OEM in http

Hi to all,
how to make OEM work with http:// instead of https://
I am trying to make OEM to work with HTTP:// as HTTPS:// is blocked for internal users.
Is there a way to use http://
Oracle Version is : 11g
Windows 2003 Server

  • OEM discovers HTTP server but with wrong port

    Oracle 9i
OEM discovers all my nodes but shows my HTTP server running on port 80 when it's actually on 7777. How to correct this? Where is OEM getting port 80 from? I have looked at the httpd.conf and other config files and can't locate the problem. Please help.
    Thanks
    Dave

    David,
Did you ever get this problem solved? I am having what sounds like the same thing.
In my case the http server discovered is at port 443 which is the SSL port. What should be there (I think) is 7777, the actual port.
    Can anyone help?

  • SSL and webcache on defaut https port

I have followed the note 338071.1 to configure Discoverer 10g (10.1.2) Plus/Viewer For HTTPS (SSL) Access.
Now I can access to the OEM in https, only if I put the port 4446
    https://checlas01:4446/
If I use https://checlas01 the server return an error message (No Response from Application Web Server)
The port 443 is setted in the webcache to redirect website with port numer 4446 (As described in the howto)
    What's wrong ?
    Thx

When you try to access https://checlas01 then this assumes that there is something listening on port 80 for this. Try if https://checlas01:443 works, if so then your webcache is probable working as you set it up. To access https://checlas01, you will have to set up a virtual server which is accessible under port 80 and also add the site and the site to server mapping in the web cache.

  • Set Archivelog Mode in OEM

How can I turn on/off the Archivelog Mode for a database by using the OEM, (say, I launched the OEM at http://My_Machine:1158/oem, after I log on where I go next)?
    Thanks to help.
    Scott

    Thanks for the response.
Now I am on the Recovery Settings page:
    1) Under Media Recovery, I checked ARCHIVELOG Mode*
    2) For the Log Archive Filename Format*, it says: ARC%S_%R.%T, what should I replace with? --Could you give an example?
3)Under Number Archive Log Destination Quota (512B) Status Type, thre are 10 lines, i.e.: so I filled with
    1 C:\Oracle\product\archivelog1
    2 C:\Oracle\product\archivelog2
    3 C:\Oracle\product\archivelog3
    9
    10 USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST n/a VALID Local
    Quesion:
3.1) Is the (format of ) the above entry :"C:\Oracle\product\archivelog1" --Correct?
3.2) It looks like the Quota for each destination is (512B) (byte?). If so, generally, how many such (512 Byte) do I need? I mean on average. And why does it restrict to 512 Byte for each destination?
3.3) If use up ALL the 10 (lines) of destinations above, if I understand it correctly, the total and maximum of the archivelog file is 10 x 512 Bytes -- Is this correct?
3.4) What should I do about Line #10 above, which carries:
    USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST under Archive Log Destination
    n/a under Quota
    [b]VALID under Status
    Local under Type
    Thanks to help.

My System Administrator declined my request telling
me to tell Oracle to fix their code. I did open an SR
and since my initial contact - I have not gotten an
update. Maybe someone went on vacation?even if your SR is accepted as a bug i'm certain a patch would take a few weeks if not months, because there's an easy workaround. i reported a similar issue with 10.1.0.4 and it was fixed in 10.2.0.1.
it seems your sysadmin doesn't know how long oracle needs to solve such trivial problems.

Failed to contact the OMS at the HTTP URL set in /apps/apsp1/oracle/emhome/agent10g/sysman/config/emd.propertiesDid you check that? It seems configuration file 'emd.properties' points to a URL, which cannot be resolved.

  • OEM DBControl Ports In Use

    Hello...
I've been having trouble connecting to OEM EM (http://host:1158/em). The database and applications are running just fine, but I cannot connect to OEM...the web page just times out. I'm running 10gR2 (10.2.0.1) on Linux RHEL4.
After reading some posts, I decided to drop and recreate my OEM Repository.
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreateAlthough the repository created successfully, I got an error saying that dbcontrol could not start up as ports were in use. This is the only database instance running on this machine. I'm confused as to why it would be saying this.
Here's the output from the command, the logs, and a netstat -l listing.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thx

...so should I just change port 1158 to something else in emoms.properties, emd.properties, and http-web-site.xml? Are there any other ports I should remap as well?
I still don't understand why I should have to do this when this is a fresh install of Linux and Oracle. It doesn't make sense to me why this is happening. It was working initially until I rebooted one day and then it all stopped.
I did drop and recreate the OEM repository but that didn't fix anything.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thx!

    Hi,
I want to configure OEM to check alert log every 15mins for a messge ORA-xxxx and send out a email when it see that error message. Can someone tell me how to configure this in OEM.

    Hi,

  • OEM DRIVERS

I can not install USB driver (downloded form hp support site). It is asking for OEM driver.

    Hello v-yamliu,
Thank you for your response, I have managed to install some drivers but not the others, my deployment fails (with an error advising invalid drivers) with certain drivers which I placed in $OEM$ folder.  I am including a screenshot with drivers which
deploy successfully.  However, there are other drivers and some Intel software which I would like to deploy but this keeps failing during an image deployment run with the above error.  I am loading the following software and drivers which can be
    found on Toshiba OEM site:
    http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/ultrabook/z930/pt235a-04d04x/download?os=25
    Drivers with install issues:
    Toshiba Fingerprint Utility
    Intel Management Engine Interface
    Ericson 3G driver
    Bluetooth Stack
    Intel Ship SW Installation Utility
    Intel Proset
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
    Intel Rapid Start Technology Software
    ALPS Pointing Device Driver
Additionally, I am confused about this whole .inf file deployment using distribution shares, I followed this article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766192(v=ws.10).aspx
I followed the steps but my deployment failed with a invalid driver error again.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Re-Installing Windows 7 Using Recovery Media (DVD's)

    Notebook: HP-430 Notebook
    OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)
    HDD: 298 GB
When i newly bought my HP-430 notebook, I re-partitioned HDD using some other third party software.I created one additional partition (M:\). Here is the info, of how i had repartitioned....
    C:\  - 100GB (changed from 284 GB to 100 GB).
D:\  - Did not make any changes.
M:\  - 184 GB (Created a drive by my self).
Then after some days for testing purpose i thought of using recovery manager. So i run the setup and chose the First option (System Restore) which said that it will only reformat the system drive (C:\), and will not perform any other HDD changes. But to my surprise it deleted/reformated the full HDD, and i lost all my documents, music, photos, and all my important files, which i had stored/backed up on M:\ (which i had created)....
Can some one tell me why the hack this happened.....????
Then now, next point. After recovery manager had restored the OS, i again repartitioned it, But this time with Windows Disk Management Tool. But Windows Disk Management didnt allow me to shrink(resize) the C:\(Systemdrive) less than 150 GB. So i resized C:\ to 150 GB from 284 GB, and created one more drive (M:\) of size 147 GB. And i deleted the Recovery Drive (D:\), but i have created the Recovery DVD's before deleting Recoevery Drive from my HDD.
Again now its time for me to reinstall Windows 7 using Recovery media, as i have messed up with some system files while installing a theme for Windows 7, and now my OS is completely unstable. So now i want to reinstall windows 7, but I cant understand which option to chose in recovery manager (when run from Recovery DVD's)
    Options shown in recovery manager
    1. Recover using Microsoft Recovery
    2. System Recovery (The option which i had chosen for the first time and got all my stuff deleted)....it says it only reinstalls the OS and wont perform any other HDD changes.
    3. Minimised Image Recovery
    4.Factory Reset.
So now my question to you guys is that.......which option do i chose in recovery manager so that all my backed up content and my stuff on M:\ (which i created) wont be deleted..and the OS will be reinstalled.....
    PLIZZZZZ HELPPPPPPPPPPPP.........................
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
I don't believe that any of the recovery options from the Disc will retain your custom partition - As far as I know, the only time you will get a prompt to keep a custom partition is when using the 'Minimized Image Recovery' option from the Recovery Partition D which you have removed.
You could try the following work-around.
Download the correct Windows 7 Disc Image from the link below - this must be exactly the same version as your OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the version you would need to download.
    Windows-7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit
Use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.
Use the disc you create to perform the installation - when you get to the option to choose the type of installation, choose Custom and select the C partition.
When asked, enter the Windows activation key found on the underside of your notebook, then when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.

  • HDD failure, I'd like to know how to get Windows 7 back on it.

Hello everyone, I've had a HDD issue lately, but before I move on to describe my issue, here are the specs of my notebook:
    HP Pavilion dv6-3264ca
    AMD Triple-Core CPU 2.2 Ghz
    6GB RAM
    128MB ATI Graphic Card
    750GB Toshiba HDD
    Windows 7 64-bit
    The issue:
Recently I've had a very unfortunate HDD failure. The recovery partition wouldn't even load. I tried booting my notebook on Linux with the HDD still attached, and it wouldn't read. I extracted the HDD and placed it in an HDD-enclosuer and it still wouldn't load on Windows XP or Vista or 7. It would however read in the device manager of Windows and also in the BIOS.
I needed to extract some high-priority data from there so I managed to retrieve all my data safely through a data recovery service, but now the drive is rendered useless. I was told a low-level format might be able to help it be usable again, and if that were to happen, the recovery partition would then be removed in the process.
In addition to that, I would like to install Windows 7 64-bit onto the drive, but the notebook box did not come with an installation CD, which is quite frustrating. Is there any way HP can let me download Windows 7 through some warranty service?
I have a one-year warranty on my laptop.
So in closing, I would like to know if I can get Windows 7 back onto my HDD for free, or if I need to go about buying Windows 7 again.
Any advice from you kind folks?

    Hi,
    Here are Two options.
    1.  If you have ( or can borrow ) a retail Windows 7 installation disc that is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the exact retail version you would need.
If you don't have access to a retail disc, you can create an installation disc yourself - just download the correct Disc Image from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD.
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-windows-7-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-link...
Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the underside of your notebook when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.

Any additional drivers you may need can be found Here.
    2.  You can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below - these cost around $30 if you live in the US.

If you have any problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.

  • Download tool part of iso files?

I have a 2 year old 640 gig dv7 laptop and I received the imminent "hard disk failure" message. So, I backed up the hard drive (8 dvds) and made recovery disks (6 dvds). I bought a new Seagate hard drive of 500 gigs and installed it. I then started the recovery process.
I then received a message that said my new hard disk was smaller than the original and to not continue. I did try four different installs with no success, getting a blank screen except for the hp logo on the center of the screen and a press esc for menu.
I have read the advice of trying the iso file download via either dvd or usb. My question is: the directions talk about using the w7 dvd/usb download tool. Is this download tool part of the iso files? How do I get it onto my computer first? I know it's probably simple, but it would be nice for me to get that clarified before doing the downloads.
    Thx.

    Hi,
As the error you're encountering is just due to the fact that Recovery Discs will not install correctly on a drive smaller than the one they were created on, I would just burn the correct ISO to a blank DVD and use this to perform the installation - there's no need to create a bootable USB drive unless you have a problem with the optical drive on your notebook.
Before trying the following, make sure you can still read the 25 Character Product Activation key on your Windows COA label ( 5 blocks of 5 alpha/numeric sets ).
An example of a COA Label can be seen Here.
You can create an installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the correct Disc Image ( this must be the exact same version that originally came with your notebook ) from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.  These Images are clean and from a well-respected source, however there are only limited versions available.
    Windows-7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit
Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the COA Label when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.

  • HP Recovery Error

Product Name: HP Pavilion dv6 6119tx
    Product Number: QB365PA#ACJ
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Error Message: "Restoration Incomplete. Please select one of 3 options: Save Log, Details, Retry"
I have a set of recovery discs. I have tried Factory reset on my system(using CDs) and thus my entire HDD has been formatted. While doing the recovery the progress the progress bar always stopped at 40%(tried 3 times), I even waited patiently for 4 hours to let the process finish but ultimately got the error:" Destination drive not found". I did HDD tests and found everything OK.
The recovery manager worked fine till 25% and then it asks to insert the 2nd disc after which it again works fine till 40%. The process always stucked at 40%! So, I though there could be a read error associated with the 2nd disc. So I tried to copy the disc#2(on desktop) using ImageBurner and it reported a read error after 63% copy; which confirms there's a problem with ths disc#2.
But I don't know how, MagicISO maker was successfull in copying the disc#2 and so I burned the image on a new blank disc. I again started the recovery process and this time it didn't stuck anywhere! So, after successfully copying data from all the 3 recovery discs, I got a prompt to click on continue button for restart(normal, no error). But after restart, the problem starts: cmd appears for 3-4 secs then a sreen appears saying: "Restoration Incomplete. Please select one of 3 options: Save Log, Details, Retry"
After clicking on "Retry", it prompts me to enter recovery media. I enter the disc#1 and the it prompts me to click on continue button to restart. After restart, again the  cmd appers, this time something different written on it: "upDrvLetter: C:".
It waits for 3 secs, then shows some error lines like "file not found"(all this is printed in cmd). Then finaaly I again get the "Restoraton Incomplete" error with same 3 options. I again clicked on "Retry", "Continue", again same cmd screen with "upDriveLetter: C:" and blah-blah-blah!
What to do? After all this, I have performed an erased operation using KillDisk(writes the block 00 on every byte of the sector. I spent 3 hours for that). Performed HDD tests and memory test using BIOS. And again tried recovery with my recovery discs, but no succes! Again samething happens!
What shall I do now? I don't want to purchase a new set of recovery discs. Please tell me some alternative to this. What can O do with the damageg or corrupt disc#2?

    Hi,
Assuming that this is an error with the Recovery Discs, there is a straight forward work around if you have ( or can borrow ) a retail Windows 7 installation disc that is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - ie as your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the exact retail version you would need.

  • Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

I'm using HP dv6 7043 cl. My system was really slow. It was taking almost 7 mins in startup. I tried to reboot but I think I chose the wrong option while doing it. I pressed F9 button. It asked me to choose DVD-R or usb. I chose dvd option as my recovery was made on discs. Later it gave me the hp recovery menu options. There, I chose system recovery. It did it successfully but now the windows is not starting. It says Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. Can someone please help and tell me how can I solve this issue and again get back my original windows?

    Hi,
