OEPE for Eclipse 3.5 (Galileo) ready?

Will OEPE for Eclipse 3.5 (Galileo) be ready and tested when 3.5 ships next week? I see on http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oepe/oepe_11g.html that it was last updated for 3.5 M6, which was released 3 months ago. I can't move to 3.5 unless OEPE is working properly on it.
Thanks!
Ari

It is a subset of OEPE. Please see this post: OEPE on Galileo Clarification

  • Vm version of for eclipse with oepe versus wls vm

I went through some old posts and seem to fnd that both WLS and eclipse need to be started with the same vm ?
This is a basic question, but my web app is for java5, what problems could I encounter if I try to run the java5 webapp on a WL server running on java 6
    thankyou

both WLS and eclipse need to be started with the same vm That is incorrect. Java version requirements for Eclipse and OEPE are independent from java version you build your app to and are independent from java version that WLS is running with.
You can target your app to Java 1.4, run OEPE with Java 1.6 and deploy to WLS that runs on Java 1.5.
This is a basic question, but my web app is for java5, what problems could I

It is perfectly fine to have an app that targets java version that's older than what WLS running with. Java is backwards compatible and so is WLS.

  • OEPE plugin for Eclipse 3.4

    Hello All,
Please help me with this problem.
I have Eclipse 3.4 ( Ganymede ), and I wanted to develop a bottom up webservice which has to be tested and deployed in weblogic.
I have a weblogic 10gR3 app server, but in order to make use of the easy features to create , deploy and test the webservice using Eclipse, I found this plugin OEPE ( oepe-ganymede-11.1.1.1.1.200904131333.zip) Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) 11g .
When I started to create a new weblogic server under eclipse ( so that I can use Eclipse to deploy and test my new webservice ), I get an error and its not letting me add this server to Eclipse
"Eclipse needs to be running on a Java VM version 6.0 or newer in order to interact with Oracle Weblogic Server 10.3 ".
I was pointing Eclipse to use jrockit_160_05 which comes with Weblogic 10, however I still got the same error.
Then I tried to download the JDK 1.6 from Sun , informed Eclipse to pick this JRE. ( to do this in Eclipse, Windows-->Preferences--> Installed JREs -- > and then selected the new JRE from JDK 1.6.
However I still get the same error... Not Sure what else to do .. Has anyone else had this kind of problem, if so kindly share your experience to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
    Thanks
    Chandra

    Hi Chandra
Just a thought. After you made changes to refer to new JRE from Eclipse IDE or eclipse.ini file, restart the eclipse using "eclipse -clean". Incase of workshop IDE also we do something like that -clean. And see if it picks up new JRE.

  • ADF BC support in Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) 11g/12c ?

    Hi All ,
I was having a look at a few demos on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/eclipse/demos-082305.html wherein I could figure out that there is cool support for EJB/JPA , ADF Faces , ADF Bindings etc using OEPE 12c.
Was wondering if there is support for ADF Business Components or is it planned for a later release ?
Current Business Services Support : http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/technology/products/enterprise-pack-for-eclipse/bus-services/OEPE-BusinessServices.html

We currently don't offer support for Oracle ADF BC in Eclipse and while we might consider this for a future release this is not planned right now.

  • OSB 11gR1 plug-ins for Eclipse/OEPE on MAC OS

Where/How can I get OSB 11gR1 specific Eclipse/OEPE plug-ins for Eclipse under MAC OS X?
I installed the Eclipse 3.5.2 w/ OEPE plug-ins on MAC OS X, but need additioanl plug-ins to do OSB 11gR1 development in it, but can't seem to find them
    anywhere!
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    THanks
    RB

additioanl plug-ins to do OSB 11gR1 development in it, but can't seem to find them anywhere!these plug-ins/features are installed in OEPE by the OSB installer during installation.download from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/osb/index.html, extract the osb.zip and runInstaller.sh. Hopefully the install script should work (I doubt if MAC OS X is supported. But could forsee no reason why this script cannot execute in MAC OS X unless there are hard coding in this sript for supported OS ).
You are trying a un-supported configuration and all the best.
    My two cents.

  • Where to find flex plugin for eclipse Galileo

    Hi
I have searched for flex plugin for Eclipse but in vain.I have made a serach in google adobe....
A freind of mine told me that you can just cut and paste the installation folder of adobe flex builder into the eclipse Galileo folder

I think what you are wanting is the Flash Builder 4 Beta (plugin version).  Adobe renamed it from Flex Builder to Flash Builder as of version 4.
It should be posted in the labs at this link

Any ideea on what's wrong ? Please help.
    Thanks in advance

    Tnx for replies.
After half a day of research I have come to a (hasty) conclusion that for my type of application JavaFX is NOT READY for adoption.
I was surprised to find that official Java and JavaFX integration only consists of embedding Swing components in JavaFX. Ill be using multithreading, asynch socket IO, tray icon/menu and a few others things that dont seem easy if at all possible to do in JavaFX. For long periods the application will be running without any visible gui while still doing lots of networking. So obviously Java is going to be controlling the the App and JavaFX will only be in charge of the View. I found some hacks to run JavaFX from Java but I don't want to do hacks and possibly break the license.
Im a bit confused where Sun is going with JavaFX, they add support for WS and ATOM - does that mean they will eventually copy all features from Java to JavaFX changing it from a domain specific language to general purpose one? If they dont provide an easy way for the app to do the grunt work in java and only use JavaFX for gui then that must be their aim? But how many developers are gonna wait for years untill JavaFX can do everything that Java can do?

  • Import WSAD 5.1.2 into Enterprise Pack for Eclipse

Has anyone tried to import an application developed in Websphere Studio Application Developer, v5.1.2, into Enterprise Pack for Eclipse?
    WSAD is based on Eclipse.
    Thanks.

  • Oracle database plugin for Eclipse?

  • File Flagged as Malware when Installing Enterprise Pack for Eclipse

    Hello,
I was installing Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 12.1.2.1-kepler when Norton 360 flagged one of the files during installation. I did do two screen captures but I can't find anywhere to upload them so I'll manually post the information here.
    Threat:Suspicious.Cloud.7.EP
    c:\oracle\middleware\oracle_home\oracle_common\jdk\jre\bin\javacpl Removed.
My question is, what should I do now. A dialog box came up and said that "This program might not have installed correctly". It gives me an option to reinstall but I'm afraid it might happen again.
Any suggestions, or if this is the wrong place to post this, I would appreciate anyone showing me where.
I am running Windows 7(SP1) 32-bit, and I downloaded all the patches that Microsoft sent out via Windows update a couple of days ago.
    Thanks!

You will need to disable Norton and re-install WLS/OEPE. May also want to file a report with Norton since their software is sending up false positives.

  • Oracle Enterprise pack for eclipse in Spring STS

I installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse in Spring STS (Springsource Eclipse IDE). I want to use this for Oracle OSB development. After installing this I cannot find the options to create OSB project in STS.
    Am I missing something?
I noticed that in Oracle Enterprise pack for eclipse IDE (the one installed with weblogic server) has Oracle Common Tools too. Do I need to install this one? If yes, where can I find the URL for eclipse update?

  • Difference between Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11gR1 & Eclipse IDE

    Dear ,
what is the difference between Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11gR1 (link http://blogs.oracle.com/devtools/2009/08/oracle_enterprise_pack_for_ecl_2.html)
and Eclipse IDE for Java EE Develpr (link http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ )

    Hello,
    Thanks for your question.
The Web Service Design View was part of the Workshop product.
For OEPE, which was a new product starting in the summer of 2008, we don't have a Web Service Design view.
The Web Service Design View and Properties view for Workshop supported a lot of JAX-RPC features.
Given enough interest we will certainly consider a Design View for OEPE that would support the JAX-WS web service platform.
    Regards,
    Andrew

  • Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse vs  Eclipse tools for Oracle WebLogic

are these two plugins the same thing ?
    Thanks
    -Serge-

Thanks, I also got a response from Duncan Mills
" WebLogic comes with Workshop for WebLogic which is the BEA WorkShop (full edition) rebranded and with all the new features to support 10.3 of WebLogic.
The Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) is a brand new and separate product that is being developed in parallel on an Eclipse 3.4 core from the ground up, pulling in the key open source projects that Oracle already works on for Eclipse (WTP / Dali) plus a bunch of the key stuff such as AppXRay and WebLogic tooling from the WorkShop product line.
You'll see some more detailed announcements on this very shortly.
Both OEPE and Workshop for WebLogic are free of course "
