Oem in Oracle 11

This is probably the wrong place to ask this, but I can't find what I'm looking for using the search.
I've just installed Oracle 11 for Linux (Ubuntu) and I'm trying to find oemapp. Did they do away with it in 11?

Well there's a dedicated forum for Enterprise Manager,
Enterprise Manager
But I certainly see many people ask the questions here.
Or simply read the document
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28319/emca.htm#BABDEHCE
and post questions afterward if any.

    I have the same problem.
    My solution is:
1.add OFS group name mapping VIP in DNS
    2.add VIP in MSCS manager
    3.delete VIP in OFS manager
    4.add VIP in OFS manager

  • Rediscover using OEM in Oracle 10.2.0.4

    Hi,
Can somebody post detailed steps as to how to rediscover using OEM. (I have performed at the session level)
My system is Oracle 10.2.0.4 RAC on RHEL.
Example: Steps to rediscover an instance (or) agent (or) listener using OEM.
To put it in simple terms...mys listener is showing DOWN status in OEM, but is actually UP when I go in and check at the session level.
I do not want to restart the agent at the sesion level which I have already done. Kindly help.
Edited by: Redstorm on Feb 24, 2009 7:09 PM

Do you have a lot of jobs scheduled via OEM ? (you can save the definitions in the job library and re-submit them later if not. You may also have to reset the backup preferences etc.)
This seems strange. Is there an error message with the listener status (click on the Down targets from the homepage.)
Also can you provide the output from the agent status.
    cheers,

    hi
some problem i was face yesterday..
u want to manage 2nd db through OEM but ur not able to do so.
first what is ur db name 1st and 2nd...
and what is way u use to access OEM if u use OEM through webbrowser then what URL u give...
if u give http:/"host-name":5500/em/console --- this is for ur first db..
5500 is a oracle port to access db through OEM..
then u find out ur 2nd db port. for u do this cmd.
    u go cmd prompt
    cmd>set oracle_sid = "2nd db name"
    cmd>emctl status dbconsole
after enter this cmd. u will get URL AND PORT FOR UR 2nd database..
    good luck

  • How to activate OEM in oracle 10G

Hi, I want to know how to activate oracle enterprise manager, not grid control. This is and old database in oracle 10g,
running in IBM server with OS AIX 5.3. It was unused, but now we need to execute some process in it, and I need a tool
    to help with this process.
I got other databases in other server, but they are in clusters (RAC), with these DBs I don't have any problems,
when I go to ORACLE_HOME/bin I see emctl, but in the old db when I go to ORACLE_HOME/bin
I don't see emctl. My doubt is, how can I activate OEM in this DB? Do I need to download something?
    Thanks for your help.

regardsAfter installing 10 , you have the OEM Version same as oracle software. for production database you have to buy license for OEM to use.
    start and stop the DB-Console
    $ emctl start dbconsole
    $ emctl stop dbconsole
    $ emctl status dbconsole

  • OEM client (oracle 10g)

If anybody knows OEM client for oracle 10g ,Please provide me free download link
    thanks a lot,
    Dharma

If you are looking for the same interface as the 9i OEM Java Console - get the Database 10g Client CD. Be aware that the interface is deprecated and Oracle recommends you use the new browser-based client.

  • Configuring OEM in oracle 9i version

In oracle 10g we can use emca command to configure oem..
is there any command to configure oem in 9i data base .

Yasser, -prelim is feature of Sql*Plus 10g and latter.
So as long you have any Sql*Plus 10g or latter version (ex. from client installation) and a valid net service name to connect to your 9i database you should be able to establish a "backdoor" connection.
    You can do the following:
$sqlplus -prelim /nologand once you are in, just connect to the database using SYSDBA account
    SQL> connect sys/password@net_service_name as sysdba
    Prelim connection establishedCheers,

  • OEM Oracle10g / Oracle Databases = 9i

    Hello,
is it possible to manage the Oracle Databases previous versions : 7.3.4 and/or 8i, using OEM (from Ora10g or from Ora9i) ?
    Thank you to help me
    Robert

I know it is possible to use OEM 9i to manage an 8i database. OEM 9i is backward compatible with 8i database. If you need the full functionality of OEM 9i, then you might need to install the agent in a different home on the 8i instance server. Otherwise, you can live with the functionality provided by 8i agent.

  • Configure OEM in Oracle 10.2.0.4 Two nodes RAC

    Hi all,
I'm having some troubles making rigth configuration for OEM in my RAC.
Everything during installation or configuracion seems ok but later it's all wrong.
    The point is:
Global database is ON and every of two nodes is also ON. I can accees it from inside and outside the server nodes.
CRS shows everything OK with all services and resources ONLINE.
    emctl status dbconsole -clusterhttps://node2:5500/em/console/aboutApplication
    EM Daemon is running.
    emca -displayConfig dbcontrol -clusterINFO:
    **************** Current Configurationl ****************
    INSTANCE NODE DBCONTROL_UPLOAD_HOST
    inode2 node2 node2
    inode1 node1 node2
    So everything should be OK
When I try to access OEM, it says that status can't be acess and offers me the choice of START or BEGIN RECOVER
When I go through START the two nodes are up but can't access the instances.
So I know that something has wrong configuracion but I don't know WHAT!!!
    Any Idea???
    Thanks in advance

Start looking at the logs under $OH/<node_name>/sysman/log - most likely it will offer some clues.
