OEM CONSOLE LOGIN PROBLEM

Hi all,
When I try to login to the OEM console(Oracle Management Server), I gave the Administrator as Sysman, and Password as OEM_TEMP, and Management server as ????.
Because as I am not aware of what to give in Management Server.
I got error unable to connect VT-1000.
I have a standalone system having windows 2000 advanced server, and oracle 9i enterprise edition.
How to solve this problem. Coz I want to perform export utilities, If I login in standalone mode I cant perform these tasks.
R.Ramesh.

I have a similar problem. I have the service running and repository created under the user of OMS, password = OMS. I can login to the schema with these credentials with sqlplus.
Now when running DBA Studio with OMS, I give the same credentials for the OMS Admin Id and password along with the Management Server Name.
It tells me the "credentials" are wrong. Saving and un-saving the id/password updates the omsconfig.properties file, but not sure that really matters.
Any thoughts? I have a posting out there already "Fresh 8.1.6 install....OSM" ......should OMS!
I'd REALLY appreciate your help,
Scott

The ID and password I have setup for the Application server does not work. Now my problem is, I cannot access the portal server on my machine. Does any one know how I can find out what my ID and password is? or how I can access the portal server?

  • Application Server - Admin Console Login Problem

    Hi,
I have installed J2EE 1.4 (Sun Java Application Server Platform Edition 8) on Windows 2000.
Installation was successful and the app server is getting started too.
When i am going to http://localhost:4848/asadmin (Admin Console) and enter user/password to login ..
    It complains:
HTTP Status 400 - Invalid direct reference to form login page
    type Status report
message Invalid direct reference to form login page
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid direct reference to form login page).
I could not find much on this in the troubleshooting guide or other documents too.
Did anyone else face this issue and if you know the reason/workaround, Pls suggest.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Anwar

Hey anwarak, I am having the exact problem again as well. I had this same issue on the previous release of j2ee and for a short time I had it working. I lost that functionality when I lost my disk drive to a (s.m.a.r.t.) type of error. I am now in the rebuilding system phase and thought the issue might be resolved in this release. My initial resolution that was suggested here was to turn off my firewall.
I am running Win-XP SP1 and I also have Norton2002 and ZoneAlarm Pro 4.5.538.001 on my system. I have attempted to allow ZoneAlarm to ease restrictions for cookies and ad blockers, just in case but to no avail! I found the following log at C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs\access on my system:

  • Design console login problem

For allowing a normal OIM user to access design console when OIM is on websphere, do we need to do anything in addition to the following:
    1. Make user as a End-user administrator
    2. Add the user to System Admin user group
I did this, but when I try to login into the design console, it asks me for target authentication credentials. I am able to login with xelsysadm user's credentials.
    Please help

    Hi Rajiv
In OIM with weblogic, it works that way. But now I have OIM on websphere and even after performing the 2 steps, it shows me a prompt with this information.
    ==================
    Login at the Target Server
    Enter login information for null
    Realm/Cell Name:
    User Identity:
    User Password:
    ==================
I guess it is expecting the information related to websphere cell/node.

  • Your username and/or password are invalid in OEM Console

    Hi Gurus,
I have a User 'CIS57' and used that to connect as sysdba using the OEM console all the time and was working fine.
Now I am only able to connect to the DB using the SYS as sysdba in the OEM Console and not able to use the CIS57 as sydba anymore.
Any reason why I am not able to connect using this userid in the OEM console. I used this user CIS57 to connect as sysdba all the time.
Not sure why not able to connect using the same credentials now. Please advice
    Thanks
    Sheik

if that is the case How was I able to connect before
    like
    cis57
    userpassword
    sysbda
    in the oem console login.
Note: the Oracle version is 11.1.0.6.0
All this connection issue ( using the cis57) user started when one of teh script was asked to run by teh Oracle supports services for a flashback recovery area issue and that crashed the instance and the instance had to be brought up by creating a SER 1 SR with Oracle support.
So they were playing around with teh oradim, pwd files and other parametr file setting while troubleshooting the issue.
    Thanks

  • Login-Problem Administration Console

    Hi
I've installed OIM 9.1 on BEA WebLogic 8.1 SP6 on a linux OS.
If I start OIM I can launch the OIM Administration/User Console Login Site. But I'm not able to login.

Just give a try logging into admin console using the password for the user where your DB OIM instance is running.
Suppose if your OIM is running on DB Instance IDM and userid is user1 with the password abcd1234. give this password to login to admin console.
I faced the same issue in Solaris env with same versions of OIM and weblogic you are using. I tried logging with that DB password, it worked.
    In worst scenarios it works...

  • OEM console - adding database - tree

    Hi Folks,
I need to add a database to OEM console, where do I get the correct connect parameters from? Tnsping is unable to resolve the database name, however I able to login as sys using sql. Listner status shows me the right instance of the database running on port 1521, any suggestion or comments to resolve the issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hello,
In OEM console, choose option to add database manually to a tree. Now, in the host name give the name of system where database is running. port number as you say 1521 which is default also. SID is name of database. In net service name give the name from your TNSNAMES.ORA file, which you uses to connect through the sql*plus. If no service is created in TNSNAMES.ora then first create one and connect through SQL*PLUS using this service. If this happens successfully, then give that service name in the net service name.
Make sure that your listener.ora and TNSNAMES.ora have same service names.
    This should resolve your problem.

  • Error logging in to OEM console

    hi,
I'm getting the below error while setting up backup startegy and submitting the job.
    ORA-20204: User does not exist: DBADMIN ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.MGMT_USER", line 122 ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.MGMT_JOBS", line 142 ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.MGMT_JOBS", line 78 ORA-06512: at line 1
I've tried logging using the sys, system account and checked their account status they are fine. I could able to log in through SQL prompt in to the DB and it also accepting the password.
But when i'm accessing though OEM console the same accounts are not accepted. It says username or password incorrect.
    2) To solve the problem I've created a user and granted sysdba privilege and i could able to login in to the console.
But i could not submit a job i.e scheduling a backup and when i try to submit the error comes as below
    ORA-20204: User does not exist: DBADMIN ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.MGMT_USER", line 122 ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.MGMT_JOBS", line 142 ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.MGMT_JOBS", line 78 ORA-06512: at line 1
    Any help is greatly appreciated?

    Thanks for the info AMAN.
I tried changing the password for sys and here is below error
    SQL> password
    Changing password for SYS
    Old password:
    New password:
    Retype new password:
    ERROR:
ORA-28003: password verification for the specified password failed
    Password unchanged
I guess the password for the sys account is changed. But how can I login to the SQl prompt without any error and when I'm trying to change the password it is given error.
The default password for the sys is change_on_install this password is not accepting in the OEM console.
The accounts for the Sys ans system are open and have system tablespace access. So as far as the access is concerned there is not issue.
I could not log in to OEM console with sys and system accounts. So I could not see the setup link as u mentioned.
I check with DBADMIN user in Administration link to see the list of users availble and their account status.
I need to implement backup stategy for DB and I'm stuck up here.
    Any help is greatly appriciated.

  • Emsdk-1100 error with OEM Console...

    I've installed Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 on Windows 2000.
    The OEM worked fine.
But after applying the 8.1.7.2.1 patchset,
I got the error 'Emsdk-1100:unable to etablish a secure
communication channel' every time I tried to bring up the console
    (connected as SYSMAN).
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Hoang Tran

The following fix from Metalink solved this problem for me.
    Problem Description
    1. When trying to start the OEM Console or one of the Management
    Pack
utilities (e.g. DBA-Studio or one of the other Managers), you
    get
    the following error:
EMSDK-1100: Unable to establish a secure communication
    channel.
and the program will not start. When starting the Management
    Pack
utilities in the standalone mode, this error does not occur.
    2. This problem occurs:
    - after the installation of the 8.1.7.2.1 Patch Set on top of
    either
    8.1.7.0.0 or 8.1.7.1.x
    - on the platform Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 2000
    - when on the same machine, in the same %ORACLE_HOME%, the
Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) utilities release 2.2 are
    installed
(e.g. the OEM Console and one or more Management Packs),
    and
the Oracle Management Server (OMS) release 2.2.
    Solution Description
    1. Before applying the Patch Set 8.1.7.2.1, rename the file
    %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\njssl8.dll
    e.g. to:
    %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\njssl8_old.dll
    After applying the patch-set 8.1.7.2.1,
-> rename the new njssl8.dll (causing problem) to
    njss8_new.dll
-> rename old njssl8_old.dll (good version) to njssl8.dll
Start the OMS (or reboot the machine and re-start the OMS).
    2. When no backup of %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\njssl8.dll has been made
    before
installing the 8.1.7.2.1 patch-set, obtain the latest earlier
    version
of this DLL. This file can be found in the 8.1.7.1.1 patch-
    set which
    can be downloaded via MetaLink:
    a. Run WinZip to open the 81711 patch-file:
    p1711240_8171_WINNT.zip
    b. Double-click on the file: WinNT-81711_patchset.exe
and choose "Run WinZip" in the "WinZIP Self-Extractor"
    screen.
    c. In the new WinZip screen, locate the file: lib.0.4.jar
Note: there exist 4 (four) files with the name lib.0.4.jar
Choose the one which will be extracted to the location:
    81711\stage\Patches\oracle.options.ano.ssl\8.1.7.1.1\1
    \DataFiles\
    d. Extract this file to disk.
    e. Locate the file lib.0.4.jar which was extracted to disk
    f. Open this JAR file with WinZip.
    g. The JAR file contains one file only: njssl8.dll
    h. Extract this file to disk in a temporary directory.
    i. Rename %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\njssl8.dll to %ORACLE_HOME%
    \bin\njss8_new.dll
    j. Copy the extracted file (see h.) to %ORACLE_HOME%
    \bin\njssl8.dll
    k. Start the OMS (or reboot the machine and re-start the OMS).
    3. A fix for this problem is not implemented in the 8.1.7.2.x
    patch-set.
Consult [BUG:1946984] in order to find out if a patch is
    available.
    Explanation
In the 8.1.7.2.1 Patch Set, one of the modified DLL's is:
    %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\njssl8.dll
This DLL is also used during the startup of the OEM Console or
    the
Management Pack utilities which login to the Oracle Management
    Server
(i.e. which are using the OEM Repository).
The new version of this DLL, shipped with patch-set 8.1.7.2.1 on
    the
Windows platform, causes a Secure Communication Error, resulting
    in the:
EMSDK-1100: Unable to establish a secure communication
    channel.

  • Admin Console browser problem

    Hi,
This is a peculiar problem that I am facing. I am working with iPS3.0SP3 on solaris8. My installation went fine. But when I try to access Admin console(thru Netscape 4.7 or 4.75), I have the login screen displayed. But, after I provide User and Password and hit Submit button, the browser window vanishes. This has been happening with SP2 also. And my login to the portal desktop screen is successful. My browser window is available. The problem is only with the Admin Console.
Now when I tried to Login to the same portal server instance's Admin Console thru the local Web Browser on a different machine, its working fine. I mean, the windows doesnt close.
Any guess on what could be the problem.
    Thanks & Regards.
    shivaram.

    Hi there Shivaram,
I have found a similar problem, when using iPS. If you have logged into the portal desktop and then wan't to log into the admin console, the admin console seems to fail when logging in. What I have found, is that after you logout of the desktop, and then go to the console login, it helps to just click the reload button in netscape, while on the admin console login screen. It seems that you need to clear the session cookie first, otherwise admin authentication fails. Alternatively you can start a seperate instance of Netscape from the command line, which then forces Netscape to create an alternative temporary store, and lock files. I'm not sure wheteher this will help, but this is what I have seend before.... comments welcome..

  • OEM Console does not show IFS Node or Folder....

    Does anyone know why ?
    Regards
    Rajiv

To manage 9iFS from a remote OEM 9.0.1 console, i.e. get the iFS Node or Folder to appear, you need to install the following on your Windows NT client in this order:
    1) Oracle 9i Client (Admin option)
    2) Oracle HTTP Server using 9i Enterprise Edition CD 1 (which prompts for CD 2). Deselect all other products from bottom up to avoid dependency problems.
    3) Oracle 9iFS (choose 9iFS Administration Configuration when the Configuration Assistant runs and click on Configure)
Reboot your PC which will restart HTTP Server and Intelligent Agent and you should now see Internet File Systems in the OEM Console Navigator, rediscover the iFS node if you cant. Ignore the instruction to run ifsomssetup because it will complain that it cannot find oemctl.bat. ifsomssetup is only designed to make OMS aware of 9iFS but you will have run this script previously when you installed 9iFS on the server, so there should be no need to run it again.
Note that if you dont install HTTP Server on Windows NT client then 9iFS Config Assistant will fail to run, giving error: "No output available for this tool". HTTP Server does not need to be installed on Windows 2000 as the iFS Config Assistant will run successfully

  • Connect to the OEM console???

    Hello Experts!
I am trying to connect to the OEM console, but whenever I open it up, it always ask that "I must have specified at least one management server.". ( I really don't know how I can figure out the management server). I am running the oracle 8i Enterprize version(8.16) on my NT server(Local Host), and install OEM (2.1) on same machine.
Any advise or informations will be helpful for me. Thank you.

    Hi Meg,
I don't know Yr technical skill so please excuse me if some in the answer is made for a "junior" skill.
First of all check if the TCP/IP link is available from client to server using the IP address ot eithr the host name.
If ok, try, at the login mask of the Console, to register the EM Server with it's IP Address / Host Name (May be that in the host name You've to specify the domain)
If it does not works, check which kind of errors You receive, either check the logs of the service / client (the logs should be located in the ORACLE_HOME/sysman/log or ORACLE_HOME/sysman/temp directory.
After that, w/o any other information, I don't know which may be the cause of the fault.
    Hope this helps.
    Bye Max

  • Healthcheck in OEM Console

I'm running OEM 9i and I have a simple DG setup with primary and one physical standby.
In the Data Guard Manager GUI window, there is a tab for Properties that allows you to set a Health Check. As I understand it, this is suppose to cause a query of the DG components at the specified time to dtermine status.
My thought was that it would refresh the GUI window an dupdate the Last Refeshed On: area of the screen.
    However, this has not happened.
Opened up a SR with Oracle, but it has been no help. I've attempted to initiate logging and tracing (ref note 177239.1) but I can find no log files are such that are being created.
    1) Does anyone have any information on how this Health CHeck is suppose to work, or does work?
    2) when doing client logging tracing, where does the ouput go?
    thanks

    Hi,
Typically 12.1.0.4.0 cloud console has very good response time and quick navigation
We have seen few issues with navigation being slow but most of them relate to customer configuration /hardware /firewall related

  • Solaris Express Login Problem

    Hello,
I'm a complete rookie with Sun & Solaris, so any help someone could offer would be greatly appreciated!
I have a SunBlade 1500 (SPARC) that I purchased from university surplus. The hard drive was wiped, so I needed to install an OS. I don't have a DVD burner, so I downloaded Solaris Express Text Install, because it was the only OS I could find that would work with SPARC & could be burned to CD. Installation went fine, & the hard drive now boots to the disk. But here is my problem:
At bootup, I am asked to login, and I don't know what to do. During install, I had to make several entries for passwords & such. The "computer name" is solaris, and the "root password" is sunblade1500. I entered Bugs Bunny for "real name", Bugs for "user name", and bugs123 for "user password". I've tried all different combinations of these when prompted for login, but the only ones that seem to work and not give a "login incorrect" message are when I use either "Bugs" or "Bugs Bunny" as login, and "bugs123" as password.
Here is verbatim text of what the screen shows when I try to login with these entries:
    solaris console login: Bugs
    Password: bugs123
Last login: Wed Aug 17 14:06:41 on console
    Oracle Corporation SunOS 5.11 snv_151a November 2010
    Bugs@solaris:~$
After the last line (Bugs@solaris:~$), it just sits there with a prompt for me to enter something to go further, and I don't know what to enter. I've tried root, boot, startx and none of those work. What am I doing wrong, please? Thank you VERY much!

You are logged in as the user bugs* and the system is sitting at a command-line OS prompt.

    You pulled the text-only distribution.
It's a full UNIX but you won't have a GUI.
The install files for the GUI are too much to fit on a CD.
I think it may be time for you to go buy some books.
You can also consider crawling Oracle's site for Solaris documentation.
    Start here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris/overview/index.html
You can also glance at the documentation for your system.
