknown error

    Hello All,
    Am a newbie and learning DSEE 6.3 at present. Recently SSL renewal happened for all the servers in the production environment and once after that DSCC showing 2 instance as stopped or unknown error. While checking via command prompt everything looks fine, seems to be DSCC having communication issue with specific instance which are on different servers. How you are advising here? Does DSCC restart will help here or particular instance need to unregistered and register again?
    Thanks,
    Yathi

    Hi
    You should un-register your instances from DSCC and register them again so that their certificates are updated in DSCC registry.
    Carole.

  • NetWeaver Administrator shows Instance status as yellow

    I see my Java Instance status in NWA 7.1 under Java EE Instances but all that is shown is the System Nr, Host, and status, which is a yellow triangle.
    There are no OS Process PIDs, or anything.  Where is the information stored?  Can I fix this somehow (I hope so).  This happened after a Homogeneous System Copy.

    Hi,
    After Java system copy you need to modify instance ID in config tool.. This is a required step..

  • Starting OEM DBconsole of 2nd Instance

    Hello,
    we have 2 instances of oracle 10g on solaris. I was able to start ( after the rebooting the whole server) one instance of OEM db console. How can I start the OEM db console of 2nd instance. when I give emctl status dbconsole or emctl start dbconsole it start the OEM of the 1st instance only.
    Thanks

    somewhere in between the lines it shows
    1st instance name = 2nd instance nameNot sure what that means, but be sure you use ORACLE_SID in uppercase, e.g.
    $ ORACLE_SID=<your SID>; export ORACLE_SID

    Your first issue isn't necessarily a repsitory issue:
    1. Is your target configured?
    2. When you type "lsnrctl services" on the target server, does it return your target? If not, you need to resolve that issue first before it can be monitored via GRID

  • Installing OEM 10g (10.2.0.1) Grid Control on Linux86

    Hi friends,
    I have successfully installed OEM Grid in our RHEL 4.6 server (1st time).
    At the end of the installation I got this message:
    See below for information pertaining to your Enterprise Manager installation:
    1. Use the following URL to access the Enterprise Manager Grid Control:
    http://server01.ebiztech.biz:4889/em
    2. The Enterprise Manager installation includes an Oracle Application Server instance, which is administered using a special "ias_admin" user account. The following information was defaulted for the embedded Application Server instance:
    Instance Name:    EnterpriseManager0.server01.ebiztech.biz
    ias_admin password: This password is the same the SYSMAN account.
    3. The connection details for the Enterprise Manager Repository are:
    Host: server01.ebiztech.biz
    Port: 1521
    SID: emrepI can do #1, and #3.
    How do I access #2? what is the URL corresponding to it? Or is it done through SQLPlus?
    Thanks a lot,
    Ms K

    Thanks Raj,
    Of course I will upgrade it, but for now I am still cramming on how to complete my installation huhuhhu:(
    Firstly....
    How do you install management agent for linux86?
    I have already installed OEM 10g Grid Control OMS on my linux sever which also has EBS R12.1.
    Do I need to install a "management agent" on this server, to be able to manage my EBS R12.1?
    Secondly....
    I want to manage our EBS 11i which resides on another server (remote).
    I downloaded the Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip file from OTN,
    and put it to the target server.
    I unzip it following the readme.txt to the
    1. Download the Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip file from OTN.
    2. Copy the downloaded file to <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0 directory.(create <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0 directory, if it doesn't exist.)
    3. cd <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0
    4. <OMS_HOME>/bin/unzip Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip
    5. If agent_download.rsp doesn't exists at <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0 directory then:
        a. mv agent_download.rsp.bak agent_download.rsp
        b. edit agent_download.rsp and modify s_OMSHost="%s_hostname%" and s_OMSPort="%s_OMSPort%" with the correct OMSHost and OMSPort values.(However, even if you are specifying a secure Management Service, you must still enter the non-secure port number here)
            eg. s_OMSHost="stadv26.us.oracle.com"
                s_OMSPort="4889"
    6. Edit <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0/linux/agentDownload.linux and modify OMShost=%s_OMSHost% and httpPort=%s_OMSPort% with the correct OMSHost and OMSPort.(However, even if you are specifying a secure Management Service, you must still enter the non-secure port number here)
       For eg. OMShost =stadv26.us.oracle.com
               httpPort=4889
    7. Follow the agentDownload instructions from 5.4 section of Oracle Enterprise Manager Installation and Basic Configuration Guide.But when I got to #7 ....the documentation is not clear, as usual there are lots of injected unrelated topics which make the documentation "topsiturvy" and very hard to follow.
    Can you just tell me, based on your experience how to install the agent? Someone told me to run OUI?
    But I can not find it on the unzip >Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip file
    Thanks a lot.

  • How can change database one to another in OEM 10g

    hello
    i have oracle 10g db 10.1.0.2.0 R2.
    and 2 db 1. oracle(db_name) approx 5GB 2. oracle1(db_name) approx 2GB
    now i am using OEM 10g or db managing.and manage oracle db through OEM.
    but i want manage oracle1 db through OEM so what should i do..
    plz. give me reply
    very soon...
    thanx.

    If I understand your question correctly, you have one database that's showing in OEM you say. You didn't specify if it's Database Control or Grid Control.
    Database Control allows u to manage only 1 database. So using Database Control of db1, you can manage db1. Using database control of db2, you can manage db2.
    However if you want to manage both from one server, you can use Grid Control. To make the second node that hosts the second database show up in Grid Control, you need to install the management agent on that node. After that, once you set up the preferred credentials, it will be in GC.

  • Creating Standby database in OEM 10g

    DB = Oracle 10.2.0.4
    OS = Solaris 10 Sparc
    I am trying to create a physical standby database using the add standby database option within OEM 10g. This is something we have done numerous times before on 10g and 11g db's without a single issue, but for some reason, this time after selecting my RMAN backup location and staging area location , I am getting the following error when I click Next:
    RMAN Backup Location - The specified RMAN backup is invalid. Could not identify controlfile from the backup
    It is the latest backup (using RMAN catalog) from the previous evening and includes datafiles and control file.

    The only difference between creating a standby for this db and others we have created is that the file system the backups are stored on is on a non-global zone shared via nfs mount.
    I know that when I try and share that filesystem with other servers I get the message:
    share_nfs: Cannot share filesystems in non-global zones
    If the /backup filesystem is not shared with any other servers would OEM be able to read from that NGZ? The filesystem is available to connect to using ssh from other locations, but not sure how OEM handles this part of the process.
    Any advice would be great.

    JP

    Thanks for the reply. I thought that is what I would need to do. However this link is very useful and could resolve the issue. I have yet to raise it with the system admin guys here yet but will do and will report back on outcome.

  • OEM 10g with earlier version of db

    Hi,
    is it possible to manage all my databases ( version 10g, 9i, 8i ) with only one installed OEM 10g?
    Thank you.
    Tibor

    I'm running a 10gR1 oem on windows with 9.2.0.6 (now upgraded to 9.2.0.7) and 8.1.7.4 instances.
    As long as the 10g agent runs on the host OS it will mamage the instances - even 32-bit 8i on Solaris-32 and Windows, althout Solaris-32 has been dropped from 10gR2
    if you want to run 10gR2 oem then 9i must be 9.2.0.7 (hence why I upgraded - we're building a new 10gR2 oem server)

  • Instance status BLOCKED

    system: ORACLE RAC 9i on Solaris 9. have 2 databases (4 instances).
    problem: can connect 3 instances but unable to connect 4th. following error.
    ORA-12521: TNS:listener could not resolve INSTANCE_NAME given in connect descriptor.
    when I check listener status its shows following.
    Service "BODB.world" has 2 instance(s).
    Instance "BODB1", status READY, has 2 handler(s) for this service...
    Instance "BODB2", status READY, has 1 handler(s) for this service...
    Service "DB.world" has 2 instance(s).
    Instance "DB1", status READY, has 2 handler(s) for this service...
    Instance "DB2", status BLOCKED, has 1 handler(s) for this service...
    how can I change instance status BLOCKED to READY?

    Hi,
    it very nice your solve your problem but one of possible reason when database configure in SHARED SERVER mode. or we received ORA-12520 error.
    Oracle Version : 10.1.0.2.0
    OS : Windows XP sp2
    Database configure in Shared Server Mode.
    SQL> show parameter dispatchers
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    dispatchers

    (PROTOCOL=TCP)
    max_dispatchers integer
    SQL> show parameter shared_servers
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    max_shared_servers integer
    shared_servers integer 1
    ---------------------------------------------------------after change shared server = 0 then i got error "ora-12520".
    SQL> alter system set shared_servers = 0;
    System altered.
    SQL> conn scott/tiger@sh

    C:\>lsnrctl services
    Service "sh" has 1 instance(s).
    Instance "sh", status READY, has 2 handler(s) for this service...
    Handler(s):

    DISPATCHER
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=alwarid-taj.fakhruddin.local)(PORT=3348))
    For above error you have to check configure two parameters.
    1.Shared_servers
    2.Dispatchers
    SQL> alter system set shared_servers = 1;
    System altered.
    SQL> alter system set dispatchers = "(PROTOCOL=TCP)" ;
    System altered.
    Service "sh" has 1 instance(s).
    Instance "sh", status READY, has 2 handler(s) for this service...
    Handler(s):
    "DEDICATED" established:0 refused:0 state:ready
    LOCAL SERVER
    "D000" established:4 refused:0 current:2 max:1002 state:ready
    DISPATCHER
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=alwarid-taj.fakhruddin.local)(PORT=3348))
    The command completed successfullyregards
