OES11 install of NSM3.04 and Java

Slight problem encountered at a client. Upgraded the NSM engine server from
OES2SP3 to OES11: the 3.0.3 engine carried on working fine. And I could also
upgrade to 3.04 with no problem by adding the CD repository.
However, I go to install a 2nd event agent on a *freshly* installed OES11
server, and yast2 software management complains:
Nothing provides java-1_5_0-ibm needed by
novell-storagemanager-event-3.0.4-10.x86_64
This is fair: SLES11.1/OES11 repos only have java 1.6, but the upgraded
server retained Java 1.5 from OES2
I run "rpm -ivh" against the module instead to install the event server, and
I get no dependency issue. And hey presto the event server works

There are actually two repositories on our NSM 3.0.4 ISO. One is named
SLES10 and one is named SLES11. If you follow the instructions in the
HTML pages on the ISO you'll mount the correct one just fine. However,
if you let SLES11 attempt to automatically mount the ISO image and find
the repository, it picks the first ISO on the image. Since "SLES10"
comes first alphanumerically, before "SLES11", you're actually mounting
the SLES10 repository with that ISO image.
Long story short - remove that repository and follow the directions on
the ISO image, and you should have no trouble.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

Abap and java stack together gives error message...

I am trying to install abap stach and java stack together.
I installed abap was without problem but when I install Java i get the error below.
I tried SP09 and since it didnt work Sp07 also since I had it with me downloaded before.
Any help ??? Got stuck

Oracle Linux and Java 7u10

Hi all,
I installed Oracle Linux Server 6.3 selecting "software Development System" (java 1.6.0 comes with it).
but I need to use Java 1.7
So I downloaded jdk-7u10-linux-x64.rpm
when I try to install it, I get the following error.

I can't uninstall java 1.6 because other rpm uses it.
Can someone tell me what the "proper" way to install Oracle Linux and Java 1.7 should be?
OR is there a Oracle Linux Server 6.4 coming out soon with Java 1.7 as its default package set ;-)

You can ignore the errors. The files named in the error lines do not exist in the rpm package, but are there as .jar files
The following works under Oracle Linux 6.3 x86_64 (and probably other versions).
1. Open the following URL in a web browser on your PC:

2. Click the JDK download button, accept the license agreement and download the JDE rpm package.
3. Copy the following file to your Oracle Linux server (SFTP):

Java plugin doesn't work, even though it's installed correctly and java programs work.

As stated. I have a link in ~/.mozilla/plugin that points to test/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so, which is the java 6 update 21 runtime environment.
Java doesn't show in about:plugins, and java applets don't start (firefox suggests to install missing plugins).
Java programs using the jre outside the browser work.
This is on Linux 32-bits, Slackware 13.0, kernel 2.6.34.

Java option icon not displaying AND Java not working, even after deleting and re-installing Java

Hi, I have uninstalled and re-installed Java. When I look at Add-ons, it shows Java Platform SE7 U17 10.17.2.2 and Java deployment Toolkit 7.0.17… 10.17.2.2 enabled. But it is not working – and I do not see the Firefox plugin to allow occasional use of Java.

Install ERP ECC 6.0 with EHP4 and JAVA stack (usage type)

Hi all,
I need to install ECC with EHP4 and also JAVA stack.
I know that I have to install 2 stacks with different SID and oracle homes, firts I have to install ABAP stack and then the JAVA stack, but wich usage type should I choose for JAVA STACK?
What I would like to have in my new installation would be the same usage type for JAVA stack like ERP 6.0 SR3 ABAP+JAVA stacks.
What should I choose?

SAP ECC 6.0 allows ABAP and JAVA but EHP4 this feature is not.
One thing I can suggest if you install ABAP stack first, it will initiates (even different SIDu2019s) the JAVA stack also.
So JAVA stack having a protection with ABAP, because you know JAVA stack is a very sensitive and time consuming one when you want to start are stop.
So you can do this sequence

Can you please advice whether an application server that make use of JAVA beans and JAVA related services require Oracle client to be installed? For an example if the solution build based on Java and JBOSS to be used as application server, do we still require oracle client to be installed and configure the tnsnames in order to communicate to database server?

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

You can turn off compatibility checking, but more and more of the Google Toolbar will not work. Google is no longer supporting the Google Toolbar so you should use the alternatives.

Some people have reported reinstalling the Apple 2014-001 Java update has helped.

How and where to install MDM Connector and MDM Java API

I am installing MDM Server 5.5 and refering to Installation gude
MDM 5.5 SP06 installation guide (Document Version 1.1 December 10, 2007). While installing Development and Portal components , We have to install MDM Connector and MDM JAVA API. I want to know whether the file JAVAAPI<version>.sca file is to extracted on MDM Server or SRM Server ( Using SDM). Please let me know

All these sca files that u got along with the business content needs to be deployed onto Web Application Server (recommended WAS 7.0 ).
U can deploy these files with the help of SDM.
