OEM login

Hi,
My tnsnames is not working & due to which I am not able to login in OEM.
Is there any way to bypass this so that only giving userid & password I will able to log on to my local database using OEM?
Regards,
Indraneel

Hello!
What do you mean by tnsnames is not working? Is there any error message ?
You can try Oracle Net Manager to help you fix it!
Another option is using the OEM Console's menu:
Navigator / Add database to tree... (add a database manually)
and provide the information required.
You must pay attention to the required services that make your database up, running and accessible, even if it's your local database ( you didn't specify the OS ).

  • "E-mail report" feature doesnt work as it supposed to ?

    hi,
I've created a custom public report in OEM and i'm scheduling it with email sending. However, the mail i'm receiving is:
From : wrong value -> it contains the value from 'reply to' field in the schedule folder
the content is just a link to the OEM login page !!!!
i thought at least i will have a link to the report and even the report output in the mail received.
Is it a bug or is it the normal behavior ???
    Thanks for your replies
    Christophe

Apart from the fact that you need to set the "Schedule report" checkbox and E-Mail recipient in the Report Definition you don't need to do any additional setup.
So in the report definition go to the Schedule Page
    Check "Schedule Report"
Check "E-mail report each time the scheduled report completes"
Enter the "Reply To" (Senders address)
Enter the "To" (Recipient to receive the e-mail)

  • How to install EM Grid Control ?

    Hi,
I try to install EM Grid Control on my Solaris system.
Choosing "Installing EM with new database" the installer will terminate with the error message: "SYSTEM password is wrong."
Does anybody know wich is the correct one ?
Choosing "Installing EM on existing datbase" everything works fine. But I'm unable to login ?
Which are the correct username/passwords I have to enter when starting the brower at http/<hostname>:1810/em ?
Thanks for any help or ideas.
    Regards,
    Rainer

I am also having this problem using the XP version. Initially I got around it by selecting the "Restore" rather than "start" and I only got the request for the database login, which is initially for "sys" your installation password. This worked the first time I had the problem. Now I have successfully migrated and Access db to the intallation and when I tried to take the database down it prompted me with the same OS user and password combination followed by database user and password as before. But, now there is no way to get pass the OS username/password requirement. I have made multiple attempts as requested and nothing works. I have changed the username and password as administrator at the XP control panel and nothing works to satisfy this OEM login prompt. Thus I can't take the database down. I would appreciate any help in this area. Kind regards, Michael.

  • Error while login to 12c R2 OEM grid

I am using repository database SYSMAN password, to enter into 12c R2 OEM grid.
Please guide me how to get into the grid as sysman user. I tried with changing the repository DB sysman password, even getting the same error with new password also.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Jimmy Gupta,
    Verify the following:
    1. lsnrctl status
    2. Verify the following document:
12.1.0.2 : Login to Console Fails With "Authentication failed. If problem persists, contact your system administrator." (Doc ID 1493151.1)
    3. If nothing works, emoms.trc file would help us to understand the error tracked during the login.

  • How do you login to OEM - What is the username/password?

    Hi everyone:
I installed Oracle9i Application Server on Windows 2000. The install was successful and I was able to install the database infrastructure as well as the complete options (forms, reports, portal, wireless, etc.) options for the application server. I tried to logon to the Enterprise Manager Website to change some settings in my database but could not log on. I get the welcome screen (connection is fine with the default port settings) but it asks me for a login username and password. I tried the traditional sys, system but I get no where. What does the defualt installation assign in order to gain acess to the OEM website?

    Hi Jafar,
I too facing the same problem. My enterprise manager connected with sysman/oem_temp after that i changed the password. From the OEM when i click monitor 9IAS, its asking for the network password in the browser.
Please let me know when u find a solution. Thanks in advance. [email protected]

  • Sys login as sysdba fails in OEM

System: Oracle Database 10g 10.1.0.2.0 with Oracle Database 10g Patch 10.1.0.4.0 on a SUN Solaris 9 SPARC machine.
Background:I've made a whole database backup and been trying to recover it back again. First i've tried that with RMAN but i didn't got all my data back in place.
Now i'm trying to run the recovery via the Enterprise manager. I create a job for it, my databases shuts down and I get the possibility to "perform recovery"
Problem:When i'm on the login page to continue with the recovery i have to fill in the Host Credentials and the Database Credentials as sysdba.
I know for sure that what i fill out in those fields is correct. The problem is that i can't login.
As Database Credentials do i fill in for username: sys and password: the correct paswd. It says that the Role = SYSDBA.
the error message: Unable to connect to the database.
    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
Neither can i log in with sys, password as sysdba via the Enterprise Manager when the database is up and running.
Things i've tried:login with sqlplus works fine
sqlplus "/ as sysdba"SQL> connect sys/<paswd> as sysdba
    Connected.
    SQL> show user
    USER is "SYS"
Question:How can I solve the problem so i can log with sys users as sysdba with the Enterprise Manager?

    Hi,
it's not a stupid question, are you really sure your password is correct? In your sqlplus session OS authentification is used, password is irrelevant (OEM does not use OS authentification). Try 'connect sys/abcxyz as sysdba' , it will work. There's a trick to check, if the password is correct.
Issue 'connect sys/<passwd>' (omit as sysdba). If you enter a correct password you will see ORA-28009 (SYS can only connect as SYSDBA or SYSOPER) , otherwise you see ORA-01017 .
In the case of ORA-28009 (password IS correct) there seems to be something wrong with the password file or pfile/spfile:
    - REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE is set to NONE
    - The password file does not exist
    - The password supplied does not match the one in the password file
    - The password file been changed since the instance was started
The password is located in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs, it can be recreated using orapwd utility, REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE should be set to EXCLUSIVE .

  • Login as sysdba to OEM

    Hi,

I never excluded explicitly 'english' from the list, so I don't know what will happen doing this. But by default on a non-english server (that's at least my experience) you ever have preselected 'english' and your native language (in my case 'german'). I guess it's the same for OP, of course 'french' instead of 'german'. So he/she should change the browser default language and see what happens. If language remains 'french', no english components exist.

  • OEM CONSOLE LOGIN PROBLEM

    Hi all,
When I try to login to the OEM console(Oracle Management Server), I gave the Administrator as Sysman, and Password as OEM_TEMP, and Management server as ????.
Because as I am not aware of what to give in Management Server.
I got error unable to connect VT-1000.
I have a standalone system having windows 2000 advanced server, and oracle 9i enterprise edition.
How to solve this problem. Coz I want to perform export utilities, If I login in standalone mode I cant perform these tasks.
    R.Ramesh.

I have a similar problem. I have the service running and repository created under the user of OMS, password = OMS. I can login to the schema with these credentials with sqlplus.
Now when running DBA Studio with OMS, I give the same credentials for the OMS Admin Id and password along with the Management Server Name.
It tells me the "credentials" are wrong. Saving and un-saving the id/password updates the omsconfig.properties file, but not sure that really matters.
Any thoughts? I have a posting out there already "Fresh 8.1.6 install....OSM" ......should OMS!
    I'd REALLY appreciate your help,
    Scott

  • OEM 9i - Login Once, then can't login again

I have installed Oracle 9i, Personal installation on a Windows XP Pro machine.
After setting the new password for SYSTEM and SYS during setup, I was able to log in to my database (PRACTICE) one time. I close OEM and start it again, and the login screen just sits there after I hit "OK".
I stop and restart Oracle services and get the same thing. However, if I reboot I can again login one time. Then I cannot log in unless I reboot.

    This doesn't seem right.
I paid for a rental and downloaded an HD movie, Avatar. I could start watching within about a minute, it played without skipping a beat.
My wife started watching the movie the next night and got about half way through.
The next day, she tried watching the rest, and selected the film and clicked on "resume watching".
But instead of streaming and playing like it should, we got the spinning wheel of death followed by a message "Ready to play in 1 minute" which soon became "Ready to play in 2351 minutes"!
Additional information that I can add is that it was Sunday afternoon which is peak time for internet usage and I'd just exhausted my data allowance before the speed limiting kicks in. Basic internet using browsers at that time was really slow.
So it was as though the movie we were going to resume watching was going to be downloaded from the iTunes Store again, and since my connection had been speed limited, it was going to take forever. I thought you downloaded a rental to your hard drive and it deleted itself after it expired? So any subsequent streaming to AppleTV would be coming direct from your hard drive. It shouldn't have been affected by the speed of my internet connection at that time, surely. Anyone else experienced this?
Actually, I just noticed this post, I'm sure it's related...:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12398832&#12398832
