OEMREP

The OEMREP of the Oracle Management Console was installed with
the default password. The problem is I cannot find any documentation telling me what is the default password. Of course
I want to change it, but I need the default password first so I can log into the OEMREP db. Another case of a system handed over without documentation or config information.
Does anyone know what is the OEMREP password for Oracle Management Console?
Thank you for any information you can provide.

Thanks for the information

  • TNS-12500 & TNS-12560 on Oracle 9i - 9.2.0.1.0

    Hi,
We have an old Oracle9i db server.
One instance is called TEST. About two weeks ago, we started having problems with the test instance. It's been up and running smoothly for almost 10 years. No changes that I know of has been made.
We get TNS-12500 & TNS-12560 amongst others in the listener.log when we try to connect to TEST.
We frequently get this in the listener.log:
    21-MAR-2010 02:00:26 * service_died * TEST * 12537
    21-MAR-2010 02:00:36 * service_register * TEST * 0
However, since the problem first occured, the "service_register" does not follow the "service_died" in the log file.
    tnsping works fine:

The other instances on the server works fine.
If I restart the server it works fine for a couple of days.
    Where should I begin?
I'm not really into doing something that could interrupt the status of the production instance on the server before the weekend, but at the same time I would need the test instance up and running right now. I also would like to know what would happen if I was to restart the listener (we have one listener for all instances). Would all active connections to the production instance be affected?

In addition to the other comments you've received, please note that tnsping actually says nothing about the state of any db instance. It only goes so far as to verify there is a listener on the specified port at the specified host.
Note the names of the services known by the listener:

  • Error Starting Oracle Management Server

Sorry to post here if this is the wrong place.
    I'm running O9.2 on RH9 on a dual Xeon with 4GB RAM.
With emca i create an OEMREP. When I run "oemctl start oms", i get the following messages:
    Starting the Oracle Management Server...
Could not connect to the OMS: possible error in the configuration file
    Terminated
If i do the exact same thing on a P4 with 512MB RAM with O9.2 and RH9, everything works like a charm.
    thoughts??

Check the /etc/hosts file to make sure the hostname of the server is included (not 127.0.0.1 localhost, but {for example} 192.168.8.20 mylinuxserver)

  • Problems loggin in Oracle Enterpirse Manager Console

Hi. I installe oracle 9i and managed to setup a development and OEMREP databases and successfully logged into the Enterprise Manager Console. But after a few days, out of the blue, I can't login anymore.
I'm getting the following error msg:
    "The exception (oracle.sysman.emSDK.client.omsClient.ClientException) ocurred"
Did anyone encounter the same problem?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!!

This has happened to me many times. First look at the node status in oem, probrobly is stating that it is out of sync. Even if it isn't save all your jobs to the library. Delete the node. Then on the solaris side
shutdown the agent, delete the *.q files out of the $ORACLE_HOME/network/agent directory, then restart the agent. Now back on oem rediscover the node. You should then be able to resubmit the jobs from the library.

  • Oracle apache dont sends forms

Hello i got a question i have a installed Oracle9i with integrated APACHE Webserver and PHP 4. The Webserver does interpret my php code very well but i cant send my forms. I have tried it also just with HTML with the same result if i click on the send button nothing happens. Is this a know problem?

hello again well i have tested the phpinfo my modules are loaded well. Else my code wouldnt work in any way i guess. But iam still haveing the problem about the Variable in the Sql Statement. Becouse whatever i try as the Variable like you said i just no data found and 0 Records selected. If i write a usual SQL Statement like "select * from Employees it works fine so i guess it just sends the Variable from my form. i have the globals off in my php.ini. I see the sendet Variable as tab=Employees for example but it seems like the script is dont getting it.
Again my 2 codeparts maybe there is again a stupid failor:

    1. set initBUS.ora
    2. register as a service
    3. startup with nomount
    4. issue create database command
    5. run those script
    @C:\oracle\ora92\rdbms\admin\catalog.sql
    @C:\oracle\ora92\rdbms\admin\catproc.sql
    @C:\oracle\ora92\sqlplus\admin\pupbld.sql
    6. restart
The problem is I can't connect to new SID(BUS) even though I add new sid to listener.ora(legacy sid works fine)
I am sure that my new instance's listener works fine with this command
    c:\>lsnrctl status
but it has unknown status ( I don't understand what stands for)
when I try connecto sid(BUS), system back this msg
    SQL> conn sys/oracle as sysdba
    ERROR:
    ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adaptor error
    what is the problem?
or which file or configure do I have to check?
    Thanks in advance

    please help me .....
    thakns in advance ...

i have found in oem that u can back up and recovere the tablespace that's why i was trying it
you can recover tablespaces in the same database where they belonged.
    1. what is rec catalog does,if i am using it
RMAN ( CATALOG CREATION ) STEP BY STEP by Joel Pérez
RMAN ( CATALOG CREATION ) STEP BY STEP by Joel Pérez
    2. if i have two database db01 and oemrep both database almost have same tablespace in it will it create problem me to backup and recover..
you can not recover a tablespace in another database. Instead of that you can transport that tablespace with the export/import utilities.
3.what should i do if i have to backup db01 database and want to recover it in oemrep database.and
please let me know in detail how could i do that ???
you have to use the feature "Transportable Tablespaces"
On monday I am going to give the needed steps to do that.

  • Can't connect to SQLPlus

    Hi all,
I've installed Oracle9i Database Release 2, everything went ok during the installation.
When I try to connect to the SQLPlus I get the error:
"ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name".
I've checked and set up the REGEDIT in
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\TNS_ADMIN
    and
    \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\Home1\TNS_ADMIN
Where TNS_ADMIN is the directory of my Oracle home (Ora9iDB)
My tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files I think are corretly configurated. Please see below, the database that I'm trying to connect to is TEST.OEMREP.LAN:
    # TNSNAMES.ORA Network Configuration File: C:\Ora9iDB\network\admin\tnsnames.ora

The weird thing is that I can connect without problems to
the SQLPlus worksheet and to a PL/SQL Developer that I've download from http://www.allroundautomations.nl/PL/SQL.
I tried to TNSPing the connection from DOS but I get the same problem.
Could you please help me out on this?
    Thank you,
    Lilian

    Lillian,
I think you may need to read up a little more on logging into SQL*Plus/Oracle, and the various users and roles created by default.
Are you trying to connect as SYSDBA, or a standard user? I would suggest you use command line SQL*Plus instead of the Windows GUI.
Open a DOS/Command window and enter something like the following to connect as SYSDBA:
    sqlplus username/password AS SYSDBA
    or
    sqlplus / AS SYSDBA
    or
    sqlplus / AS SYSDBA@mydb
There are many ways to connect.
    Alison
