OEM push Agent issue

Hi,
I am on 10.2.0.3 and when I am trying to push the agent to the target server and I ran into an issues with port, below is the message:
The required port(s) in the range is not available:
PROBLEM: the free port availability check has failed
ERROR: check complete. The overall result of this check is: not executed
RECOMMENDATION: Please free one of the ports in the required range.
The port the agent used is 3872, I check the OS and the port is not not being used. I also even tried another port but got the same errors.
Anyone had this issue before?

You must use another port for the agent
To change the port you must edit the file AGENT_HOME/sysman/config/emd.properties, and in this file locate the entry:
http://hostname_of_agent:3872/emd
Change the port 3872 for another port that you know than its available. To short the port is available run
telnet hostname port
If you execute a telnet to hostname port and you receive the Escape Character then is that the port is free

Hi,
I am running 3 apps in one server & 3 db's in another server.
Do I need 3 X 3 separate OEM 10g agent software to be installed on both server or 1 installation of agent home is enough to monitor these 3 dbs in single server?
If one agent is need to monitor all the 3 dbs then how to configure the single agent for all the 3 dbs & apps.

Agent performs server level monitoring, so you don't need to install multiple agents to monitor multiple DBs on a single server.
how to configure the single agent for all the 3 dbs & apps.If you know how to configure for a single database, then this should not be a problem. Please refer documentation for this.

OEM intelligent agent

I'm running 8.0.5 on Red Hat 6.0. The system has been running happily for two months, but I'm now starting to play with the management tools and having a problem.
When I start the OEM intelligent agent via
"lsnctrl dbsnmp_start"
I get the following error message in DBSNMPW.log:
NMS-00315: Message 315 not found; No message file for product=network, facility=
NMS
From OEM Doc I found the following:
NMS-00315: Failed to create tcl package index.
Cause: The tcl package index could not be created.
Action: Make sure all the shared libraries in the $ORACLE_HOME/network/agent/library directory are correct.
I checked the $ORACLE_HOME/network/agent/library and found it was empty.
I then started orainst and checked to see that OEM intelligent agent was installed, it shows as being installed
Has anyone run into this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

OEM 12c agent install on windows server 2008

I'm trying to do a silent installation of the linux x86-64 agent software. I've done:

In the c:\temp directory I have downloaded the agent software 12.1.0.2.0_AgentCore_226.zip. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried unzipping this, deleting it, switching directories. I'm sure I'm doing something really stupid, but can't seem to figure it out.

ETA: I think I found my problem. I only downloaded the linux x86-64 binaries (12.1.0.2 Agent zip for Linux x86-64 (233,396,034 bytes, cksum 3827353588)). Do I need to download the entire Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 2 (em12cr2_linux64_disk1.zip, em12cr2_linux64_disk2.zip, em12cr2_linux64_disk3.zip)?

That is where I'm having the problem. I can't get the self update to work, because I keep getting timed out... I know it has something to do with my proxy server. This server doesn't have access to the internet, but has all of *oracle.com websites available to it. So basically I was trying to find a way around using that self update... Every time I test the https://updates.oracle.com link in the proxy settings in OEM. It says the test succedded, but when I try to update my credentials for MOS, I keep getting timed out.

OEM Grid Agent deployement

in OEM Grid 10g R4, I'm using Agent Deploy Application. Choosing Default, from Management Server location for Source Software.
I have this error :
Error
No Agent Source Software
There is no agent source software available on Management Server for - 10.2.0.4.0, Windows NT, Windows 2000
OR, Agent source software is not proper.Download agent shiphome from metalink and unzip it. Check the instructions.txt file inside version directory for more information.
But in :
E:\OracleHomes\oms10g\sysman\agent_download\10.2.0.4.0\win32 directory I have :
agentDownload.vbs and agentdeploy directory.
Any idea ? Any help ?

Counter their arguments with facts and only facts. Install agent on test box and show them what it is doing.
We had agents installed on 500 production servers without any performance issues.

Pushing agents to Windows server

Hi all,
I have attempted pushing the agent from my OMS (10.2) to a target windows 2003 server with no joy....I have errors when it attempts an SSH connection between the OMS and the target, I have read the installation & configuration guides but can only seem to find UNIX based procedures to prepare a host for the agent.
What is the Wiondows equivalent for preparing a target for the SSH connection???

Yes , you need to install cygwin on target box and set up the ssh.

CCMS Agent Issue in Central Monitoring System

We are configuring the CCMS Agent in our landscape, while registering the CCMS Agent we're facing some issue.
CEN system - Only ABAP Stack - ECC 6.0 Ehp3
Target System - Double stack (ABAP + JAVA, Netweaver 2004s)
After completing the Visual Admin settings. Service file SAPCCMSR.99 has
been generated automatically. As per the help.sap the service file should
be SAPCCMSR.<Instance No.>, our instance no. was 00 but its was generated
with 99 (SAPCCMSR.99).
Two RFC has been created in Double stack system and one RFC has been
created in ABAP system.
RFC in ABAP system :
SAPCCMSR.HOSTNAME.00 - its not working
(Error Details, ERROR:program hostname.sapccmsr.00 not registered)
RFC in Dual-stack System :
SAP.CCMS.J2EE.SID - its working
SAPCCMSR.HOSTNAME.00 - its not working

While testing the Remote System Topology, we're getting communication
error.
In RZ21, Topology - Agents for Remote Systems - Display Overview, Agent

its throwing Error opening an RFC connection - SAPCCMSR.HOSTNAME.00

What your said was rite, but I'm unable to get J2EE (Java Stack) alert information in RZ20 of the same system, coz., its dual stack system. If we don't have any issue in Java means it should be updated in RZ20 of the same system.
In Dual-stack System:
RZ20 -> CCMS monitor sets -> SAP J2EE Monitor Template -> All Systems -> SID -> J2EE Engines, J2EE Applications, J2EE Log files... these are not updating here.
Could you kindly suggest for above issue.

Agent issue with 10.2.0.4 on RHEL 4 for single instance db.

I had 2 instances that were not able to upload nor where they secure. For one of them which ran on port 5500, I was able to go through the forums and basically I ended up dropping the repository for that instance, and then I was able to secure the agent, and uploads were fine. Now I have one single instance that runs on port 1158:

So, with this one instance and agent, I keep going in loops with the same 2 errors:
1. EMD upload error: uploadXMLFiles skipped :: OMS version not checked yet..
2. The OMS is not set up for Enterprise Manager Security.
I even followed related messages on the forums here to try to resolve the issue, but this did not work:
'- emctl stop agent
- delete all files in $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/upload and $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/state
- emctl clearstate agent (this should delete all state files but sometimes it is not enough, but I experienced that it is better to use this command after deletion of the files)
- emctl secure agent (and specify the password on demand)
- emctl start agent'
Any advice or help on HOW to secure this instance's agent and get it to upload would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I solved my own issue, however I basically had to drop and recreate the repository and grid control for the instance, thus loosing over 3300 XML files, but now the agent is working and the server is running secure. I simply did:
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate
And answered all the questions... I am wondering if the 3300+ xml files I deleted by following some guy's response in a similar thread was necessary, and if it was not, I wonder if I would have been able to upload all of the files after executing and rebuilding....

Since you have dropped the repository thats why it was needed to deleted the previous files

I have already installed OEM 10g Grid Control OMS on my linux sever which also has EBS R12.1.
I want to manage our EBS 11i which resides on another server
I downloaded the Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip file from OTN,
and put it to the target server and unzip it.
Then I runInstaller and choose add management server.
I followed this link for the agent install>

But I got stuck up on the Screen Page for entry of
Management Service Host Name > server01.abc.com
Management Service Port > 4889I got error : The connection can not be established to Oracle Configuration Manager
Reason > Error connecting to server peer not authenticated
But in the server linux fire fox browser, I can access it using > http://server01.abc.com:4889/em
I can not understand why this simple thing to follow just stuck with this
Oracle Configuration Manager > There is a "Test Connection" button there.
And it will not pass over it. How do I test connection from the OS command prompt? What command does this
screen use to validate connection to the OMS server?
Did I miss someting ? a pre-requisite perhaps that is needed by this connection?
What do you mean by "peer authentication"?
Please help....

Exchange Server 2007 Transport Agent Issue

This is the first time i am working on Exchange Server Development. Below is a simple Transport Agent that i am using, this agent should simply update the email Subjects
as shown below in the code.

Below is the Powershell script i am using to install the Agent.
Net Stop MSExchangeTransport
Install-TransportAgent -Name MyAgent -AssemblyPath EmailLogger.dll -TransportAgentFactory MyAgents.MyAgentFactory
Enable-TransportAgent -Identity MyAgent
Net Start MSExchangeTransport
Agent installed successfully using Exchange Management Shell.
Now when i send/receive emails in exchange, Email subjects are not modified. Emails have their original subjects. I don't know why?
I also performed the steps mentioned in below links to debug the Agent but breakpoints are not being hit by Visual Studio Debugger.

How are you testing this ? a SmtpReceiveAgent will only fire when the server receives email over SMTP. So if your just logging on and sending an Internal Email (eg mailbox to mailbox) or sending Email externally then the
SmtpReceiveAgent wont fire. For a single server if you want to capture all email you need to use a router agent see

OEM 12c Agent does not show down status.

Hi, I'm testing EM 12c. I added host target to oem and then kill agent process on host.
When open agent page (Setup-Agent-Testingagent) see error.
Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms).
But status agent and host show up in EM.
I try resync agent, But nothing has changed it.

Other target (hosts,agent) show status correctly.

EM is showing Host is up makes sense. If I remember correct the OMS pings the host if the agent is down. This will succeed so the host will show up.
Why the agent is showing up does not make sense to me. The agent sends a signal every (default) 120 seconds. If no signal is received by the OMS the OMS sends a reverse ping to the agent. If this does not succeed the agent and its monitored targets should get the state “Agent Unreachable”.

We are working on the adobe air applications to handle multiple instance of mobile user agents. While doing so we observed that when a user agent
belonging to android/ios/windows/ mobiles web page objects/ui for mobile website is not loading as it was expected. To be precize some of the ui components
location is getting distorted. Please let me know the possible solution/fix for the same. Looking forward to hear on this soon.
PS: Same user agent when loading on firefox user agent addon, mobile web site opens properly without any issue.

Commission Agent Set-up in Sales Order
You can create a partner function as Commission Agent and assign it to your sales order partner function and carry out your transaction and post the commission amount after the receipt of the payment. You can go through as follows. SPRO>Sales & Distribution>Basic Functions>Partner Determination>Set up Partner Determination>Set up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header>Partner Function>Select SP>Copy>Name it as ZC>Save it. Now Click on Account Group-Function Assignment>New Entries>Partner Function "ZC" and Account Group-say your account group 1000> save it. Now Click on Partner Determination Procedures>select TA and click on partner Functions in Procedure>New Entries>Partner Determination Procedures as TA and Partner Function as ZC>Save it Now Click on Partner Determination Procedure Assignment>Select your Sales Order Type say OR and assign TA here and Save it Now you also need to have a master of Commission Agents so, Create a separate Account group for it say ZCOM-Commission Agent>SPRO>Financial Accounting>Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable>Customer Accounts>Master Data>preparations for Creating Customer Master DAta>Define Account Groups with screen layout>New Entries>ZCOM>Save it. Agent issue:Oracle keeps proposing enlarging the memory of the java stack

Our PROD agent suddenly started not responding . The package showing execution in monitor without showing what code it is executing. This continuously exeecuting package then we had to set to error and then we went with execution with Local(no agent) which got executed successfuly in prod but still having issues with PROD agent.
Oracle proposed the sol- "Oracle keeps proposing enlarging the memory of the java stack " The sol worked for few days and again facing the same issue. One of the
query raised by oracle is
"Ask the developers if they are using standard transaction processing knowledge modules and if they have considered using BULK loading type knowledge modules ? Please
ask them for the precise name of the Knowledge Modules used and if they have been customized or not"
How to identify this in detail? Any clue . We are using the standard KM and havent customized any KM

The question is what Knowledge modules are you using? Some use Bulk type processing, others transaction based. You can list knowledge modules by interface using a SQL query like this one :
