EAAS and Listner service are not comming up
Hi all,
I am using CIM 4.4.1 with ES1. I have installed and integrated the CIM with UCCE and all configuration has synch with CIM from UCCE. But i am facing 2 issues right now first my CIM MR PIM is not comming up, it looks the port i an using 38001 is not open, i have requested to relevent team to open it between ICM and CIM.
2- Second thing when i try to start EAAS and Listner service it gives me the attached error "unable to perform any action on the instance as there is no process available on which this instance will run"
Any idea what could be the issue.Expand Shared resources and you will find same directory stucture for listener and EAAS process. First you will have to start the process and then the instance can be started.
If you still not able to start the instance, attach the relavant logs to see what is happening.
Hope this helps. -
New group in Shared Services does not come up in projects?
Hi All,
I'm working on a system that has externalized security, and we use Hyperion Shared Services to add users to groups and assign filters to groups.
I have just added a new group in the analkytic server in shared services, I have also provisioned it to have filter access of a particular DB.
When I go to the projects folder and check the list of groups under the application, to look for this group so I could assign the filter, I dont find the group listed.
Does anyone know what I am missing out on.
Thanks in advance.
AnindyoHi John,
I tried to delete the group and create a new group again:
searched for the group, right clicked on it and clicked on Provision.
Then I expanded the Analytic server tree to the left, selected server Access, and moved it using the arrow button.
Then I expanded the DB name, there were "Provisioning Manager", "Application Manager" and "My Role".
I expanded the Tree of "My Role" and found "Calc", "Filter" and "Read".
I expanded the tree "Filter", and found Start/Stop Application.
I selected "Filter" (not Start/Stop Application) and moved it to the second list on the right using the Arrow button.
Then I clicked on the save button.
Now I expanded the Projects Folder:
Clicked on the DB to which I provisioned this group.
It showed the list of users and groups to the right.
I selected groups in the drop down.
Clicked on refresh, but the new group does not appear.
Please let me know if I missed out on anything.
Thanks for the response,
Regard,
Anindyo -
I don't understand why the AppleTV can't just display the TOS and ask for my acceptance.
Why do I constantly have to go by to my computer to use my TV?
Regarless, when I log into my icloud on my computer or on my iphone, I don't get the prompt to access the iCloud TOC.
I've verified the username/password and it is an exact match.
Please tell us how to fix this problem.I am having this problem also. My 4S tells me there are no photos, but I have taken some and they show up in the preview pane but I can't open them, nor can I see photos I have synced to it. My 4S has been backed up from my 3GS and I am using Windows Vista. My 4S is also not showing up as a device connected under my 'Computer' folder. I did not see if this was an issue prior to restoring from my 3GS backup. Any help would be appreciated.

We had some sort of incident over the weekend...with the xserve reporting drive warnings. Drives appear ok now. However, the only problem that remains is web services do not come up. error_log reports "Library/Webserver/Documents/moodle/..." doesn't exist.
Closer inspection of the webservices screen in server admin shows that the site information, mime info, and other such info is missing. Trying to manually repair the missing sites info results in nothing... can't even enter index.html in default index files window. On save, the sites list just goes blank.
I took a look at the httpd.conf file to see if it is munged.. but it looks ok.
any thoughts on why I can't edit the sites info?Since you still can't edit things, you may want to have a look all through /etc/httpd and it's subfolders. Check things like ownership and permissions and whether you can read the files.
Even though you ran fsck, I still find it hard to trust this filesystem/drive.

Remote Invocable object is not constructed/initialized correctly
Hi, I got a strange problem.
Basically, a node assignes a range of ids (for example 1-1000) to all nodes including itself via the InvocationService. Upon the receipt of Invocable, all the remote nodes do not have the Invocable information initialized correctly, ONLY the original node starts the InvocationService call get the Invocable initialized correctly. In my program, any node can start the InvocationService, and I tried all the different nodes and they all have the same problem.
I fake the code a little bit and when calling the InvocationService (query()) it always sends to itself. And all Invocable objects (when run() starts) are initialized correctly.
Can someone help provide some insight?
The following is some of code related to the problem.
The node call the InovactionService:query()
SearchInvocable oneRange = new SearchInvocable(CacheHelper.getLocalMember());
for (int j = 0; j < members.length; j++) {
oneRange.setMin(nextMinKey);
nextMaxKey = ((nextMinKey + rangeSize) < maxKey) ? (nextMinKey + rangeSize) : maxKey;
oneRange.setMax(nextMaxKey);
// Inform the member for the assigned key range via
// invocation service
// CHANGING TO targets.add(memebers[0]);
// WORKS FINE! SO STRANGE
targets.add(members[j]);
System.out.println("Range[" + j + "]: " + oneRange);
invokeService.query(oneRange, targets);
targets.clear();
nextMinKey = ((nextMaxKey + 1) < maxKey) ? (nextMaxKey + 1) : maxKey;
The Invocable object
public class SearchInvocable extends KeyRange implements Invocable {
SearchInvocable(Member sourceMember) {
super();
this.sourceMember = sourceMember;
public void run() {
System.out.println("SearchInvocable::run(): " + this);
Here is the output for remote nodes print out the Invocable (the Invocable is not initialized correctly).
SearchInvocable::run(): type:null min:0 max:0
Here is the output for local node print out the Invocable
SearchInvocable::run(): type:Accountl min:10001 max:99996
Thanks,
JasperHi Robert,
That's it. It is the KeyRange not implements the Serializable. I missed it. I thought for the local node it goes through the same serialization as the remote nodes do so I overlook the problem. This shows Coherence does the optimization for local node without going through the serialization. Excellent!

Authentication Service is not initialized.
Hello,
I was authenticating with access manager before and I happen to re-start my machine without stopping the running domain and here is the issue after re-starting machine and the domain.
I get the page from the access manager
'Authentication Service is not initialized.
Contact your system administrator. ' I started my domain and also my amserver. I have no idea on what this means and how to resolve.
Anybody any Ideas.
Thanks,
-BobThere maybe a lot of possibilities such as directory server used by AM running correctly. How about the search of top org dc=xxx,dc=com existing in DS? Also checking /opt/SUNWam/config/ums/serverconfig.xml whether it configures as you expected. If you can't find it, try to set debug.level=message and clean up debug log, restart server and give us what you are finding in log files. HTH, Jerry

When opening PE 11, error message : online services could not be initialized. Please reinstall appears. Reinstalls does not fix problem. What do I do next?
You should be able to launch without ols. Can you try directly from the application in the following location:
C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11
Double click on:
PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
Let us know if that works.
If not, try downloading the missing file from the following link (it says PSE10 but should work) and unzip the folder to extract the file and drag it into the assets folder.
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/welcome-screen-keeps-running-auto.html
If that doesn’t work I would suggest uninstalling via the control panel and installing from a fresh download. You can download the free trial from this link and then validate with your serial number.

windows vista home premium service pack 2。error measage __(the windows installer service could not be accessed.this can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed .contact your support personnel for assistance )no error nurber
Hi Abdallah,
According to your description, could you please post the summary and detail logs for further analysis? By default, the logs can be found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Usually, the error occurs when the Windows Installer Service is not running or the Windows Installer registry settings are corrupted. I recommend you reset the Windows Installer Service settings in the registry and restart the Windows Installer Service,
then reinstall SQL Server 2008 R2. For more details, please review this similar
article.

I just updated to the latest version of itunes, n ow when I plug in my iphone, it says it cannot sync because "apple mobile device service is not started" this never happen before, what do I do??
The Apple Mobile Device Service is a part of sever programs that "help" iTunes on Windows. It may have been disabled in the Microsoft program, msconfig, or using a third party utility, such as CCleaner.
I would suggest trying to find and enable the service. To do so, click on the start button, click "run", and then type "msconfig" look for the iTunes Helper entry and make sure that it's enabled.
Additionally, there may be another service which you will have to enable. You can type something like "service.msc", (I'm not sure exactly) to see the "Services" control panel and look for it there.
If you can't find either, feel free to post here again.

Abdallah.M.MHi Abdallah,
According to your description, could you please post the summary and detail logs for further analysis? By default, the logs can be found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Usually, the error occurs when the Windows Installer Service is not running or the Windows Installer registry settings are corrupted. I recommend you reset the Windows Installer Service settings in the registry and restart the Windows Installer Service,
then reinstall SQL Server 2008 R2. For more details, please review this similar
article.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
