OEM install

Hi,
1-can we install OEM Grid 10g and OEM 9.2.0 on the same server ?
2-I'm looking for the link to download OEM9.2.0.
Many thanks for your help.

Sure...just use different Oracle homes. However, instead of going thru the process of using 9.2 OEM, why not just install the 10g Java OEM Console (found on the 10g Client CD) which is similar in format to the 9.2 OEM version?

  • Windows fresh oem install

Hi, so basically i need a oem windows 8 iso to install on my laptop (hp 15-n278sa) which uses the encrypted product key key on bios. Any help/guide throughs would be much apreciated as i have never done a oem install before.

    Hi there @JacobMarrinan
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
In answer to your request for an OEM Windows installation disk for your 15-n278sa, you can look at getting a set of recovery disks for Windows 8.1 as you will need a licensed copy of the operating system. Alternatively you can get a retail copy.
What operating system is currently installed on your system?
Assuming it has not been deleted, you should also have a recovery partition with an image of your factory installation. This will be the operating system you had on purchase of the notebook. To do this sort of reinstall, take a look at the following:
Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8)
Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems (Windows 8)
If the partition is not there, then you can get recovery media for your sytem by following these instructions:
Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive
Let me know if this helps.

  • Non-OEM install disk?

What is a non-OEM install disk? I have various problems withmy computer and someone suggested I use this to do a repair install, though I'm not sure I know what that is or whether I have one.

Something which did not come with your computer, A retail version to be precise. Windows 7 has a feature which allows you to make a repair disc which will allow you to use its recovery tools just like the non-OEM disk.
follow the below given steps in  your computer  and you should have one

    Hope this helps you out

  • OEM Install Discs

Hi - quick question. I understand that OEM install discs are for use only with the original machine that they came with. I was wondering if it is possible to boot the OS onto an external drive from the native machine, and use that drive to start a different model computer? If this is possible, then is it possible to make an image of that external drive, and apply it to the drives of other computers? Essentially a work around for using OEM install discs to install an OS on a different machine type.
As a disclaimer, this is hypothetical... I understand that it breaks the license agreement. I thought of it today and would rather ask others who already know than spend hours trying it to no avail.

We could probably give you a little more guidance... but after reading your post several times... I'm not sure I actually understand what you are trying to do. Are you trying to clone one image on to multiple machines? They would all need to be the same model and version for that to work properly (exactly the same model and version). Although, I'm not clear on what you mean by "boot the OS onto an external drive". Do you mean to clone your internal drive to an external drive... and use that external drive to copy the image to other machines? That you can do (again... provided the machines are identical). I won't get into the licensing issue. If you have a family license for OS X, you can install it on up to five machines. I can see valid reasons for wanting all of those machines to start with identical configurations vs. setting up each independently. Chances are... the machines would probably have 10.5 on them anyway... so I wouldn't see an issue if you're putting an image of the same OS... but just standardized across the machines.

  • How to create an install medium of Windows 8 with custom programs (like an OEM install)

    Hello all,
I am interested in setting up a small business of making PCs for people around my area, and was curious if there was any way I could install Windows 8.1 on those computers with custom programs (i.e. Browsers, Anti-virus, etc.), but not have to create a user
account to do so? I want people to get these computers and go through the regular setup account process when they turn them on for the first time, just like with any computer from a regular OEM. Basically, I am trying to create my own OEM instillations of
    Windows.
Thanks for any help, and let me know if I need to clarify anything.
    Graham

    Hi,
Andreas is right, we have many ways to deploy Windows 8.1 like OEM.
You can also try the ADK:
Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK) for Windows 8.1
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/details.aspx?id=39982
The Windows ADK enables two key scenarios: Windows deployment and Windows assessment.
Windows Deployment is for OEMs and IT professionals who customize and automate the large-scale installation of Windows on a factory floor or across an organization.

  • Office 14 oem -Install

My new Lenovo G560 laptop (2 weeks old)  has a folder  (1.3GB)  with  office 14 oem ready to be installed but I need a serial key and cannot find one either on the laptop or in the 'box'.  Is this a normal occurrence? Could it be trial software?, it doesn't appear to be.
I should ask Lenovo but here in the UK the support is 'shocking', and the telephone number on offer is not toll-free or even a normal rate number.
    Any help would be appreciated

Thank you, I think you are correct and this has been included in the OEM version of Windows 7 by Microsoft as a 'tempter'.
quite 'pushy really and it is occupying nearly 1.5GB of my hard drive.  In due course I shall delete.

is it just enterprise manage? nevertheless there is still a license implication to consider. Will this be a production environment?

  • 0x8030024 during OEM Install

    Hi all,
We just received our Dell PowerEdge R515 (incl. OEM for 2012 ST) with a PERC 700 controller. In addition we've setup the following RAID configuration:
    - DISK 0+1: RAID 1 with two Virtual Disks of 110GB and 308GB
    - DISK 2-12: RAID 5 with one Virtual Disk of 16762.5 GB
During the installation of Server 2012 and selecting the drive where to install the system we receive the following message.
Does anybody have an idea what the issue might be ? I've already done the following:
    - Started installation via a different boot device (USB) instead of the DVD
    - Started installation via a different installation provided (ISO from Volume Licensing instead of the OEM)
    - Recreated the Virtual Disks
    Regards,
    Maarten De Detter

    Hi,
The article below introduced three methods to fix the issue, which you could have a try:
    Method 1 – Re-Insert the Windows 7 DVD
Method 2 – Change boot order
Method 3 – Unplug SATA drives
Fix “Windows is unable to install to the selected location” in Windows 7 or Vista

  • How can I reduce the Microsoft Windows footprint to something closer to OEM install?

When windows arrives pre-installed on my shiny new laptop , the footprint is always pretty small - around 18 to 20GB depending on the version of Windows (Ultimate, Pro, Home, etc).  Oh, and I'm writing in regards to win 7, though have have win 8 one
unit, but no intention of upgrading the others.
But software has to be kept up to date and what used to be a 20GB footprint on my 128GB SSD,  even after using Windows disk clean,  has become 50 GB for Windows, 20GB of which is just for the installer directory and 10GB for just the $PatchCache$.
Compressing this folder, as suggested by the Microsoft Answers forum produces negligible results.
Can't these files be moved to an external device?  I recognize the device would need to be there at boot time during installation processes that require reboots.
IMHO - MSFT needs to rethink it's carelessness of going from 15% of my new system to 40% of my system just for Windows in a little over a year.

    Hi soho11,
Thank you for visiting the MSDN forum.

  • Installing XP with OEM + Upgrade

I found this post in a recent thread:
    From: Blah_jg
I had the same issue using a OEM full version of XP Pro. The OEM version did not present me with the option to reformat. I had an Windows XP Update version from a previous PC install. I used it and selected the "repair" option. The repair option gave me a command prompt. At the command prompt I used the format c: /FS command. You can find all the options for this DOS command by doing google search. I did have to first format first NTFS then I ran it again and formatted FAT32. The update disk was used to format only not install. Once that was done, I was able to install the OEM version on this newly formatted boot camp volume. I now have my bootcamp disk formatted to FAT32 with XP on it. I am able to browse the windows partition from Mac OS and drag and drop files to folders. I also installed Fusion afterwards and it recognized it and works great as well.
Can someone make sense of all of this? And then possibly post a step by step guide as to how to do this? Because I have both an OEM version of XP SP2 AND an upgrade installation disc so I will hopefully be able to do this but I'm not understanding what this user did.
When I insert the upgrade disc, I pressed "R" and got to the command prompt screen of the Recovery Console. But I don't understand what to type here. And also, is this after I've installed Windows? Or before that but after partitioning with Boot Camp? Or before everything? It's not clear in this post.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Joe

I know, it's not very well said here.
Basically what I want to do is install Windows XP with SP2 through Boot Camp on my Mac. But it seems anyone who has an OEM full version of XP never gets the screen that allows them to reformat the Boot Camp partition to FAT or NTFS format. It's supposed to happen during the first phase of the XP install (the one with the blue screen background and that looks like a DOS screen). In the Boot Camp manual, on page 9 is where we pick the partition to use, ie. the Bootcamp one, and then on page 10 is where it says we choose how to reformat that partition. Well it is page 10 of the manual that we don't see when we try to install an OEM full version of XP. So the install works up to 100% and then the Mac reboots but then gives the black screen of "Disk error, press any key to continue" which is a dead screen where nothing works. Sometimes the disc is spat out also and the 2nd phase of the installation with the XP screen, as opposed to the DOS one, never happens. Also, on the Mac partition, the Boot Camp partition appears on the desktop still called "BOOTCAMP" and it is filled with files and folders belonging to XP.
Now this user has apparently had the same issue with the OEM full version... got as far as I and many others on the forums here have, but then also had another copy of XP, one that he called an "Update" version, which I think might be the same as an upgrade version. I too have an upgrade version (an Academic Upgrade version of XP with SP2). When that is inserted after the first XP disc is spat out, it takes us to that blue DOS screen that we see with the first XP installation disc but we now have 3 different options. One is to "Exit" one is to try to install XP, which won't work because it ALONE is not a full version of XP, and the third option is to "Repair" an XP partition.
Now for this user, he/she knew what to do after choosing the "Repair" option... it gives a black DOS screen with the DOS prompt and according to the user, we can reformat the Boot Camp partition using a specific command prompt (basically perform the step that is missing from the manual) and somehow complete the rest of the installation. This is where I get lost.
I firstly don't understand how to repair/reformat in that black DOS screen step, nor when in the entire process (starting from partitioning in Boot Camp and ending with the first XP full OEM edition being spat out, I'm supposed to do the repair option. Do I do it after the partition is complete in Boot Camp and before I begin installing the OEM version? Or at the very end of the OEM install... either way, I don't know how to do it anyway.
So I was wondering if someone had done this before or if the user could post a detailed description of the steps and how to perform each one for the uninitiated like me who find DOS just impossible to work with.
    *takes a breath*
    Thanks,
    Joe

  • How to move an OEM grid control install?

    oem: 10.2.0.5
    Redhat: 5
our oem server is going to be taken away and used for something else. we want to clone the oem install and move it. Reinstalling OEM on redhat 5 is difficult. It has to be done at the command line since 10.2.0.1 is not compatible with redhat 5 and we have to upgrade to 10.2.0.5.
if we move the database, and oem install to a new server, what needs to be done with the oem install to make this work? I can get the database started pretty easily. We would have to change IPs around. What files do we have to go into to change IPs?
yes I know we need to reconfigure the agents.

in normal situations people who don't have anything positive to say shouldn't say anything at all. you have been a jerk on every forum you have been on for years.
I did read the installation and configuration guide. I don't see anything about how if I install a 10.2.0.1 OEM on linux 5(which is not compatible) and at the command line to make it work, then do a command line upgrade and configure it to 10.2.0.5, is this easy to clone to a new server.
don't respond. if he does can a moderator just delete it? anyway to get him barred from posting in any thread I create?
