OEM location 9.0.4

Am I missing something with 9.0.4? I don't see any way to register a mapping or a process flow for execution as an OEM Job. Assuming there's no hooks for this with the app, what's a workaround I can use? I.e. how do I call a workflow process/package from the OS (solaris in my case)?

Paul,
The OEM location is only there if you want to leverage remote node execution. For example, if you want to execute SQL loader on a machine that is not running your runtime environment then you can identify an OEM location to make it run there. The runtime platform supports native execution (on the same node as the service runs) which we assume is at least 99% of the cases.
You do not need this location to schedule jobs (or schedule process flows). You can find scripts in <OWB home>\owb\rtp\sql to schedule jobs in OEM or run from the command line.

  • How to use OEM location in OWB?

What is a purpose of oem location in owb 9.2 (9.0.4)?
This location doesn't use in any module and integration with oem realize through oem_exec_template.sql script that manually register in oem.
    How to use this location?

    Dmitry,
This location would be used in the process flow configuration of an individual activity. The location enables you to perform remote node execution. For example, if you wanted to execute SQL loader on a remote node (not the actual target machine) then this would happen via the OEM location. The use of the OEM location would require an Oracle Management Server (OMS) set up and OEM agents locally.

  • OEM Locations don't appear for Process Modules

We are using the OEM/OMS agent for our process module deployment locations. However, when we create a process module, none of our process flow locations are available for selection. I dummyed one up using workflow as the location type and it shows up as an available location for our modules. Why don't the OEM typed locations show up in the location selection drop down for process flow modules?
    Mark

I recently experienced the same problem, but it looks like it's a Windows problem.
What happens to me from time to time is that the files are present, but Windows Explorer does not refresh the Downloads folder view, so any new file seems to be missing, and any downloading file is still shown with the previous download size.
When I change folder view, say for Downloads to Desktop and back to Downloads, or when I close and reopen Windows Explorer, the files appear as they should.
Not sure what causes this bug, but it seems that punctual intensive tasks like unzipping or file copy operations may put Windows Explorer in this stage.

  • Process flow Deployment for OEM

I try to define a process module with an OEM deployment location.
It is not possible to create a new one during the creation wizard.
I'm not able to allocate later on an existing OEM location.
    How cum?
    OWB 9.2.
    Oracle 9i

    Hi Igor,
    Thnx for your response.
I did look already to viewlet but this is the way to schedule jobs to run mappings which are PL/SQL packages.
What i try to do is defining in the OWB tool a process flow and a deployment location for this process flow and there i can't choose to define a location of the OEM type.
I would expect that OWB generates specific code or package for this process flow that i can scheduled using OEM and the oem template.
I will check the things you mentioned maybe they are related but i would be surprised. I would not expect that OWB tool is so depended of the deployment environment.

Please do not jump to conclusions and make assumptions here like 'when will people finally get it??'.  I never said it was a benchmark.  I have also seen many examples of where it's results do not go with conventional performance.  I have a Radeon 9000 that goes faster on glxgears than a Geforce FX 5600 running Nouveau.  Which is the faster card?  The FX by miles.  It is not a benchmark as it can not be compared between configurations.  What I know is that on this individual system, from prior experience over many years when 3D acceleration is working glxgears gets between 300 and 400 fps.  When it is not working it gets less than 10.  That is a fact but does not mean it is benchmarkable.  Yes, a Quake 3 timedemo (I have these numbers too and they very much correlate to glxgears performance for this system given just how slow it is) would be a benchmark but when it runs less than 0.1fps and even the 2D rendering means that navigating the menu is impossible, there just isn't the time to find out.  Hence if playing around with drivers on this system I would use glxgears to check that 3D acceleration is working but not to benchmark.  Glxinfo does not give you all this evidence.
But to clarify, I wouldn't use glxgears as a benchmark, benchmarking is different and I do a lot of that too.

  • Linking Location to Process Flow & Schedule OMB Script in OEM.

    Hi All,
Oracle 9i Warehouse Builder Client: 9.2.0.4.0
Oracle 9i Warehouse Builder Repository: 9.2.0.2.0
I created a process flow in OWB proj1 & selected loc1 as deployment location from the drop down help.
Is it possible to link a different location let us consider Loc2 from different OWB project prj2?
Can OMB PLUS Script invoke OWB Mapping or OWB Process Flow? Also can the OMB Plus Scrpit be scheduled in OEM?
Can someone please let me know ?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Vidyanand

    Hi Vidyanand,
Lots of questions... but I'm not sure what you mean with linking Loc2 from Prj2. Can you elaborate?
Easiest to execute mappings is SQL Plus or EM. You can use the SQL_EXEC_TEMPLATE to do this, take a look at the documentation in execution of mappings...

  • Need OEM 9.2 software dump location

    Hi,
We have a requirement to monitor Application Technology 11.5.9 and generate
REPORTS (capacity management etc) through Oracle Enterprise manager on WINDOWS 32-BIT.Our TARGETS are of LINUX 2.1.
We are not able meet our requirements using following options:
    (1) using EM 10.1.0.5 (on WINDOWS 32-BIT) with AGENT 10.1.0.5 on LINUX 2.1
    (2) using EM 10.2.0.2 (on WINDOWS 32-BIT) with AGENT 10.1.0.5 on LINUX 2.1
    (3) using EM 10.2.0.2 (on WINDOWS 32-BIT) with AGENT 10.2.0.2 on LINUX 2.1
We have limitations for UPGRADING the LINUX 2.1 or going with EM on other
    PLATFORM other than WINDOWS.
So, we need Enterprise Manager 9.2 download. We are not able to find the EM 9i software dump location on OTN site.
Please let me know if anybody knows the ENTERPRISE MANAGER 9i SOFTWARE DUMP location so that we
    can download.

You will find OEM 9.2 on the oracle 9i Server or 9i Client Download/CD. If you do not have it, request it via SR from Oracle Support.

  • How to add Software Library Location in OEM 11g to facilitate patching.

    Hi,
I'd like to use patching deployment to patch a gold copy oracle home, that is not being actively used.
I'm tryingt to configure the deployment setup and on the screen where it says.
    Information
You are adding a Software Library location for the first time. Provisioning Archive (PAR) files in the directories $OMS_ORACLE_HOME/sysman/prov/paf and $OMS_ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/deploymentprocedures will be uploaded.
Add a new Software Library by specifying directory location. In case of multiple Oracle Management Service (OMS) setup, specify normal preferred credentials for each host running OMS.
         * Software Library Directory Location
    when I enter a location , e.g
    /oracleinstall/software/oemsoftwarelib
    whos persmissions are as follows
    drwx------ 2 oracle oinstall 4096 Feb 23 12:25 oemsoftwarelib
I get just get the following
Internal Error has occurred. Check the log file for details.
does anybody know what the problem might be and which log exactly to look in?
    thanks

    Hi,
You should look at OMS log/trace files in the .../gc_inst/em/EMGC_OMS<n>/sysman/log directory to get clues on the error.
Check Support Note 1156825.1, which documents a similar symptom.
Note that in a multi-OMS environment, the software library location must be readable and writable from all OMS hosts.

  • OEM 12c - Files located at ../gc_inst/WebTierIH1/config/OHS/ohs1

    Dear all.
I'm facing a "issue" that I still haven't figured out what it could be. I've got a OMS server (Enterprise Manager 12c ) and the Middleware location is: */u01/app/Middleware/*.
Today, around few minutes, from 04:26 PM to 04:29 PM, a lot of core files were generated at */u01/app/Middleware/gc_inst/WebTierIH1/config/OHS/ohs1* location, they have about 125 MBytes each file, and I don't know what these files are used for. I'm affraid of deleting them and having some problems later.
Does anyone know what are these files? Could them be deleted?
    Some files generated:
    -rw------- 1 oracle oinstall 125M Aug 20 16:29 core.19124
    -rw------- 1 oracle oinstall 125M Aug 20 16:29 core.19154
    -rw------- 1 oracle oinstall 125M Aug 20 16:29 core.19155
    -rw------- 1 oracle oinstall 125M Aug 20 16:29 core.19217
    -rw------- 1 oracle oinstall 125M Aug 20 16:29 core.19247
    -rw------- 1 oracle oinstall 125M Aug 20 16:29 core.19278
    Thanks a lot.
    Bruno Palma

You should never see core files. These files are HTTPD server core dumps. You should raise an SR with oracle support and upload the core files where they can be assessed properly, to find the reason for the core dump.
If you don't have an oracle support contract, these files can simply be deleted.

  • Office 2013 OEM and Group Policies

Has anyone been able to apply group policy to a OEM (or Retail) version of Office 2013.
Particularly I am not able to set the Workgroup Templates Location.
    Thank you.

1st, group policy for Office 2013 will apply to all license editions of Office 2013.
2nd, however, there is no such build-in policy for setting the Workgroup Templates Location. To manage the Workgroup Templates Location, we need to add the "SharedTemplates" string under the following registry key (via group policy
    or any method you prefer):
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\General
The workgroup templates location is stored in the
    SharedTemplates
    string value.
    Max Meng
    TechNet Community Support
Max that doesn't appear to be the case.  We have volume media and click to run installs of Office 2013 and the latter simply do not pick up the Group Policy settings whilst the volume media installs do.

    Thanks in Advance!!

    Hi Roshni,
I'm not familiar with this error....seems like issue with configuration of the machine?
    Some questions.
    1. Is there an SR already filed on this that I could look at to get more details?
    2. Which version of EM 12c are you using?
    3. Which version of WLS are you trying to clone...looks like 10.3.5? Does it have any FMW components deployed to it...looks like perhaps SOA by the name of the directory?
    4. Are you trying to clone from components saved in the software library or from a reference installation?
    5. Are you trying to clone the Middleware Home with binaries as well as domain configuration? Or are you just trying to clone domain configuration?
Once I get more details, I will look into and get back to you.
    Thanks,
    Nicole

  • Windows 8 and OEM media with updates and software

Recently i had an idea to create a custom Windows 7, 8 OEM image that includes all the Windows updates and also has couple of softwares inside it (adobe reader, java, flash etc). I used MDT to do this. I came to this idea because every time i prepared
a computer for my customers it took a really long time with all the updates and software i had to install. When i started imaging Windows 8 i stumbled upon a little problem. As everybody knows Windows 8 OEM keys are no longer located on the stickers that are
on the computers. As i have understood it they are basically located somewhere in the BIOS. So, finally to my question :) .  Is it somehow possible to retrieve the OEM key from the BIOS so that i could use my custom OEM image ? Right now i can't activate
my Windows 8 OEM's because there are no way for the operating system to access the key that is in the BIOS.

    Hi,
The OEM license allows the organization to use that pre-installed image on that OEM PC only. If the PC fails in the future and the image needs to be restored, the organization needs to use the original recovery media provided by the OEM to re-install the
    image.
I suggest you consult with  the manufacturer for more information.
