OEM from a web browser problem with 8i
I'm trying to run OEM via the web browser. I installed Oracle 8i EE (8.1.7) many months ago but cannot get these tools to run in a browser. When I enter the URL http://<machine>:3339/oem_webstage/emwebsite.html I am presented with the options to start OEM Console, DBA Studio or SQL Plus Worksheet. I enter the name of the Oracle Management Server, but when I click one of the OEM options on the page I get a dialog box asking me to Open or Save a file called "oemapp_cgi". The Oracle HTTP server is running fine on the server. I've installed Jinitiator okay.
I noticed in some old documentation that it mentions the Oracle Application Server Listener. This doesn't appear in my list of Services in Control Panel on the server. It also mentions using "emwebsite start" and "emwebsite stop", but again, I can't locate any such program on the server. I inserted the installation CD again, but all components appear to be already installed.
My client machine is running Win2000 SP2, IE5.0
Thanks in anticipation!
Darren
Oracle managment server must be up and running to do so plus that you need to use Jinitiator Version 1.1.8.10 , I tried other versions but it dows not work.
Use : http://localhost:3339

Possible to read data from a web browser into java?
Is it possible to read data from a web browser such as IE or Mozilla into a java applet for use and manipulation? If it is, could someone please post some documentation I could look at or a snip-it of code I could use? Thanks.
This will read the content from a site:

import java.io.*;
class Test {
public static void main(String[] argv) throws Exception {
URL u = new URL("http://www.google.com");
URLConnection uc = u.openConnection();
BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(uc.getInputStream()));
String text;
while( (text = br.readLine()) != null ) {

I bought a new MacBook Pro several months ago. I keep losing my wireless connection (my wife, sitting several feet from me has no problem with her iPad2). I find the quickest fix ix to turn Airport off and back on. Very annoying. Suggestions please?
What kind of wireless router are you using? more importantly which protocol are you connecting with? Are you and wife connecting using the 2.4Ghz band? or do you have a dual band router that offers the 5GHZ band? Are you both connecting vie 802.11 a/b/g or n?
The best thing to do is to go into SYSTEM PREFERENCES and select NETWORK, then select AIRPORT and click on the ADVANCED button.
Under the AirPort tab you should delete all the preferred networks and only add back in your network with the proper security settings and passwords.
If you hold down the option key on your keyboard while clicking on the airport icon at the top on your macbook pro. you'll seesome data that will tell you what band and mode you're connecting at, as well as in an indication of signal strength (RSSI) if you write down and post back that information it'll tell us what's going on. -

How to invoke MIDlet from a Web Browser in Nokia 6230 ?
Hi!
I Would like to invoke MIDlet from a web browse in mobile phone. How to do it ? is it possible ?

Thanks in advance for your help
ralphAs far as I know, BAdI's are user-exits in ABAP and are not exposed, so you cannot call these from the outside.
Perhaps you meant BAPI, which can be called via RFC. There are lots of examples on this topic on SDN. Just do a search and you'll find your answer. -

I cannot sync my bookmarks from Safari Web Browser to my iPad.
When connected to iTunes it lists that my bookmarks are being synced via iCloud, but I cannot see where my bookmarks are being stored on iCloud.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!I have loaded my Firefox bookmarks into Internet Explorer Favorited. I also uninstalled Safari.
I go to iTunes on my phone and see no wat to connect my iPhone to my laptop. I see Music, Shows, etc., the kind of stuff I would expect, but no clue as to how to proceed.
Would you please be so kind to fill me in on how to "That syncing is done via iTunes. Connect the device to iTunes, select it, then go to the Summary page and select to sync bookmarks."?
I am not sure what you mean by "Summary Page"

Adobe Reader clashing with web browser, problem. Help
Hello,
I've been using Foxit Reader before using Adobe Reader. Now when i'm trying to view pdf files in firefox there is this error showing "The Adobe Reader cannot be used to view pdf files in a web browser". I've tried reinstalling adobe reader but this problem persists. Below is a screenshot of the problem. This might be a bug in the program as i have done the needful and set adobe as the deafult pdf file manager or the web browser might be clashing with this version of adobe reader. I'm not sure why this is happening and would like someone to educate me on this.
Please let me know of any solution to this problem. I'm on Windows XP.
Thanks,
Ritwick

When the installation is done according to the documentation,
web access does not work because the scripts that add entries to
the jserv.properties file add duplicate references to
wrapper.env and wrapper.classpath. Look at the jserv.properties
file below and look at the remarked-out (#) lines of the
duplicate references. For example, look at the references to the
wrapper.env=LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Oracle, please note this bug so the web access problems are
minimized when the product is intstalled.
Thank you,
William T.

PDF link of type "open a file" won't work from within web-browser
Hi!
I have a pdf-document in which I have created a link of the type "Open a file" ( in this case it is a word document, but the type of file doesn't matter). When I click this link directly in Acrobat (Acrobat 9 Standard) it works just as excpected, that is, the document opens in word, after I've confirmed to Acrobat that it's ok to open.
Opening the pdf itself from within a web-browser (IE8) is no problem. The document is opened by the Acrobat plug-in, inside the web-browser, as expected. The "hot-spot" to the link is also there, but when I click on the link, Acrobat (I think it's Acrobat and not the web-browser) asks me if it's ok to "Connect to file://///C:/testdoc.doc". And when I confirm this nothing happens (of course, since there are way too many slashes added after the "File:" beginning of the string.
When I doublecheck the link in Acrobat Standard with the link tool, it look perfectly allright (under "Actions" I find the heading "Open a file" and under that the text "File: C\testdoc.doc").
Anyone know where the problem lies?
Thanks for any help!

SwedenI found mention online that linking to a zipped pdf file will cause the browser to download the PDF to the local user's PC where they can complete and submit the form (the mailto: command button works when the PDF is opened locally rather than within a browser window). If there is a more "elegant" solution, I would be grateful for your advice.
