OEM plugin for peoplesoft

I have installed plugin 8.51.0.1.0 using Grid Control version 11.1 on a Windows Server 2008. Environments are available when I check the status on the operating system, however, OEM shows no status for any of the components on the server. When I try to start them from OEM, it says "may already be started." I also tried to remove them and add them again without success. Any suggestions?

Do not uninstall, but rather remove the PS env. from the EM list and retry to discover a new PS_HOME.
I did not use it in Windows env. but you certainly should take care within the user your are configuring (between OEM and PS).
Have you linked a PS env. with a database when discovered env ?
Any error msg when trying to start a PS env. from OEM (have you check for the logfiles) ?

Status metric for the OEM plugin for DB2 Databases

Hi,
I am doing some testing of the OEM system monitoring plug-in for an IBM DB2 Database. I am starting with some very basic alerts such as when an instance is down. However, it is not working as I would expect. When the instance is stopped using the command db2stop I would expect OEM to determine that the database is down. However, OEM reports a metric collection error and not the database being down.
Does anybody have any experience with DB2 databases and OEM?

By creating Groups for specific targets and authoriizing access to these groups you can have users only "seeing" databases or certain databases and other users only being able to see certain Middleware components etc.

NetApp plugin for OEM 12c - DB is not on NFS mounted storage. DB Storage Perf Report empty

Hi, I have installed NetApp Plugin for OEM 12c (12.1.0.3.1) for a Netapp vFiler used for SMO. "Database Storage Utilization" and "Consolidation Database Storage Performance" empty. "Database is not on NFS mounted storage. Hence, no views available." - a. We are using ASM lun created on NFS. Does this means it will not appear in the plugin report ? - b. If point a. is true, is there a way to make the data appear ? I had already verified the BELOW. Only for point 4, I observed MGMT$DB_DATAFILES."OS_STORAGE_ENTITY" is NA (even though the ASM disk is actually on a NFS mount) : 1. Database discovery is done in EM12c . 2. Go to the database “HOST” target in EM 12c and click on the host target on which database resides. From host target drop down, click on “Host-> StorageDetails”. It will launch the “Storage Details” page. Please refer attached screenshot. There is a table displayed on bottom of screen and click on “File Systems” tab and check that your discovered database storage mount point is shown there. (Please note that whenever you define new mount point on host, this list should reflect the change.), otherwise, Database Performance views will not work. This mount point discovery is updated periodically. (It might be possible that DB views are not working because this discovery might not have finished) 3. Please click on NetApp Storage Target type and go to “Target HomePage drop down ->All Metrics”. Please click on “Volume List” metric and confirm if the volume is listed there on which database resides. 4. I read on OTN that the plugin for Netapp was incorporated into Grid control R2 and R3. I've a 10.2.0.4 version. Is the plugin also incorporated in R4? If so, how do I navigate to the storage page. I could not find any information on storage within grid control. If the plugin is not incorporated, where can I download the plugin? Could not find it on OTN.

If you go to an agent homepage (click Setup in the top right, click on Agents in the blue bar, select an agent from the table), there will be a table of instances the agent monitors. Above that table and justified to the right side is a pull down list. This pull down allows you to select a target type (and the button next to it kicks off manual discovery). The netapp target type will be in this list if the agent supports it.

EM Plug-In for Peoplesoft 8.50 Breaking Application Server When Discovering

During the Discover process, even though, the Application Server, web Server, and schedulers are down; the Plug-In for EM PeopleSoft breaks the PeopleSoft environment. We have to rebuild the Applications Server and Scheduler to get this to work. There is a value the must reside in the ubx file and that was changed, but the discovery always breaks the environments..
My question is this: If we have to stop and start the PeopleSoft Architecture through EM, no problem. We just need to be able to explain why the environments keep breaking and we have to keep rebuilding the domains.
8.50.08, Windows 2003, Oracle 64-bit, 11.1.0.7 (Everything is on Windows).
Any insight will be helpful to our situation.

I experienced similar thing. The EM plugin for PS break the PS env down. I did not take time yet to investigate, and so far did not use it at all.

System monitoring plugin for Vmware ESX server..

i have a OEM grid control 10.2.0.5 with management plugin for Vmware ESX server (Management Plug-in: vmware_esx_server, Version 1.1.3.1.0) added.
I later added another server agent for management/monitoring of VMware ESX server.
the agent state is UP and under Monitored targets for the agent I am now trying to add the VMware ESX server
Once on the page, here I enter the details <Hostname / Usrname:Pwd / Protocol:HTTPS / Keystore> and click on Test Connection and recieve a Warning :
Failed to contact the target to be added. Following errors were received while testing the connection to the target. Update the properties accordingly, try Test Connection for testing the properties before saving.

If I go ahead and click OK it adds the Target(Vmware esx server) to the agent and displays message :
"Target ESXVS (VMware ESX Server) has been added."
THE problem starts here.. the metrics collection doesnt happen for the target and I get Metric collection errors.
I have tried checking in diff versions of management plugins as well as tried adding the target to the Grid control's agent//
Pls help..

Is the location that you specified for the keystore file somewhere that the agent can read from (either a drive local to where the agent is installed or a network drive that the agent has access to)? Is the keystore file one that was generated for that specific ESX Server from its rui.crt file? Each ESX Server has a different rui.crt file that you use to create the keystore file.
You won't be able to collect metrics if the SSL connectivity isn't set up correctly.

I have created an OPA adapter for PeopleSoft which is purely written in PeopleSoft since its consuming ODS web services. I am also using Oracle XSL Mapper to transform messages.
Now, I'm thinking of integrating OWD to PeopleSoft. Does anyone have any experience in doing this integration? Can you share some thoughts?

You will find integrating with Web Determinations (OWD) has a different set of requirements than integrating with Determinations Server (ODS).
When Integrating with ODS, PeopleSoft can act as a client, calling ODS and processing the response. When integrating with OWD, you need to think about how data will get sent to OWD (pre-seeding a session) and also sent from OWD back to PeopleSoft when a save call is made (session save).
The point of integration for this sort of thing for OWD is the DataAdaptor (see Data Adaptor Plugin Overview in the Oracle Policy Automation Developer's Guide http://docs.oracle.com/html/E29403_01/toc.htm). You need be write an implementation that can load and save cases to PeopleSoft.
The DataAdaptor implementation will need to have a service in PeopleSoft to call to load and save information to. I would suggest that you create a Web Service in PeopleSoft. The DataAdapter can then act as a client to that service to send information.
This is the basic approach of Web Determinations integration with products like CRM On Demand and Siebel CRM.

At the Plugin area in FF6 there is no Java Plugin available, even after a search.
I have Java 1.6.0 installed in the OS at:
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0/jre/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so
I googled how to configure Java Plugin for FF 6 for Fedora 13 and the trick was to create a soft link from /home/<userID>/.mozilla/plugins to the above libnpjp2.so

Setting up the Apache HTTP Plugin for several BEA Servers

Hey together,
i would like to setup the apache http plugin for several bea-servers.
I am running apache 1.x on my hp-ux system. There are 2 bea-server-domains on this box and both should be proxied by the plugin simultaneously.
As far as i know it isn't possible to run 2 or more instances of the apache webserver. I heard of virtualhosts, maybe i should try this one out.
Somebody knows how to deal with this problem or does any1 know if virtualhosts could cope with my needs?

Ok here i am again and i'm stuck. Here my wishes again:
there are 2 weblogic-instances (domains) running on a machine xxx, instance A listening on port 8041, instance B listening on port 8051. I want to configure apache virtualhosts in combination with weblogic plugins, so that request with /ld will be sent to instance A while requests with /ldd will be sent to instance B. Both are no clusters. Therefore i tried it with the following configuration (httpd.conf):

Hello, I'm totally new to Adobe Reader development and I'm in the need to develop a plugin for Reader that must implement certain functionality. Before starting, I think it's better to ask to the experts if what I want to do is possible or if what I need goes beyond what the Adobe API provides. So, if you're so kind, I'd like you to check the list of needed features and please tell me if they can be fulfilled with a Reader Plugin.
The plugin must work for Adobe Reader 7,8,9 and 10. It's not a problem if I need to develop a plugin for each version.
When the user tries to print a document, I will block/cancel the printing process depending on which document is tried to be printed (the full path to the document will be needed).
I need traceability in "Save as" and "Save as text" features, if the user saves a copy of "c:\file.pdf" into "c:\file - copy.pdf" I need to know both the source and the destiny of the save as operation. Same for any kind of "export to format x" operations if possible.
I need to be able to communicate with another module via named pipe to periodically send information. This might require dinamically loading a DLL and calling its methods.
[Optional] I need to restrict the use of the clipboard depending on the documents opened in Reader, i.e. don't allow to copy if a certain document is opened.
[Optional] If a document is exported via file printer (like Microsoft xps printer), I need traceability on this operation. I'm really pesimistic about this one.
Also, I'm assuming that retrieving the list of opened documents, or the "active" document will be possible at any time. Please, correct me if wrong.

Two things.
First – Adobe no longer supports Reader 7 or 8, so you would be on your own for those.
Second, in order to develop a plugin for Reader you need to obtain a license from Adobe. Details and forms are in the Acrobat SDK. Start this process ASAP as that will tell you whether you will be able to do your plugin or not.

First, set the user back to www or whatever it was. To do namebased virtual hosting, you'll need to change two things. The first is to add a NameVirtualHost directive to /etc/httpd/sites/virtualhostglobal.conf
This is one of the VirtualHost stanzas from my Linux box, you just have to adjust the paths for your machine:

Each version of the SDK has very specific demands for the compiler setup, and this in turn relies heavily on the operating system. The CS3 SDK probably was based on a much older version of Visual Studio.
Compare your toolchain against the requirements that should be stated somewhere in the CS3 documentation. It's a solid bet you are years ahead -- there simply is no reason for Adobe to keep on supporting all OSes and compilers that continue to appear, for a version of InDesign that's by now 2.5 versions old.

How can I create a search plugin for multiple fields

There are a number of sites that have search capabilities but they require entries into multiple fields.
One such site is for instance the IBM Employee directory.

On this site - in order to get usable results - I have to enter both First name and Last name of the employee I'm looking for.
I created a search plugin for the site, however I wasn't able to split the entered text into two parts and provide them as separate fields for the form.
Is there a way to do this?

This is excellent. Not search-plugin though but but this is as good as a search-plugin. (Even better, as I haven't seen any solution with the plugins for the problem.)
