OEM NT CLIENT HANGS WHEN TRYING TO CONNECT TO OMS ON LINUX

I am having a problem connecting to our oracle 9.0.1 management server running on Redhat 7.1. It appears to hang after I enter the defualt username, password (sysman/oem_temp) and host. I can ping the server from the client and I can also ping the client from the server.
I do not have a problem connecting to the repository via sqlplus from the client. I know the oms is working, I can connect to the oms on the linux machine by starting (oemapp dbastudio.) Has anyone encoutered this? Any suggestions?

I can ping the client and the server using the hostname or the ip without any problems. I verified the server is in the DNS through a nslookup also.
I also added the client's hostname and ip into the linux server's /etc/hosts file. The client utilizes DHCP.

  • SSL and RMI: Client hangs when trying to connect

    Hi all,
    Sorry for the cross-posting (I first posted to the RMI forum) but I thought someone here might be able to shed some light. The original message follows.
    I have a very simple client/server model implemented using RMI. Previously I used the default socket factories for creating sockets/connections and everything worked fine, but now I want to use SSL to encrypt all the traffic and I'm running into some trouble. The client is able to get the correct remote registry on the correct port, but when it tries to do registry.lookup("ServerName") to get a reference to the server object, it hangs indefinitely.
    Briefly, here are the changes from default RMI:
    As the docs suggested, I created a pair of custom socket factory classes (one for the client and one for the server) that create SSL sockets, and I put the following line in my server's constructor:
    super(0, new CustomClientSocketFactory(), new CustomServerSocketFactory());
    [my server extends UnicastRemoteObject].
    The custom factories are quite simple; the client consists of:
    public class CustomClientSocketFactory implements RMIClientSocketFactory, Serializable {
    public Socket createSocket(final String iHost, final int iPort) throws IOException {
    return SSLSocketFactory.getDefault().createSocket(iHost, iPort);
    and the server:
    public class CustomServerSocketFactory implements RMIServerSocketFactory {
    public ServerSocket createServerSocket(final int iPort) throws IOException {
    return SSLServerSocketFactory.getDefault().createServerSocket(iPort);
    Everything else is the same as before. I start the server on the remote machine, which starts its own registry on a certain port; then I start the client on the local machine. The client gets the registry and then ... nothing happens.
    I know this is somewhat vague, but the changes are small from the working code so I must be doing something wrong in creating SSL sockets. Is there something I can do to trace the process or figure out what's causing the hang? Am I missing some required authentication or other code in the server socket factory (my understanding from the docs is that authentication is optional)? Any other ideas about what's going on?
    Thanks,
    - Matt

    Matt, did you ever determine anything about your Strange Behavior #2. I'm running int the exact same issue. We've been using JSSE without problem for more than 2 years now. I'm currently trying to connect to a new SSL server and the connections setup is taking about 4 minutes (not the SecureRandom seeding) (see my comment in the trace: "this is where it sits for about 3 minutes")

    My iPad can see my network but just hangs when trying to connect? I've  reset the settings and all sorts? My iPhone can connect fine? Any advise would be great!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • My lap hangs when trying to connect wifi network

    when I power on the lap, there is no issue with wifi connectivity,but with in 30 to 40 min wifi gets disconnected showing limited signal . We have created two networks on same wifi in our room. When I try to connect to other network lap hangs.also when I  power off wifi in lap during this situation ,I am unable turn on wifi again(wifi option blank,unable to select).Even task manager is not getting opened. I should power off lap by holding power button and again power on the lap. When it is on the same thing happens

    Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 15-p077tx Notebook and issues with Wireless. Here is a link to the troubleshooting the Wireless connection. It has some helpful information inside of the document that has helped other. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system it has built in Wireless troubleshooting assistance. If this continues I would change the Channel on the router. Routers are capable of communicating to your Notebook on several different channels. If your neighbours Wifis  on the same channel, your network speeds might have issues. I have searched Microsoft for a fix for this and they indicate on the forums that if you change the router channel to a different channel, this might resolve the connection issue. You could turn off IPv6 for the notebook. Some say this helps. Fix this problem Microsoft Fix it 50413.  Here is a link to help as well. Hope this is helpful. Thanks.

    It doesn't crash when I run wpa_supplicant in the terminal, though, just throws an error. I am using an rt2860 wireless chipset, so I just had to downgrade to the staging drivers, as the new mainline drivers don't work for this chipset. I have no idea if that could cause this problem or not. It connects to wired ethernet just fine, though; I don't have access to an unsecured wireless network to see if it would connect properly without going through WPA.

    I have an rt2860 in my EeePC and am on the current kernel (3.1.7-1) and have no issues with either using the rt2800pci driver (and wlan0 as the interface) or wicd and WPA2...
    If you are running a stock kernel, I would try using the correct driver for the card and see where that takes you.

  • Getting error 789 when trying to connect with a PC remotely via VPN

    When we set up the VPN we are getting a Error 789 when trying to connect with a PC. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    The utilities, provided on the CD, are not required for the PC to access the Internet through the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn). They are only necessary for administering the base station.
    If your PC is currently configured as a DHCP client, it shouldn't have any issues connecting by Ethernet. The AEBSn will assign the appropriate IP addresses required for connectivity to the Internet ... just like it does for wireless clients.

    I then get the following error message:

    Error Desciption: Authorization failed.
    Using the same BW provider and the same BW user, I am able to connect form Excel.

    Hi Ingo,
    I do not get any error while using the Universe Designer, I get this error when trying to connect a SAP BW related universe in Crystal Reports. There is no problem at all with WebIntelligence by the way. It is possible to connect a SAP BW related universe in WebIntelligence.
    I use BO XI 3.0 with Crystal Reports 2008 and the SAP Integrations Kit client components are installed on the client machine.
    Nevertheless the BO Enterprise system is not configured with SAP Authentification, but with an own authentification.

  • Logon failed when trying to connect to a SAP BW related universe

    Hi,
    when I try to connect to my SAP BW related universe, I simply get the error message "Logon failed".
    I have the SAP integration kit for BO. Furthermore I have set the connection appropriate to OSS note 1182409.
    Nevertheless I get this error message.
    The universe and the connection settings to SAP BW themselves are working correctly.
    So e. g. I can set up a connection to my universe from the WebIntelligence tool.
    Do you have any idea to solve this problem?
    Best Regards,

    Can anybody help me in determining the problem ? Is there a systemtic incompatibility in connecting a 7.1.3 client to a 9.2 (or even higher) database ?

    Thanks for your reply.
    But the funny thing on this compatibility issues is, that this configuration worked before. The only thing we did, was to setup the client-PC on a new hardware with also a new operating system (upgrading from Solaris 5.8 to 5.10). And from that time we encountered this problem.
    Are there any OS-related problems known or better to say: is (was) ORACLE 7.1.3 supported on Solaris 5.10 ? Should we look for any patches which might help us ?

  • Errors when trying to connect CRM 7.0 to Enterprise Search

    Hi!
    I encountered 2 errors when trying to connect to a CRM 7.0 system as a backend system from Enterprise Search Cockpit.
    The first error is related to ESH_INT_GET_TREX_DESTINATION with a message of ESH_OM_OBJ_MODEL_REP 517:
    http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/9722/eserrors1.jpg
    The second error is related to "Errors during data cluster import from remote system":

    I don't know if these two errors are related, but any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Paul

    4.0 should be fine. My initial thoughts were on the script targetting a framework lesser than 3.5. Am bummed about the error cause in the line
    ClientContext clientContext =
    new ClientContext(client);
    it just creates an instance of the ClientContext class. It should have nothing to do with permissions cause it is not even trying to connect to the sharepoint site. So it looks like it can't find the assembly. Can you place the asembly
    under the Microsoft.Net\Framework folder of your machine. SSIS looks for custom assemblies in this folder on design time (Refer
    this) Worth a try hey!

    Have you recently patched/upgraded? This sounds like there might have been a problem relinking the executables / libraries, and/or a permissions problem. For example you may be referencing a 32 bit library with your 64 bit client.
    I believe I recently read a similar case - check Metalink for this symptom.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 hangs when trying to access SFTP site (Mac)

    Dreamweaver CS6 hangs when trying to access an SFTP site - or at least I think that SFTP could be the reason.
    Beachball forever....
    It works fine when trying to access other sites.
    The one addity is that when I go into "Manage Sites" and test it, it connects fine.
    I am running OSX 10.8.2.  I upgraded from 10.7 to see if this problem would go away.
    Message was edited by: deeed (typo)

    When CS6 first released, some people experienced problems with the FTP feature.  A critical update was released which addressed these issues. Did you install it?

  • Snow Leopard Client hangs when configuring services

    I have an xserve with Mac Os X Server v10.6 setup at a remote site, and a VPN-connection (gateway-to-gateway) to our office.
    When trying to connect my clients to the server the following happens (my clients are in swedish, so excuse any translation faults)...
    1. I go to "System Preferences"-"Log In", press "Connect" by Network Account Server.
    2. I type the hostname of my server (xserve01.mydomain.com), and it tells me that this server offers "calendar, email and addressbook" services.
    3. I push ok, and and then push "configure services". The progressbar quickly runs through, until it reaches the far right, the status bar says "configuring software".
    4. Now finder freesez, I cant do anything on the client. I left if for 1-hour, and still nothing.
    How do I debug what is going on here, I tried locking through the server logs, but can't realy find anything that seems wrong.
    I do see that the home-folder has syncronized with the server, so it appears I am connected.
    Any ideas? Where should I look for what is going on?
    What I am missing out on here?, is it ok to set everything up manually on the clients?
    I would like it to configure I-cal, so that the group-calenders shows up. Will it if I get it to succeed?

    Hello and thanks for the thought.
    Client B and Client A have the same network setup - both connect via ethernet to a managed gigabit switch (Netgear for what its worth) - the server is connected to the same switch.
    Funny thing is - Client B (the problem one) seemed to perk up again after running disk utility / repair disk+permissions on the Snow Leopard install disc... all good for a few hours.
    But - recently started connecting slowly again to the server! After moving the test folder back and forth successfully 2 hours ago, then returning to normal work, I noticed the same server -saving sluggishness as before, even when saving small (4-5Mb) illustrator files back to the server.
    Bit of a strange problem, as it seems isolated to one client thus far. Our client machines running 10.5 are fine with Snow Leopard server.
    ** One thing that I have a sneaky suspicion might be causing trouble - as the migration is still being done from old system to new system, my Carbon-copy-cloned system disk with a Leopard install is still occasionally being accessed from an external drive as I copy files over from it on occasion...
    I am going to try disk permissions and then NOT attaching the mirrored system drive for a while and see what happens then...
